Breakfast was great everyday and good selection. The room was clean and very nice, for our 8 day stay it was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the laundry service was not complimentary and it seemed as though it would be. There was no price listed and no one mentioned there was a fee. Assuming it was free was my own fault, but having booked a suite and the things which werent complimentary had a listed fee. That said, the laundry service fee was unbelievably high. The three loads we sent out were over $550 USD!

The staff was attentive and the hotel was clean as was the room and bathroom. It is at a great location within walking distance from bus stops and shopping and some of the important sightseeing locations. The breakfast spread is really good and the hotel’s restaurant food is simply amazing.

The reason I can’t give a 5 because the room itself was small though, we had a double twin-bed room, there was one small closet and a small table and there was barely any space to move. Also, we reached early and asked about checkin - they immediately said the room was ready but we would be charged €50 for early checkin which we thought was odd, as if they were prepared to gouge tourists.

A very nice property in the center of town- most interesting areas of Reykjavik are walkable, and it’s close to pickups for tours.
Our room needed a bit more brighter lights, but the bed and shower were excellent; there is also a fridge in the room and a small coffee maker. Good coffee within a block too.

One of our favorite hotels with amazing staff!!

The hotel i sin the perfect location, clean and so pretty inside. Our room was really nice! The detail in the woodwork and the space and amenities. We also had one of our best meals in the restaurant. The wait staff was incredibly friendly!!

We especially want to highlight Roberto at the front desk. He was not only friendly but he went way above and beyond to help us.

I wish we had more time at this charming place. We disembarked from our cruise. The front desk personnel stored our luggage so that we could explore the area since our room wasn't available. When we returned, our luggage had already been placed in our room.

The room was very clean. The hotel was in the perfect location to walk to many of the sights we wanted to hit. It was a nice 'base' to go to each time we ventured out. Just wish we could've stayed a little longer (we checked out at 5:15 a.m. to catch our flight).

If ever we return, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

If you are too hot and have to open the windows, the noise from outside is unbearable. Also, the black night lights by the bed cannot be turned off. You have basically have to remove your card that control the electrical power of the room in order to shut them off. If you do so, none of the electrical outlets in the room will work and whatever you planned to charge over night (e.g. phone, headphones, etc.) will not be charged.

As soon as I had a shower the entire bathroom flooded and the water had no where to go. I dont know why the layout in the bathroom is what it is but this must happen everytime. The rest of the night when I wanted to use the bathroom I had to walk through water to get to sink or toilet. No solution offered by front desk. Had to ask for a mop mgself. Would never stay here again

I love the fact that my room was so quiet. Everything about my stay was perfect. The buffet breakfast and staff were out of this world, and the people working the desk could not have been nicer about trying to get me into my room earlier than the usual check-in time, because I had been on an early flight and was exhausted.

The staff at Apotek were friendly, professional and helpful answering questions. The room had a wonderful view over Parlament Square. However, late evenings during June saw many people celebrating throughout tje midnight sun. A room facing the opposite side of the hotel might be less noisy. The breakfast offerings were very good along with the staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Apotek again.

Apotek Hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area of Reykjavik. The entire staff is completely amazing; they provided helpful information regarding the sites, transportation and parking (there isn't any parking on-site).
I chose the single room and was taken a bit off-guard by the small size of the room, given that the price was somewhat high. Though the shower was more than adequate (spectacular, really), the bed was situated directly next to the window and the drapes. The issue is that when sleeping, if you are a person who does not lay still while sleeping, you encounter the very real possibility of rolling against the drapes. During the spring and summer months, when the sun chooses to not actually go down at all, that is certainly problematic. I woke myself up a few times because the drapes happened to part slightly and the oh-so-bright sunlight (even at 0200) was not so kind to my sleeping self.
I did dine at the hotel restaurant for dinner one night, and the staff there was also quite spectacular.
Overall, this hotel is fantastic, with the only real issue being the proximity of the bed to the drapes.

The guest check in agents were great: Daniel, Louis and Hendrick plus I think Annette. They were very helpful, thoughtful(my visit included my birthday~yay!) and a thoughtful bottle of red wine was gifted-classey. Our room was lovely, clean and housekeeping did a great job too. Thank you for a lovely stay; I am definitely recommending your hotels especially The Apotek to friends who are coming to Iceland.

The bathroom was updated and really nice, but the setup and lack of ventilation makes the entire room so damp after a shower. Fan wasn’t working in ours. Location is convenient - close to attractions, shopping, dining, and bus stop for pick-up. Because of proximity to bars, it can get loud even past midnight. Breakfast buffet was so-so. Highly recommend the restaurant outside of the buffet. We tried their platters and sampled some tasty icelandic cuisine.

Wonderful property and staff. It was close to everything so you’re able to walk and get to all attractions, bars, tours etc. parking is the only issue, no on sight parking so you have to find a garage or street parking, pay and then walk. If you find parking jnP2 it’s like $20 a day

What a great stay!! In the center of it all m highly recommend. Please do note parking in this area can be difficult.... so just make sure to download parking app. This has nothing to do with hotel... just a heads up. Also make sure to eat at Apotek restaurant. We went 2xs it was so delicious. Can't go wrong with anything on menu!

We booked 2 standard rooms. One was ok, the other was tiny , no space to even put our suitcase. We had to upgrade to a superior room as it was just not comfortable. The superior room was bigger but fairly sparsely furnished. Reception staff friendly and the hotel was right in the centre so super convenient.
Public car park 3 minute walk away, £35 overnight.

Winter week

Location is very central, near the shops and restaurants and bus stop 3 for all your pickups and drop offs. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room and breakfast were adequate, although room was quite cool with heat mainly coming from a great towel roll in the bathroom. Shower room was nice with molten brown as a nice treat. At one end of the hotel you can hear the live music downstairs until 2am at the weekend. We would stay again.

Great Hotel, perfect location for the Bus Transfers to the airport and downtown. We did not use the facilities of the hotel as we where out all the time, but room was nice and right next to a bakery for breakfast if you want something less expensive in the morning. As down town there is merriment noise into the early hours to be heard if you need the window open like we do, fine with treble glassing closed. Definitely would go back.
