The two stars are only because it was a good size apartment, near Cardiff Bay.

All I ever want is a clean apartment or hotel room, it's not rocket science. I don't need toiletries, just cleanliness. What I got was dirty smeared surfaces, a dirty rug with corners curled up, so we had to move as I kept tripping on it. Bedside lamp with no socket nearby, so totally useless. Marks all over the walls and an absolutely filthy free-standing fan. All these are easy fixes. Please improve your standards.

I will not book again.

1) Information from the concierge re parking was incorrect (I later discovered better information in the Welcome Pack that I had been given) and also the parking space numbers do not run in any order making it difficult to locate your allocated parking space. It also wasn’t easy finding our apartment block from the car park as we were parked opposite a different apartment block entrance.
2) The apartment was very cold on arrival (we kept our coats on for the first half an hour it was that cold) Turns out the heating hadn’t been put on so we had to locate all the heaters and turn them on manually.
3) I had booked an apartment with a balcony but that is not what we were allocated.
4)The bed was a SMALL double, not a standard double. My husband actually fell out of bed on our first night, fortunately no serious injuries.
5) There was no kitchen pack so we couldn’t properly wash any pots.
6) There was no plug for the bath so I couldn’t have a bath (yes there was a shower but I fancied a bath that evening!) We later discovered there was no plug for the kitchen sink either!

The management did rectify the kitchen pack (which should have already been in the apartment) and the bath plug, and they also offered a portable heater as the lounge had been slow the warm up, but that wasn’t required in the end.

Here's the reason for the 2 star rating:

-good location to shops, restaurants, transit, and Cardiff Bay.
-WIFI was good
-It was spacious with big rooms

NOT SO GOOD
-images used in advertisement of Century Wharf rental were false, images taken off the internet, we did NOT have a view of Cardiff Bay but of a road and maybe part of Taff River.
-The inside pictures also were not of the place that we were intending to stay at.
-no communication 48 hours before check-in
-wrong phone number to reach owner, Expedia had to reach out to them and basically the reservation fell through the cracks.
-no information on how to use the kitchen, and heating. we were able to reach out to organization to come in and show us how to use heaters.
-clothing rack for drying were two racks held together by zip ties
-oven was worn down and all the kitchen utensils and frying pans were seriously worn and the frying pans were well past due
-kitchen not well stocked with utensils
-the towel heater in first bathroom was falling off the wall.
-the ceiling lights in the first bathroom were almost all blown so the lighting was extremely dim
-the second bathroom - fan did not work, shower was moldy, leaking and not draining properly

False advertisment all around and would not recommend!

My booking described the room as, \"One Bedroom Apartment with Balcony\". As it was a ground floor apartment it had an enclosed patio. The crockery and cutlery were stained from where they had been in the dishwasher, one knife had food baked on it. The television was dated and the remote needs new batteries. The furniture in the bedroom was dated; the mattress was old and past its best. Some of the floor tiles in the bathroom were loose and/or cracked. The shower head was small and dated. Urban Space encourage you to recycle but don't leave you bags or containers to do so. The kitchen light would turn itself off after a few minutes.

It was ok, a bit underwhelming as from the pics and description I had expected a bit more. The property could use a refresh, seems tired and dated. The standard of cleaning left much to be desired. I had to tape a piece of tissue around the pull cord so I can use it as it looked minging and unhygienic- definitely needs replacing.
The only good thing was the bed, very comfortable, so that was a relief. I wouldn’t use again, sorry

Very good access point for most of the key things in Cardiff, on a sunny day there are some lovely walks nearby and walking in to the city centre took about 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, while we didn’t expect a super modern or high spec apartment, we were surprised by how bare boned it was.

You have everything you need but it really it is just somewhere to put your head down.

The TV is unreasonably old, and just didn’t work. There is a dvd player, it wasn’t flagged to us that we’d need to take some and while you generally don’t go away to watch tv, the option of some morning tv with our coffees would have been nice.

The shower had a severe and audible leak, whoever had cleaned the apartment must have been aware as the shower head was adjusted to lower the sound. This suggests to me little attention in the upkeep of the properties. There are also many mold spots in the bathroom which should be addressed.

On arriving, the concierge in century wharf were lovely to deal with, so helpful, supporting our parking issue, but don’t go to them for any needs after this point and there was one employee in particular who was pretty rude.

Ensure you book parking in plenty of time. We had phoned the day before about parking but I guess as it was an events weekend, the spaces were all sold out.

To be fair, I didn’t inform urban spaces of issues until the day of check-out. we were only there a few days and didn’t want to interrupt our time away.

There is a lot to be addressed.

El departamento es realmente muy espacioso, cuenta con lavavajillas, cocina, lavarropas y heladera.
El baño tiene un buen tamaño, es algo que siempre tengo en cuenta y tiene un armario para la valija y colgar algo de ropa muy amplio.
Si bien la condición general del departamento es un 7.5 cumple para estar unos dias.
En lo personal fui caminando todos los dias hacia el centro que son aprx 12 cuadras, es muy directo. Pero tambien tenia el bus al centro a 3 cuadras.
La zona es muy tranquila, residencial, hay varios edificios en el complejo y cuenta con pileta la cual no hice uso.

Truly awful experience

We booked 3 separate apartments for two nights. All three apartments unfortunately had issues.

The first had a leak beneath the bathroom floor tiles and a shower that was constantly dripping. We called maintenance but this was not fixed during our stay.

Apartment 2 had the entire front of the tub coming loose (photo attached).

Unfortunately the worst by far was apartment 3 which had actual mold growing on the toilet seat when we arrived (picture attached). I will note that they did move us to another unit but this was certainly not the way to start a vacation.

After all of these issues, it took over a month to receive a refund for one prepaid night which we had cancelled (well in advance of our stay mind you). We had been told that the refund would be issued as soon as we checked out - but after more than six emails asking for an update it was finally issued a month later - with a £15 service fee taken out.

Overall the property is run down and dated. It has the feeling of a low budget college dorm. I would not recommend. I

Affordable and secure parking.

The space was nice but we were not given a fob to get around the complex. We got lucky getting in and out of the parking area and complex itself. We did eventually speak to the concierge office who contacted urban space for us so we could get one. The other issue we had was that there was very little heating in the flat. The wall panel for the heating in the main room was broken and the hall way heating unit would say it was turned up to 26 but the floor did not feel warm. We were told it was underfloor heating but to be honest it felt like no heating. Otherwise it was a nice place and good walking distance to the mermaid quary.

It was OK, but very disappointed. - Started with poor directions, Reception staff did not even know how to direct me to the room or parking, very run down interior - needs pait and update. Not even close to 4 Star I searched for. View is of the next building 50 ft away - not the river or cityscape. Balcony was covered in dirt and moss, not useable. We booked 2 nights and left after one night. Not a fun place to stay, dark industrial area. It's a place to stay if you really need a place.

Good but parking communication was poor

My partner had a good stay in that were close to the city and had all the facilities that we needed.
The downside was that we had paid for a permit to park in the car park. However, we were not given the permit on arrival. We called and were told someone would be in touch and drop it off the following day. No one was in touch. It wasn’t nice worrying whether we were going to get a parking ticket during our two day stay. Luckily this wasn’t the case.

I paid extra for a balcony, I got a ground floor enclosed patio. overlooking rubbish. people walking past. no privacy. No heating in the bedroom, bath panel hanging off. The tiles in the bathroom floor were broken and lose. I cut my foot on the tiles. Bathroom door was very difficult to open as it rubs on the carpet, you need arm like Poppie to open and close the door. If you wanted to watch TV you needed to pull the settee forward by 6ft so you could see the TV(very small) and so the controls would work. Pulling the settee forward the legs fell of so I had to repair them. The mattress is cheap and uncomfortable you could feal every spring coil in the masteries, I even left this apartment early. Wouldn’t stay here. I would like some of my money back.

The location and check in are both as described and very convenient. The gated security seems somewhat senseless as the visitor gate is permanently open to the never ending ninja (clad in all black with no lighting and operating electrified bikes) delivery bike riders who zoom through the property. Main heating system did not function in master bedroom, toilet seat broken, swimming pool closed for two weeks which is a prominent advertised asset however booking agent was unaware. The door hinges have dropped on the balcony door allowing for wind noise on breezy evenings to whistle throughout. Dishwasher did not function as it was missing the start button and was not secured to the kitchen unit correctly so the entire thing rocks when you open the door. Oven needs a deep clean also. Tried to follow up with urban space team with zero success while staying there and chasing them for two weeks afterwards to follow up. Very disappointing communications follow up and ownership

The apartment was very clean and tidy in a nice area. About 15 minutes walk from Cardiff Bay, and 20 minutes from the city. Half a mile from Cardiff Bay station with good train links to various places.
We had couple of issues when we arrived but they were sorted out quickly by helpful staff.

It was a shame we didn't have a view from the balcony but we were on the ground floor.

More cutlery and crockery would be useful, especially as there is a dishwasher in the apartment ( two teaspoons is a bit limited.)

It’s an interesting property. I had a sixth-floor studio with balcony overlooking the river. It was well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was very little noise from neighbours, and none from outside. Pre-check-in communication, as well as checking in with the concierge, was great, but the ins and outs of navigating security and the layout of the place took a bit of getting used to. All in all, a positive experience.

I booked this trip for my partners birthday a short break in Cardiff to relax and what an amazing place easy to find, great communication a beautiful veiw from a private balcony of the river,parking is paid at £10 / day but left me feeling car was safe and secure and easy access to lifts , there are shops nearby and its not far to anywhere....a 10 minute walk to Cardiff bay or 20 minute walk to Cardiff city center......the kitchen had all the pots n pans youd need for a few days away cooking....i must add cos i read other reviews about communication....i had no issues contacted them few days befor we left from the booking email they sent initially ,all the details were in there all i should stress is make sure you contact them before the weekend as offices are closed on a weekend ...other than that what an amazing team and a fantastic apartment xxx

Nice big apartment, relatively well equiped. Mine was quite far from the entrance of the complex. Close to the Bay St train station, that brings you to the center in 4 minutes (or you can walk 15min).
A thorough cleaning would be needed, you could see dirty stains, paint missing, etc. So not for the pickiest of travelers, but in the ensemble a good option for a stay in Cardiff.

Very unclean - the floor was dusty and dirty, the bathroom wasn’t very clean as there was stale urine stains on the toilet bowl. We had to wash all of the plates and cups before we used them and we didn’t dare use any of the pans as they were covered in grease.
We opted to use the visitor parking, which is limited so we were unable to come and go as we pleased as we wouldn’t have been able to get another parking space. The other option was to pay £10 a day for a designated space, which we considered to be outrageous money just for a parking space. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying here again.

Trouble with key drop off arrangements as this was not as described by the greater. No toilet roll, however this was instantly fixed with a drop off following a phone call. Hand towels not provided. No bin liner provided, but was able to resolve ourselves.

Despite the above would happily stay again.

Location - very good, around 15 minute walk to Cardiff Bay and 20/25 mins walk to Cardiff Central/train station.

Check in/check out - straight forward and easy instructions despite us arriving around 11pm

Property - Felt safe within the complex, didn't use the leisure facilities so can't comment on this. The kitchen had plentiful items and had everything needed to cook a full family meal, nice touch with the milk in the fridge to make a hot drink on arrival. However, the bathroom didn't have a bath mat so had to be very careful when getting in and out of the bath, also noticed what looked like mould on some of the tiling, maybe extractor fan not working? Also noticed in the bedroom that there was cobwebs gathered in the corner near the window/ceiling, so does need a proper clean at some point!

Overall a comfortable stay, not in the property much as exploring Cardiff/local areas, walkable to the main attractions/locations. Just needs a few touches added

Good communication when there was an initial problem with parking, it was sorted within 10 minutes however telephone communication on Saturday morning was not good. Had to resort to an email. Since then have received an answer to my query but a little late as we are now at home.

Family weekend.

Very nice apartment although there were a few broken electrical switches and some of the blinds for the window did not fully go down all the way. Beds were adequately comfortable however we found during our stay we had been bitten multiple times in the night, possibly by bed bugs as we could see little mite-like insects in the bed.

Overall apart from the issues listed above; was a pleasant stay, located in a decent place around many shops and cultural buildings.

The arrival put us of a little as we were advised to call which we did and told key left with the office, on arriving the handed us envelope and said they werent part of the company. So finding where we were going and how to get there wasnt the best.

Apartment - spacious, clean and well laid out. Only thing i would like to point out was the outlook was not great, cranes and a buiding site where work started early sat morn. The balcony did not look safe to stand or sit on.

We also booked a deluxe king apartment and would not say the bed was king size.

I think taking all this into account it was a little over priced.

It was very clean, but the fan was broken and the windows wouldn’t open. It was very stuffy and warm in the apartment despite it being fairly cool outside. The office said they would “try” to deliver a new fan but never did. However, other than the temperature it was great for our purposes. We were able to walk to lots of locations and the complex felt safe with gated entry only.

Great apartment in a great location near to The Bay. Comfortable with free access to the pool and spa facilities. Secure parking for a charge. The only thing lacking was a second large mug and second wine glass. It's our second time staying at Century Wharf and we will certainly stay there again when we visit Cardiff in the future.

Convenient Cardiff

3 nights. Property is very spacious and quite well equipped. Has a washer/dryer which was appreciated. It was clean.
Neighbourhood a bit ordinary but able to walk to Mermaid Quay for lots of food and entertainment options. Also walkable to the city. Supermarket and off licence across the road.
Communication with Urban Space was a bit annoying. They sent multiple emails about parking, paying for parking, contact prior to arrival, what to do on arrival...it all got a bit confusing.
Parking was fine - £10 per night pre paid.
Overall we really enjoyed the space and convenience.

The property was in a good location for our event at the stadium and was within a 20 minute walking distance from the city and the bay. We felt that the apartment itself was tired. The bed and sofa were past their best, creaky and old. There was quite a lot of crumbs, glitter, dirt on the sofa and a could of done with a better clean overall. Twice the shower stopped working whilst I was using it forcing me to was out my shampoo in the sink.

The staff were nice and made check in & out easy. But the property was in bad condition. The toilet was filthy, we had to clean it ourselves. There was no hot water available at off peak and they told us not to use the boiler on peak unless it’s an emergency. The kettle in the kitchen had rust and lime build up to the point that it’s not useable and one of the pans in the kitchen had rust all over the inside of the pan. I won’t even get started on the state of the balcony. Overall dissatisfaction, I would not recommend this place and this company to anyone. We paid a lot of money but there was not basic cleaning before guests checked in. Very disappointing!

It was great, the apartment was nice but the lamps in the bedroom need dusting and the blinds are broken. Other than that everything was great, updating the TV’s to smart TV’s would be a good shout too.

Very pleasant stay. Communication was brilliant, met them outside on arrival and they shown exactly where to park and directly to the apartment door. Apartment was very spacious with large kitchen and all the appliances. Only thing I would say let it down was some outdated stuff like the TV, where the programme guide was in French, the shower was a little loose fitted on the wall and the bath was very slippy to stand in and also the building fire alarm went off at around 1am, then again at 10am the next morning. But overall happy with the stay and would return. Great location not far from the city or the bay too.

Property was overall okay. Good location and on a big apartment block complex. Apartment itself was very basic (not furnished like the pictures) but we didn’t need much as only stayed for 2 nights. Meet and greet lady was lovely!

We didn’t have a working television which was a downfall as it is listed on the amenities. Again, not much of an issue as we weren’t there for long.

An amazing view from the apartment looking down the Taff over to Penarth Head.
I only really used the flat to sleep as I was down for a major social event for the weekend. So it met my needs.
From what I saw in the flat, all facilities available and a good little welcome cleaning pack. Roughly about 15 minute walk to the city as Dumbballs Road is very industrial I didn't consider walking back after dark, however £7 in a taxi doesn't seem bad

I would certainly stay again when I'm down visiting family

Best place to stay in Cardiff

Great place to stay in Cardiff. Much better value for money than any of the hotels in the city. Great weekend at the rugby. Communications from Ryan and Megan was top class with the check in information and when I wanted to extend my stay by a night. I’ll certainly return in the future and make it my go to place to stay in Cardiff from now on.

It was a very nice, clean, and comfortable place to stay for two nights. Everything we needed was already there but the kitchen ditergent was a little too small so we had to buy a new one.
Apart from that, we were very satisfied with our stay and would love to come back again at some point in the future.

Dated but did the job.

The apartment was quite dated with its furniture - cream puff back leather sofas and leather side tables in the bedroom. It was also freezing cold - it took a while to heat up. Also the water pressure dies over after the bath is about a third full (which you’ve got to wait over a hour for hot water because of the old boiler).

The balcony is also really grubby. The sky box is not the old version, but the version before that so and didn’t do anything but show the TV guide. The kitchen was super well equipped with everything you need though.

Well priced and located, but our studio apartment was dated and not properly cleaned (dirty crockery and used wet wipe in bathroom). The fridge also made intermittent loud humming noises that made it hard to sleep, and there was no hand towel or bath mat provided, making it a bit of a safety hazard stepping out of the bath. The property manager did say we could call if there were any issues up to 8pm on the day of arrival, but we discovered these quite late in the day and also didn't want to bother with changing rooms. The complex was huge and not very welcoming or well-maintained, even though the meet and greet service was helpful. Not sure we'd stay again.

Excellent location. Great amount of space and really convenient parking. If you’re looking to enjoy the city centre and be within walking distance this is the place to be. The only less pleasing feature was the living room carpet was a bit worn and dirty. Otherwise, a perfect stay!

The location is quite convenient, within walking distance to the main attractions: 20 minutes to the Cardiff castle; 10 minutes to the Waterfront.
It is better if there is a frying pan, without it, cooking will be restricted.

It’s been a great stay overall. The property is well located and welcoming and clean. The only complaint we had (raised with the management company during our stay) that the flat smelled very strongly of stale cigarette smoke. We had to buy air fresheners to mask the smell. Apart from this issue we had a great stay.
