I would highly recommend this hotel. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. We had a lovely balcony with a beautiful mountain view. As an added bonus, there is a very nice spa and pool. We were driving and the parking garage was so convenient with easy access to the hotel. There was great variety on the breakfast buffet and everything was delicious. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. A great choice for a stay in Garmish!

Amazing Hotel Very Close To Town Center
We were there for a conference down the road, but we chose to stay closer to the center of town for more dinner choices and access to the Christmas Market. We couldn't have chosen a better location. The hotel is outstanding. The service staff at the front desk, dining, bar and cleaning were excellent. We promise to be back again for next year's conference!

We loved Hotel Zugspitze! We stayed here for a few nights and used it as our base for exploring the area and would absolutely stay here again. The hotel is near the main squares and shopping street in the town but far enough away that it is very peaceful. The hotel itself is very cute and clean, with very helpful staff.

The Hotel Zugspitze offers an incredible staff, delicious food, stellar location, and amenities. We wish we lived closer so we could visit frequently. Frank was kind enough to make sure we were fed after a late arrival. However, the star of our stay was Jonathan, who was kind and helped us so much. We cannot wait for the opportunity to stay here again.

Just as amazing the 2nd time roung
This was our 2nd time staying here, the first in winter-time. We were in the midst of a quite major snowstorm and there is nowhere I would have rather been. It was so comfortable and cozy in this hotel. The food is always excellent and there is so much of it. Absolute heaven. The proximity to the town and hiking trails could not be better. We spent a lot of time exploring the trails in the snow, returning to the hotel for hot drinks, roaring fire and friendly staff.
And -- the \"visit\" by St. Nikolaus on Niklaustag was extremely special. The extras just make this place one of our favorites.

Great hotel! The staff was very welcoming, the food was good (breakfast and dinner - and free snacks in the afternoon!). There's a nice pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room on the property. The location is convenient to the little town with lots of shops, and a 5-10 minute walk to the train to get to the Zugspitze. Overall, we had a really nice stay and I would recommend this hotel if you'll be in Garmisch!

Lovely older hotel might need some updates, but incredible service provided by every member of their staff made up for that. Everyone was super helpful with recommending shops to scheduling massage to just greeting me every day. All hotels could use this hotel as a role model for service!!!! I also had a balcony with a nice view to enjoy when the clouds cleared. It’s just a block or so from the pedestrian zone in Garmisch and a 10 minute walk to the train station. The busy roads nearby got very quiet a night, a plus since I like an opened window at night.

Everything about out stay was enjoyable. We had an amazing corner room with two balconies with views of the mountains which were breathtaking. Two blocks from the center of the town, with bicycles available for exploring the surrounding countryside, and such great suggestions and guidance from the incredibly professional staff. The bathroom was the nicest we've had in years, with every detail thought of. The lounge area with afternoon snacks, the amazing breakfast (included), etc etc We ate at the restaurance which was also very good with terrific service. -- This place was just awesome and I had a very sinking feeling having to leave. Loved every minute. Love this place.

i was put in a tiny corner room..we had 3 rooms the other rooms were nice..mine was a closet.. needed new carpet..if i paid a cheaper price i would have been ok..The staff was very friendly

Everyone was very kind and very helpful! The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean and comfortable! The food was wonderful. Breakfast was great and they even had afternoon cakes and coffee for guests. Dinner was delicious as well. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. The morning we left, we had a very early train to catch and they packed us several sandwiches and snacks since we would miss breakfast. Thank God they did because one of our long train rides did not serve any food which helped us tremendously as we were traveling with our son. We are very thankful for the wonderful service the hotel provided and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Garmisch!

Loved the property and staff and so did our kids. The half-board 4 course meal was high-end and worth the 20 eurp each price. Half board is a Team the Europeans use for a deluxe meal as part of the room charge. We were able to add it upon arrival even though it is usually paid for in advance. Kids loved the bolognese (basically spaghetti with meat sauce).

Very nice hotel in an exellent location near restaurants and the beatiful pedestrian area. The people working in this hotel (at the reception, restaurant, and housekeeping) are extremely nice and always there to help - very customer-focused indeed. The hotel does not have A/C but they will provide fans if requested.

It was such a pretty hotel inside and out and the staff were so nice and very helpful. I really liked the location - easy to get to and a very short walk to the restaurants and shops. Beautiful views. My only concern was that we were there in late June and it was starting to get warm and we wanted the windows open to sleep, but it made me wary as we were on the first floor (and there are a few bugs - not many, but no screens as most of Europe doesn't seem to have). We all voted the Hotel Zugspitze as having the best breakfast on our vacation. The 3 night stay there was lovely. Small point, but I loved having actual keys to the doors (which they could hold at the desk to avoid carrying it around) - something different than the usual key cards and reminds me of traveling when I was young.

The star of the show was Britta, our front desk \"concierge.\" She welcomed us warmly, showed us around this lovely hotel, and then guided us ever-so-well to places for lunch and dinner. She even gave us emergency shopping device when we found we hadn't packed swimsuits for the pool area.
The hotel is warmly decorated and has an excellent restaurant. The pool area offers great relaxation after a long day of walking, and is included in the price. In addition to a pool, there's a hot tub, sauna, steam room and cold pool, plus plenty of chairs for relaxation.
The only negative I would have is that Room 106 had a carpet that needed to be replaced, with several worn areas.

This hotel is in a great location. My room had a fantastic view. Other benefits include a close 1-2 block walk to the main village with dozens of restaurants, bars and shopping. There is also a Spa at the hotel which was an added bonus.
I also didn't eat at the hotel restaurant until the last night and it was very, very good. Pumpkin soup was one of the best soups I have ever had.
Overall, a great place and I would stay there again.

The hotel was convenient to shopping and excellent restaurants. We had a spacious room with a patio, 2 baths and a second door to the hall. It was clean, plenty of space to put things and a bathroom with a great shower! It was nice to have an outdoor space. It was well secured, (though we never felt unsafe) and had doors which opened either the usual way or from the top, allowing fresh air but not entry. The morning in the restaurant was excellent with lots of options. Loved the living room and other common areas as well.
I'd remove the green rugs in the room, though. They were merely cut carpet which were curling at the edges.

The hotel was very convenient from the train station and to the downtown area.

At arrival the staff was very friendly and welcoming. She provided a full tour of the property. The facilities are upscale, beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms were large and comfortable. There is a very nice view of the mountains, yet the hotel is within a couple blocks of downtown areas. We made good use of the sauna and spa areas, spending a full day relaxing. They also have a very nice pool and hot tub which we did not use because we preferred the textile free areas more.
