We usually use holiday inns for work purposes and I've stayed in plenty. You would usually expect a decent level of hotel. This one needs to be avoided. Poor condition, mouldy rooms and poor service.

A rather disappointing visit. Booked here so we could use the pool, only to find it was booked out completely for swimming lessons throughout the day 10-6. Misinformed about an available slot which turned out not to be, too. So no swim over the two days as we were offsite in the evenings.
Booked a queen bed, got two singles. And tea, coffee and milk supplies were not topped up during second day, when we were very late back in the evening, so no morning cuppa!

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Another well managed Holiday Inn; the only criticism is the access from the gigantic round-about. You could easily miss the exit from the main road. Getting onto the flow of traffic is easy. In all we enjoyed our stay.

Slightly disappointed by the hotel. My room was a nice size. The buffet breakfast was also decent and customer service was good. My room however was very tired. The furniture was tatty and the carlet was disgusting. Heavily stained to the point I didn’t dare walk on it bare footed. There was signs of mold around the window frame. The matteress was very springy. Had to move a lot in the night to avoid the springs.

Had to raise an issue with the corperate team. Manager very unfriendly. Manager served us 1 alcoholic drink at 3pm on arrival, then refused access to the swimming pool all day and evening!!!

I will never stay in this hotel again and have warned everyone that stays in Wales never to go near it, I ended up getting a £100 parking fine for a finger slip on the keypad absolute theives, and don’t say it’s independent from the hotel you still have responsibilities

Easy to get to, good parking facilities. Extremely pleasant staff, who were able to check us in early, even though we arrived early . One member of staff went out of her way to lend me her umbrella as I’d forgotten to bring one with me. Breakfast at the hotel was very well organised to meet with Covid requirements, and I thought the choice of food available was excellent. These are very challenging times for the hospitality sector and its staff . I can honestly say the Hotel and its staff exceeded my expectations . The location was perfect as we were visiting friends in the nearby village, and we will certainly be staying here again

Was travelling for work so this was ideal location by the M4. Very friendly staff even though they were busy and understaffed in my opinion. Breakfast and dinner were enjoyable, although due to understaffing dinner for one took two hours. Hand sanitisers on floor empty throughout my stay which is a negative. However all other distancing precautions were excellent. Would definitely stay again as the staff are lovely and make you feel like an individual.

Tired hotel rooms. Asked for a quiet room and was ensured it was, but was by conference facility that was in constant use. Could hear the next door room, they weren't being noisy, but could here them.

Our room windows were extremely dirty, there was dirty bed linen in the wardrobe and the tv remote was in pieces which I have pictures of. When going to eat at hotel restaurant was charged full price but it was on the government eat out to help out list. When asked about this, I was told it was a mistake by the government.

A menu in the rooms would be helpful and a cover for to put over your food would be handy. Quite difficult to negotiate all the doors whilst carrying a tray back to your room.

I really enjoyed it here although was just for two nights, everything was clean and I like the fact your company offer bits and bobs you may have forgotten. Staff were friendly too!

Due to the wonder that is Covid, staff numbers were not high which meant that not all stations were manned. The ones that were available were very good and I’m sure that it must be an absolute nightmare for them to cover reception and bar at the same time, so well done. The room was a good size (I also liked the ambient green light in the bathroom), bed was super comfy and the shower was superb. On this occasion the room had a musty smell upon opening, not too sure why! For the price and convenience - we could see the house we were visiting from our hotel room - it was excellent value for money, but it was heavily discounted.

My room smelt of smoke for a non-smoking hotel which was unpleasant. It was the hottest day of the year and the aircon didn't blow cold at all just circulated the air in the room.
A great shame as the last time I stayed it was a completely different experience.

Great Place - But Some Issues....
This is a great place, the Exec room is fantastic at a great price. Little extras make a nice difference, and whilst a shower over a bath is not my preference, it worked well and was hot!! I couldn't fault the room at all. It was clean, tidy, lovely to stay in. The downside of my stay however was dirty glasses and cutlery! This is not acceptable. My colleague first got served his drink in a dirty glass, then mine. We asked for new glasses and proceeded to clean them ourselves with a serviette. I later ordered a glass of wine, the glass looked like someone had already been drinking from it. Yet again, I ask for a new glass, clean it myself and transfer my drink. This is basic stuff - so dirty (or dishwasher faulty) is not acceptable. Breakfast was also a bit of a nightmare, again dirty cutlery (dried egg on knife), and waiting for food to be replenished, to a point a large queue formed. These were the only let downs which is a real shame as everything else was spot on. My feeling at the moment is I would stay again, but if the problems persist then never again. I hope they sort this out.

Beds uncomfortable. Too high. Struggled to get onto it. Once on, mattress so soft, sunk in where I sat such that I couldn't shuffle down to the desired position. Just kept bouncing and sinking. Felt like I was in quicksand. It was actually a little distressing. Duvet far too thick - thinner and wider would be preferable.

Ideal location outside of Cardiff. Public transport into Cardiff and accessibility to motorway was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a variety of choice.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and modern, although on closer inspection I found a horrible amount of mould on the ceiling behind the curtain pelmet. Advised the hotel. Restaurant/bar was good with a typical hotel hot and cold breakfast buffet. Evening food seleciton was good and the bar had a decent local ale for a reasonable price.

Disappointing and uncomfortable sofabed
The main bed was very comfortable however the sofa bed was dreadful. The mattress was so thin that the frame could be felt in my children’s back and they had a terrible and uncomfortable night. In the end we had to put the very thin mattress in the floor to sleep on.

We were so looking forward to staying here as we usually book the Travelodge nearby, good until my husband, daughter and myself entered the breakfast area, firstly the tables had not been cleared so we had to ask for a table to be cleared. There were no cups or mugs available for hot drinks therefore customers were standing around waiting. I asked a member of staff for a coffee cup and was told to get one off a table, I would have done this had there been a clean cup available. I asked again for a cup and was still waiting 10 minutes so I had to lean over and get one from the hotel bar. It was embarrassing.
There was no bread, no pastries, no muffins available and the one pot of jam available did not look appetising at all. I therefore ordered the American pancakes off the menu, I waited and waited then overheard the member of staff tell another customer that they had no American pancakes, I was still waiting so eventually had to go and search out my pancakes, it seemed she had forgotten so again I waited then she brought me a plate with 2 English plain pancakes, not at all what I was expecting, no maple syrup, no bacon, actually nothing resembling the description on the menu so I said no thank you and returned them. As a result 2 of us had no breakfast. I have never encountered such a dismal breakfast selection. As you can imagine we were very disappointed. Credit to the front of house staff who apologised and adjusted our bill to remove the 2 breakfasts we didn’t receive.

On arrival someone had downgraded my purchased room. Unacceptable as I had paid for the selected room. Had to accept the downgraded room. The bar and lounge area was under major refurbishment - not advised only their site. The service that night in the temporary area was very poor - the staff kept peering out from behind the boarding but not doing much. Overall a very disappointing stay

The hotel was generally dirty..the reception staff questioned whether breakfast was included when it clearly stated on my email that it was..the room was dirty and had twin beds which we were unaware of..the hotel food was extortionate priced..the breakfast was satisfactory but there were only 3 staff to serve about 100 people..the table we were told to sit was dirty..there were no mugs for tea the waiter had to go and get them from other tables..for a pot of tea for 2 there was one teabag! The only person who apolgised to us for the chaos was the young waiter who was clearly doing his best but there was just tto much..more staff needed..we wont be staying again .

Hi, I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn, 22min drive to Cardiff bay, 30min drive to Barry Island beach, 15min to Cardiff Castle, got bit issue of cleaning but it’s sorted, pool is very good, but it is small as it look big in pictures, but all over we enjoyed

TV remote missing in 1 room & a few phone calls got us wrong remote but replaced later with correct remote. Housekeeping should have noticed missing remote. Hotel has AC rooms. We could actually sleep when very hot outside. I would stay again
