Clean rooms made up every day. Lovely resort. Pools could be warmer but then that's standard for all outdoor pools. I expected the indoor pool to be warmer than the outdoor though and it isn't. Gym is very dated and could do with modernising, but having said that still a better offer than most places. Second year we've been back so despite the small points it's clear we enjoy the place and woundn't hesitate to return. Not sampled the food there or the all inclusive so can't comment on that.

I stayed at this hotel on a half-board basis and overall felt it was good value for money.

The food was buffet style. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, and at dinner there was always enough variety to find something to eat. The only downside was that some of the hot dishes could occasionally be a little lukewarm.

The complex itself is quite large, with several smaller pools as well as a bigger main pool. It’s also possible to walk from the hotel down to the beachfront, which is convenient if you want to eat out or explore the area.

The rooms include a small kitchen area with a fridge, which was really useful for keeping drinks and snacks. My room had a balcony, although it didn’t get much direct sunlight as it was north facing, so it wasn’t ideal for drying swimwear.

There is also a self-service laundry on site with two washers and two dryers, which was simple and convenient to use.

The staff were hardworking, always present around the complex, and helpful whenever needed.

There is also bicycle hire within the complex offering a great range of bikes. The staff there were very helpful, offering advice on various cycling routes around the area. They were professional, friendly, and seemed to be experienced cyclists themselves, which made it easy to get good local recommendations.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay and felt the hotel offered good value for the price

My third time staying over due to the proximity to Playa Blanca and the family friendly nature of the THB Tropical especially for young children. Loads of pools and fun activities for the whole family.First visit was in 2018. However the rooms need refreshing. I appreciate that it’s an all year resort so doing up the rooms will be a nightmare financially. But my rooms looked, smelt and felt like a revamp was urgently needed.

Settee and beds too low. No tea and coffee supplied. No walk in shower. Require step outside bath and high safety grab bar on shower wall. Air conditioning very difficult to control. Everything else in apartment was excellent.
Free bus to beach was inadequate as it does not run often enough and should also have a second stop in town centre.
Sports bar is uncomfortable with cheap furniture and is far too small.
The pool snack bar was excellent providing good food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
Unfortunately the picnic benches are very uncomfortable for elderly folk.
Restaurants and buffet meals were very good.
Reception was very helpful and pleasant to deal with especially Patricia who was delightful and a wonderful hostess.

Overall it was a good stay. The rooms could be a bit more updated as there was a lot of dust and holes in the corners of the room. We had an issue with the bathroom but had the cleaner attend the next day. The pools outside the rooms are very convenient. The staff are helpful and on hand 24/7 to provide advice and guidance.

Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. While the complex is large and has plenty of pools, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.

When we arrived, the room wasn't very clean, and I was shocked to find hair on the fresh bedsheets, which is completely unacceptable. We also noticed there were no slippers provided in the room, which added to the lack of comfort.

The resort itself is large, full of pools, and good value for money — no complaints there. However, our experience was unfortunately very negative due to a serious breach of security.

The hotel uses duplicate door numbers — for example there are two 524s, one in “Island” and one in “Tropical.” At around 2am, our door was jimmied open by a drunk guest with his own key. We woke up to find a stranger in our bathroom using the toilet, while a child ran out of our front door into the night. He was apologetic, but the incident was frightening — someone was able to access our room while we were asleep.

When I reported this to reception, the staff member laughed and asked, “What do you want me to do?” She dismissed the issue and suggested nothing could be done to make the door more secure. The maintenance worker arrived, did not speak English, translated “impossible” through our phone, and left.

Thankfully, my partner is a carpenter and he personally fixed the dropped door hinges so that we could double-lock the door — meaning the door was only secure because we repaired it ourselves, not because the hotel took responsibility.

Given someone was able to enter our room at night with another room key and the hotel showed no concern or willingness to address a clear security flaw, we would not stay here again. Nice hotel physically, but extremely poor safety and guest care.

We have stayed here twice now and found it ok both times first was all inclusive the food is good feels a bit canteen like in the restaurants the pools are good both smaller ones and the big pool. Entertainment was good by the pool with the big mat got lots of engagement maybe they should do that daily

Good few days away would go back ideal for familie

Booked for a few days and was definitely value for money had a spacious apartment for 3 adults ideal. We were on ground floor so had a terrace with table and chairs which was ideal sitting in the sun having breakfast lunch and a refreshing drink. Lovely pool friendly neighbours just a bit out from centre 30min walk but couple euros in taxi

Staff at the hotel are great very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but I did find a couple of long hairs on the bed but other than that it was spotless. There is plenty to do at the hotel with entertainment and wellness centre and bike hire. Amenities in the room are quite good but you need to hire iron from the reception for 10€ deposit. Same with pool towels. The only let down is the area around the hotel. It looks like wasteland in places and smells of sewage but luckily you can't smell it in the hotel. It's a nice hotel especially for the price. If I ever do come back to Lanzarote which I probably won't I would definitely stay here again.

The customer service was mediocre, queues were long food was not 4 star standard and not good value for money. The rooms were small with tiny balconies and no sun. The floors were not cleaned and the self catering aspect was difficult to use as very tiny area and tiny table. Not family friendly apartment as adults could not sleep in the converted beds in the living area as only fit for children. This made the living arrangements not very relaxed or easy in the evening times. The cleaning team did not come at regular set times in the morning so it made it difficult to plan your exit and re-entry times. You have to pay a cash deposit for pool towels and then go and hand in the receipt elsewhere and it is a real faf. Not all the polls are heated which is a real shame as the kids could not use some of them particularly the water slides one unless they were in a wetsuit and this took away a lot of the available activities for them. The kids club was pretty basic with coloring and a small soft play- I expected them to get out and play games and do sport to burn off some steam. People seemed to smoke everywhere with little regard for signage saying you could not. It was an okay stay but disappointed with the food and the mediocre service given the prices charged it just wasn’t good enough. We were lucky with the weather and so could get out and about as it was in a decent location to beach and restaurants but if it had not been fine I think we would have really struggled here.

Nice resort. Food on buffett was not very impressed. Thought the pools were heated but they were freezing cold. Last night got food poisoning.
Overall was ok and chilled. Recommend for family holidays. Kids enjoyed it.
The amenities need alot of TLC they very old and outdated. The gym area was absolute terrible old and non function equipment. Did not use the wellness as you have to pay extra and after seeing the gym I did not bother. Overall ok only there for bit of fun and sunshine but defined disappointed with food and amenities. Staff were nice and welcoming. The food poisoning at end ruined the trip but ok.

After we repeatedly called for cleaning, someone came and just changed the sheets one day. Floors, bathroom, kitchen bin nothing was cleaned. Very poor service.

The location is not walking distance to the town. The gym and spa facilities are dated. The room cleanness is poor - ants on the table, day after day despite they came to spray DDT. The food is very basic both at breakfast and dinner eg run mushroom and packaged cookies!

Lovrly hotel, rooms are a little dated but really clean. The ourside areas are looked after really well. Lovely Christmas decorations around so felt festive.
The pools in each area made sure it was never too busy and there were plenty of sunbeds. The adult pool was a bonus and the regular pool is a great size.
Less than 20 min walk to the beach there is a free shuttle bus twice a day and a supermarket just where the bus stopsped.
Would definitely stay again.

This is my second time visiting this hotel. It has a large territory, good size pools, beach is 15min walk or you can use their shuttle bus which leaves twice daily. Rooms were cleaned regularly. My favourite part tho, was the food. It was tasty and every night had a different theme.

The rooms are really nice. The breakfasts are filling and absolutely delicious. The lunch and dinners are quite nice. There are 2 beaches nearby and lots of shops and restaurants. On Saturday mornings there is a market that you can go to. In the majority of the blocks is a small pool and they're very nice. There's also an adults only pool, and the main pool. The main pool has slides and a little splash park. Me and my family have really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend

An adults only bar next to the island restaurant for coffees and pre and post dinner drinks indoors would be an improvemnet using the wasted space of second reception.room and pools were all excellent.we noticed the size of the plastic cups had reduced? And removal of nice sunbeds in adult pool area. Free pool towels at the adults only would also be an improvement. Hope to come many mote times. Only negative was the coach loads of french that came at the end of our stay because the only one restruant open became far too busy and many of them were coughing for some reason. We expect because they came on mass.

Hotels.com/expedia didn’t send my reservation over to the hotel so when I arrived there was no reservation for me.
I had to pay again and sort this mess out myself in the middle of the night on arrival with 2 small children. Thankfully the hotel had a room. I then wasted all of the following morning on the phone still trying to sort it out. Absolutely disgusting.

It had such potential but the water was so cold it was very hard to enjoy it especially with a young child. The food was very disappointing. The

It is what it is. If you can get it cheap enough, you can use it as a base to visit the beach, Playa Blanca and the island. It's well located, near good things, without being great itself. The restaurants are congested and badly organised but the food is ok. There is no adult evening entertainment so you go to say Princesa Yaiza hotel or into Playa Blanca. This is where Tropical Island falls down badly. There is a basic sports bar which is friendly and clean, and a dome which always sounds like a right noisy racket but seems popular with young children so this is perhaps a good hotel for young families.

This hotel in my opinion has 3 stars.
If you wish to have 4 stars experience better book 5 stars hotel in Lanzarote.
The hotel is family friendly, lots of different areas to entertain the children, staff are very helpful.
Rooms clean and average, missing iron. Make sure you book pool view and maybe ground floor, 1st floor is great as well. Some rooms are outdated and with issues.
Make sure you have cash with you for swimming pool towels.
Small groceries shop located within the hotel, games area with all you need for self catering stay.
Restaurant too small for the property capacity and located underground, not much natural light, windows view : stones.
Food is ok and fresh, cannot say I was impressed with the selections. Depends on each person taste.
Pools, cold water not heated, maybe it is better during summer time.
Entertainment fun for kids.
Location : 15min walking to beach
I would suggest renting a car if you are traveling with kids, too hot for them to walk.
Overall I would recommend for families with limited budget looking for some sun and fun for kids.

Great apartment by one of their many pools. Ours was very quiet which was great as we weren't allowed in adults area with our 17 year old. Staff work very hard across the hotel and generally very clean. Great location but wouldn't want to stay longer than a week as got very repetitive. Very good for relaxing break.

When you are initially booking this property don’t be fooled by the pictures of the apartment interior. and apparent 4star rating.
The apartment was very old, and definitely in need of some urgent TLC and a bigger TV - nothing like the pictures. The shower screen is a health and safety hazard along with the furniture and the toilet had a slow leak which had a foul odour coming up throughout our stay.
I tried to have us moved straight away but sadly being the Easter bank holiday, there was no availability!
I would have been much happier to pay extra just to get out of there. But the kids were so tired that in the end we decided to just get on with it.
The exterior of the property and surrounding gardens & swimming pools however are quite lovely and clean. There is enough space and activities for everyone alike to enjoy.
Such a shame about the apartment.

We had a good stay at the Tropical island - however very basic. The start with, the hotel is incredibly clean and the cleaners do a fantastic job daily. The facilities (incl. pools, activities, splash park etc) were great for the kids. However, the food at breakfast and evenings was poor - always just luke warm and not of great quality. The other restaurants out with the buffet were not open during our stay which we were not informed. We stayed in February which is considered a quiet time for them and the queue for check-in took ages to get through. There were also a number of things (access keys/towels/poolside drinks) that we required cash for and were also not informed of, which was incredibly inconvenient given we do not like to travel with cash. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and the kids enjoyed it but I wouldn’t necessarily return.

A big resort with lots of facilities, well-designed apartments but not our first stay here and standards have gone down. It took over 2 days, many phone calls and visit to reception to get Wi-Fi fixed - very inconvenient and staff were not proactive in fixing the problem or testing it out, nor always friendly. They assumed that no complaint meant everything was sorted. Also no cleaning products provided for the kitchen - no sponge, washing up liquid, tea towels, kitchen roll or wiping cloths - they don't make it easy to keep the place clean! Also very minimal utensils, pans etc. Lastly, the cheek of them trying to charge EUR 40 when asked if could check out 1 hour later, even though hotel was quiet and the room was available.

Not recommended if planning to cook or use the WiFi.

Tropical Island is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are starting to look a little tired but are kept very clean and have everything you need. They really need to get the issue with the back gate sorted. For those with mobility issues it would be a no go if that is not fixed. It adds another 900 metres to the trek back from beach or bars, not easy.

Over all we had a great holiday here.
The staff were really great, most were super friendly all were helpful!
The complex is a bit dated (well used and weather worn) but the maintenance staff are constantly fixing, painting etc
The cleaners are busy but because the place is well worn it can never feel pristine
We didn’t go all inclusive but ate in the restaurants a couple of times, food was good although there is no ambiance in the canteen style buffet - there are some amazing places to eat nearby though
Having so many pools is great. The main pool is super busy and loud but the adult only area is lovely and relaxing
Getting loungers and umbrellas at the main pool was tough unless you got up super early

We were travelling with our 5 year old who loved the slides and water park. She tried the kids club a couple times and enjoyed it too
The entertainment at night was alright - not amazing but was a safe place for kids to have fun. The mini disco was really loved

We stayed at THB Tropical Island as a family of 4 for a week. We had booked a Premium Apt with pool view, but received 9ne with a Garden View, not a big issue. Rooms were a bit tired looking and could do with a bit of freshening up, however they were cleaned daily and met the families needs. Great grounds within the complex, plenty of pools but we mainly stayed around the main pool. You will always find a sunbed but will need to go down early to get and umbrella. Some of the songs around the pool wouldnt be family orientated, however if your enjoying yourself, you wouldnt be paying attention to the music. We did self catering but opted to pay on two morningsfor breakfast, €12 per adult, children free, had everything you need. Opt to get a back gate key, cuts 5mins off your time to the beach/town, which is a nice 10min stroll. Overall a good stay.

The pool we looked over was very dirty this was cleaned after I complained. The lift was worn out to the property and nearly threadbare. The area in front of our door was dirty floor ,ceiling and walls.
The property was lovely in other blocks and could be lovely if it was cleaned and had some money spent in areas. I did complain and ask to be moved or have a refund this could not be arranged immediately and after day 2 I said I would stay asm it didnt seem worth it then and I had got used to the dirt.

This hotel is within walking distance of the beach and restaurants.

The hotel is great for families with the slides pool and entertainment.

The accommodation was clean.

The only negative was the food was not the best, so we ended eating out for lunch and dinner.

Great room only base with lovely relaxing spaces

Third visit to Tropical Island we use it as a room only base. The apartments are super clean and comfortable with lovely landscaped surroundings or small pools if you prefer. We find it a very relaxing place to be but enjoy the entertainment round the family pool too. We go out for all meals and have the occasional snack in our room from the supermarket. Playa Blanca restaurants are too good to miss.

Nice hotel. Rooms are nice and spacious. Hotel was clean. Use of the fridge and cooking utensils good if not all inclusive. The extensive pools were great for the kids and the slides were great fun.

Great Family Holiday

Very Clean, pools are great, adult pool brilliant for decent lane swimming. Around 44m. Kids loved it especially the splash pool. Very safe and kids loved the freedom being able to roam around. Asro pritch and tennis courts in good nick.
Would highly reommend for young family.

Location is perfect, not too close to playa banca high street not too far. My kids love swimming pool and we like the fact that every 30/40 apartment had their own swimming pool plus the main pool which is common for the whole hotel. That’s unique as I have never seen that before. Parking was easy. Entertainment was good. We only opted for Breakfast, but that was good too. During our stay we noticed that fridge was not working so we notified to the hotel staff and were surprised that they replaced with brand new fridge. As a suggestion I would only suggest one thing that fridge should have freezer section as well. But overall it was very good experience. 10/10.

Fantastic apartments for 3 or 4 people. Kitchenette was on the small side but we didn't do as much cooking as we were planing to, so it was perfect. The food at the restaurants was great, with so many options to chose from with \"eat as much as you can\" buffets, we paid separately for this, not sure if the \"all included option\" would have worked out better for us, since we ate out a few times during our stay during fantastic day out trips (some booked privately with independent tour bus companies).
The curtains completely black out the light, so that can provide a bit more sleep in the mornings. It feels very safe around the huge area of the apartments complex.
In the mornings around 7:30am the hotel personnel do their rounds with their trollies, the noise of the wheels woke me up a few times - I guess that's unavoidable but it would have been very quiet apart from that. At the end of our stay the hotel seemed to have filled up (high season), I was grateful that during our stay the hotel wasn't as busy.
There were mini disco parties for kids at 8:30pm, and other events after that for the \"grown ups\", that kids also enjoyed. This was very nice and better if you (or your kids) manage to make friends with other families and have a drink with them.
If you want to relax and have some peace and quiet time, try to get a room that doesn't have a pool just outside (pools are all at easy reach anyway).
Lanzarote and this hotel were the perfect choice for a memorable holiday!

I cannot fault this hotel, I travelled as a solo female & felt very safe, the staff are very friendly, evening entertainment was good, food was excellent with plenty of choice.
rooms are very spacious & clean.
A short stroll to the town with nice bars & shops.
I will return later in the year.

We have just come back and had a lovely stay, the apartments were clean and well kept, well equipt and maintained. The complex itself is very big, slightly dysfunctional, only one family bar open during the day so unless you're at the main pool area during the day you have a little walk around the complex to get a drink, although it looks as though there are other facilites to have a bar, maybe theyre open during the summer. We were all inclusive the food was do able, always something to find, again the dining area was dysfunctional, three sections which didn't really flow and very much like a canteen, plastic tables and chairs. The snack bar was convenient offering usual fast food, salad and sandwiches, but often a little queue. We dont really drink so cannot comment on this side of things. Pool areas were well kepts, the main pool was freezing but thr individual pools at the apartment blocks were heated. The sports facilities were great fun, the entertainment was usual holiday entertainment- something for everyone. Kids club i wouldn't recommend- day 1 my 2 children escaped and made their way back to our room past 5 pools without anyone noticing, luckily we were just getting some bits from our room, we went back to make kids club aware but not really bothered, day 2 we made a point of sendng them back thrn the staff chased after us and was flustered as our just 4 year old had been arguing with a group of girls - it seems kids club cant cope with kids so they didnt go back.

This resort was okay but is definitely not 4 star. Is should be a 3 star resort - certainly if you compare to nearby newer hotels and aparthotels.

The two bedroom apartment was adequate and okay but for a family of 4, the sofa bed was uncomfortable and didn't give good quality sleep.

The breakfast in general had lots of choice but the hot typical Western food was either overcooked (fried eggs) or not tasty.
If you stuck to the fruit and bread then it was okay .

The large poolside snack bar had the worst food we had throughout the holiday .... luckily we had a hire car to get out to other restaurants etc.

Staff were very pleasant and the pool areas were many ... but FREEZING water! Be warned! Our four year old contracted a fever because of this.

Don't get me wrong, - it's an okay resort but we would have paid more for higher standard accommodation.

Fab Hotel and worth it

I have just returned from a week in this lovely hotel.
i have travelled to caranes many times but first time staying here. And our family love it ….So
the moment we arrived great check in lovely man who explained everything to us. our hotel room was so nice spotless comfortable, a lovely bottle of Gin for us too which was a great. we were there on Breakfast only and that was lovely everyday plenty of choices. The staff at this hotel work so hard and are so pleasant to everyone.....
Thank you hotel tropical we will be back.

Second visit. Even worse than first one. 5th Dec found bread with mould . Spoken to staff (lady with curly short hair) Her reaction. Ah ok. Thats it. No apologises nothing else. Food loads of fat everywhere. Fries,meat,sauces,pizza. Food is disgusting up there. Few people agreed with me. Drinks ok not bad at all. Went self catering but one guy at recepcion offered All inc band for €20 a day cash to his pocket. We did meet at some point and exchanged money for blue band. Not bad deal. Hotel areas clean. Rooms so so. No cleaning service on Sunday.

Beautiful aparthotel. The pools and environment are lovely, lots of activities for adults and the kida. Small Pools are heated for comfort, the main pool is freezing however. Rooms are a bit basic and could do with renovating the design, especially the bathroom.
All inclusive is great but we got bored of the food after a few days, but considering the low cost to add on all inclusive compared to just apartment then it was worth it as many hotels charge this much for breakfast alone. However the soft drinks are incredibly watered down.

The worst hotel I have visited in my life. Good points. Resort looks clean and tidy around pools and walkways. The man working around Adults pool really loves his job and he is the best one in the complex. Now bad points. Absolutely disgusting food. Never ever seen so bad food choices in my life. Fish undercooked. Asked to leave for bit longer and I have received dirty look from chef. Don't like raw fish. Dinning area stinking of burned oil. Just disgusting. Bacon breakfast time. Never ever seen before small thin slice of meat covered with 6/8 fat. Disgusting. Breakfast time. Guess what. No black teabags available for AI people. Really for English people??? There is tea from coffee machine available but it is disgusting. I have noticed few people have had own tea bags like PG . Shocking. My room doors inside were so dirty with some cream or paste . Asked 3 days to clean. No result. Housekeeping people keep doors open and don't see how dirty inside. Kitchen cupboards so dirty. Handles sticky and some fat marks on it. Finally didn't get room until 15:15 due to system error. I don't care about your system errors. No apologies no compensation. Nothing. Btw reception staff so rude. Specially man with longer blond hair. And the last. If you have bit later than check out time you won't find shower room. Shocking. Huge hotel and they are not able to organise basic shower room for travellers leaving late afternoon. Max -2 stars. Not 4 for key operated rusty doors.

Large property with many pools, staff constantly cleaning all areas, good shuttle to Playa Dorada twice a day although beach is easily within walking distance. Few restaurants open in February. Breakfast offering was same every day with no variety which made for boring eating over a week
