I enjoyed the scenery outside the balcony and living room windows. It was close to shopping and restaurants which was super convenient.

Our stay at this property wasn’t great. As soon as you walk into the apartment, there is a strong odor, maybe that of a dog? Whatever it was, if you’re sensitive to smells, I wouldn’t recommend this place. I opened the balcony door and the windows to let fresh air in. It was recommended to open the windows anyways due to the apartment getting too hot. However, the noise from the street downstairs was so loud, especially at night, even with the door and windows closed. You could hear cars zooming by and people talking so loudly. The bathroom was very uncomfortable and everything felt smooshed together. The sink didn’t drain properly. The odor was strongest there. The bed didn’t have a headboard which felt uncomfortable. The parking garage in the basement was a bit difficult as well. It had a decent view of the Old Harbour which was nice but that’s about it.

Had a great experience at this property. Parking was under ground garage and a walkable grocery store just minutes away! And close by for any tour bus pick ups as well. Really clean and well maintained property. I highly recommend it for families.

The only thing that we didn’t love was that there was construction going on at the apartment directly above us and it awoke us each morning due to the loud banging, but otherwise the stay was awesome! Very centrally located, very walkable. Would recommend!

We started our trip at Planet Apartments and it was the perfect landing spot - especially the underground parking. The apartment is spacious and the big windows make for great views. There are a few restaurants nearby and a small corner store for essentials. Getting in and out of Reykjavik is no problem from this location. We stayed 3 days and we drove out to Snaefellsnes Peninsula one day and Gullfoss the next. The day we visited in the city we walked everywhere. The apartment is close to the museums around the harbour and close enough to walk to the main area. We were a family of 3 and would highly suggest Planet Apartments to those looking to lock in a few days in Iceland.

This was a lovely apartment near the harbor and we had a wonderful time there. I wish I had had instructions on how to use either of the coffee makers in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable and we loved the garage parking in a city that is parking challenged. Recommend.

The apartment was spacious, well equipped and lovely, and the views were wonderful! The location was ideal and there were many lovely restaurants in the area. We had a slight issue with the door and the owner was so quick to respond and remedy the issue. Reykjavik was amazing - Iceland is just beautiful, and the apartment was a safe perfect base. We can't wait to return to Reykjavik and would definitely love to stay here again!

Had a great stay. Great communication and place was spotless clean. The view of the harbour is incredible and near some great restaurants. One thing to note, there is a small of Sulfur, which is not bad plumbing, but rather the natural water. Price to value compared to other nearby high end hotels is fantastic.

We chose an apartment as we wanted a bit more flexibility and knew there'd be times we were in our room so wanted space to spread out...it was a great decision. On arrival it was underwhelming from the back, but once in, the apartment was spacious, well equipped and the views were wonderful out of the front, perfectly located in the marina.
The hotel across the road was a pick up location for tours so it was ideal there and there were countless restaurants in the area. Reykjavik was great, Iceland just wonderful and the apartment was a safe perfect base.

The apartment is spotless and has everything you could need. The Sofa bed in the living room was perfect for the children, underground parking is really handy with a lift straight up to the apartment door and the view from the floor to ceiling window and balcony is amazing.
Location is also great with lots of fantastic restaurants right on the doorstep and a walk into to the centre of town only takes 5-10 mins.

The view of the harbor was incredible! The apartment has everything anyone would need. The basement parking might be a tight squeeze for a large SUV. Only criticism was that we spent about 30 minutes driving around trying to figure out exactly where to turn in to access the apartment & the parking. Although the property manager provided an email CLEARLY explained the procedures, we think a map would be a big help (for a foreigner unfamiliar with the area, navigating the one-way streets, construction, closed roads, etc. made even the best directions seem confusing. **In response to the reviews about the washing machine, read the manual under the sink (in several different languages). As far as the dryer not drying well, you must empty the water out of the reservoir in between loads since it is a ventless dryer.

This two bedroom apartment was in an excellent location to explore the city by foot. Very close to great restaurants, coffee shops and activities in the Old Harbor. The layout of the apartment was great for our family of four. The owner of the property was responsive and helpful.
The property has begun to show some wear and age and could use a few extras to make it a five star spot. It would be helpful to have a clothes drying rack (the combination washer/dryer never really got anything dry and there were not enough spots to hang our laundry each evening), automatic coffee maker (there was a electric kettle and French press but no automatic coffee maker), extra paper towels and extra towels/linens.
We were thrilled to be able to check in early after a red eye flight. This was a great help to us as we were traveling with young children. When we arrived the apartment was tidy but needed a bit of a clean. The bed linens were clean and fresh but the bathroom and kitchen needed a bit of attention.
Overall this was a great spot to explore Reykjavík from and we very much enjoyed our stay. We were able to walk to most sights and found the Old Harbor and Old Town sections of Reykjavík to be fabulous neighborhoods to explore. Great location in downtown Reykjavik close to the old harbour. Unable to take full advantage of the view from the balcony due to the weather but good views of the city and partial view of the harbour. Beds very comfy, really cosy with under floor heating, open plan living room/kitchen and spacious. All mod cons as expected with a modern apartment. 5 minute walk to the pick-up point for airport transfers and tours. Good selection of restaurants and bars close by. Icelandic people are very friendly. Owner very helpful and a minor issue with Wi-Fi access was resolved quickly.

Planet Apartments was great. It was a comfortable stay for my wife and toddler. The check in process was simple, underground parking was good to have. The only negative is I booked an ocean front view (501) but it was not really an ocean front view. I have to peek out of the balcony to see the water. But nonetheless, this was a great stay. Just would have liked the ocean front view to be actual facing the ocean.

This place was so darn cute! Location was perfect. The only thing is that if you aren’t use to sleeping in a remote area, the sounds of the people and cars will keep you up. Such a cute spot though.

I absolutely loved this apartment. First of all it was very nicely located close to many restaurants, cafes and shops and easily walkable to the many sights Reykjavík had to offer. The apartment itself was very cozy with an Apple TV and Netflix available. There was a great view of the waterside and a lovely balcony as well. I would definitely stay here again. The contact from the host was very quick and easy.

I wish there was someone who comes to clean the apartment during our stay. The floor was dirty. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend it.

The apartment is very clean and modern. It had everything we needed to feel like home. Two recommendations: update the washer to more efficient as the clothes usually come out still very wet then it takes very long to dry them. Secondly to add shower curtain and exhaust fan in the bathroom to prevent water spilling from the shower and excessive moisture build up.

The only thing we could complain about was the construction workers starting at 8 am on the roof and our balcony.. that stunk as they were banging hammers and sawing. As we were on the top floor, this was very irritaring to not be able to sleep in.

Stay was good overall. Check-in process was a bit unclear and had to call to figure it out. Otherwise the room was great and very spacious. One complaint was that there was a nice tv that didn’t seem to be hooked up to anything. Couldn’t watch anything.

Perfect for travellers with a (rental) vehicle with included parking space and easy access to the road out of town. The stairwell to the parkade was dirty but otherwise the apartment itself and rest of the property are very tidy, although the apartment numbers on the doors could use some refreshing. It was in the best location and super safe; close to the marina where the tour companies have a stop across the street, a 10 min walk to 3 grocery stores, one of which is 24 hours with a pharmacy attached, close to museums, 2 excellent bakeries in a 5-10 min walk- Brikk and Deig, and easy walkable distance to the main shopping street Laugavegur.
It had ALL the amenities we needed- washer and dryer, coffee maker, toaster, hot water maker, dishwasher, full stove and oven-- we were able to have at least 1 and usually 2 meals at the apartment a day to save money.
Good in-apt wifi was included (it seemed like only 2 devices could connect at a time- but that may have been something I did/didn't know how to modify), with Netflix on the Apple TV.
I wrote to Dilja the manager several times, and would receive a response in minutes to hours-- very fast communication.
We only drove on long trips because everything was in easy walking distance from the apartment, and it was nice to have a roomy underground parking space for the rental car that was safe and free- no worrying about street parking.

Lovely, modern, well equipped - and warm! - apartment in a fantastic location. We stayed over the weekend with our two children and would definitely stay here again if we make another trip to Iceland. Everything is within walking distance and there are placed to eat - including the fantastic Bullan burger joint - right across the road. Airport and excursion buses drop off/pick up across the road at the Marina hotel so really easy to get there and get out on tours.

This is a wonderful apartment in a new building. Everything you need is there. Restaurants are a bit pricey in Reykjavik, but we were able to buy groceries and cook a few meals. If you rent a car, there is free parking and an elevator. The owners/management are very responsive to phone calls or emails. If something is not perfect, they will fix it for you asap.
The location is great. A lovely neighborhood, a convenience store is two blocks away. The harbor is across the street, and all the buses and major tour groups stop right on the corner. I wish I could have this apartment everywhere I go.

Washer kept failing so it was difficult to use. The shower head wouldn't stay in one place and spun a bunch when you turn it on.

We could not have happier! Despite a snafu in the beginning, the host was quick to remedy the situation. This place has it all! Food stores two blocks up the hill, restaurants across the street and two blocks down the street. Best fish s d chips at Fish Co.

Outstanding Reykjavik Marina Apartment
My wife and I came to Reykjavik for our honeymoon and were so happy to have stayed in this outstanding apartment. The space was larger than expected. Clean, modern and excellently appointed- strong wifi, full kitchen, washer and dryer as well as a parking place. The location, a few blocks away from the fun tourist area of town, was superb. We had a view of the marina with the white mountains (that looked like \"The Wall\" from Game of Thrones) in the background. In between all our site seeing, it was lovely to come back to this home base. My wife and I were so happy to have stayed here and would choose this apartment again, in a heartbeat.
One note-- Make sure you get the email before you arrive! The final instructional email from Planet Apartments, that was sent out a few days before our scheduled arrival, went to my spam folder. I didn't realized there was no \"office\" on site and that I needed all the info in the email ahead of time to get into our apartment. So we showed up cold and had a bit of a faltering start finding someone to help us. It took a phone call and then it all got sorted out. I have to thank the very patient and attentive people with Planet Apartments who were swift to attend to us and give us the info we needed to into our apartment. It's my fault to not to have seen the email, but the people with Planet Apartments were great. The apartment was great. It was a win all around.

From the booking to the departure the communication was amazing. The apartment was even better than the pictures - my two boys aged 8 and 12 literally went wow when they entered!!! It had everything we needed and ideal location and great view. The underground parking was a blessing as we hired a car. Close enough to walk to the main area for shops and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet on an evening. We can not fault this apartment at all and will definitely return.

It was great having our own kitchen since Iceland restaurants are SO expensive and just not always worth it with a 3 year old. Water smell in the shower was pretty gross but I understand that is just all of Iceland, lol. The apartment was comfortable and clean and well located for walking downtown, even with a toddler.

Great location, right on the harbor, facing whale watch tours, 5-min walk to city center, great restaurants/cafes within no more than 10-min walk.
The apartment had a bedroom with a twin and a double as well as a pull-out sofa bed in the living room.
Amenities included a washer/dryer, a reserved garage parking spot, and a fully stocked kitchen (full fridge - perfect for storing skyr and beer - a dishwasher, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, utensils, dishes, etc), and a smart tv.
We were 3, but the spacious apartment could have slept five, and it felt so much roomier than a hotel room. Probably more than twice the square footage of a hotel room. Having a kitchen was fantastic for breakfasts - the costs of eating out are so large that the ability to fix some meals in the apartment was a lifesaver!

We absolutely loved our stay here. It is ideally located and convenient to all many attractions. It was very clean and comfortable and we would love to stay here again. The property manager was easily reachable by phone and email which was nice since these are self-serving. Our only minor flaw was the water wasn't very warm due to a broken part they couldn't get fixed right away. Otherwise, a wonderful stay!

Plenty of room, beautiful view, great location (close to a lot of restaurants, tours, the harbor) Having a full kitchen and washer and dryer made everything much easier. Considering parking is really hard to find in this part of Reykjavik, the underground parking with a slot just for my apartment was perfect. The internet was fast (250Mbs up and down). Solid walls, didn't hear a sound from any neighbors the whole time. Would definitely stay here again.

Great quiet location in the Old Harbor - just a couple minutes walk to the harbor and only 10 minutes walk to the city center (Laugavegur St, Harpa Hall, etc). There is a grocery just a few minutes walk as well and with a fully stocked kitchen we were able to make many of our own meals. Check in was a breeze, the property was just as described/pictured, very clean, lots of extra blankets and pillows, all in all a wonderful place to stay and a great value on Expedia!

Great guest apartments in northwest Reykjavik
These are self-service guest apartments. There's a staff member on-call, but for the most part you receive a code to access the room. The apartment was very modern, good sized, has a comfortable pull-out sofa, excellent media devices (though we didn't really watch TV), a really nice kitchen, and it was immaculately clean. The killer feature of this place was that it had a washer and dryer! The one awkward bit was that to get the key to the garage, you needed to run up to the apartment first. The garage itself has a very steep slope down into it and one needs to be careful how you enter so the nose of the car doesn't scrape (it may also be difficult to enter and exit during winter, I suppose). The location has a handful of local restaurants, there are whale watches that leave from few dozen meters away, and you can walk to downtown Reykjavik in about 10 minutes. We stayed for several days and it was very comfortable.

We had an excellent stay in the Planet Apartment. We stayed in apt. 403, which was large enough to accommodate four adults comfortably.
The apartment has all the amenities necessary for the stay: fully equipped kitchen, washing and drying machines, TV, wifi, a nice bathroom with a shower with a huge volume of water, and a safe parking space in the basement. The location is very convenient, only a short walk away from downtown Reykjavik.
I strongly recommend these apartments, but my suggestion is that you spend as little time as possible in it, and enjoy the incredible things Iceland has to offer.

We stayed in Apartment 201. It was very easy to find, and in a wonderful location for walking and exploring the harbor and Old Reykjavik. The instructions for getting into the apartment were clear, and Diljá had sent them several days before our trip so that we had time to ask any questions that we had.
The apartment is spacious, with plenty of room for our family of four. The kitchen is an honest-to-goodness full kitchen, not a kitchenette. The beds were comfy, as were the pillows, and the blackout curtains made sleeping masks unnecessary.
The only snafu we experienced was with parking, but Diljá took care of the issue immediately. She was even available to fix a parking problem in the middle of the night, so we're convinced that she never sleeps. Amazing!

[Laundry capability varies by apartment (we have stayed in 301 which has a washer and dryer, and 201, which has only a washer and drying rack); be prepared to google instruction manuals!]. Overall, great value and would stay here again.

This is a very nice apartment/condo right near the interesting part of the city. Close walking distance to restaurants, pubs, shopping. A very nice space with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Kitchen, living room. Gorgeous views of the harbor from the large windows. The picture in the ad is very accurate. The manager Dilja was very accommodating in our communications. Highly recommend if you want to live outside of a hotel situation.
