Had a number of issues, starting with the fact that I'd booked a 'quiet' room and nevertheless was booked into a room on the first floor, directly above the noisy bar. Only when challenged did the hotel agree to move me to a second floor room further away.

Despite this I still heard the music from the bar until around midnight. The hallways additionally have dividing doors that slam if guests don't close them softly, so that wakes you throughout the night. Overall not a quiet/restful night.

The room was also not in great condition, with signs of leaks from above (staining to bathroom/bedroom ceiling). The shower ('rainfall') literally poured water over the top of the shower head which went everywhere.

In summary I'd not choose to stay here again.

The room was set up for 1, ie: 1 glass, 1 tea bag, 1 ser of ear plugs. Check in was not smooth. Carpet stained. The biggeat thing that would stop us returning is the big pile of vomit from the nightclub which could have easily been cleared up first thing and swillwd away with hot soapy water.

Although when I booked the room was advertised as a noisy room, I assumed that meant noise from other guests. Had I known it was because there is a nightclub in the hotel I would not have paid £135 to stay there for one night! It is so noisy you can clearly hear the music being played downstairs!!

Great hotel but on a Saturday night it is a nightclub. I could not sleep until that stopped at 1 am. I lay in bed identifying every song. Not just a bit of pub noise, booming loud music. It was excessively noisy. Otherwise it was a very nice place to stay

if my rating is only average is because the reception area is letting the hotel down, the carpet on the floor looks really worn out and there was no receptionist when we got there , we need it to wait for him to come down.
the bar club area can get a strange atmosphere at night.

The air conditioning in room 304 does not work. Even with the curtains closed it was 31C on check in around 16:00 and by 20:00 it was still 29C and overnight never got below 23C.

I stay in the area weekly and have stayed in that room before (maybe 2 years ago) and informed staff that A/C didn't work.

Vomit on the ramp outside the front door, there since last week, had not been cleaned up.

No breakfast any more, but there is a good cafe (Ikon) around the corner.

Stayed for 2 nights. Generally tidy and well maintained room. Decent sized and comfortable bed. Facilities such a fridge, kettle and coffee machine in the room. Decent barroom. Little bit noisy of an evening above the lounge but they provided ear plugs so sleep was not majorly disturbed. Walking distance of the station and Wetherspoons next door. Good location.

Mid week stay was good overall. 3rd floor room had no noise from the bar but it is on a main road so some noise from road. Fantastic location. Isnt really a reception so in the morning no one about, no one answerd the phone number and no process to self checkout. Had there been a major issue not sure what would have happened. I just had to leave my key card and hope i can get a receipt emailed to me.

I recommend this hotel. Location is excellent: a short walk to the train into London. The rail connection to/from Gatwick is good, one change at Clapham Junction. There are a bunch of coffee shops, pubs, and a grocery store closeby.
I was upgraded to a terrace room. It was super clean. The interior is modern and stylish.
My room on the top floor was quiet. There is a bar downstairs so at weekends the higher floors might be worth paying extra for.
The building security seems good. Two sets of secure rooms to get to each floor.
The staff are nice. Expedia hadn’t passed on the grade of room I’d paid for, however they accommodated me and actually upgraded my room.
The only con I have is that the bathroom mirror lighting is dim, a triumph of design over function. But it was a minor issue for me.

Worst Ever Hotel Stay

Unbelievably loud music playing in the bar kept me awake until 1am. When I complained about this at reception I was told that I must have ‘chosen a loud room’.

The stay then became comically bad when at about 6am water starts flooding down from the ceiling in the corridor outside, with smaller leaks in my room. At this point I cut my losses and checked out. Awful.

A serene and groovy little bolthole, a little at odds with Surbiton’s fusty purgatory, but if you’re lucky you can make it from the hotel to the beautiful art deco train station without pausing for breath, and you will be away. Very good hotel. Highly recommended.

I booked a \"quiet\" room but found that when we arrived at our room late evening below us was a nightclub! Which continued until 1am. I called the reception and was told they were fully booked and there was nothing that could be done. I was to complain on the monday, which i will do. The room was nice, just very disappointed. We got no sleep!

One night stay during renovations.

Hotel is being renovated, we only saw our room as all other facilities were closed. Opened our door in the morning to find a ladder right outside and the ceiling down, workmen started work about 8am right above our room. Could have warned us!
Room was ok, bed comfortable, served the purpose for a 1 night stay. No staff on duty when checking out, so just left key on desk and left.

room was nice, modern, clean, spacious, quiet. everything that I wanted. Bur beware 1: the check-in. Nobody on site, no repones to intercom or phones, couldn't get in and had to wait outside for 20 mins until a random appearance of staff. 2: there is a club downstairs, was closed during my trip, thankfully, but I'd be wary of room noise when it re-opens. There a earplugs available in the bathroom, which says something about noise nuisance.

Nice enough hotel but with the bar/restaurant area under refurnishment and reception unmanned unless requested the place seemed deserted. I didnt see any staff except the person i summoned to reception via the outside intercom on arrival. Neither did i see other guests.

Rooms were nice, though tv old, and the shower was just weird. A pure example of style over functionality. The water came out at 90 degrees and the shower head couldnt be adjusted. Bathroom *looked* fabulous, but i'd have preferred a shower i could stand under.

Despite my booking stating that I had breakfast included in the room rate, upon check in we were told that the dining room was closed for refurbishment. We were offered a small discount for breakfast at a cafe over the road but didn’t take it up. Other than being very conveniently placed for what we wanted to do over the weekend, there was nothing spectacular about Hotel Bosco. There was nothing wrong with our room and the bed was very comfortable to be fair, but overall for what we paid, I would have expected a bit more pizzazz!

Lovely hotel in Surbiton half an hour away by train to the centre of London. Great place for local exploration or for going into the \"big smoke\". The hotel itself is very comfortable. Saturday evenings can be a bit noisy in their pub area and the next day the breakfast area can be a bit dirty with spelt bear, especially on the seats. So this needs better attention. All in all is a very comfortable hotel well located and close the the train station.

Iv'e stayed many times, but this time there was no pohone in the room. Making it difficult to get an early morning wake up call. The hotel should consider having some way of allowing wake up calls, either by having a preprogrammed telephone system or even, as many hotels do, a radio with a clock and alarm system. Great hotel but it really should advertise the fact that the restaurant and bar are closed on a Sunday and not only can you not check in before 2pm, you can’t even leave your bags anywhere as the place is locked up with no staff on site!
Regardless of this, the hotel was lovely, quiet, comfortable and great value. Breakfast was also lovely. Will definitely stay again

The room was very comfortable and well-appointed and the hotel is in an ideal situation pretty much opposite Surbiton station. This hotel was converted ten years ago or so from an office block and the furnishings seemed up to date. Breakfast was good - no cooked breakfast from what I could tell but cereals, bread items, cold meats, cheese, pastries etc. The dining area - which I've visited before as it also operates as a cafe-bar - has a variety of seating areas including secluded places facing out to the street, which I liked.

In the modern style there is no room phone to call reception but they do put a card by the bed telling you what number to call if you need anything. Staff were generally friendly and interactions were good.

Storage space was adequate for the two nights I stayed. The only quibble I had with the bathroom was that bath/shower unit - I spent some time trying to work out how it functioned, and there's a risk of scalding or soaking yourself if you get it wrong. It really needs instructions.

I would be wary of the noise issue though, given what other reviewers have said: downstairs can be noisy Fridays and Saturdays, and the pub is next door to a large Wetherspoons.

In all, a good stay and a good experience.

Having read previous reviews, in particular about noise on weekends, we were a little worried. But there was nothing to worry about. Our room was on the second floor and we weren't disturbed at all. Aircon was amazing, the bed was very comfortable (loads of storage!) Breakfast was simple continental but high quality, especially the coffee. This hotel knows how to do the basic things really well. Staff were all lovely and the service was excellent.

Only shame was the Wifi, which we kept being unable to sign into and access (on multiple devices).

We will definitely stay there again!

The Hotel is in a great location for Surbiton station however that's as good as it gets for this review. Check in was easy and stress free. The room was on the first floor and was dirty. Three out of the four pillow cases were stained and the bath had not been cleaned (Toe nails in bath). The walls were stained with yellow stuff and the kitchen extraction fan was right outside our window.

To the rear of our room was a yard and at 0600hrs the yards forklift started. Breakfast is very poor with the pastries being stale and there are eggs however you are expected to boil them yourself.

I appreciate business have to make money however we paid a lot for this room and it was as if the Hotel didn't want us to return before we had even arrived.

A simple overnight stay. No one to greet us at reception. What I mean by that is that you should be able to freely enter a hotel and not have to use a buzzer and wait to get in.

Oddly the bar was not open during the day until 5 PM so used the pub next door for refreshments. Lost revenue for the hotel.

Arrived back from our event to see the bar was heaving as it is used as a late-night venue. Not impressed that fighting was taking place outside the entrance of the bar.

This property is a very close walk from the train station which made it very convenient for us.
I was surprised to note that one of the amenities we found in the room was one pair of foam earplugs and we laughed thinking they must know about my husband’s snoring….it was only later that night that we discovered that a dj plays music very loudly in the restaurant below our room. Although the windows seem well insulated we did still hear the thumping of the music 2 floors below as well as lots of loud voices talking and shouting in the street. Not sure if this only happens on the weekends or if it is every night.

Room noisy constant humming all night breakfast was very disappointing cold meat and cheese only cooked item was a boiled egg which you had to cook yourself in a machine that spat boiling water everywhere. No staff on sight in evenings. No food when arrived have to eat out. Situated next to a Wetherspoons not the best. Would not stay here again.
