Close to the train station, friendly and helpful staff, bar and restaurant (which serves pizzas if you arrive after the restaurant closes). Rooms are basic and a bit tired but clean and beds are comfortable. No aircon.

Perfect for a short overnight stay. Clean and tidy, great breakfast for £8!

I booked after 11pm and arrived at 1:30am as I needed to break up a long motorway journey. The 24hrs reception meant no problems.

Great place for stopover

Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Room basic but clean. Excellent shower. Free parking very useful. Excellent breakfast, wide selection of food items, freshly prepared and breakdast staff were friendly and attentive.

Well located budget hotel in Carlisle centre

I have rated this as a budget hotel. It is on a par with a travelodge. Its basic and clean and does the job. It is in a good position, easy walk to city centre attractions and restaurants its 5 mins to the railway station. My son and i had a family room with a double and single bed. Its not clear from the listing that parking is availble free but you validate it at reception. I made the mistake of paying in the car park on arrival, as the signs in the car park say!

Did not sleep all night, the noise from the below Alien night club and the strip bar from 10pm to 7am was ABYSMAL! Also booked with Expedia at one cost and was charged DOUBLE at the property. Breakfast was OK and edible.

Hotel needs a good clean

Hotel is lokking a little ropey around the edges. The carpet on the corridors was filthy and needs a good clean. The lift also was quite dirty. The room itself was clean but basic. The bed however was comfortable. There was no remote for the TV so had to operate manually. Breakfast was OK but nothing special.

Ive stayed in this hotel before and would definitely stay again. The roooms were fairly basic but were very clean and ideal for our requirements. Tea and coffee was available, the shower was good and the beds were comfortable but lacked a second pillow. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly.

Great- simple and functional!

Hadn’t been to an Ibis for many years however I was delighted that all was I recalled. Clean, simple but more than adequate, staff were nice, breakfast was better than many high end hotels.
Location great and with parking makes a big difference ( parking slots are run by an external company and are built to maximise slots not to fit modern cars easily!)

Convenient to City Center, staff was fine but neighborhood a bit on the loud / rough side (shares parking lot with a strip club). No face cloths or towels smaller than gigantic, room very hot with no AC controls, only coffee available without dining in is very expensive, no table or chairs in room, teensy closet and no chest or drawers, small prefab add-in bathroom that required a foot in the shower to use the toilet. Seems like there have to be better options

Carlisle City Centre IBIS

Functional but very noisy as described in previous reviews. This is not the hotels fault but people screaming at 4 in the morning is something that perhaps need to be raised with the surrounding businesses and council.

Over priced and located next to a cluster of noisy night clubs and bars. Although ear plugs were provided free of charge. Bed very uncomfortable. Building was filthy and stank.

The staff however were pleasant and polite and helpfull.

Concern is more the management and over seeing. Company clearly doesnt care much about customer comfort and satisfaction.

Breakfast was charged at double rate on here! £21 Expedia clearly extorting!

They think it's all over

A very easy to use budget hotel in a usefully central position. Car-parking was very useful, if difficult to find at first. What spoiled it for us was the noise outside our first floor window, with late-night rowdiness and vomiting followed by a cacophany of morning deliveries summed up by the voice of a driver after what sounded like the collapse of a building saying 'well if they weren't awake before, they are now, haha!'
