Easy access to the guest house and my room with a code. Very convenient location for attending an event at the Utilita arena. Regarding cleanliness there were some issues:-the carpets in the room and hallways are dirty, very worn chair in my room, dirt on wall and very dark stains on duvet and mattress protector that can be seen through the sheets. The bathroom facilities all looked very clean. Overall it’s a nice guesthouse.

Although the price seems reasonable, Austin's is not good value. It is more of a backpacker's hostel than any sort of a guest house.
It is conveniently located across the river from the downtown, but there is no parking in the area except for permitted residents of the neighbourhood. The nearest paid parking is at the Sophia Gardens bus depot about 500 m away. Cost is ~ 25L per day.
There are very few restaurants or other services in the immediate area (but would recommend the cafe across the river from the Sophia Garden car park for breakfast). But downtown is about a 10-15 minute walk.
The shower doors on our unit were about to fall off and were difficult to close. Our bathroom sink's drain was plugged however there was a shared washroom for some other rooms a floor down. People coming and going can be rather noisy.
There was a kettle in our room that appeared to not work until we discovered that the breaker for it was turned off.
Carpet was dirty--almost to the level of \"ikky\".

Great guest house if you're on a budget. Certainly no frills, all self service but clean and well run place. V near city centre also

Great apartment when made up for two rooms
Stayed here for Oasis opening night so it was much more expensive than usual - wasn't everything! Super close to the stadium. Very clean. Didn't get the pre-arrival email but called the emergency line at the front door and was given the codes - really nice chap on customer service who was really helpful. Was expecting a two room apartment so he immediately sent someone over to make up the double sofa bed in the lounge. Has everything you need. Would use again if going to Principality Stadium.

The staff and especially Kenan were always helpful and very friendly on the phone. The rooms are clean but the partitions between rooms as so thin that in the rooms with shared bathrooms, in one of the accommodations, everything that happens in the next room can be heard.

Be careful staying at this property I booked this place through experia and paid £153.00 in March 2024 I was staying on the 15th of March 2025. For tonight. Then I notice on my bank account that £114.00 from my bank account without and warning. I have asked experia to sort this out without no result so Austin’s guesthouse has taken more money without warning me before. So be careful very careful I will not be booking this place again very unhapp.

This is a very reasonable and nice place to stay for the price. Upon arrival, I was confused about which property I would be staying in, but after opening the doors and reading the signs posted inside, it’s very straightforward. The woman next to me did not have a code for her room and struggled to reach anyone at ~9pm, so, if you’re reading this, make sure you have your code ahead of time. The rooms are small and quaint. The only two complaints I had were that the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and that there is a shower in the room, but no toilet. The second point is mostly a mild inconvenience, but the bad part is that, because the flooring in the room is carpeted, it leaves a bit of a wet smell which goes away after a few hours but still leaves me feeling as if there may be a mold issue under the carpet. Despite these issues, I had a nice time and found it well worth the price. Diolch!

Having the option of this room made my life so much easier, plus the location… the only reason I took off a star was because of the bed, they need to change the bases round as the one at the top of the bed was broken, which didn’t really help my sciatica, but apart from that, would definitely come back!

If you até booked on Austins 2 be aware that there are no kitchen facilities. There is onde bathroom tô ne shared with at least 10 rooms which can be sometimes busy. Otherwise, Thais self check in accomodatiom was clean and confortable to stay 1 or 2 days If you stay all day out. There are no kitchen facilities.

Room was conveniently located for Principality, and infact overlooked it. Self check in instructions were accurate. Room itself, the bed was comfy. However my biggest issue was not having any contact number to deal with an issue I had, namely no power to kettle, hairdryer or TV.

It's very reasonably priced and in a perfect central location. Central enough to walk around but not on the main street, so a quiet night sleep is guaranteed! Only downside is the slightly off smell of the carpets/exterior (a couple of plug in air freshners would make a huge difference!) will happily stay again!

Pros: good location, close to the station and easy to get to. Very clear check in instructions. Cheap price and decent cleanliness. Comes with tea making facilities. There’s heating in the room.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get through to the hotel at all after 5pm on the day prior and the day of my arrival. Both days the message said that they’re closed until tomorrow! I was arriving late evening after working a long shift and finishing at 11:30pm hoping to have an easy, worry free check in, however I needed some help as I couldn’t find any of my access codes and key codes to access my room, but to no avail from the hotel as there’s nobody to check you in it’s all self service! Eventually after an hour hotels.com managed to help me check in.
When I did arrive my tv was not working, no signal at all no matter what I tried and had no tv the whole time I was there as there was nobody to contact to get assistance!
Incredibly noisy with people entering at all hours through the loud and heavy doors with the constant sound of people inputting their key codes beeping throughout the night. I was on the bottom floor and couldn’t sleep a wink

Solo visit to Cardiff
Check in was seamless (and fast) and so too was checkout. Room was clean, towels and toiletries including soap were provided. Town center, Bute Park and Cardiff Castle are just a short walk away and the view from thw front door is of principality stadium and a river. A very good stay overall.

You get what you pay for. Paper thin walls so I could hear convos in every surrounding room. Music and noise from apartments sharing a wall. Don’t expect a good night sleep here. The check out is also too early.

We came to our first guest room and the shower door had completely fallen off and tried to ask cleaners for help but they weren’t much help. So had to call the number your given on the email they came and tried to fix it but it came off so after a few calls back and fourth they did move us rooms and after that it was really good

When I’ve moved the side table looking for a outlet to charge my phone , I saw an empty packet of crisp. Carpet is dirty. The only toiletries in there was a bottle of shower gel. The temperature gauge of the water is broken and we shower with hot water for the two nights of our stay.

Very clean, comfortable guest house. However, the major problem was handful of other guests. First, a gay party above my head made me to immediately change the room, for the one situated beneath somebody who was snorring like a dragon and moving furniture from an early morning. What you could do is to install eg. visible signs with rules: \"no jumping on stairs\" \"quiet after 22:00\" \"no smoking marijuana inside\" \"parties outside\". Quality of sleep was bad.

Excellent Location. Good price. Great Kitchen. I returned because of everything they had 2 years ago but this time the room was a but run down. A sporadic digital TV connection, Poor Internet connection and if working, was very slow. Poor flushing toilet. Shower door track disengaged, Unable to adjust shower faucet, only very hot. It was a cosy and lovely room with the absolute basic amenities (but no communal areas which is expected in a guest house). Took a really long time for the room to warm up but once it had it was lovely. The bed was very creaky and uncomfortable and my room only had blinds, no curtains so it was too light to sleep. Other than this, the room was nice but basic, the tea and coffee making facilities were really good and the ensuite was in a nice condition - other than the constant noise from either the tank or the pipes or whatever made it. The guesthouse is in decent range of the town and if you're looking for a very basic stay for a short period of a night or two then it'd do. You do get what you pay for though!

The location is perfect. It would have been nice if the shared toilet/bathroom is cleaned everyday since the smell of urine is so strong. My room was located at the lower ground floor and I can hear all the footsteps, doors opening and banging and the guests upstairs talking. Nevertheless, the location is perfect if you dont mind the cons I mentioned.

The guest house is in a fantastic location and very convenient to get into Cardiff. The rooms were large and great value. The one problem we had ( the battery in the fire alarm was low and kept beeping) was dealt with quickly once I rang the emergency line. The only negative thing was the bathroom smelt and we had to keep the door closed as it was off putting.

There was some confusion about my check in but most important for me is that staff acknowledged the mistake and apologized. Mistakes happens. The room was clean although loud as the neighbor next door had such a lovely conversation for most of the night but for this price in such a good and convenient place in Berlin I really cannot complain.

Nice clean place. If you arrive early you can drop your bags at the near by Anchorage Guesthouse. You need a door code to enter Austins, (note there is Austins and Austins 2. Which are next door to each other) which will be emailed to you. If you have no Internet connection, they can send you the doir code by text.

Got to Cardiff early and were able to leave our luggage at Anchorage house. They brought the luggage to our room at Austin’s when room was ready. Room 5 with own bathroom was great. Tiny shower but comfy beds and clean.
