The hotel staff were very friendly and the spa in particular is well worth a visit. The rooms were fine and the pool area is nice in the sun. Drink options are quite varied with an upcharge for branded drinks which is expected on an all inclusive. The food was average, breakfast probably the best out of the 3 main meals. Food was quite badge and bland with not masses of choice but it was average.

The location is great and the promenade is the perfect place to take a stroll into the marina and beyond.

The hotel was on a quiet road and as the bar and entertainment areas were away from guest accommodation we were not disturbed at night. all amenities on site were good. The service from reception was good with any issues (safe door not opening, patio door handle broken) resolved quickly. Housekeeping and bar staff were exceptionally efficient and friendly . The dining experience was abysmal and the quality of food, especially hot food at dinner and breakfast was not acceptable for a 4 star hotel.

Staff is super friendly, dinner and breakfast are nice. However, the room was hot, and the AC didn’t work, they send someone to check but just looking at it and changing the air direction wasn’t going to help. As it was ground floor, sleeping with the window open wasn’t an option either so was very uncomfortable at night because it was so warm in the room. Also the internet didn’t work, once in a while I was able to connect but that was it. You would expect better in 2023…

We stayed at the Mirador before Covid, we enjoyed it so decided it would be a safe bet to stay again. We like to walk so its handy for getting out to the beaches at Papagayo and theres a complex nearby which has shops and cafes. Getting a taxi into town is easy and cheap. We arrived much later than planned but the receptionist checked us in efficiently and with good humour.
However, the wifi is poor, I had to tether off my phone; one receptionist I found to be quite surly and not at all a pleasant person to deal with and I saw her dealing with other guests in the same manner.

We had originally planned to stay at this hotel for seven nights. If you like quiet then this could be the place for you although to be honest the place was lifeless ! The bar area lacked atmosphere. They have chosen black tiles for the swimming pool which actually makes the water look dirty and uninviting. It’s in the middle of a residential area and a 20 minute walk to the marina, a 30 minute walk to Playa Dorada beach and 40 minutes to Playa Blanca town. The food was OK but lacked variety and not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. Most guests and staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. The plus side were the rooms which were spacious, clean and tidy and our room had an amazing sea view. The beds are really comfortable. However the bath towels were anything but and were extremely small and flimsy. After one night’s stay we voted with our feet and left. With a bit of TLC and a different approach this place could be really good

I have stayed here on several occasions because of its proximity to good beaches. The hotel facilities are good and several eateries are only minutes away if you don't want to spend every evening on site. Easy shuttle (Hoppa) to/from the airport if you are not a package holiday guest.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Life guard was exceptional he missed nothing and was always at hand to help the guests. The only negative I would have and it’s not a bad one is that they could do with having something a little less fancy for the plainer eaters among us, maybe some plain grilled chicken or fish. Overall our stay was amazing and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Generally a good hotel with excellent location and views. Only one person doing check in lead to 20 minutes wait. Inflexible about swooping a dinner for a lunch. No sachets of cafinated coffee in whole hotel but after 2 days of empty promises they found this. No half bottles if wine in restaurant useless for solo travelers. Life guard rude. Had to forward hotels.com email before they would check me in. I pulled mask down for face recognition on phone and was shouted at. So generally rude unhelpful staff.

Excellent stay once again. Friendly and helpful staff. Good COVID safety measures, although breakfast could get a little crowded and ‘risky’. Unfortunately other guests did not use the sanitiser wipes laid at each table for every meal, but hotel faultless in trying to ensure COVID security.

Staff were incredibly friendly on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. This continued to be the case throughout the stay. Food was pretty good and a fairly wide choice, Hotel and pool area were regularly cleaned. Evening entertainment was held in a downstairs room which lacked a bit of atmosphere and had no outdoor access which was a bit of a shame. Not sure if entertainment is moved in summer months? Daytime entertainment people were friendly, but not many people seemed to get involved so maybe a rethink on the activities being offered. Overall it was a good experience

This is an extremely well run hotel. We stayed in a garden apartment and it’s our 4th time here. We have taken January Holidays in the Canaries for nearly 40 years. Have stayed in many places, cheaper and much more expensive. But this hotel balances everything out. Good rooms, well kept pool areas, varied food at dinner and breakfast. Bar tariffs sensible and the staff are all brilliant. We used the spa and had massages. Prices are a little less than the uk. But first class service. Some winge about charging for the use of the spa facilities. But if they did not it would be unbearable As it’s a large hotel

In summary, this hotel is better than most in Playa Blanca. It’s 15 mins walk from the Rubicon Marina across a Devine paved cliff top walk. Plenty of taxis back if out really late

A great stay

We had a lovely room with a stunning sea view, bed was comfortable and room clean. Shower over bath had a waterfall head and hand held shower, and pressure was really good. Staff were really friendly and helpful.For an all inclusive stay we thought the food was excellent and much improved from our previous stay. Evening entertainment was a mixed bag and varied from the OK to the brilliant Il Divo tribute act. My only criticism with the entertainment is that we would have liked more of an opportunity to have a dance. The hotel had two pools the main one being a really good size with whirlpools and childrens area, there were plenty of sun loungers. For those that like to sun bathe au natural there is a roof terrace for this. We also took some Yoga and stretching classes. Anna was really good and seemed to be able to pitch the intensity to match the class ability extremely well, in fact we enjoyed it so much we joined a gym on our return. The location was about half hour walk to the town along the coastal promenade , but shuttle buses were provided if you didnt want to walk. The beautiful Papagayo beaches were also about a 30 to 40 minute walk away., and are highly recommended. Though we didnt particularly warm to the town of Playa Blanca we had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Mirador Papagayo and we will probably visit again to get our dose of winter sun.

The double room has a nice terrace area.

The buffet is self serve including drinks. The food and selection is average. Only decaffeinated coffee in the room.

The cocktails were nice! The coffee is also much nicer from the pool bar than restaurant and lobby bar.

The cleaning of our room was just basic but it didn't feel dirty.

Entertainment staff and pool bar staff were friendly.

Our third winter holiday to this hotel. We come back because the facilities, room, staff and location suit us well

We stay in garden apartment although a couple. It’s nice to have the small kitchen and lounge area with a lovely additional TV

The pool area of the apartments is excellent. We just love the quietness and cleanliness outside

It’s close to the rubicon Marion’s. 15 min walk and the hotel operates a shuttle bus 3 times a day to Playa Blanca centre

Taxi from the centre or Marina is under 4€ even late at night

Special commendation to the Head Waiter his patience and friendliness to everyone is such a credit to Hotel. He was there for our last 3 visits

Very good hotel, we went there two years ago. The staff are still pro, friendly and nice, the view from the rooms, facilities etc are very good. However since our last visit, the quality of the food has gone down unfortunately, especially when it comes to the meat section we did see the difference.

Had a lovely 10 days at The Mirador, staff very pleasant and helpful. Room, restaurant, poolside and rest of hotel very clean. Plenty of variety of food for breakfast. Rental car is handy as hotel is other side of town. Hotel does provide curtesy bus 3 times a day to the main beach near town.

We had a very enjoyable stay at THE Mirador Papagayo. From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our sea view room was very comfortable, as was th e ensuite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the sofa was a luxury we did not expect. The huge balcony had amazing views of the Papagayo peninsula. We walked along the coastal foot path to the Marina and also into Playa Blanca.

Breakfast and dinner buffets were both superb. All the food was freshyly prepared and well presented and topped up very regularly. Wine was reasonably priced.

Week in the Sun

This was our second visit here. We choose an apartment as the associated poor area is very very nice. The apartments are spacious but it should be noted that our apartment had minor cosmetic issues. The one we had last year did too. The issues were the kitchen cabinet doors were peeling and the shower facility very tired. We accepted these but it should not be like that.

The resturant was nice and good selection of food. It should be noted that at times certain items offered could have been cooked better. Nothing wrong with the basics. Just not cooked well. Breakfast was pretty good.

Bar prices are good, the hotel operates a good shuttle bus to Playa Blanca and although slightly isolated you can walk to the Rubicon Marina in 20 minutes. If you can’t a taxi is just over €4 each way.

There is an excellent supermarket just up the street. You will need this if not on all inclusive as the Hotel does not sell snacks or Icecream. But issues to those on all inclusive.

We will return, accept the cosmetic issues again because all in all it’s a terrific Hotel

With a little more effort they could make it much better

Weather was really good only a few cloudy days but was still able to sit round the pool every day, rooms were a bit dated but clean compared to the hotel which was really lovely, staff were all really helpful and friendly, food was ok most of the time, New Year’s Eve gala dinner was ok but have had better and entertainment for new year was definitely on a budget but we was with a large group so all made the best of it and had a good night

Amazing stay over Xmas period with my kids

Overall I was Very happy with everything. Travelling alone 2 weeks with my 3 kids (6,8 and 10) I always hope that the kids club and the animation are good! I was not disappointed: the animation team lead by Fran and Gaby put a great show and kept the kids very entertained over Xmas (Father xmas came, treats were being served on Xmas eve, great entertaining show and decors for Xmas) but most of all I'll have to congratulate Angelica, Jessica and Denis for their patience, fun and amazing talent to entertain the kids daily (10;30-13'00 and 3-5pm) with my 3 kids who could not wait to join them (and allowed me to have occasionally a rest:-) What a team....so many ideas...games ...projects to do!Loads of certificates for grab!
They are dynamic, enthusiastic, fun ...simply BRILLIANT : my kids want to go back next year only if they are there....
The food, was great: I am half Spanish, half French and live in England so I am not picky at all and found always several things I liked in the buffet . The buffet served over Xmas was simply beautiful..
You could really see every day how much efforts everyone (including the waiters...) had put into making meals a great experience for every one including kids!

Hotel itself make good impression.
Unfortunately for 4*hotel we would have expected better food, b/fast was ok , but dinet time that's completely different story
1/soft drinks charged on half board even water !!!
2/food choice look as there is a lot of it but for example fish over cooked/dry without seasoning (disappointment as we always looke forward to sea food dishes on holiday). Dessert look all the same ,creamy cakes no much of variety .
3/room safety you can easily get to the room from outside by patio door just need lean over them slightly and they give you access
4/ on second night of our stay my partner got ill/possibly food poisoning or virus/non alcohol drinking person/, when I went to reception to ask if there it's any chance for hot tea I was told they don't provide service like this,after long conversation I was given 2 bottles of cold water/lady working at night shift that day had no compassion to ill hotel guest , luckily for me her co-worker did he direct me to the restaurant saying it was ok to use facilities to made the tea, We finish off calling an ambulance ,after all to get medical support but on our return early hours of the morning we only received unpleasant look from female receptionist.
4/other then this all staff in hotel very nice and friendly, clean rooms &bathrooms /a bit forgetfull about bin liners to put them in, they could do with extra an eye on dusting off the rooms window frame and wardrobe doors

Great hotel in a beautiful location with breath taking coastal views , a bit of a walk to the beach but free bus transfer available throughout the day . staff were amazing ,nothing was too much , food was great ,some of the best I have had in lanzarote . entertainment not great ,but we didn't go for that .We had a relaxing 10 days of quality time with our two young children and this was a good hotel to do that in , top tip we went half board so take a travel kettle cups and tea coffee as this is not supplied .

Lovely hotel and staff. Our room was bottom floor in the family area and was very noisy at night, we could hear the family above walking up and down and moving furniture. Could also hear children crying either side. Have stayed in many family appartments before and never been disturbed as much.

Our week was great and enjoyed our stay at the Mirador. Food was above average for the half board stay but we chose to walk down to Rubicon Marina for most evening meals. Great room (junior suite) with fantastic views over towards Papagayo beach. We missed the late evening ☀️ in room 363 but found the bar balcony a great place to enjoy an evening drink before dinner with friends or just to read a book. The pool area was busy with early towel occupiers but we preferred the nearby beach a short drive away but the hotel did provide bus transfers. Great walks in every direction along this coastal strip. Would definitely consider another stay at the Mirador.

Our Short Valentines break in the Sun

This was booked as a special treat. We arrived for a four night stay and checkin was pleasant and quick. We were upgraded from a standard room to a poolside apartment. The apartment was spacious, a very large bedroom with huge flatscreen tv. A lounge area, fridge and apparment facilities. There was also a large flatscreen tv in the lounge. The bathroom was big. I could say maybe a touch tired looking but we were happy overal taking all into account. The pool area was fantastic, clean and well patrolled by lifeguards. Plenty of sun beds of high quality and nice towels. There was a small bar serving drinks and snacks. Pleas note this was a secondary pool and not the main pool which was also high quality. We had half board ( most had all inclusive). The breakfast was outstanding. The evening meal was well thought out and varied. We ate 3 nights at the hotel and one night in the Marina. The marina Was very up market and about a 20 minute walk. there is an excellent supermarket 5 minutes away. We were a couple but it would suit families or groups of families brilliantly

Convenient hotel with wonderful staff but no WIFI

Convenient hotel, next to lovely clift top walk. Unfortunately there was no WIFI in the room, nor even by paying for the service. The staff were wonderful, always friendly and efficient.

Food was amazing so much choice like on s cruise! Lovely pool area lots to do on site really helpful reception marina within walking distance along promenade and lots of good excursions too

Lovely hotel and wonderful staff

Really enjoyed my weeks stay here. Only negative point I can make is regarding the beds. It was like sleeping on a bed of bricks and my back suffered for it!!
Apart from that I couldn't fault the place.

Good value but a little tired around the edges.

Comfortable stay but general maintenance needs attention. Very stained lampshades, stained carpet in wardrobe area, regrouting desperately needed around bath and floor tiles. It took three days to replace a broken refrigerator and it was left outside its cabinet for our entire stay.

Nice room with a great sea view

A good stay, only marred by difficulty getting a problem with the TV resolved (The only English news programme tuned in was a Nigerian programme which was biassed the Nigerian domestic news. The tuning was locked to prevent guest retuning), in spite of repeated requests to Reception including a demonstation of the problem to one of the Recepton staff who happened to be passing the room. Eventually had to ask to speak to the Manager, and then the problem was resolved immediately with politeness and efficiency. Impressed that the Manager checked with us the next day that all was still OK, and explained that all the TVs had had to be retuned and that, unfortunately, ours had not retuned correctly.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area of playa blanca close

Spotlessly clean, food excellent. Rooms lovely. Pool are clean with plenty of sunbeds.
Only diwnside - poor free wifi in lobby area. Expensive wifi in rooms.

In our experience not a 4 star hotel

Good food & excellent staff. Beds very uncomfortable, air con in bedroom didn't work. They did bring me another mattress after I was sleeping on an inflatable lylo but that was as bad. Not enough sun beds round either pool. Family rooms across the road in a 2 star apartment complex had to go to main hotel for all facilities. Gym opening times made it impossible to use. Not a 4 star hotel

No Air Con, bad wifi

Had the hotel had good air conditioning and if the wifi worked for longer than a few minutes at a time, it probably would have swayed me to a good review.

The staff were excellent, the food was pretty good bearing in mind the amount of people they were catering for, there was always a good choice and most of it pretty well prepared. Also, it was very clean and tidy and our room was very well cleaned every day.

The lack of air conditioning was really hard to deal with. The hotel insists it IS air conditioned, but really, the only cold place you will find is a supermarket down the road. Even the pool is heated, which doesn't refresh you when you want to escape the heat. We struggled to sleep at night.

We paid for the wifi, but got our money back when we realized how weak it was. The signal dropped out all the time.

This hotel isn't suited to singles or young adults. It's a family hotel, and everything is directed towards families and kids. They have an animation team who entertain by the pool every day with pool aerobics and pool basketball, the kids loved it.... we hated it, as it was pounding music, which was so loud it vibrated my sunbed.

Also, we were offered a ground floor room when we arrived, which we declined, as we wanted the security of a higher floor. The ground floor balconies are completely open and people can see directly into your room. Also, with the lack of air con, sleeping with the door closed would have been a nightmare. Luckily, they moved us.

Pleasant Stay

Room 264 was great with amazing view and far far away from the pool where you tend to have squealing children. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was a bit too hard and not that comfortable. That's pretty much the only fault with the room.

The pool was shut down 3-days in a row due to vomiting children whose parents don't have the sense to make them rest and digest after eating before letting them lose. Not the hotels fault at all.

The staff were very nice and helpful. If you do half board then note dinner does NOT include water. That's a cost. Water is basic and essential to life so I think that's a bit stingy when it's free by reception or free for breakfast. Essentially their rule makes no sense.

Fabulous hotel but not enough vegetarian food

A lovely hotel. We paid for a Junior Suite with a sea view and were on the ground floor with a terrace. We had a living room area with sofa and tv as well as a bedroom, bathroom and a walk in closet so we didn't have to live out of our suitcase for a change. The hotel is very clean and all the staff work are friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily and are spotless. It was my birthday whilst we were there and they sent a bottle of sparkling fizz and two glasses to our room that afternoon. Our favourite place in the hotel was the lobby bar, and not just because that is where the free wifi is! At any time of day it is a lovely place to sit and drink (bar opens at 12pm), overlooking the pool and with a view of the sea. We would have a couple of glasses of cava there before going down to dinner and go back afterwards for coffee and amaretto.

We were all inclusive and our favourite meal was breakfast, with white and pink fizz available everyday. There is entertainment every night but we only went once as it takes place in a hot dingy dark room which had children constantly running about, as the kids disco is held there prior to the main entertainment.

Large hotel with very good facilities

The low-rise hotel is built around a central pool complex with a separate annex aimed at families across the street, also with a good pool area. The large dining room provides an ample supply of good food. Staff are helpful and all seems to run efficiently. Beautiful spacious sandy beaches are within a few minutes' walk along the headland. There is a useful local bus service to the main centre of Playa Blanca. The hotel is at the extreme eastern end of the resort with few eating places close by but there are plenty of choices in town and also at the nearby marina. Very high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. Will stay again.

very clean hotel close to the sea front

Very helpful reception staff. We arrived late in the evening and were allowed to go and dine before checking in fully, much appreciated after hours of travelling. When booking, we asked for a room with a partial sea view. Imagine our pleasant surprise to find we had in fact been given a suite, bedroom, changing room, lounge, bathroom and a balcony overlooking the bay. All the staff were very friendly, well presented and extremely helpful.
Everywhere in and around the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy at all times.
We were staying on a half board basis and found the choice, quality and quantity of the food to be excellent.

Great staff, great holidays

Staff was excellent. Restaurant food very nice, lots of fish, never cold, good variety. The only down side was our room. It was in a family complex which is separated by the road from the main hotel so we had to go back to main hotel side for dinner, evening shows or even heated pool etc. Our room had no view or sunshine either. Beds were not very comfortable. But in general the holiday was great and we did enjoy it as much as we could.

Nice hotel good position

Good hotel with some nice pools, one on each side of the road. Our room had a terrace with sea view which had sun all morning till about 14.00. There was a good variety of food with some great salad dishes and fresh grilled meats and fish. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is starting to show signs of wear and tear but is still kept in good condition. While we were there the island suffered from cold northerly trade winds which didn't distract from our holiday but did mean that our room was a bit chilly and the air-conditioning did not have a heating setting which I thought was a bit strange seeing that cold winds are not that unusual. Both my wife and I would revist this hotel again without hesitation.

Nice Stay

Similar quality to other 4 stars hotels near Play Dorada. Good food and variety, big rooms, good entertainment. 4 minutes walk to a kind of pebble beach and 25 minutes walk to Playa Dorada. Difference in price from other 4 stars near Playa Dorada pays for car rental and much more. Dinner hall open with snacks for late arrivals! I'll come back.

Last minute family holiday

We stayed in a junior suite with a sea view. Amazing room. We had to move rooms though because there was no separate sleeping room with a door. We moved to a family apartment which had a separate bedroom and was a good size for a family of four.
The children loved the mini disco and Matti and Paulina in the kids club. Pool was cold at this time of year ( march) but the children still braved it. Lots on offer in the restaurant.

Quick short notice break

Hotel was good.a little tired around the edges. Nice atmosphere.Restaurant staff amazing. Quite a few children but in general all well behaved.buffet food was well presented and changed regularly. Always looked appetising.

A good hotel catering for a wide age group.Definitely the best location in the area especially for walkers. We were on half board, excellent range of dishes in the restaurant, which constantly changed so we never ate out in the resort. Entertainment needs upgrading stuck in a time warp but otherwise no complaints

Nice quiet hotel with good facilities

We just spent a week with 3 children aged 6,8 & 10 and the mother in law (age 77!). She booked with Saga and the hotel was perfect for her. Facilities are good with plenty of space around 2 pools, large restaurant and numerous bars. We had a family room which has a little kitchenette, large living space where the children slept and a spacious bedroom for us. Decor was a tad tired, but didn't impede our experience at all. Food was varied and drinks were also good. We enjoyed using the tennis court which was a very reasonable 6 euros an hour to rent.
