Hotel is a little dated and tatty round the edges. But it’s clean and tidy. It does need a bit of TLC. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

WiFi is free but it didn’t reach our room fully so that was a bit of a negative.

Overall a comfortable stay, the place just needs a little spruce up!

I had booked 4 rooms in total for 8 friends for 4 nights. Took them 2 hours to find the fourth booking.
Arrived home to find I had a total of £70 parking fines although I had registered the hired vehicle on the hotel registration form at reception.
Sent 4 emails to the hotel with no response. £70 taken out of my account from the hired van company because they received the fines also.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel had a few things that looked tired or needed fixing like a light on the stairs and lots of potholes in the carpark. Didn’t have breakfast. The room was clean and warm as was the rest of the hotel. There was a small step into the bathroom that was easy to trip on and some boxing by the foot of the foot that was the same.

The King size beds or the double bed was just 2 single beds pushed together . No soap in the bathroom, no plug in the sink., The bar was occupied by none resident people who took all the comfortable seats leaving just wooden uncomfortable stools. for us The bar had no staff to Only 1 lady who was running back and forward from bar ro receptions. we had one drink and left as we were not going wait to be severed. Breakfast well it was meant to start at 8am ,a plate of beans and tomato's came out 8:10 5 mins later some eggs cam out, we than had to go back each time to get sausages .ash brown and bacon . many guest had to wat for another dish of eggs to be cooked . It really not what I would say a good service as only had one cook who did everything no other staff. to be honest I have stayed at many hotels all over the UK and around the world and this hotel was the worst we have stayed in . you cut back on staff and you end up with a real bad hotel. Trip adviser should be told about what I call the Hotel to avoid at all cost.. The Breakfast came in drib and drabs and the hot plate was not even cleaned from the day before . you really need to ke stock of what I am sayingtal

Staff at reception . Very friendly polite. But unfortunately only gave 3 stars because breakfast was not nice hash brown still cold odd 1 still frozen in middle . And when i got down to breakfast i wasnt late but nothing left apart from bean tomatoes and the last 2 hash brown. My room was cold radiator not working. I told staff and was going get someone look or put heater in the room. I got neither . Could do with spruce up in rooms doors mainly and bedroom furniture big let down. I would had gone elsewhere if i knew i was going expect this

Although an unusual building, looking like a school or offices, it was absolutely fine - warm, comfortable and quiet, which is all you want for an overnight stop. We were a little apprehensive becuase it was so cheap, but the reviews said it was fine, which it was, hence a bargain

The staff were friendly, we checked in with no problems. The hotel is very basic, needs a lot of updating and modernising if they want to attract more people. Car park on site. Bar, pool table, very run down darts board, table tennis, basic gym. Breakfast was okay, cereal, toast, buffet for hot foods. I wouldn't pay their £9.99 fee if they charged that. We pre paid for the \"continental\" at £2.99 which would have been cereal and toast but the staff on duty just said help yourself to whatever you want. Plenty of hot food was coming out. If you are looking for somewhere literally to sleep and very cheap this is suitable. The hotel was busy but I think it was being used by people as an overnight stay to maybe rest before driving further in to Scotland, we seen a few people who looked like ramblers. The room was very basic, but clean. The hotel is pretty run down and needs a massive injection of money to update and modernise.

Room was clean, bed spotless with nice white bedding. Toilet was clean and nice white towels too. Room a bit dated but absolute bargain for the price.

Staff were very friendly, one man to do reception and bar, that was ok too, but could take a while if reception busy, not the server's fault. Bar prices reasonable.

Only thing was it looked not very nice from outside and funny smell in the morning in the corridor, it was like smoke stuff ughh.

Breakfast was nice, bit of a miss mash as different items were put out at different times so breakfast took a while but we weren't in any hurry and enjoyed it, full buffet with toaster to make brown or white toast and tea or coffee.

Room clean and comfortable, staff great. We've been a few times when it was The Milton Hilltop. Not much has changed. It's not a posh hotel but for a night or two it's absolutely fine. Bit worn in places but rooms, bathrooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast food is freshly cooked and very nice. Not many staff but very efficient and friendly.
Half the price of other local hotels but just as good. Nice walk, not too long, into the town centre. Get there early, big car park but it fills up, it's a popular place.

I found out through word of mouth that tgis was used formerly for asylum seekers, and it felt that way. Radiator in the room didnt work, i had to use the plug in one out of the wardrobe. Internet was practically non-existent. No spoons in the room, wooden stirring sticks. Bed was atrocious. The worst hotel ive stayed in. I've never been to prison, but id imagine its not much worse than this.

Staff are lovely but seriously you expect people to arrive to a room that actualy has no heating and even the window is left open 9pm when it’s 1 day short of November - but it’s ok you can “ask” for an electric heater 😬 anyone would think it was a third world country - the door knob to the bathroom comes off leaving and daughter was petrified she was going to get stock in there and the sockets don’t all work. The decor could also do with a clean up! Don’t like to moan - I stayed last year and it suited our needs - not looking for plush but surely heating is a basic requirement - don’t think we’ll be back. For clarity first told it was on a timer - it clearly wasn’t and when I explained this is the morning I was told no no we have electric heater if required so it was clearly know there was no heating.

The hotel is perfect for contractors, cheap, clean rooms be it some dated, free parking, bar area, restaurant. What else do you want for the price clean room, lovely staff, free gym!! One thing I would like is a new dart board as it’s realty old but still nice to chill in the bar area have a drink after a long shift and throw a few darts

Check in was fab jack is brilliant very friendly and helpful showed us to our room which were together as had my 2 daughters with us, no heating in both rooms jack brought us up some heaters, but didnt heat up the room as daughters woke up really cold, no wifi either couldnt connect all of us so had to use our data. then went down for breakfast the room hadnt been cleared most table hadnt been cleared of plates etc, not much food choice either as had to wait for items to come out, then overheard from conversation that their was no hash browns or sausages which meant my daughters couldnt have breakfast so that was a waste of money. The male staff member was trying to sort stuff out but their was another member of staff at the reception who didnt help at all just stayed by reception. No one told any of the other customers that their was no sausages etc.

We have stayed here every 2 weeks for the past 4 months and its normally fab and have already booked for next time and will continue to book as i think this hotel is fab just for some reason this weekend wasnt the best.
