Out of the nine hotels I have stayed in Ibiza, this is 2nd to worst. May as well have stayed in the worst, for a better location. Feels like a low budget college dorm room. Pool area was unacceptable. Hard to sleep, so much noise at all hours. Hard to get hot water. Absolutely basic over all. Room also had ants everywhere, but that would be tolerable if we had hot showers. The room was a decent size, and they offered late check out for $40 euro, the only two positives. Will not return.

Great short break in Ibiza town.

Location is excellent, 10 min walk into Ibiza new/old town and Dalt Vila, although steep hill to walk. 5min walk to Figueretes Beach and 25/30 min walk to Bora Bora beach. Loads of places to eat within a few minutes walk. Apartment was basic but very clean, room was cleaned every other day with fresh towels. Only thing I would ask for in room would be a cafetiere or stove top coffee maker to make a decent coffee on a morning. As we like to have a breakfast and coffee sitting on balcony on a morning, although they do have a machine in reception. Staff very friendly and helpful with good English (I know my Spanish should be better). Taxis available within minutes when ordered from reception desk.

Location great but basic accommodation - you get what you pay for.
Messaged in advance about parking options but no response. Used a manned car park nearby and within a day the car was severely vandalised. Definitely recommend speaking to reception about other parking options.
Room was basic -rotting banana in fridge, no duvet covers. Not especially soundproof.
Having said that, for what we paid it's in line with other places I've stayed in Ibiza.
Good size bedroom and living space. 20 minutes walk into Ibiza Town. Sea view room. Simple kitchen. Staff very attentive- especially with the vandalised car situation.

Very clean, and safe. It is walkable to a beach and some nice restaurants, a little convenient store. However you will need to taxi to any night clubs and bars and Salinas for the nicer beach clubs. Would recommend for families or those looking for a relaxing vacation

Great value accommodation in good location

Nice studio apartment in Lux Mar complex. Exceptionally clean, with beds made up each day and 2 towel changes in only a 4 day stay. Couldn't get a late checkout, but hotel offers a shower and changing facility and even clean towels to use - excellent service! Well situated at the quiet end of the resort, just minutes from the beach, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Could even walk into the Old Town in about 20 mins (bit steep and unpaved in parts, for people with limited mobility. Very nice stay.

Very pleasant experience, we came here to leave our very bad experience at a different hotel and it’s fair to say it completely flip turned our trip turning it from a disaster to a very nice family trip. Staff were very helpful I asked about the tourism charge as we were overcharged at our past hotel and they kindly explained to me the charges. We booked the hotel for the pool for the kids after being told on WhatsApp it was open, unfortunately the pool was closed I went to reception to ask about this as it was important to us and they went above and beyond to get us this facility. They rang their partner hotel about 45 minute walk away and asked if we could use their facitility they agreed. The hotel offered to pay our taxi to and from the facilities so we didn’t need to walk all the way, I can’t thank them enough for this. It’s fair to say they went above and beyond to satisfy their customers and didn’t make it seem like any hassle to them. 5* service

The service in this hotel was great but the beds were exceptionally uncomfortable- most people seem to stay here for a couple of nights and were clubbers- we were there for 2 weeks and and would not recommend a stay for that long here mainly due to the small balconies and the fact that the beds were so uncomfortable.

Walls are very thin so you will need to whisper or otherwise get a noise complaint. The property managers enforced curfews that we were otherwise not aware of until security came to our door and the staff were relentless.

Great area to stay in! Close to old town and play den bossa without being noisy! Nice views of the ocean also :). The one bedroom room is a good size for 3 people. Really good black out curtains for sleeping and air con. This is the second year I have stayed here at Lux Mar.

We arrived late and our booking had been messed up by hotels.com, I had tried to redeem my night as it would expire that weekend. I clicked on the \"Redeem night\" button in the app. I booked a room with a sea view on a deal, but it was excluded from the rewards program but with little obvious sign than a footnote.
Adding to the confusion, there are a few hotels that share the same reception, and then I discover the sea view is not on the booking. The room I get has a side sea view, and actually it was a nice view with the morning sun.
They also gave us a bottle of Fizz as apology.
We went to bed a bit grumpy, after an amazing meal in a local restaurant with friends who live nearby.
We woke with the sun and a fabulous side sea view, so instead of booking a new place for our final three nights in some quirky places as we'd intended. Dirk arranged for a better room for new booking.
Dirk was very helpful throughout the whole process.

I got charge doble, I pay in cash and the hotel charge my credit card to making me have all kinds of problems, the hotel say they will return the charge to my card inmidiatly, well the did after 4 days. The worst experience ever!!! I advise you to do not book this hotel.

Excellent sea view from the terrace attached to the room in 5th floor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast in the morning.

However, TV could have had some English channels to view. The mattresses are a bit hard. There is no microwave, electric kettle or toaster in the kitchenette.

The studio was very spacious, although without the sofa as pictured. Breakfast had a nice selection. I feel this hotel could improve dramatically with new televisions, new shower heads, better wifi and offer some bottled water in the room. The wifi requires you to enter your details and fill a short questionnaire every time you connect, and it seemed to disconnect every 15 minutes. Definitely not useful if you plan to be doing some work with wifi. The beds were ok but not the comfiest. The second floor has an odd layout with all the balconies backing on to an empty terrace. The location is good if you want something quiet although I feel it is a bit out of the way to enjoy the buzz of Ibiza. Overall not bad, considering the price and the space, but I would spend a little bit more to stay more central.

This hotel is worn out and disgusting.

Room looks like it's from 1920 and had not been updated. Gross shower with no water pressure. Bed is 2 singles pushed together and is hard as a rock with flat pillows. One person working at the front desk trying to serve 30 people. Staff is rude. Hallways are dark and dingy. Doesn't feel safe, or clean. Don't recommend at all.

Good value, ocean views, roomy, good breakfast!

Stayed with 2 friends. It was a good size for the 3 of use with a big balcony looking onto the ocean. We made sure we had the breakfast each day, it had good variety. Worth including for the price. Location was convenient for walking to the Old town or ibiza town. The walk is lovely by the ocean. I would stay here again. Only fault was the pillows were a bit hard.

Good choice, best of both worlds - town and sea.

Easy to find from airport bus - essentially get off the stop after the Lidl/MacDonalds roundabout, head for the sea and walk around the prom - less than 10 mins. Part of a complex of 3 all owned by Playasol Group - so also the the Jardin de Mar, Panoramic. Booking on line I had paid extra for the Lux Mar believing it 'better' and queried this at the desk ...... we had paid for a one bed apt with sea view and terrace and were given just that with the most sublime view and 2 terraces (maybe to make sure I was happy?). Suspect a sea view balcony room at the Panoramic would have been fine - just smaller. We had paid for breakfast but anyone could buy that for 7 Euro (good hot/cold buffet for the money) Panoramic back rooms overlook the pool - and would be shady, 'Jardin' is behind the Panoramic. It was a brilliant base to walk into the old town or to enjoy the beach/relaxing/swimming. Staff helpful

Found the hotel to be just as expected from the booking website description. Great value. Rooms simple but spacious and clean with small balcony. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nice buffet breakfast. Hotel has a nice outlook over the sea. A short 15 minute walk into Ibiza town. A very short walk to neighbouring bars/restaurants and beach. We visited in April so area was not too busy however plenty of people around to give a nice atmosphere unlike nearby Playa d'en Bossa which was still pretty deserted though preparing for the season ahead.
We were here for a short break and thought this location was perfect. It was like a city and beach combined break.

Very Cheap and I expected the worst but...

We paid about £28 for nine nights from 14th to 23rd October which was a pretty good price really and I did not expect much, in fact I was expecting the hotel to be pretty poor.

What can I say? All I can say is that both my wife and I were really impressed. Room was very clean with fresh clean towels every day. Bed was okay and sleepable. Air Conditioning was basic but worked fine. Wifi (nearly spelt wife!) just like any wifi really, good when it is good and poor when it is poor, but for us it worked well for most of the time. I'm NOT on holiday to surf Internets all I wanted was emails and to check on my ebay listings, and to get my whatsapps to check on the kids back home, and we got this okay.

The site of the hotel is ideal. Easy distance to walk from bus stop, number 10 from airport 3.50 euros, get off first stop after McDonalds/Lidl roundabout and head toward the sea. Do your google maps homework first though and you'll be fine.

Easy and pleasant walking ten mins to local beach with bars and restaurants etc. Do go to the Cube cocktail bar as it is excellent for meals with free wifi.

Best part was the staff, like with anyone, if you treat them kindly then they will do likewise. We have nothing but high reccomendations for the reception staff, Maria and the Polish girl Natelie both whom had happy smiling faces and were more than willing to help us. Top marks!

Would we go again? YES certainly, even though it was cheap and very basic. It served our needs well You'd never find anything like this in 'rip off Britain.

We had a pleasant stay here. The safety deposit box in the room was not working but were told it would be fixed the next day when it still hadn't been fixed after a couple of days we stopped inquiring and just put our passport/money in the bed table drawers and it was ok so felt like a safe hotel. It's very basic but then again if you are out and about most if the time it doesn't matter. No frills no fuss and we did have a great sea view from our little balcony :-)

2 minute walk to the beach. Tons of restaurants, shops, markets nearby. Great spot for snorkeling only a 5 minute walk away with a cave/arch to swim through. Pacha is 10 euro cab ride away. 30 min bus ride to port of San Antonio. 10 min walk to boat that takes you to illetes beach. The room was a good size. Basically a 1 bedroom apartment. The room certainly served its purpose. Only real negative was you had to go to the lobby to use wifi.

I think the best way of approaching Lux Mar is with an open mind. You've likely paid less than £30 a night and given the location and size of the rooms I'd say it was a bargain. Ok, so the rooms are not as modern and up to date as I'd like but given how much I was saving and how little time I spent in the rooms, I'd recommend this place to those on a tight budget. It does the job perfectly well for somewhere to crash at night after a day at the beach before heading to the local bars and restaurants. We opted for Half Board, breakfast was great and the evening meal was more than adequate. Only downside was the condition of the bath (it was rusted) and a non-functioning cooker. Other than that, great value and perfect location. Ask for a sea view if you can, it's worth it for the view across the bay.

Great Low Budget Hotel

The room was not spectacular, but it was clean and comfortable enough for a week long stay. It was conveniently located close to everything we wanted, and could walk everywhere (the town center was very close). The staff was friendly and spoke English. The hotel itself is very international, and the clientele also friendly. If you are traveling to Ibiza on a smaller budget and do not want to pay for a Four Seasons type hotel, this is the place to stay...you will not be dissapointed.

Not your usual choice in terms of destination but boy did Lux Mar deliver! Great rooms (great meaning not horrible), great facilities (great meaning decent), lovely guests (lovely meaning fit birds) and great location (meaning BRILLIANT location)! Playa De'n Bossa is literally 2 mins in a cab (€8 roughly) but you can walk it in 10-15 minutes. Simple! Will definitely stay here again when we come back as SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Does what it says on the tin

Actually not too bad for a 2 star hotel. We only stayed 1 night after a holiday in Formentera. We needed something cheap and close to the airport. This area of Ibiza really isn't too nice - the view is but it's targeted at the lower end of the market. Walking to the hotel can be a bit of a struggle having to get over a big hill, but it's close enough to the old town for shopping & dinners. Don't plan to eat close to the hotel.. The hotel was surprisingly quiet, we had a 2nd floor room above the main pool. There were a few white pointers to marvel at and the sound of the water was calming. The single beds were are bit worn, and the room's decor is tired. Though for a 2-star place it was actually quite a good stay.

Great location - the ocean is across the street. Parking lot a block away. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Free wifi only in lobby and didn't work all the time. Very adequate for a break near the sea!

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Staff were helpful, friendly and efficient.
Rooms clean.
Possibly some updating would freshen up the hotel a little.
Food delicious.
I found it difficult to make a cup of tea without a kettle but perhaps this is life in Ibiza? The hotplates took ages to warm up.

We were given a room without natural light and fresh air as the only window it had opened on to an internal courtyard. The room smelled smoky and stale. The bed linen smelled of smoke. The tiled floor was inexplicably sticky. Under the table was a pile of dirt, hair and lint. There was no remote for the TV.

I'm sure there are decent rooms in this hotel complex with great sea views or views onto the pool but I can only comment on the horror that I experienced. I was delighted to check out the next day. The hotel should never put any guests in this room.

If you want a pool - it's not for you.

Great hotel at a cheap price. Very clean and the views are amazing! The walls are a little thin. I could hear people speaking in the next room but luckily they weren't loud at night. It's a pretty decent location. Close to the beach and central to shopping. Internet access was expensive though; 1 Euro for 15 minutes!

location good hotel basic

It was fine for what we needed except the room we were given was a smoking room, when we booked non smoking, the room itself was ok but smoke came in from neighbours who were smoking. There's no sound proofing so it will be very very noisy come high season. The receptionist was very surly-woe betide you if you haven't printed off your booking reservation! The location is good, short walk to everything you'd need. Apartments were basic but clean, doubt you go to Ibiza to hang out in your room tho!

Good luck finding wifi unless you want to pay and use it at a community computer. A guy working there behind the counter told me to go down the street to a cafe to use theirs. They don't seem to interested in helping you accomplish anything that doesn't involve booking a room.

Near to a NICE beach and friendly hotel staff

The hotel was in a good location. There are many (good) restaurants and shops and grocery stores around. We can walk to a nice popular beach where the people were really friendly.

Concierge was good. The hotel staff were glad to tell me about the parties that were happening, the info on night buses and to call for us taxis.

We took taxis many times because Ibiza is really so small, so it is not expensive to take a cab everywhere.

Room was clean and HUGE! We paid so little for such great value :) There was even a fully equipped kitchen!

Only thing is the corridors outside the room are ran on power saving lights, so we had to press a button to keep the lights on. Before we find the switch it is a bit scary (we were girls).

But overall, i'd want to be back again!!

Very roomy!

Got the sea view room which was apparently the quiet side. This hotel has a couple buildings and the ones with the sea view apparently were much quieter. Traveled with a few friends and they raved how much less noise there was. The view was amazing! Big cooking area but wont supply soap. The hotel only washes your dishes once you checkout which was a huge setback. Typically if you get a studio the hotel would give soap upon request. Not here. Staff was pretty friendly and informative. After midnight they ask that people keep it down for other guest. About 20 Euro from privilege. Not far from the port which has awesome gift shops during the day and only about a 20-30 min walk. Castle close along with many beaches. Air conditioned! Hate that you had to pay for wi fi by the hour. Restaurants very close that offer free wi fi if you eat there.

It was a great hotel for the price. Lots of party people there and does include a bar. If you book thru other peoples sites, you can get the free breakfast included. I suggest it. Minute walk from almost anywhere and they will call taxis for u when in need. They show up at decent times. Overall we had a great experience!

We are an irish couple touching 30 who like big nights out as much as our down time in a relaxed enviroment and we got it all here. We went for the sea view which was amazing. The studio apartment was well laid out with all facilities required (iron, hairdryer, kitchen). We arrived mid june which may be quiter than later in the summer but it was a quietish block. We were asked by staff to turn the music down after one night out. The residents were a good mix of nationalities. It was good not to be surrounded by irish and english. The location was perfect as you are practically in the town but it doesn't feel like it at all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was generally well impressed.

too many things went wrong

I stayed here before, but i don't think i'll stay there again. The hotel is in pretty good location and relatively cheap, so last time i stayed there i overlooked all the deficiencies. This time, there was no electricity for half a day, no hot water for about 30 hours. the cleaning crew don't refill soaps/shampoos and the clean towels looked dirty. The tv remote didn't work and i had to explicitly request the remote for air-conditioner. The staff is relatively friendly, and the room was ok to sleep over night (except for the huge roach that visited my pillow the last day) but i'll try to avoid this hotel next time.

Lux-Mar did not dissappoint!

I was looking for a hotel within budget and cleanliness was a must. The location is a bit off the track but not far from the big party clubs, two food markets a walk down and shopping in ibiza town. The closest bus stop was a good five minute walk. The staff was nice and the rooms clean. There is a sink, stove and good size fridge in the room so we were able to save money on eating out. If you need internet, they have two computers in the lobby to use. If I come back to Ibiza, I would stay here again.

Great base to stay for Ibiza

Great base to stay in Ibiza, very good location, clean secure and well manitained.

Walls are a bit thin so you can hear noise from corridors and next rooms but this is the only issue.

Friendly, helpful reception, rooms a great size and well fitted for price, close to bars and restuarants but not in a noisy part of time

Highly recpmmended

Avoid if you value hygiene

I can not believe that a hotel with such a great view has been allowed to be run down to such a dire condition. Sand on the fridge, no clean pots, no working lift... And they were the highlights! Will not be rushing back. Even the rats have left of their own accord! Oh, sorry, nice sea view!

Ibiza- good bargain, excellent location, no frills

We were going on a girls trip to Ibiza and we knew that this was going to be a very basic holiday. We purposefully did not stay at a luxury hotel as we were going to be going to clubs and just going to the beach. It served everything we needed; however I will say that the three person room they put us in in the main building was not as nice as our friends had in the building next door \"tropical gardens.\"

The hotel is quite noisy. The room service is also quite bad. They remove the towels and don´t replace them. You have alwyas to request the reception for towels. Also they do not clean the small kitchen available in the apt

Clean, affordable hotel with a nice pool

The hotel is very nice, especially considering the rates per night. Ibiza is a party town, some guests just dont understand that. They come and harass other guests to be quite. My suggestion is to bring earplugs or go somewhere more tuned to older people. A/C worked very well.

Really pleased, excellent little hotel

The Hotel allowed us to check in early when we got there which was really good of them as it was 10am. Our room exactlly fit the bill as for what we needed with a basic kitchen which had everything we needed. The pool was very clean and as we weren't in peak season the pool and hotel was very quiet.

Figuretes is very nice with good restuarnts but the beach is not the best. A cab to the clubs is cheap and the main town is in walking distance. Had an excellent time!

A great cheap hotel but cheap is the word.

The hotel was nice, a few minor problems such as: a bloody towel in our bathroom, we had to wait a whole day for a new light bulb in the living room (so once it drew night time it was quite tricky to get ready in the dark) and the toilet would barely flush. We had booked for 4 people but they only gave us enough pillows and kitchen utensils for 3. No light switch at the bottom of the stairs so we had to drunkenly crawl up the stairs in the dark till we could reach a light switch on the second floor. Hotel was situated in a ok area, alhough it was before season everything was shut and looked like a shanty town. Looking out on the sea was beautiful and the beach was less than a few minutes walk away, the local supermarket and shops were a short 10minute walk and the nearest club is Pacha which is a 20minute walk. Hotel staff were lovely apart from one man who was really moody, he was helpful but you could tell he couldn't be bothered and didn't enjoy his job! We didn't use the swimming pool, it's tiny but big enough if there's noone else around! Overall the hotel was pretty clean and tidy, would recommend if you're getting a cheap deal, wouldn't spend a fortune on the hotel though.
