The rooms were clean and large. Even though it is somewhat worn and dated, everything worked. We had one issue with the A/C remote that was fixed immediately.

The staff were all warm and friendly. We arrived late and the restaurant just closed but Kaden and her colleagues scrambled around to get us snacks and a beverage. We had all our meals in the onsite restaurant and they were all good. Breakfast buffet was good value.

My wife and I had a spa treatment for two. My wife said it was the best massage she’s ever had.

We booked 4 nights at Ramayana but after staying one night we checked out, found a beautiful 4 bed 2pool private vila for the same price! This hotel is mouldy. Inside and out. At some point it was a beautiful hotel, with stunning little paths with greenery, probably few decades ago. Everything is outdated, old and got that 'old' smell as well as mould in the bathrooms and outside. The restaurant is tasteless, all the seats and pillows dirty. The tiles around the pool all loose/missing. There's no beach. The Aircon is noisy and located right in front of the bed meaning it's blowing right to the face if it's on. The list goes on, I wont get into gritty details. It was non refundable so lost the money too annoyingly. All in all would not recommend.

Hotel was stunning! Gardens and Pool Area were amazing!
Staff from all sections were very attentive.Shout out to Kadek at the restaurant in the evenings, young guy who went out of his way to assist and give individualised service!
We had an Ocean view room which was wonderful, can hear waves on beach, although room 213 close to pool area so not very private.
Bit of a distance to town area, and whilst shuttle was advertised at set times, taxi service is available from reception for 30k which is a far better option (although not mentioned at check in - would suggest in future).
Buffet breakfast was nice, restaurant meals were good, but drink prices quite expensive (65k a small Bintang outside prices around 35k).
Definitely would stay again.

From the moment you arrive through to your final departure, every staff member makes you feel welcomed and valued in a courteous and extremely respectful manner and always with a beautiful smile. Ramayana Candidasa is a quiet and restful haven on beautifully kept tropical surrounds. The restaurant has everything you need with enough choice for your food requirements, or you can get pickup organised from several of the restaurants in town. Candi Dasa in an area of Bali that is still removed from much of the western commercialisation overtaking the south and west so if you are looking for shopping malls and brand name knock offs, and western style coffee shops, pizza and hamburgers then this is not your destination and the reason we still love Candi Dasa.

We liked poolside, and sea views, the quiet gardens at side of property. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean and regularly serviced. Restaurant looks a bit tired and in need of upgrade. Dinner menu needs more dishes not just huge buffets for two. Cocktails need alcoholic content.

But we had a great family stay and overall a fantastic, relaxing holiday with a friendly atmosphere. Thanks

Gorgeous property

An absolutely beautiful property overlooking the ocean with a great restaurant/bar, an ample pool, and lovely rooms laid out in garden settings. There is no beach here, and that's a long story that has to do with Bali itself, but nice beaches exist in the vicinity. I can't say enough about how lovely the staff were. Truly charming and welcoming. The town/village is also nice (especially around the lotus pond).

The service from this hotel was amazing - even from before arrival, as they were able to assist in coordaining airport transfers (very smooth and easy experience) along with hiring a private driver for a day tour. The Hotel and staff were beautiful, views amazing, rooms well appointed and felt spacious. Had a lovely stay!!

This is a clean beautiful resort on the sea. You can book a boat for snorkelling from the beach. The buffet breakfast is great. You csn reserve taxis very cheaply for the whole day. The internet is fast. The Ac works well. However there is no elevator and it is far from most sites and from the cruise terminal and the airport.

We were impressed with the staff from the first greeting at reception through to our housekeepers and restaurant staff.
The property is a little tired, however if you can see past that you will love it. The spa was terrific, I ended up going there almost every day of our stay.
I would definitely recommend this one!

The hotel is right on the water with the restaurant, pool and sandy areas right at waters edge. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well as the one at the hotel. And there are plenty of things to do close by like snorkeling, Virgin Beach and Water Temples. The spa is excellent and the hotel staff are so friendly and helpful.

This was our first stay in Bali. We had one of the garden rooms. It was beautiful and clean!!! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable! This was our first stop in our trip to Bali. We stayed 3 nights. Our room was very clean, comfortable beds and the air conditioner worked perfectly. I can’t say enough about the staff. Candidasa is a perfect area to get away from the hustle and bustle of South Bali, and the Ramayana is a top-notch resort to unwind. The pool is excellent, plenty of western and local dining options, and diving boat pickup literally next door. Love this place and I'll definitely be back!!

We arrived after a long travel day & it was dark. We were told about upgraded rooms & felt obligated to view them. One was a ocean view, it was dark & we were informed there was a passenger ship out there which was the lights. We woke in the morning to the view of 3 container ships, not an idyllic ocean view & was very dissatisfied with this, especially as it had cost a lot of money for the upgrade. I spoke with reception at 8am our 1st morning & expalined i wasnt happy with room, it wasnt worth the money we had been charged & felt missold on the view. Eventually we got our money back & we left to travel the beautiful Bali. The hotel itself is lovely, staff friendly & professional however when a customer is unhappy with something within 12hrs it should be sorted ASAP

We loved our stay. The staff were so personable and friendly. No request was any trouble. The facilities were lovely and our family enjoyed the complimentary activities - the morning walk through the rice paddy fields was definitely worth it and the daily afternoon teas a wonderful way to end the day. Would definitely go back and recommend to others. A quiet oasis after spending the day sightseeing.

Relaxing stay with nice pool area

Thankfully the lady hotel manager came to our rescue and provided us with a suitable room for a family of three. Had she not this part of our Bali experience would have been difficult as the room given was small and damp smelling.

We politely asked her to consider moving us to another and she duly obliged, once all check in had completed.

The studio she gave us was light years better and made us feel far more relaxed and happy with the room rate that we paid.

All staff could not be falted and their level of service was high in standard.

Only negative was the bar and restaurant which was in need of revamp and thought as to how to keep guests from walking into town to find a better variety of food and entertainment.

A lovely view from the pool area and a worthwhile trip away from the bustle of Seminyak

We loved the appearance of the hotel and it's proximity to the beach. We spent a lot of time in the delightful pool area and took advantage of the daily happy hour cocktails. Unfortunately there is not much sand on the beach at the hotel, and a lot of rocks makes walking into town along the beach impossible. Our room was nice, but small. The bathroom was quite roomy and everything was very clean. The staff were very attentive and the daily activities provided were fun. Breakfast was very good, but we didn't think much of the dinner menu. There was a free daily shuttle to and from town at a certain time of day - if this was more flexible it would be more convenient to guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and east Bali was a pleasant and quite change. We would return.

Although the location is very nice and the hotel pool and dining areas good the food left a lot to be desired. It appears mostly to be reheated and often was served partially heated. We were also on the 6th floor which is usually ok though there is no lift so please consider this if booking.

Quite Part of Bali, very relaxing.

My three friends and myself from Melbourne enjoyed our experience of Rama Candidasa (pronounced locally as Chandidasa), the massages were great, the food excellent and fresh, the pool and amenities fantastic, the free events, basket weaving and yoga were really good. Our day trip to White Sands Beach with snorkelling and lunch, was unforgettable. Love you and miss you so much.

The staff went above and beyond to be as warm and helpful as possible. The resort us situated in s besutiful spot on the waterfront , we were so impressed with the food selection and quality we dined in the restaurant fir all meals ! The food was five star standard , I'm a chef by trade and couldn't fault breakfast lunch or dinner , defiantly a high light !

The hotel and the amenities were good, but the standard garden view rooms are small and ill-maintained. The air-conditioning was shoddy. The bathroom was in a mess. The drainage was blocked, with the wash basin and bath tub overflowing. There was little pressure in the jet shower of toilet seat.
The sea view rooms and villa might be better, but the standard rooms are not worth a stay..

Absolutely loved it! Staying as a couple or on your own is excellent. You have a quite 5 star feeling with the service and the staff. The Spa is superb but not cheap. Will not stay there with the children under 12. However, loved the retreat-like feellig to myself.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. Access to snorkeling and basic fishing plus very relaxing environment around the pool area. Room was brilliant and had such a comfortable bed we didn't want to get out of it. Recommend to anyone who's after a quieter location in Bali.

Had a lovely stay at Rama. My only criticism is that the rooms are a little tired and could do with updating. The showers aren't the best if you are over 5'5 in height. We specifically picked this hotel as we read you could snorkel off the beach, but the snorkelling hit and miss depending on the tide and roughness of the sea. Some days were just too wavy for snorkelling. Other than that the staff were lovely, good was great. Would stay there again!

Great resort with nice views and pool

We stayed here for one night after returning from the Gili Islands and before leaving Bali. The resort is tucked away on a side street and it appears that there isn't much of anything within short walking distance. That's okay though, because the resort has everything you need. This is a real resort that offers activities for the guests, has grounds to explore with gardens and ponds, has its own waterfront restaurant, and excellent service. We were greeted at checkin with a refreshing welcome drink. We stayed in an ocean view bungalow which was nice. I'm not sure the ocean view itself was worth it, since we had to look about 150 feet across the pool to see the water, but the close proximity to the pool and restaurant was nice. From the pool and lounge chairs, the view is spectacular. The pool was surfaced with porcelain tiles. This added to the luxury feel of the place and felt good on our feet. This resort doesn't really have a beach, although supposedly there is a beach immediately next to the resort. We didn't check that out, but you can see it from the resort, and the water looked too rough to swim or snorkel in. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and the bedding was very comfortable. The restaurant was delicious for dinner, and the free breakfast buffet was great as well. Great tasting food and lots of variety. Probably a great place to stay if you plan on seeing places in East Bali, but there isn't much in the area that you can walk to.

The quieter side of Bali

We stayed in room 325 and were very pleasantly suprised with a spotless downstairs and equally spotless and spacious bedroom upstairs, with a super comfortable king bed. The bathroom was huge and the two balconies had sea views and mountain views.
Loved the swimming pool which was kept immaculately clean. The grounds in general were always welcoming and kept in excellent condition.
Nothing was too much to ask for and always delivered quickly and with a smile. Excellent service. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend it

Little piece of paradise

We have just returned from a two week holiday at this hotel.
It was fabulous and had everything that's needed for that perfect
Holiday. From start to finish. The staff were very friendly right down to the
Towel men. Food and service was excellent and always with a smile.
The only complaint I would have is that the bathroom could do with an update.
But then again that's not important.

We stayed for 10 days in Rama Candidsa, that area of Bali is lovely. The hotel itself was very nice, gardens, surrounds and the rooms. However the breakfast food was really not good at all. Always had the impression that it was last night leftovers - not a huge selection either but we were OK with that just what was offered was below average. Yet the evening food was great - we joked that they had a trainee chef in the morning and main chef in the evening. I wouldn't recommend the hotel because of the standard of food. Also you need to be aware the hotel is 2.5 km's away from the town- although the hotel does offer a free shuttle service at 10 am.

Enjoyed Rama, 3rd time now,but their food menu, hasnt been changed in years,we had to go to restaurants in town, to enjoy our food, Ramas breakfast had flies all over the pastries,it was disgusting.

Very comfortable hotel though.

We were also charged over $151 extra for our 12 year old daughter to sleep on the couch for 3 nights, bedding was placed on the couch, but $151 AUD, is totally unacceptable.

We only had two nights here but wished we had stayed longer, truly a fabulous 5 star hotel at such a reasonable price. Great food in restaurant that overlooks the ocean, amazing pool with poolside bar service especially their 3 hours of cocktail happy hour. Many free activities the hotel provides including bicycle tour of the area. Highly recommend the Rama resort and most definitely will stay with them next time we are in Candidasa.

We stayed here for 2weeks and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The ammenities are great,pool is lovely with a awesome view over the ocean. Staff are very friendly. On our last night we had a romantic dinner for two which was part of our honeymoon package it was fantastic, they set up a beautiful table with candle posts in the beach sand overlooking the ocean, food was fantastic. The only negative is our bathroom was very small and the shower was very hard to control the temp. Next time we stay here we will go for a ocean view room. Thanks for a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back.

A fantastic surprise packet for this medium sized Hotel in Candidasa and within a 30-minute slow walk to the main town or the hotel shuttle. The town itself is only very small. The town has a good selection of restaurants, convince stores and ATMs. The restaurants will pick you up and drop you off afterwards providing you eat at their place. However the Ramacandidas Hotel has a awesome restaurant with fantastic food and very reasonably priced. It was a surprise enjoyed several times. Buffet breakfast is also exceptionally good. Garden bungalows are at the front of the hotel and nearest to the beach and pool. Premium beds with pillow top were a bonus.

Beautiful Quiet Location

The hotel facilities and staff are great. The rooms are a bit tired but you don't spend too much time in them.
Really close to Bloo Lagoon which was a great snorkelling trip with kids.

Great place to stay in Candidasa.

We stayed here for 8 nights in October 2015 and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is great as well as the very friendly and accomodating staff. We were in room 319 and thought the room was really good.The bed is comfortable and the netting around the bed was pretty cool and a nice touch. The bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a revamp, but other than that it was a very nice room.

The restaurant is very good and we had breakfast there most mornings, as well as a few other meals. Its nice to be able to sit outside for sunset for a meal or a drink.

The pool area is nice and the pool attendants do a wonderful job. My only criticism regarding the pool is its temperature. The pool is very warm and not that refreshing. Was better first thing in the morning, however by the afternoon its like getting into a bath.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very nice with beautiful gardens. Would certainly stay here again.

Great place. Great base for touring Bali

Stayed from 13th Sep 2015 to the 28th. Don't be put off by entrance road. The hotel is very good. We had ground floor basic room (307). Grounds are peaceful and beautiful. Staff extremely polite and very helpful. Restaurant had good selection and all meals prepared to high standard. Lovely pool. You can do as much or as little as you like. With a small amount of searching you can find some stunning beaches. We had a truly amazing time.

When we arrived were greeted by the bell boy, then the reservations clerk, were upgraded to the junior suite because the garden bungalow we books was under renovations, what a fantastic suite. The grounds of the hotel were magnificent, right on the water, because of erosion there is no beach but the pool was wonderful. Meals and drinks were well priced. would stay again.

Close to wharf for Dive trips

We travelled from Tulamben after diving to the Rama Candidasa & were welcomed by a very amazing hotel.
Loved the Gardens & pool area. The pool was situated well with great service a little surprised to not have a sandy beach but facilities overcome this.
The food was excellent and added free facilities.
We did a Balanese cooking class & also learnt Balanese massage which was a very good experience and recommend.
Internet was a little slow.
We found this hotel very close to the wharf for our daily dive trips to Nusa Penida etc
If you wanted to fast boat to The other island.
The Spa treatments were very good and well worth it.

It was fantastic. At first the staff was attending and warm but we noticed a slip towards the end of our stay when the hotel got more crowded but no biggie..
The swinging beds by the ocean were amazing and my only struggle was leaving them as I did not want to at all.
clean swimming pool, and the food was fantastic albeit a bit pricy compared to the surrounding resturants.

Beautiful setting and scenery

Nice quiet location but still close to shops and restaurants. The hotel has a free shuttle to the village and the staff are so helpful. Restaurant is right on the beach with beautiful scenery and great menu. We had a lovely stay relaxing by the pool or on the day beds. Candidasa is a nice quiet spot great for getting away from it all.

Great, peaceful hotel

I loved my experience at the Rama Candidasa. Candidasa is a quiet fishing town with a few other hotels and cafes/shops. The Rama Candidasa is about 1km from town on the beach. The hotel grounds are well kept, the room was clean and comfortable and had a great view of the ocean and the hills. The restaurant was OK - I ordered off the \"European favorites\" menu the first night and it was not very good, but then ordered off the \"Balinese favorites\" menu a few other times and it was quite good! Breakfast was very good and the pool drink service was fine. You can snorkel right off the property at low tide - the reef is actually pretty impressive. Lots of coral, fish, starfish, eels, and sea cucumbers right there. Spa services were also good. I hired a tour guide through the hotel for a day of sightseeing -- Nengah was a fantastic English-speaking driver and guide and I really enjoyed the sights in the area (close to Bat Cave Temple, Besakih temple, Klungkung, and not too far from Ubud and Denpasar).

Highly reccommend.

Rama Chanidasa was an amazing break away from the hustle & bustle of Bali. Relaxing in the pool with unmatched service looking out to sea was a very welcome surprise.
You will not be disappointed staying here, all facilities were outstanding & we will return. Hotel transfers very punctual & friendly & we had a free tour all the way to Ubud. Highly reccommended stay ;-)

Beautiful place. Fixed the overbooking problem.

After my latest stint working in Afghanistan, I needed to see some green and blue and wanted to just relax. I was initially unhappy because the resort was overbooked, and they wanted to put me in a nearby 4-star resort for two of my six nights, Candi Beach Resort. After some negotiating, I was upgraded for those last four nights at Rama Candidasa, to make up for the inconvenience.

Both resorts were beautiful with excellent service and smiles. I enjoyed the rooms, pools, beach front locations and food. If you want to be away from the party scene in Kuta, etc., this is a great choice. Do keep in mind that it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to get back to Denpasar and the airport during heavy traffic. I would definitely return and recommend the resort.
