Apartment was wonderful, amazing location! Super clean and comfortable, staff was friendly. I’d prefer to give 4.5 stars but that isn’t available.
Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was a few minor details. Seeing as it is an apartment with a kitchenette and kitchenware, it would have been great to have salt and pepper and cooking oil on hand as well, instead we had to purchase our own for a short stay which is not ideal. Secondly, when I first arrived I asked if there was parking available somewhere or if it was only paid street parking; I was told there was only paid street parking, I later saw there was 2 spots that indicated parking for “Rey Apartments”. After speaking to another front desk person the next day they said that yes, we could park there and would not have to pay. Finally, another issue came up where our wifi went down on the second day as well as the light in the corridor leading to our apartment, I informed someone at front desk and they said they would look into it and see what was happening when the night shift arrived. The wifi and light was still not working the next morning and when I went back, the morning person was not aware of any issue but said they would call someone to fix it today. Thankfully the issue was resolved when we returned later that day. I think a little better communication between staff could have helped.
Honestly, those were minor things and everything else was perfect. I would stay here again and highly recommend!

GREAT LOCATION! Affordable! This is my 4th visit to Iceland and out of all my stays in Reykjavik, I liked this location the best. Staff friendly and sociable. Can’t wait to come back! The only negative was the shower curtain was gross at the bottom of it.

We had a great stay at Rey Apartments in Reyjavik. Our room was fantastic and we loved having a kitchenette and lounge to use in the mornings and evening. The location was fantastic and easily walkable to the main areas of town. The apartment was clean and check in was super easy. We'd definitely stay with you again!

We needed a one night stay for 5 before heading home the next day. This apartment did the trick. The only thing I would suggest is better communication at check-in. I thought it would be a key code vs having to return to the hotel to get the key… also the fob vs a key code is a bit tough with several people. One person needed to have the fob with them to let anyone in… a code would have allowed more freedom to enter.

The property is very centrally located for walking about the down town area. It was clean and very livable with a kitchenette and a separate lounge area which was great as we were there for five days.
It is a bit noisy at night but what would you expect being in the center of the town.
Lots of restaurants near by, out favourite were the Thai restaurant just up the road and a great Icelandic restaurant a short five minute walk called Islenski Barinn. We ate at both of them a couple of time.
For those traveling for a while, there is a pay laundromat just a couple of minutes walk which was great and payment is by card which made things easy.
The only thing we didn’t like to start with is that the apartment is painted in dark colors but we got use to it.
Also you need to know that the reception is about a couple of hundred meters fro the apartment and they are 24 hour reception and they will keep your bags in a lock up if you need that service.

Apartment was nice. Tight for 3 people. Check in is several blocks from apartment. Room was ready early, staff not personable. Apartment clean, well equipped kitchen, didn’t use only stayed 1 night. Room was quite far into building. Up a few stairs, down a hall, up a few more stairs, down the hall, etc, then up full flight and down the hall. Hard with luggage. Neighborhood was great! Bed comfortable. Would stay again.

We had a truly positive stay at Rey Apartments this past June. We were a group of 8 which included 3 kids. The property made great recommendations including having dinner at Seafood Grill which was phenomenal and Braud bakery for some of the best morning treats.
The property also arranged transportation to and from the airport.

I booked this property at the last minute on arrival in Iceland after midnight. I had a VRBO reserved, that is a whole other story. I called and spoke to Gunnar at the property, he was able to confirm a room available and get me checked in on arrival. The room was clean, and exactly as described. The location was perfect able to walk to many Reykjavik sites, unlimited dink g and entertainment options, pubs, restaurants, music, shopping.

The apartments are in an excellent location. Perfect for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. Check in was easy and there was free parking. The apartment was a little in need of repairs, but overall quite nice.

The property is located in a nice place in downtown, but there are a lot of drunk or stupid people around the neighborhood who scream and shout constantly from midnight until dawn. This is not the property’s fault, but there should be some police presence to prevent this.

The stay was nice overall although a few minor things might need some improvements. For example the main entrance door is difficult to operate. It is very cold near the windows in the kitchen and there are no coffee machine.

Comfortable and cosy apartment very centrally located but set in a quiet courtyard. Felt very safe and secure. Overall cleanliness was good but the tiles in the bathroom could have done with a scrub. The apartment on the 3rd floor was much quieter than the one on the first floor. on the first floor, the street level noise was sleep disruptive at times but overall not too bad if you are used to some night time city noise.

The hotel fraudulently advertises that they have a 24 hour shuttle to the airport. There is NO SHUTTEL and they refused to refund the cost of the room when I said I wanted to go elsewhere. Directions to the Rey Apt. were pathetic and we wandered around on the streets for an extended period of time trying to find the apt. bldg., all while lugging heavy luggage. I had to take a taxi to a bus station and then a bus to get to the airport. Getting bags up and down multiple flights of narrow steps due to no elevator was a nightmare. Most stressful hotel stay I have ever had.

The Rey apartments are perfectly located about five blocks from Bus Stop 8 (Hallgrimskirke), two blocks from from a four block stretch of shops and restaurants that leads down to the Culture House (Bus Stop 6) and the old Harbor - with more shopping, Harpa Concert Hall, more restarants and the weekend flea market. It's also about three blocks from Rainbow Road. Hand knitting Association one block down. There are mini-marts one block one way and three blocks the other. Check-in is at the Hotel Odinsve which is about a five block walk away.

Check in was at the hotel down the block and was a little confusing to find. This was cleared up by a phone call where the gentleman at the desk helped us out and was friendly and a pleasure to deal with. This apartment worked out great for our 3 days in Reykjavik. It had everything we needed and was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. It is the perfect location. The laundromat was just across the street. The only downside was the 2 spots only parking but it would not deter us from making another reservation in the future.

Unfortunately the walls and floors are so thin you can hear everything. At 2am a herd of elephants moved in upstairs from us and no one in our party got a wink of sleep after. Stairwells are super noisy as well. Sadly would not recommend if you want to be guaranteed a good nights rest.
