Welcome to ArkaBarka.
I stayed at ArkaBarka for 6 nights. The people were really friendly, and the breakfast was surprisingly good — a nice way to start the day. However, the rooms were quite small, which made things feel a bit cramped. Overall, it’s a decent place with a social vibe, but be aware of the limited space.

We like the position of the hostel directly on the river, the view toward Kalemegdan and the green view toward the big war island, the breakfast, the staff, the hostel architecture, everything was nice, the apartment on the ground floor in glass and the lock. I would like to come back again.

We were landing in Belgrade at 5am so I made the reservation the night before so we can check in when we arrived at our hotel around 6am and sleep until checkout at 11am. I messaged the hotel that night to let them know we’d be arriving at the hotel around 6am to sleep only a few hours after a night flight. We get to the hotel at 6:30am but reception didn’t open until 8am. We were so tired and sleep deprived we walked over next door and their reception was open and they had rooms Available so we ended up staying there a few hours instead. I paid ArkaBarka $65 for nothing and then still paid $55 next door to sleep only 3 hours if that! Ugh

Amazing Hotel, Not easies Location, Cash Only
It is an amazing place with incredible views and great team working there. The shortcommings are: it is a 10 minutes walking distance from the parking area and there is no service to assist with luggage - should improve because we were walking with kids in the pooring rain. The surprise was at the check out - I booked pay at the hotel option - they accept only cash - no credit card (still cannot believe) and Hotel.com was useless in assisting. The problem is there is no ATM close by.....and I had to pay for two rooms and four days...that event turned me off and therefore would not recommend the stay at Arka. Also, I would recommend staying in downtown considering transportation to/from. Again, candy box on the Danube with cash based business model.

Your cab will drop you off on the other side of a park that you have to cross to get to the hotel. The views at the hotel are amazing and the staff is so friendly. The part I didn’t like was the wooden floorboards in the shower were wobbly and could also be heard throughout the hotel. I liked the hotel for the overall experience though

The location right on the Danube is incredibly charming and the staff were very pleasant, however the accommodations for a family were cramped in comparison to a typical hotel room and the room was damp, to the point of the bedding being moist all night long and my book pages wrinkled. Probably fine for the hostel it is meant to be, but for the price of an \"apartment room\" a family would be much more comfortable and less damp in a hotel room or apartment on land.

My room was upgraded for free which was kind of them, but the AC only worked as a fan, not a cooler, and overlooked the entrance walkway, which was noisy when people arrive at 5am, and many people not respecting normal sleep times by being quiet when returning from a night out.
The common room was large and comfortable and overlooked the water. Bikes available for use, but I didn't partake as I was happy walking everywhere. Close to newly opened Museum of Contemporary Arts. The New Belgrade area has a very relaxed, open feel compared to Belgrade proper and was a great start to my visit in Serbia.

Unique place with nice views on the river. However our room was pretty run down, the bathroom smelled very badly and the whole room was unclean. Also even with A/C it was very humid in the room, so much that even the bed was damp. Employees were very friendly and helpful. And it was nice to get a free breakfast.

We had two rooms. The one on the lower deck was very humid, Air con hardly working, door lock not working properly, morning buffet with cheese and ham standing in 30 degrees C for hours but worst thing was the smell of the river in the room. There was an Air freshener in the room that was frequently used to cover up for the smell.

Il cambio biancheria non avviene automaticamente ma in qualunque momento puoi chiedere asciugamani puliti; non c’è pulizia e rifacimento dei letti giornalieri, ci hanno spiegato che lo stesso avviene solo tra un ospite e l’altro! Quindi nel nostro soggiorno settimanale non è mai stato rifatto il letto e gli asciugamani sono stati cambiati solo su richiesta
Il clima dell’ ostello è comunque molto familiare e ci si sente a casa. La fermata dell’autobus (che ti porta in città vecchia) è molto vicina, basta attraversare il bellissimo parco che costeggia il Danubio
Unica nota dolente è la colazione:caffè americano (espresso e cappuccino a pagamento), solo pane bianco o fritto con uovo, uova sode; fette di formaggio; würstel; cereali e latte; mele; maionese e ketchup; insalata di pomodori e cetrioli; salse varie tra cui nutella (?) e confettura di albicocche!
Dopo qualche giorno ci siamo comunque abituati 😅

Decepcionante. Anuncio engañoso en dónde se indica que dispone de parking, pero en realidad está a 700 metros y es en la calle (bajo la amenaza de sufrir desperfectos si no tiene matrícula serbia). Igualmente, error al asignar la habitación, lo cual fue comunicado horas después de instarlarnos.

Hostellet havde en fin beliggenhed til byen hvis man ikke er bange for at gå lidt ekstra, det var rent og sen indtjekning på kode til døren fungerede perfekt! Vi ankom sent om aftenen hvor receptionen var lukket, men det gik rigtig fint at tjekke ind selv.
Med service havde vi delte oplevelser. Før ankomst var vi i kontakt med hostellet ang. bestilling af taxa, og de var hjælpsomme og satte os i kontakt med en taxachauffør, som endte med at hente os. Da vi skulle hjem igen var det også sent om natten, og da vi ønskede hjælp til at bestille en taxa igen, blev vi mødt af en ligeglad medarbejder som sagde at “det måtte vi bestille selv.”
Så ja, lidt forskellige oplevelser, men alt i alt et cool sted, hvor jeg gerne havde boet igen!
Hostellet havde en fin beliggenhed til byen hvis man ikke er bange for at gå lidt ekstra, det var rent og sen indtjekning på kode til døren fungerede perfekt! Vi ankom sent om aftenen hvor receptionen var lukket, men det gik rigtig fint at tjekke ind selv.
Med service havde vi delte oplevelser. Før ankomst var vi i kontakt med hostellet ang. bestilling af taxa, og de var hjælpsomme og satte os i kontakt med en taxachauffør, som endte med at hente os. Da vi skulle hjem igen var det også sent om natten, og da vi ønskede hjælp til at bestille en taxa igen, blev vi mødt af en ligeglad medarbejder som sagde at “det måtte vi bestille selv.”
Så ja, lidt forskellige oplevelser, men alt i alt et cool sted, hvor jeg gerne havde boet igen!

Bonne adresse pour séjour au bord de l’eau (bras Danube), agréable 2* avec balcon sur le fleuve. Confort spartiate mais de bon niveau. Le personnel est vraiment sympa et l’ensemble est plus que satisfaisant!
Les suites sont assez grandes pour loger 2, la SdB: simple rideau de douche qui inonde tout l’ensemble, mais ok pour les vacances.

It's by the river, really like the concept. Its cool. Unfortunately a lot of mosqitoes at night. The ceiling was leaking water, but we let them know and the next day they gave us the apartment of the boss. That was much better so we were really happy with that.

Cool place to stay on danube river
the hostel located on the danube river which is cool and it has a nice view. the staff were helpful, the room and hostel were clean, the breakfast is good comparision with the price. The location might be far for those who want to explore old city but there is bus stop close by and it takes you to the city with in 10 mins. Overall it was a good staying..and not many people at the hostel i was lucky in that way..

A wonderful hostal on the river. This is the first time I stayed in a place like this. The staff is great and very kind, ready to help in case you need it. Rooms are nice decorated with surrealist painting. I had a perfect morning with sun, river, birds by my window. The restaurant is perfect and they a very good free breakfast if you spend the night here. Amazing hostel, I loved it.
