The room was really nice and the staff were so friendly. We really enjoyed the breakfast and highly recommend this hotel. Conveniently located in Reykjavík and close to the bus stops for transfers.

I stayed here for 5 nights and couldn't fault anything with this hotel. The location was fantastic. A short 3 minute walk to bus stop 1 at the city hall. I got a bus from the airport to there and caught two different buses for tours to the golden circle and the northern lights as well. As a solo traveller this was perfect as there was nothing to worry about. There was also a free shuttle bus there to Grandi area.
There were numerous restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars in close proximity. You didn't really need to go very far after a long day out. The harbour, waterfront, shopping streets and main attractions were all at most 20 mins walk away in different directions (except Perlan which was 30-40 mins). The whole city was walkable. I didn't have to use any transport apart from going on tours.
The service at the hotel was excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Always someone available with a smile. The cleaning staff were extremely polite.
My room was super comfortable. The bed and pillow were perfect and I slept right through. I've seen others reviews highlighting noise being an issue. My room was on the third floor and located off a central quiet courtyard that didn't face onto the main road. It was super quiet. Yes, there were a few noisy guests who didn't know how to open and close doors quietly but I think that's expected in hotels as long as they are at appropriate hours, which they were.

Room was not very clean and the lighting was poor. The property felt old and pieced together. The water had a distinct sulfur smell which made it unpleasant. Have stayed in Reykjavik many times and this is not a property that I will frequent again.

However not sure why the modern trend is to deny privacy on the loo. Much as I love my travel companion not sure I want to hear all their full bodily functions. The door was glass and not fitted to a door frame so privacy was minimal. Surely a hotel of this calibre could do better.

The hotel itself was really good. It was in the city center, within walking distance of most landmarks, and if not, there was really good public transport. The hotel was clean. The view from the window was amazing (I guess it depends on the side of the room, but ours was perfect), and it was really quiet despite a lot of guests.

Hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Reykjavik with great transport links and easily accessible. Staff on the front desk were warm and welcoming and catered to our needs. The room was clean and spacious, and we were on the 8th floor which had an amazing view over the city. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend to any family or friends that are visiting Reykjavik.

The hotel is very clean, friendly staff, and the breakfast was great especially to have before early morning tours. The location is excellent. It's 2-3 blocks from bus stop 1 where most tours will pick up and drop off. Right across the street is access to streets filled with shops and restaurants. It felt like everything was within walking distance.

I love the location of this hotel. It is very central, thus it is within walking distance to stores, restaurants, landmarks and the harbour where we catched the boat for a notrthern lights tour. It might be noisy if you have one of the front rooms, but we were so tired from the day activities that it didn't bother us. If you are looking for a night life, there are bars and restaurants accross the street. During winter, they have a skating ring for kids in the plaza in front of it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable for the three of us. We didn't get the chance to try the hotel's restaurant. However we tried the famous icelandic hot dog, which is a two minutes walk from the hotel, and Sæta Svínið Gastropub across the street. Both were very good.

The staff were rude once we did not decide to pay for early check in. They put us in a room in the furthest corner of the hotel that was not accessible especially with heavy luggage. The room had a big smell upon entering and many of the bathroom amenities were broken. The windows and walls are also thin so it was loud being around the city center.

The first room, the bathroom door did not shut properly and there was no way to stand up to shower. The second room, the roof was slanted for half the bedroom (we were in the attic level), and I constantly bumped my head when I was getting out of bed or kneeling over to get into my suitcase.

I stayed at Center Hotels Plaza on my first night in Reykjavik, and Center Hotels Klopp on my final night.
If you're a light sleeper, you definitely want this one (Plaza) and not Klopp. I slept well here.
If you like to be close to the nightlife, either hotel is a short walk from the action, although Klopp is a little closer.
If you want a large hotel room... maybe look elsewhere. I couldn't believe how small the hotel room was when I arrived! However, for a solo traveller, it was fine enough.

Liked this “Executive Twin Room” much better than standard twin for a minimal differences. The only thing we did not like was that our balcony was not private!! During our 2 nights stay, and we were out most of the day time, a man (possibly a hotel employee) walked across our balcony 5 times!! Can’t take an advantage of floor to ceiling huge windows that way!! They need to work on this n change.
