The rooms were clean, but reflected the constraints of an old building. No fridge in the room. Bathroom was 1-2 steps up from the bedroom. Everything was clean, but felt a bit old fashioned. Website photos would infer a more rural setting, but the hotel is located in a more suburban area (with gardens). Dinner was excellent and the menu had good variety. Our entre that night was the best of our 9 days in Normandy and Brittany.

An amazing, friendly high quality hotel . A Lovely short drive away to Mont st Michel and the town of Avranches. The food was beautiful and well priced . Lots of free parking right near our room . Tastefully decorated and high quality . I recommend this hotel very highly .

What you see is not what you are going to get
In the many years I have used hotels.com to book my stays, this is the first time I leave a negative review.
We were supposed to stay two nights at this hotel but decided to leave after our first night.
Be VERY careful when you book a stay there because, if you choose the standard/classic room, you will NOT have a good experience.
The photos are greatly misleading, this hotel is actually split into two different places. Standard/Classic beds are in the old building but nothing on the listing mentions it.
The listing mainly shows the newer building which you are not going to sleep in when booking non premium beds.
What you will get for a Standard/Classic room is a very hot bedroom which leaves you no choice but sleeping windows open all night, leading to a very (very!) noisy road. Not the great experience.
Also, tenants, please STOP asking people at what time they will have breakfast, we are on vacation, we don't have a tight schedule.
On a positive note, the breakfast was very good.
However, the overall stay was very overpriced for what they offered. We had a much better experience, for identical budget, in St Malo.
I just cannot recommend this misleading listing.

Quaint little chateau in a little town
We loved our stay here! It was so quaint and lovely. The staff are wonderful and spoke fluent English. There are two units which house guests- we loved the view of the charming garden from our room. Although we got in too late to book time at the hot tub, we did get to enjoy a lovely afternoon in the conservatory. We also ordered coffee for room service and it was delightful!

We stayed at the little house and it was splendid. Very spacious, it smelled great. Beds are truly comfortable. This place has everything a family of four could need and more. Their grounds are beautifully trimmed and kept, maintained and designed. Breakfast buffet was beyond delicious, their bread and crepes were very good. It was all very clean, calm, and quiet. I need to go back and stay many nights there. I will recommend for sure! All the staff here, every single person that works here greeted us with a smile. Thanks to all of you!

Location was beautiful and lovely as soon as we drive in. Grounds well kept and manor houses looked well kept with historical context.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at - and I work in the hotel industry. The service was fantastic, breakfast was great (accommodates both French and American/British tastes ), and the hotel grounds itself are elegant yet also welcoming with bright and healthy flowers everywhere. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, bathrooms felt clean, and the location was a 5 min drive from downtown. I honestly am considering going back to this little town JUST to stay at this hotel again.

An amazing stay. Great locations, about 25 min to Mount Saint Michel, five minutes from Avranches, a small mountain top town. The hotel was very, nice the owners and staff could not have been more accommodating. Will definitely look to come back.

We had a wonderful stay here. The gardens are beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast in the gorgeous solarium. We also took advantage of the warm weather and had drinks in the courtyard/ garden.
Our host helped us with last minute dinner reservations and both restaurants were fabulous! We never would have found them on our own. Next time, we would book a larger room. We had a standard double room. It had everything we needed but we could have used more space.

Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. The evening staff was wonderful. However, the older lady who checked us out seemed stressed and was very rude to me. At check out, I handed her the key, then stepped aside so my husband could pay because he carry’s the credit card. But as I stepped aside, the lady thought I was leaving without paying…we did not appreciate this. Also, we bought dinner across the street and brought it to the hotel atrium to enjoy. When we finished, we cleared the table, threw away our trash, then proceeded back to our room. A minute later there was a knock on our door; the lady came to our door accusing us of taking our dinner to our room…again, not appreciated.

Really enjoyed our stay at La Ramade. The room was big and very comfortable. Separate shower and toilet which is nice. Very quiet and cozy.

One of the highlights was the wine machine (not sure the correct name) but it takes a test tube of wine then entered into the top of a machine where is then brought to the correct temperature, aerate etc. Really cool if you are into wine.
We walked to a nearby restaurant (a steakhouse) but not sure about other restaurants in the area and what others are walkable or drive. The staff can recommended some but we picked our own.
The grounds are lovely and relaxing. After a long day, it was great to have a few glasses of wine outsides in the garden.

A lovely place to stay
This is a beautiful place although I didn't see which building the photo in the listing showed as there are two buildings within the grounds. The one we stayed in was a beautifully converted old house with new facilities combined with the old charm.
If you have the choice, there are a few suggestions...

They show the wrong picture. There are two villas on the property, one built in the 50s and one much newer. Our room was in the older building which was newly painted, so it was fine just seemed deceptive. Also we did not see any winery as stated although the outside yards we're very charming.

Quiet layover on the way to Mont-Saint-Michel
This was a great hotel all around. It was quiet, offered free parking, and was easy access on the road to Mont-Saint-Michel. Hotels around Mont-Saint-Michel can be very pricey so we opted for this little gem close to there, and continued our short journey to St Michel the next morning. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, and our room was great - spacious for Europe, and clean, too. Nothing bad to say about this place whatsoever. Even the bed and pillows were comfortable. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and the breakfast was good, too.

We stayed in the new building. Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well furnished, and the room and grounds were quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was a wonderful light buffet, anything you would want, and served in a lovely glassed-in patio with colorful place settings. Baguettes, croissants, fresh fruit, jams, yogurt, ham, prosciutto, granola, orange and grapefruit juice, boiled eggs. The owner, Veronique, and the help staff, were friendly and helpful.

Lovely Hotel in a Perfect Location
Our stay @ La Ramade was a positive, pleasant experience from the moment we arrive. They had never received our reservation from Expedia, (very happy I had printed out my Expedia confirmation). They showed us to our a room and honored our price. The hotel and grounds are lovely. They offer a delightful European breakfast for a surcharge. Which is a lovely to start before your head off for a perfect day given their proximity to many wonders Normandy has to offer. Enjoy!!!!

We were in France for 2 weeks and this was the best place we stayed at. Beautiful gardens. Great room with outside blinds that could black out the room at night. No noise whatsoever. Great breakfast and the most friendly staff. Our room was in another building from the main house and the hotel clerk walked us over to the room to make sure we got in OK. We were very impressed.

We have just returned from our visit to France where we stayed at La Ramade. We were really impressed with the beautiful building, a wonderful lounge area with wood fire, a lovely conservatory dining room with views to the garden and the room was spotless with a massive bed. The host was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, we had a fabulous meal in nearby Avranche at a restaurant recommended and booked by the host. Shall definitely stay there again.

Modern hotel in a rural setting
The hotel reception building is the one pictured in the listing. We stayed in a modern building at the back of the property where the rooms are overlooking a large reflecting pool and the surrounding backyards of neighbors. The grounds are beautiful and if you have breakfast you are in the older and charming part of the property. The room was nicely decorated in a theme (English room), beds were wonderful, linens great and the bathroom very clean. We were there during a heat wave but with the windows open after the sun went down it was fine, cool in fact in the morning. Because of the open windows however, a rooster woke us around 5 and crowed for a few minutes but we got back to sleep. The owners were extremely helpful and gave us a marvelous recommendation for dinner at Granville (and called for our reservation) and a secret way up to Le Mont St. Michel. We had an automobile accident upon leaving the hotel and the owners walked us through the French process, filled out forms for us and were incredibly helpful and supportive. The entire experience, despite our misfortune, was really really positive and we would absolutely stay there again.

Clean and comfortable rooms, charming inside and out, and about 20 minutes from Mont St. Michel. The hotel staff is extremely helpful. Lufthansa had lost my luggage for three days, and they spent hours trying to help me track it down. The neighborhood is very quiet and far away from noise. Free parking. I wish I could have stayed longer in this exquisite place.

I particularly liked this hotel. We had 2 nights here simply to visit Mont St Michel (MSM). Hotel is in a non-tourist location some 15 to 20 Kms from MSM which was the initial attraction. The grounds are very attractive, car parking very good and the buildings equally attractive, comfortable and quiet. A very adequate breakfast was provided in the room rate I paid. I would be very happy to return and recommend to others.

Lots to like, not much charm in the new building
At La Ramade we were put in the new building (~1 yr. old) in the room named Cancale and there was an elevator. Rooms in the older building have more charm. There is plenty of parking space available inside its gated property both by the old and new buildings. It was a good sized room with a good sized bathroom and a separate toilet room. The room (and building) is quite up-to-date as one might expect in a new facility, and it was very quiet. There was a nice view to a very large garden area behind. The room linens and towels were the best of our trip to-date. Breakfast was an extra 14 euro charge for us, had good variety, and was served in the old building's beautiful sunroom. Breakfast was a nice experience. Front desk service was mixed - helpful sometimes and less so others. The hotel is in a small town just next to Avranches and its literature advertises being 12km from Le Mont St. Michel, but in the fine print (that I missed) it states that all distances are \"straight line.\" Hmmm. Actual driving distance was twice that and the drive took ~30 min. each way. My wife liked the room very much and thought it was one of the best of our trip. If you want to be near or in Avranches, it is a good choice.

A very attractive hotel set in its own grounds with plenty of parking on the edge of a small town. Very helpful female proprietor who spoke English and provided a light evening meal for 4 adults and 2 young children despite us not requesting in advance. Wide expanse of lawns, ideal for children to run around after a journey. A typically satisfying French breakfast in the conservatory. Excellent beds. Would stay again.

We spent 8 days traveling the Bretagne Coast in a different hotel each day and this was our favourite. Charming hostess, great facilities, nice old homestyle building with lovely gardens, a sunroom and a late night bar area. B&B feel. Really enjoyed it.

Public areas all tastefully decorated - all very light and airy. Lovely garden and patio area, stylish conservatory breakfast area and small bar where drinks can be purchased. Very friendly welcome by the owner Our room was a reasonable size, bed comfortable but shower room/toilet a bit on the small side. Furniture in the room a bit sparse with a metal framed clothes hanging rail - there is a wardrobe but only with drawer space. Our room overlooked the side road and we had lot of traffic noise from 5am till 11pm. Windows have electric outside shutters which allowed us to have windows open overnight (temperature was 25C in the day) but made traffic noise worse. It would have been useful to have an electric fan in the room.

Our room was in the newly built part of the hotel, and it was wonderful. Very quiet, very clean, very comfortable. The location is great too; we were also only about 20mins from Mt Saint Michel. Only soso was the breakfast which didn't contain much interesting for the price.

This was quite possibly the nicest place we have ever stayed. Everything was top-of-the-line, thoughtfully appointed, impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and landscaped...we did not want to leave. This place is a real gem, and was conveniently located an easy 20-minute drive from Mont Saint-Michel. We lucked out with an upgrade to the Garden suite, which was extremely spacious for our family of three. I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend to everyone I know.
