Hotel Alda was the perfect location for my first trip to Iceland. Extremely close to any bus stop for pick up/drop off tours. Plenty of restaurants around and stores around. The hotel was very accommodating and the room was great!

Great location. Easy to walk to most shopping and cafes in downtown. The geothermal hot tub was very nice. Although small, it packed a punch of 41c. So 10 min was most i could manage in any session. The hotel offers a grab&go in the morning if your up and out early before the breakfast room opens at 7am. Given the high prices of everything in Iceland, having breakfast included was a major benefit. There is a Starbucks and a barbers attached to the hotel lobby, plus a resturant/ bar. I didn't use these options, but they seemed to be busy. The airport- flybus, will drop you off at stop 9, which is 2 small blocks to walk to the hotel.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. The in-room coffee was actually pretty good, although there is also a Starbucks on the ground floor. Great location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Amenities include a hot tub and gym, although I didn’t use either. No on-site parking and on-street parking can be pricey if you don’t search for the cheaper spots. You’ll definitely need the parking apps to figure this out. Beds were super comfy. Only issue with the room was there was some debris under the desk but not a big deal. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Great, central location. The hotel restaurant and adjacent Starbucks are great pluses.
The manager (with red hair) went above and beyond to explain tours with us. She has the greatest personality and disposition which helped a lot when planning our trips during our first trip to Iceland.

We (family of four, 2 kids under 13), had an outstanding stay at Alda Hotel in Reykjavik and would absolutely return.

The location is hard to beat—right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance to major sights, great restaurants, bars, and shopping. It made exploring Reykjavik incredibly convenient, whether we were heading out for a quick coffee or a full day of sightseeing.

Our room was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. Everything felt well-maintained and true to what we expected when booking, which is always appreciated.

The staff really stood out. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. Whether it was answering questions, offering recommendations, or assisting with small requests, they were consistently prompt and professional.

One thing to note is parking. Since the hotel is located in a very popular and central district, finding a nearby spot can sometimes be a bit challenging. Be prepared for a short walk, especially if you have luggage. That said, it’s a small trade-off for being in such a prime location.

Overall, Alda Hotel delivered a fantastic experience—great location, comfortable accommodations, and excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Reykjavik

The Alda Hotel makes for an idyllic base In Reykjavík with its central location and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Breakfast has that aesthetic European flavor profile, but also the traditional American foods. The restaurant’s food was equally delicious. And check out the happy hour; the bar tender makes photographical cocktails!

This hotel met all our needs and beyond! The cleanliness was superb and the service outstanding. The rooms and the entire hotel were beautiful. The included breakfast every morning is an absolute must and have an assortment of food for everyone’s taste and the service was outstanding. The location of the hotel is in the heart of Reykjavik and close to all attractions and most important of all, close to the #9 bus stop at Snorrabraut where all your excursions go out from. We utilized the gym and hot tub as well and it met our needs. The hot tub is a little small and outside. The restaurant attached to the hotel had great food and great service. I highly recommend Alda Hotel!

Amazing property right in the center of Reykjavik's tourist strip. Everything from the Kolaportið Flea Market to the iconic Hallgrimskirkja was in walking distance.
Perfect to go grab souvenirs and good food, spend some time in a hot tub, and get a peaceful nights sleep.

Would recommend the Top Floor Balcony rooms! The balconies are connected & wrap around, so you can get a Full 360 view of the city (and maybe the Aurora!) just by stepping outside.

Grace was amazing. We were 3 couples on a romantic vacation to Iceland and she was so accommodating. She got our rooms so quickly we hardly even had our luggage in the lobby yet. She offered suggestions and even let us know when we could see the northern lights. She went above and beyond to help us at every step of our vacation.

So from the moment we arrived to be greeted by two smiling faces on reception set the tone really. This is the way to greet guests...This carried on throughout our stay and was greatly received..
Hotel in perfect location. 11 minute walk to Bus Stop 12 for some tour pick ups. 17 minute walk from bus terminal once you have arrived on the bus from the airport. (Recommended as taxi expensive from airport and even for short journeys)
20 ish minute walk to harbour for other tours on water (whale watching or Northern Lights)
Room was cosy shall we say but had everything we needed including a fridge which came in very handy.
Had a problem with the TV but that was dealt with quickly by replacing it.
In house restaurant and also hairdressers and Starbucks just off main reception for pastries etc.
Bonus supermarket 1 minute walk is about the cheapest place about that we found for our baguettes and sandwiches to take on tours.
Very fresh, clean, modern hotel and would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Alda Hotel Reykjavík. The location is perfect—right in the center of the city, making it easy to walk everywhere. We also loved having a Starbucks and a restaurant right in the lobby, which made mornings and quick meals super convenient. The lobby itself is clean, modern, and welcoming.

Our room was simple, minimalistic, and just the right size for our family. It wasn’t overly large or luxurious, but it was exactly what we needed since we spent most of our days exploring the city. One detail I especially appreciated was their L’Occitane amenities. It’s such a nice touch and made the stay feel a bit more elevated.

We also found it incredibly helpful that the hotel provides a cellphone for guests to use during their stay. Since there’s no telephone in the room, having a phone available for exploring the city was convenient and saved us from relying on our own devices.

The room and facilities were consistently clean and well‑maintained. The front desk staff was excellent—friendly, approachable, and very responsive. Before our arrival, I had sent several messages with questions, and they always replied promptly. I also arranged a surprise for my husband’s birthday, and the staff coordinated everything beautifully.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Alda Hotel Reykjavík to anyone looking for a comfortable and centrally located place to stay in the city.

FAB U LOUS hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great location for shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great quality but did get a bit 'samey'. A bit of rotation on the offerings would have been nice but again, super high quality food. The whole venue was spotlessly clean. Sauna and hot tub a nice addition. Shame about Starbucks
