An easy walk from Cardiff Central railway station. Friendly, helpful staff. Outer security door answered promptly. The room, whilst dated, was clean & functional. Hot water & a decent water pressure in the shower. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Breakfast is no longer available but there were plenty of options in the city centre.

Basic, but adequate. Our room had a king size bed, but with a double mattress on, so the base over-hang on one side. The ceiling was dusty with cobwebs hanging off the polysterene tiles. Could hear the tv clearly from adjacent room(s). Location wise, was great, nice and central. Was fine for a night, but needs updating in general. The hotel offered a discount for overnight parking at one of the NCP car parks - except we'd already parked and checked in before being given this information on the check-in slip so we didn't move the car.

Very friendly welcome at his hotel placed in the city center.
Close to the castle and many wonderful shops and restaurants. The room was spacious with everything you could need. The beds comfortable and the room very clean. It is a little old fashioned but the low price and being in the city center makes this inconsequential. Would definitely use again.

The Hotel is located right in the city centre, nearby all the amenities including shops , restaurants and to the central train station. Very comfy room, but if you struggle with steps try to ask for the lowest room possible, as what happened when I finally got to the reception desk from the long staircase.
The lady on reception could see I struggled and offered me room 100, but there's still more stairs to tackle, no lift

Alison was a very friendly and welcoming host. She made us feel comfortable, very knowledgeable if good restaurants. Breakfast was superb, waitress was excellent and friendly. Rooms were comfortable as were only there for 2 nights. Needs updating on decor as a little dated however we wernt there to look at the decor. Will definitely be booking again in the summer of 2026.

A return visit for us, in the city for a concert at the arena. The hotel is central for most of the venues we go to in Cardiff, in the heart of the city centre and a very short walk to the train and bus stations. The staff are friendly and informative, we will stay again!

Lovely stay here. The staff is terrific and the room had everything I needed. The street traffic can be a bit noisy in the evenings, but I found that it died down by 10:00 to 11:00 PM. My room faced the street, and the view was worth it. Though I did use earplugs at night, my sleep was just fine. Thank you for making my experience in Cardiff so pleasant!

Disappointing inaccurate description

Hotel facilities were not as described. Web site said breakfast served daily but we arrived on a Tuesday to be told breakfast only available at weekends. Could not connect to wifi. No soap in toilet only shower gel in bathroom. Safety notice regarding hot water has taps wrongly labelled. If description had been accurate I would not have booked this hotel.

Pickleball visit

Hotel is a little tired but spotlessly clean and very good for the price. Good central location to get to anything in the city centre, secure parking 5 mins walk away. Excellent restaurant downstairs which the hotel will get you a discount voucher for. Best part of the experience were the two receptionists we met who were helpful friendly and smiley- an absolute asset to the business!

A very nice family run hotel in Cardiff. Staff were excellent, very accomodating. Good size room/bathroom offering bathtub/shower, complimentary coffee/tea/biscuits also provided. This hotel is badly in need of a refit. The room I had was not very clean and very old tired furniture. Bathroom light a horrible industrial stark light whilst the room lights were very dark. Very shabby and would look great after a refit

Perfect Hotel in perfect location

Stayed here for 1 night so I could attend an Alice Cooper concert. The hotel was ideally located in the city centre, close to shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk from the concert venue.

The lady on reception was really friendly and helpful. The room was adequate, clean and tidy. Most importantly it had a kettle with tea and coffee.

I will definitely stay here again when i return to Cardiff

It's an old but well kept property bang in the city centre with shops, restaurants, pubs, the central train & bus stations nearby. It's so accessible that we had no need for transportation at all. The major drawbacks are that breakfast isn't available on week days and the hotel has no elevator, so get ready to log your heavy luggage all the way up flights of creaky stairs.

Me and my daughter stayed here on the 23/6/2025 when we came to see Lana Del Rey. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed by the lovely receptionist. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also well stocked with tea, coffee etc and a lovely treat of Welsh cakes. Location wise you can't go wrong either. You are in walking distance of Principality Stadium & the train station. So a couple of minutes walks to both. You are also close to lots of eateries & bars. You are in a central location. If we ever go back to Cardiff, we will definitely book here again, without a doubt
