The hotel was great! I traveled with my wife and young son. We stayed in the suite and it had a lot of room for the 3 of us. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The spa was great and had a cool view outside through the roof. The restaurant onsite was amazing for breakfast, drinks and dinner.

Had a wonderful stay. The spa was amazing but be sure to make a reservation in order to use the space. Parking for the hotel is along the city streets and must be paid for via an app between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm. The front desk staff assisted us with setting up the app upon our arrival. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Old Harbor area which hosts a variety of restaurants, bars, and tour meeting places. Finally, while the breakfast buffet was adequate, there were other options close by to choose from.

Great hotel a bit outside Reykjavik city center but very walkable. Bus stop 17 (for flybus and tours) was less than a 5 min walk away.
Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are huge lockers in the lobby you can use after check out.
Cute bar area and lobby.
Room is fairly small and lacks any storage (no drawers to store clothes). It’s clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom close with a partial glass door and sink is in the room (not in bathroom). Did not use the spa (would maybe have checked it out if there wasn’t an additional charge). Overall I would stay here again. Loved the hotel cat!

No bureau and barely any room to hang clothes. couldn't hang a long coat on it. the space for the tub in the bathroom could have been used as a closet. bathroom sink was almost unusable as it was so small. no room for toiletries room was always too hot. front desk staff was awesome. breakfast was well done but unfortunately would never stay again.

I’ve given it 4 stars because I felt the breakfast was good but a little basic with not enough hot vegetarian options, and the location was a bit farther out so, longer walks, longer bus journeys or more taxis. Taxis are not cheap.
It was expensive at the bar and cafe…but I don’t think it would be any different elsewhere in the city.
Not sure I’d go back to this hotel, but I would check out one of their other hotels in the city.

So, the stay was good, my only issue was the plumbing backing up into my room from other rooms. I would open the toilet to someone else’s brown fecal residue lingering in the toilet. I don’t think someone came in my room and took a dump so I assume it was from the plumbing.

We had such a nice stay at Grandi. We had a suite on 5th floor which was well appointed and cosy with a balcony that had a nice view over the port. Bed was comfy and there were 2 bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including fresh tropical fruit and we enjoyed the cafe and bakery on first floor. All the staff were lovely and kind and special highlight was meeting the hotel cat. We loved the spa area which was really relaxing and warming after a cold day sightseeing. Hotel is conveniently located for Lava Show, Fly Over Island and its not far to the old town. Really recommend this as a warm welcoming and cosy place to stay.

Without question, my best stay of the year! The staff are so warm and inviting. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel itself is cozy yet luxe, and the on-site spa is intimate and perfect for a vacation stay. I loved the restaurant and bakery inside the hotel. Nice hotel - rooms are clean, not fancy, but it’s tastefully done. We opted for the sauna and breakfast package. Breakfast is good given everything cost so much in Iceland. Sauna was excellent, we went in the low season so it was easy to make nightly reservations in the morning. Saunas were well used but never overly crowded due to the reservation system. Hotel itself doesn’t have parking, but if you looked carefully you can find free parking in the area, just make sure you’re not on the few streets that require patment. About 1/2 mile to major shopping areas - definitely walkable, other than in inclement weather.

This was a trip with my wife and daughter. We were flying standby with no guarantee that all of us (or any of us) would have a seat. I contacted the hotel ahead of our stay asking to allow my wife to checkin even if I'm not present. They accepted, and confirmed they added a note to my reservation.
Upon arrival, you guessed it, they refused to let my wife checkin and insisted that I had to be there. Fortunately, all of us had made the flight and I was only 20 minutes behind as I was running an errand. But I can't imagine how pissed I would have been if I hadn't boarded the flight and they'd leave my wife and daughter unable to checkin for a room that we had already paid in full. So yeah, it's a pretty serious issue so I'm taking away two stars for that reason. The rest was fine, just that checkin issue. What's the point of contacting the hotel well in advance to make arrangements and the hotel agreeing to the requests for it to be ignored or denied upon arrival? I wasted my time and they wasted theirs in all those pre-arrival comunications, and had I not made the flight the consequences would have been very bad.

We stayed at Grandi by Centre Hotels for 5 nights and from start to finish it was fantastic.
The staff were super helpful and friendly and helped with any questions we had.
The room was lovely. We had a balcony, no furniture but we made do with what we had.
When we arrived to the room I was greeted with a note and a selection on mini cakes as it was my birthday- a nice touch.
The spa was fab and relaxing.
Breakfast had a great choice and staff were on hand to replenish when things were running low.
The hotel location was within walking distance from the harbour and a few shops.
Down town bars are within walking distance too.

I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to thank all of the staff for making us feel so welcome.

Location of the hotel is great, 5-10 minute walk into the centre. Even managed to catch the aurora outside the hotel.
Rooms were spacious, but lacked storage especially in the bathroom with no shelving to put your stuff
Had issues with current construction, making it impossible to stay in your rooms at all in the day as the noise was too much. So if you need a preflight rest in the day, it’s not going to happen


Pre booking the spa should be advertised. As it had to be 24hrs in advance, so if you stay for 1 night you basically can’t use it.

The hot tubs and sauna was lovely and a great addition. But a shame that the booking of using it is not as relaxing as the spa
