First, finding where to check in was an issue. Apparently you walk into a restaurant to check in. The restaurant was dark and the door was closed. There were no instructions on the outside of the building. When I finally figured it out, during check in the older woman asked if we wanted breakfast in the morning (an additional 27 euros each). I told her not tomorrow but maybe sometime during our stay. She chased us out into the parking area to ask about breakfast again stating that I didn’t tell her.
My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. The stay itself was fine. The view was beautiful but the room was tiny, no coffee maker in the room and overall a tired, old building. Upon checkout the same older woman gave me a bill for an additional 124 euros because she said my reservation was only for one person and I had two. I told her it wasn’t specified when I made my reservation (Expedia). She was very rude and said “this is what I’m telling you”. I explained that I chose this hotel based on value and said if I’d have known that it was going to be so much more, I would have picked a different place. I said I was happy to pay for parking and city tax but had an issue with the additional person charge. She got defiant. I felt like I was getting bullied into paying extra. She was obviously angry that I questioned the charge. She threw her hands up and walked away. I have no idea where she went. I waited several minutes but she didn’t return. Very poor service.

We were greeted by one of the staff who was older and she really made us welcome. The town is beautiful and also the Hotel and Restaurant. The accordion player did Country Roads and Sweet Caroline. Dinner was great. Breakfast and the Host were equally as good. The beer glass used by a table of 19 people next to us was the largest one I’d ever seen. Thanks for a memorable two day stay. Great place! Barbara warmly greeted us upon our arrival. My room was lovely with an outdoor sitting area with beautiful views. Loved the location in historic Garmisch. Nice restaurants and shops in our street. We had breakfast one morning at the hotel and it was also great perfect to start our day. I would recommend and stay here again.

Super Bavarian Decor, vintage yet updated facilities. Management still has hands on with daily business and they know how to do it. I speak poor German, they do not require language to understand needs. A waiter, Bashir, figured I was American after one sentence, he went out of his way to make my dinner pleasant and greeted me by name the next day. Parking is a little tight but if you want the real deal of Bavarian food and lodging, I love the Frauendorfer.

The parking is behind the building and you may miss it. Also, there are no elevators, so if you are on the 3rd floor like us lugging suitcases up the stairs was tough. Doable but you need to know. This hotel is awesome, and in a great part of town.

Amazing place to stay. This was our 4th time staying here. We will stay here again. The staff is very friendly, food is sehr lecker, rooms are like apartments, parking is available but a bit tight, this is hardly a complaint, this is Europe.

Our stay was nice and relaxing. The hotel had the authentic German feel with a great view of Zugspitze. The breakfast was delicious. Centrally located in the city and close to The Partnach Gorge (Partnachklamm).
However, the building is older, and therefore you can hear everything going on in the hotel. We didn’t mind it but you can hear the dancing (stomping and local’s having a good time) down in the restaurant.

The property is a German design hotel located in a historical and quiet road in in Garmisch Partinkensh area. The hotel has a popular Bavarian restaurant on the 1st flr and mostly overbooked for reservation. The room we stayed was spacious 2 bedrooms and very well kept and clean. Daily housekeeping and change of linens are maintained. The prop owner and all staff were very friendly and helpful. They even guided us for our daily tours and attraction in the area. we highly recommend this place for a very relaxing and memorable vacation for a family.

This hotel has it all! Bavarian style, culture and staff with warm hearts. They made us feel like family. They have an accordion player in the evening with some authentic dancers. Food and beer were great. Basheel and Christopher we will miss you. We’ll be back!

Second time, cannot wait for #3
This was out second tome staying in one of the Junior Suites. We love this place due to its friendly staff, great food, cold beer, dog friendly (as long as your dog is), and it’s location. Walking distance to everywhere in Partenkirken, even the Olympic Stadium.
Loads of shops and picturesque building fronts. One morning, why enjoying the view of the Zugspitze, I heard the familiar sounds of cow bells dinging and donging, I look to the street and sure enough, a herd of cattle, marching down the “one way” brick street.
We cannot wait for our next trip there to stay at this fabulous family owned place.

The room smelled of cigarette smoke. There is some shopping nearby but if you want to see the center of town be prepared to walk over 1 mile each way. It was convenient to be able to park on site, but you do have to pay a fee.

Great location in the old town of Partenkirchen. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk. The hotel is a great place for breakfast, dinner, and afternoon drinks outside.

Nice old building with hotel above a restaurant and bar. Breakfast not included and cost 10.50 euros and cold selection of bread, cheese, meats, fruit and cereal. The room across from us had loud partying. Distance is .7-.8 mile from train so a little hike while pulling a carry-on. Good news was a free bus pass for your entire stay after check-in. Ate one evening meal there and food ok.

Foreign tourist need some kindness
I travelled from away, kindness and helpfulness from hotel staff are most crucial to us to ensure a good memorable trip. At check in, I was met with the worst service possible. There was no hotel reception and no one offers any help. I am totally abhorred and lost. I was asked by hotel.com for a review on our check in. I truthfully said how I felt! At breakfast I was told off by hotel lady that I should not said what I did as it be on the internet. To me, a review is to help other travelers like myself to make informed choices. There was NO service recovery at all though they knew my unhappy experiences. This have given me a very bad impression on Garmisch. I was hopeful to return for a ski trip, given the very bad service and rude people I encountered at this hotel, I will never returned again. My next stop was Regensburg and the hotel and services are so amazing. I will return to Germany again.

This lodge was extremely nice and in the perfect location to all of the top activities. The room looks like it had just been renovated, had comfortable beds, nice shower, and top of the line bed linens. The only down side to the room is that it could use a microwave to heat food. Breakfast was ok, mama get fresh bread every morning from the bakery. We are Americans, so for 20 Euro, we were expecting bacon and eggs, etc…However, it was more along the lines of a continental breakfast with cold cuts and cheese. Mama is the owner of the lodge and the restaurant. She was very kind and knows how to treat people, she went out of her way to help us with tour instructions and directions! Lastly, even if you pay taxes for your room online, you will be charged again with city tax and parking upon check out, we were not expecting to additional charges. Overall, the vacation was great and I would stay here again!

Wonderful hotel, weird check-in.
The hotel is part of a restaurant. There is no check in area. We entered and were ignored until finally, at the restaurant food service service area, we asked where the hotel was and they said it was right there. Then they gave us paperwork and went off to set tables and deliver food. We stood there - with our luggage in the middle of the restaurant - until another person (in the kitchen!) offered to give us our keys. A bit strange check in procedure! But everything else about the place was fantastic! Gorgeous exterior, comfortable room, lovely old touches, great modern bathroom, and even parking.

Absolutely beautiful in the historic district. The owner is so helpful and pleasant. Opted for the breakfast which was very good just different from the American breakfast. Dinner was fabulous. Our server was quite helpful, pleasant and attentive. The dinner entertainment was an accordion player and two young boys occasional jumping in for traditional dance. Wunderbar!
