When we arrive at the room the room had not been cleaned, there was hair everywhere, the condition of the room, which I took pictures of, was poor and no plug for the bath, I told the staff about the room and they cleaned it and apologised but this should have happened

We were in the area visiting relatives and needed somewhere to stay the night which was reasonably priced, although it wasn't particularly cheap, it was convenient and clean, and the chap in reception was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel at home, all in all, it worked out well, we would stay again if the occasion arose.

It was a great stay! I wasn't expecting much because of the price but the room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but the shower wasn't great. The restaurant attached to the hotel wasn't the nicest decor but the staff were great and the food was delicious! I'd definitely stay there again if I was in the area. thanks!

The bed was clean and comfy, all the furniture was dated, the bathroom was tiny, I had to wedge myself in between the sink and the wall to use the toilet (the sink was digging into my arm) the soundproofing was awful and the property needs a lot of updating, including frayed divan bases, all walls were scuffed and stained. There is parking (the listing says no parking), but the gym is a 5 minute drive away and is 'discounted' reception is not always open and the wifi was down, a discount in the resturant was offered instead. the outside areas are not at all appealing and the window looking out to it was tiny

Had a wonderful stay here room was spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable. Gentleman at reception was very polite and helpful. Did not use restaurant or bar as we were late arriving however overall very nice stay will definitely return.

The hotel was nothing like the photos on the website. The room was clean and large with coffee making etc and clean towels, but the restaurant was non existent! The bar area was filthy and the actual restaurant closed. I was offered food to be delivered to my room in a take-away box, which was a reasonable standard for take-away, but not for hotel service! I tried to order breakfast for the following morning, but no one answered the phone. The receptionist when I arrived was pleasant and helpful but their appearance was not that of the usual receptionist (as shown in their website). My room was outside, up a flight of metal stairs-no offer of help with luggage. In fact, the whole place looked as though it was closing down!, especially the restaurant.

2nd stay so can’t be that bad
Stopped here for the 2nd time for work, overall a good comfortable hotel, only thing I don’t like is the blinds in the room, they don’t block out enough light, so if they changed those, would be more than happy. Great friendly prompt service, comfortable bed, shower/bath all good, good WiFi too.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room was clean and what you'd expect for the price you pay. Comfortable bed, tea, coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate provided as well as toiletries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very easy to park at the hotel. Only bad thing about the stay was the headboard in the room was scuffed and the location of the hotel isn't in walling distance to shops, restaurants etc. However the hotel has a bar and restaurant attached. Would stay again :)

Newly furnished and would describe more like a motel.
Accommodation situated to the side , two storeys,steps to second floor. We had a family Room with two double large comfy beds with tea, coffee, cappuccino and hit chocolate supplied for our son.
Slight problem with Electric shower tripping but resolved by helpful staff within minutes. Would stay again as it is near sons house.

Adequate hotel, although more of a motel style accommodation with each room having a front door onto a walkway. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and free beverages.
However... there were some noisy people in the room below, drinking and singing until gone midnight, and in the morning there was no hot water. Thankfully the shower was an individual electric heat as you go shower, and I was able to shave in the shower by feel.
The adjacent bar was “tired” and could do with some TLC.

The room was great, clean, well equipped, plenty of refreshments in room. However the joining restaurant was not so good, evening meal, food not cooked enough, hard potatoes , furniture uncomfortable. The next morning breakfast worse, only ricescrispes, no toast, no butter no staf to help. We walked out and found lovely cafe 2 mins down the road next to the train station called station cafe.

HOT CHOCOLATE
Due to travelling long distance a 4 hour drive to get there, and unfortunately a accident on the m1 it meant I would not get there while 3am that’s 3 hours after reception closes. The receptionist made arrangements for me to be able to get into my room, they also left me with GALAXY hot chocolate pouches and bottled water.

Room was ok clean but dated and parts of the headboard was peeling off. The bar we had to ring a bell to be seen. The furniture again was all flaking and peeling the carpet dirty and tired and the stains on the cushions were awful the whole place was not nice at all more like a hostel. Would not recommend

The family room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. We had two large double, comfortable (possibly king-size) beds and the room was well equipped.
I have to say this was in stark contrast to the run down, shabby on-site bar/restaurant - though this is not directly connected to the hotel accommodation, so is [thankfully] easily avoided .
Rooms are cleaned daily and to a very high standard .
Over all we were very pleased - especially given the reasonable price at peak season .
The only issue was that the WiFi connection to our room was basically non-existent , but on balance it was well worth staying here.

At a concert in Cardiff saturday night so booked here as less than 25 min drive from City Stadium. 3 bed room for ourselves and our adult daughter. Staff at check in really very helpful - let us check in early and advice on travelling. Room was basic but clean so what else is needed for a nights stay? Breakfast next day was good and late checkout till 12 noon was automatic which was a bonus. I would stay here again if in Cardiff.

The staff we saw were very helpful and kind the room was clean but with only one window it was dull in the room in the daytime however at night the room was flooded in light for all night from an outside light from a warehouse type of building whos lights were directed at the hotel rooms it was so light we couldn't sleep the two nights we were there.

Only two things were good. One, Initially after the booking, manager stayed till very late till I check in as I was working 2am in the morning. Two, beds was clean and comfy. Rest of it was mess. Absolutely terrible stay ever, apart from the cleanliness the hotel 'sound proof' rooms were just really bad, you could hear other couples very loudly without any consideration, I came here to get a goodnight sleep but was kept awake from the whole night screaming.

Indian restaurant on the premises, nice breakfast & lovely setting with a bar too. Safe to I slept like a baby falling asleep watching tv on the big screen tv and extremely comfy bed with the LED lights on around the room. Great location too! Would highly recommend! A little gem!

The rooms were good, the worst breakfast I have ever had, do not recommend that, hotel was fine, the service was good, just a pity the breakfast wasn’t up to scratch as we had to leave at 7:30, we were their at 7am, didn’t get the cooked breakfast until 7.32am, how disappointing.

Upon arrival the man on reception was so friendly and helpful, went to room 3 which was immaculate, all mod cons were available and beds really comfy, was a little bit noisy with people from next door stood outside talking on telephone but was only for about 10 mins and was still reasonably early, free parking and WiFi was great and we tried the Indian restaurant which was really good food and service. Breakfast was good too and a decent selection , will stay again on our next visit

On arrival we waited 15 minutes to be served in the bar. It was very messy, carpet dated, furniture very old and worn, had to phone a member of staff to be served. Drinks were served and tasted awful, my gin and tonic had no ice or lime in it my husbands pint tasted like it was off. We drank a couple of sips and left it. When going in to check in there was nobody on reception we had to ring the bell four times, receptionist wasn’t very helpful looked as though he couldn’t wait to get out of work. The room was ok, it smelt a little on arrival, the bathroom floor was flooded from the towel warmer leaking all over the floor, and it was very noisy. We were woken several times middle of the night to what sounded like people rearranging furniture. Overall, I don’t believe this stay was worth £150 per night at all; I think we were very overcharged for what we had. Would definately not stay again.

Stayed here for an overnight stay after a Wedding at Hensol Castle. It was basic but comfortable and clean for what we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly but the Breakfast let it down.

I had to call the hotel from reception in order to check in. The room wasn’t cleaned while i was there (2 nights). The bracket to hold the shower head to the wall was broken so I had to hold it while showering which is a little tricky. There was no hairdryer in the room. But the bed was comfortable enough

Luckily we were only staying one night. The room was basic (which was reflected in the price so we weren’t expecting much). It did smell of cigarettes a little and was so cold i slept fully clothed. We’d forgotten toothbrushes so the chap at reception provided those and seemed helpful enough. The bathroom was clean (but dated decor).
We walked into the ‘restaurant’ and walked straight out again because it was literally a building site. I’m sure it will be ok once completed, or you judt need a bed for the night, but there’s not a lot else going for it currently unfortunately

Simple but good hotel
On arrival we were greeted pleasantly. We had to pay an extra £10 for early arrival (by an hour) but to be fair it is a 12 0'clock check out so he did explain they had to get the room ready early. Quiet area but there are pubs/restaurants a short walk away and also a train station. We used the bus as we couldn't get on the train as was full due to the rugby being on. The room was clean bed was comfy. Tea/coffee facilities in the room and bottled water. We chose to pay for the breakfast form the morning which we instantly regretted once we walked in to the restaurant part of the hotel not to be greeted by anyone .. there was fresh orange juice tea/coffee facilities on a table. eventually a lady appeared from the kitchen still not greeted. A couple that came in after us was served first then decided to eventually serve us. The breakfast was rubbish, annoying when you have a long journey a head of you, this needs to be dealt with as lets the hotel down. I would recommend this hotel but would not recommend the breakfast to friends.

We chose this hotel mainly for it's location. It is adequate for purpose. Plenty of parking, free Wi-Fi, comfortable bed although obviously well used. Loads of storage space. Not too keen on the shower curtain, and the shower itself is at the wrong end of the bath. Could do with more lighting over the bed area, only one bedside light. Attention to detail could have been better when refurbishment took place. Good for the price though.

Nice rooms..clean bedding but the bathroom had not been cleaned and my wife had to go and ask for cleaner and a cloth and clean it herself before we could use it.... The cups had not been cleaned either.....we were warned about the restaurant so went to the local pub instead... we did go in the bar but came out just as quick the smelll from the kitchens was awful and the whole place looks tired and in need of a good clean and a lick of paint

The guy at the front was pleasant and polite. The bed was very comfortable and the room had been recently renovated. Not too much in the immediate area other than commercial units, but if going somewhere near it is a good place to stay.

Perfect for my needs. Was on business and it did not disappoint, wifi was ok and got a good mobile signal (02). Restaurant next door was good for Indian meal, didn't try the breakfast but it was £6 so you can't really grumble. TV was a good sized one and room well set out with coffee tea etc.

No Second Visit for Me !
Not my type of hotel, if when booking I had seen rooms were separate in an American Hotel style I would have gone elsewhere, maybe the website needs to show photo not just restaurant photo. Hotel was in an industrial estate which was not to my liking. However the restaurant food was good and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was obscure, weird feeling sitting in an Indian restaurant fully ready for the evenings trade at breakfast ! also the whole lay out of breakfast was odd, couple of t bags, sachets of coffee and sugar in a basket, very \"couldn't really care\" way of presenting. Booked 4 breakfasts only took two.The rooms were not as pristine as on the website but bed linen and towels clean, rooms are bit tatty if you look closely. Guests in next room allowed children to run up and down metal stairs outside which was noisy and guests smoke just outside rooms which drifts in the windows. Reception was not same as photo on website don't know where the décor came from but smaller and completely different in décor ! All in all I won't be visiting again.

On arrival I was told the restaurant would be open that evening when I arrived at reception I was told to go somewhere different as they were only catering for a party ,

Stayed for 1 night, rooms are ok but in need of a referb... and smell like mould... however the beds are comfy and we needed it as a bed for the night so it suited a purpose... the shower wasn't great as it didn't stay in place so you needed to hold it to shower... on checking the guy was friendly and offered us breakfast which we took but on arrival to breakfast no one was to be seen until a lady walked through and said she closed breakfast as the contractors had all been ( it was 8 am when we got there) she did reopen everything but it all seemed a little disorganised... food was ok but the hash browns had clearly been fried in the same oil as the onion bargies ... parking is good and it's good for concerts at the principality stadium...

The hotel served its purpose as a stop over for a trip to Cardiff. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a meal in the Indian restaurant which was very good the only problem was the lack of staff, only the manager who was barman and waiter. The same person was on duty for breakfast the next day only this time he had to cook as well, we had to keep asking for things as he had no time to replenish them. Unfortunately this spoiled the stay.
