We had a superior room and it was great. It included an island with a sink and coffee/tea maker. We had a window and could see the front facing the town and enjoyed it. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We had breakfast one day of our stay and it was very good with several choices on the buffet. The staff is wonderful! They were warm and welcoming every time we walked into the lobby and they gave us wonderful suggestions for restaurants, all of which were excellent. They were very helpful in suggesting things to see and made us feel very comfortable. The location is perfect for walking the downtown area. I had noticed in previous reviews that people gave high ratings for location and staff, and I’d have to say that is spot-on. In our last day, the staff allowed us to leave our luggage after check out so we could go eat before we caught the bus to the airport. That was very helpful. We would be happy to stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had breakfast booked and ticked all of our boxes, hot scrambled egg with bacon, cereal, juice, T-C, cold meats, fruit, and even a nice doughnut shape cake, the lady serving was very nice and polite.

While the noise insulation to the outside was excellent, the noice between rooms was very loud, particularly from the room above me--the footfalls felt amplified, and in the hall outside my door--constant door slamming. The staff were lovely, even moved my room, but there is nothing that can be done about the building itself.

The front desk staff at Kvosin were amazing! Right from the start they did their best to make us happy during our stay. From helping us with a very early check-in to taking the reins and rescheduling our bookings so we could get a nap in before heading to see the sights (overnight flights suck), Elayna and the guys at the desk were awesome! Oh and the room was super nice - 2 bedrooms, living area and kitchen - would have loved to stay there a couple more days but had to head West. Highly recommend this hotel when in Reykjavik

Very good hotel. Needed a room for 5 which most hotels can't do but got a great room with two double beds and a sofa bed. There was a comfortable seating area and table plus kitchenette and a good coffee machine.
There was plenty of space for everyone and the location is fantastic, literally a two minute walk from lots of bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Staff were nice and the room was clean and had great facilities. The issue was the noise levels. Everytime someone walked it sounded as if they were stomping and periodically when I presume another room used their facilities a mini waterfall sound came down. Overall it's a wonderful place but the noise is too great and even with wearing earplugs to bed it was too loud.

Beautiful hotel. Close to shops and restaurants. Spotlessly clean. The only issue was the kitchen area: we booked an apartment as we were bringing children and wanted to make our own meals. There was one pan, one frying pan and two burners. No microwave, kettle or toaster meant we were very limited to what to cook. I would choose somewhere else if you wish to make your own meals. However, the apartment was perfect with this exception.

This hotel is gorgeous. It's centrally located. We loved the keyless entry which meant we could split up and head back to the hotel when we wanted. The staff was incredibly helpful in locating a local laundromat and calling a taxi for the return to the airport. The rooms were spacious and bright. The blackout curtains were helpful with ambient street light.

You could walk to all shops and restaurants in Reykjavík. The staff & service was the best part of our stay! They were beyond accommodating. They made our taxi reservations, called our tour company and provided personal recommendations on restaurants. We would highly recommend Kvosin Hotel and if we ever return to beautiful Iceland we will book with them again. Thank you!

Lovely hotel in the perfect location in downtown Reykjavik. Walkable to everything. The hotel was immaculate, the room was great and the heated towel rack in the bathroom was awesome! Bring your own conditioner if you use that because they only give you shampoo and you only get liquid bath gel so also bring soap if you like that instead. And we could see the Northern Lights from our balcony one night! We upgraded to a room with a balcony. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a really beautiful place. Very welcoming and warm staff. Complimentary coffee, teas and pastries in reception. We visited just after Christmas time and it was decorated beautifully. We stayed in a bigger room and the children used the bed settee. It was set up when we arrived. Individual duvets for everyone. Lovely towels and toiletries. Coffee machine in the room with various pods, teas and creamers. Electric hob was useful as we had an early start one day and cooked eggs. Thank you, Adrian for advising we need to put the pan on to heat things up! Hotel breakfast is delicious. Lots of choice. Cereals, breads, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bacon, eggs, pancakes the list goes on. Really enjoyed it being a small hotel, friendly fellow guests. It's close to Bus Stop #1 and #3 depending on your trip pick-up/drop-off. Right next to the lake. We fed the ducks frequently. Very close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. A truly great location. Thank you Kvosin Downtown we're so happy we chose you and you looked after us perfectly. Happy New Year to all.

It is in the perfect location, easily walkable to many shops, restaurants and bars.
The beds were extremely comfortable with great blackout curtains, and the shower was wonderful.
We were upgraded to a larger room, which had a small kitchenette that came equipped with one frying pan, one pot with a lid, cups, plates, silverware, as well as dish soap, and a sponge and towel for cleaning. There was also a small Nespresso maker with coffees and teas replenished each day.
The room was really spacious! We had a cute balcony on the second floor as well as a nice sofa, TV and a separate bedroom area with ample closet Space.
The bath products were also amazing and the bathroom was a great size! There are also lots of lights in the room.
You are given a code to enter a digital keypad to enter your room. Make sure you store this in your phone so you don’t forget it as there didn’t seem to be staff that stayed overnight at the hotel.
The only downside, if any, was the many ledges and steps to get to our room with luggage. There is an elevator, however, our room was a little far from the front desk, requiring us to haul Our luggage up and down a few stairs and ledges.
We did not eat the breakfast on site as it was very pricey at €24 per person per day.

This is an amazing location, the room was perfect and exactly as described, and the people working at the front desk were incredibly nice and helpful. We arrived several hours early, and expected to drop off our bags, and instead our room was ready and they let us check in early. The front desk appears to have someone there 24/7, we saw someone there when we left/arrived after aurora hunting at 1am and 2am, and they always asked how it went, but you can enter with your code at any time. I specifically wanted a kitchenette because I have picky eaters and wanted to be able to make food for them. Our room had a fridge and a stovetop, which suited our needs perfectly. Despite the amazing location, this was not the most expensive hotel meeting our needs. It was also a perfect location for tour pickups, which was incredibly convenient. I would absolutely stay here again, and I would absolutely recommend it to friends traveling to the area.

This is a nice hotel in a convenient location. We were able to walk to most of the downtown attractions or catch the bus a block away at the city hall.
The room was clean, well maintained, and a good size. The breakfast buffet had a decent selection and was a good price compared to similar options in the area.

Hotel is ideally placed for exploring Reykjavík with most destinations an easy walking distance. The hotel itself is exceptionally decorated and really feels high end when you walk in, amenities were excellent it had everything you could need and our room was spacious, warm and spotlessly clean. Be aware that parking is a little tricky there is paid parking very close by to drop bags off etc but we found it tricky to find a space we ended up parking a 10min walk away in a multi storey car park which was good, safe and secure but just be aware if you have lots of luggage!
We also felt breakfast had a good selection but was quite expensive for what it was compared to breakfast costs at some of the other hotels we stayed at over our 10 day trip.

The staff were lovely, I had talked to two male members of staff during my stay and they were both outstanding. Very knowledgeable, keen to help us explore and gave great travel advice, also very friendly and were always excited to hear what we had planned. We had an excellent stay at the hotel. I forgot which number bus stop it was near but, it helped out that it was close by. The room itself was clean, warm, and comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect for us as we were able to come back and have dinner and breakfast before heading out. The area that it was in was also perfect and walkable to other areas in the city. It was still in the crowd but also away from it as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

2 adults + 2 kids (6 & 9) - August 2025. Really nice room (biggest room) with two sleeping areas, a living area, kitchenette and street view. It really made for a comfortable and pleasant vacation. Conveniently located to all the main restaurants, shopping and harbor. Bus stop 1 is only a minute away, where you catch day tours. Wonderful staff (thanks Sergey & Gina!) and a nice breakfast in the bar area. I highly recommend and will stay there again.

This was my second time staying at Kvosin downtown hotel and it was exceptional both times. Customer service at the front desk was top notch. They were so gracious and helpful with everything from lending us a power adapter to giving us a heads up on street closures, to helping me figure out how to use the induction cooktop in our kitchen. The room (really like an apartment) was spacious and immaculate. It felt like we were living like locals for the week. We were in close proximity to great restaurants, but we also had fun cooking dinner in our kitchen. Breakfast downstairs in the morning was delicious and had a good variety including vegan options.
Kvosin is close to everything — it’s in the perfect location for tourists, with a beautiful view of the lake, and wonderful daily cleaning service. Parking nearby was easy. I cannot say enough good things about this place! We will definitely be staying again.

This hotel is in a perfect location and walkable to the main street and most of the City. The front desk staff is friendly. The rooms are cozy and clean. We've stayed here twice: once with our kids and once as a couple. We love that they have rooms with living areas, small kitchens, and second bedrooms. The second bedroom and bathroom was extremely small, but standard for Iceland i guess.
