The hotel is old and decrepit … the rooms are old, beds uncomfortable and the gardens are not attended to. The breakfasts are awful, with canned fruits and scrambled eggs that can bounce off the floor… bacon is overcooked … it’s a mess… and the hotel is run-down

Read a lot of views about rude staff and this was not the case. I feel that staff are being rude to and that when you are respectful you are treated accordingly. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready even by 2pm but by 2.30pm we was assigned another room that was bigger due to the wait. Cleaning staff and reception staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit dated but clean a few things need doing such as a stiff shower door or a little bit of a leak from the air con but no major issues. In good location and wasn’t too loud considering it’s a busy area. Bus route to the main areas and airport was only 2-3euro only issue is the tv, small and not smart so couldn’t log into our Netflix and channels are mainly news or in German and no kettle in room with tea or coffee, can get one and a iron from reception for a deposit which you will get back when you return them.

I stayed at this hotel from the 8th September to 17th September 2025 with my sister. We didn’t realise it was going to be on the busy strip, however that didn’t bother us as we was there for an event. I really liked the area, as we was local to the shopping centre and local restaurants. We also got to explore the area and we felt really safe during our trip. I really like our hotel, our room was spacious. It had enough space for all our belongings and only critique I would have is there was no mini fridge which I do like to have in my hotel room when I’m travelling. In some parts of the hotel, it could be refurbished and redecorated however, overall it’s a really decent hotel for the price we paid, I would recommend this hotel only if you are going to an event as there isn’t much facilities in the hotel for you to do.

You pay for what you get, cheaper so expect bare minimum. The managers of the hotel were nice and helpful.

This is a very noisy hotel. We initially had a room right at the front of the hotel. It feels like you are sleeping on the street, the noise comes straight in. You hear the road and the music. That night we didn’t get any sleep.
We thankfully were moved to the back of the hotel which was much better but you do have groups of people coming back at all hours. Got woken up every night at least twice due to the walls being thin.

This hotel is right in the party district, wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing environment.

The rooms them selves were fine, beds comfy, clean. The bathrooms do have mould and there is a bit of drain smell.

The pool is also fine, standard but can get busy. The beach is nice and a close walk. Lots of restaurants around.

If you are looking for cheaper party accommodation this is the place but if you want a family holiday / calmer holiday, not the location.

Really basic standards. Not the cleanest hotel. The walls need replastering and painting. The wardrobe was broken and it was not secured to the wall so everytime we opened the doors the entire wardrobe tipped forward to fall over. No safe inside the room or tea/coffee facilities.

The premises were unsafe, with visible drug activity and loitering on the property. There were ongoing disturbances from other guests (screaming and banging), which staff did nothing to control, despite being notified. The bed had a plywood base, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. These conditions are unacceptable and fall far below the standard promised and reasonably expected. I ask for a full refund due to these breaches of safety, comfort, and service.

The worst Hotel I ever stay at!

Room was very basic. No kettle or cups/ glasses, no TV, dribble of shower, no shelving in bathroom, no hot water first night. Think a basic club 18-30 hostel.

Room opposite all the bars playing very loud music till 4am. Then it's partied on the beach till 6am. Our earplugs have been a godsend.

Breakfast - Was embarrassingly bad. Just eat elsewhere.
Staff were okay, beer was nice as were snacks in bar area.

Staff are brilliant and helpful! I have stayed here many times and personally I like it, I met other guests who did not. You have to take into account the price and the location, it’s located by the Bars and Clubs so if you are in Malta for the Nightlife then it’s a good choice! There is a bus stop near by to go to Sliema and Valletta. It has a pool. There is No Lift in the part that has a sea view and unfortunately there is no gym and I like to lift some hand weights. It’s nice that they have an outdoor hotel bar

I like the hotel location it was close to shops, transport and beach. I didn’t like the noise from bars and clubs. The first room we were issued had hardly any water flow and it was cold water. The boiler had lose wires and it looked unsafe. The second room had blood stained bedsheet on the bed and the daytime staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. He had a bad attitude.

where do i start. first of I just want to say that the people working there were very kind and understanding and this review is not a reflection onto them. the hotel is rough, the beds are ok, not the mos comfortable but fine considering the price. don’t bother asking for a second pillow, they only have the small pillow inserts without pillow cases. secondly, the shower in our bedroom causes so much water leakage (they did provide extra towels) but its unreasonable. also the water feels cold fast so heads up. in another room we noticed mold on the walls covered by paint (see picture)

The only thing that was good about this hotel was the location.

The photos are not accurate. They seem veryyy out dated. The people at the front desk were rude during our entire stay.

The facilities were very underwhelming. The water pressure was bad, the floors were sticky, they only give you one towel and no wash cloths which was surprising.

Also, when we requested a refund they refused though we had many valid reasons for asking.

The wifi was terrible ! Not to mention we saw a cockroach inside the hotel too.

If I could give our stay negative stars, I would. Definitely not worth the money.

The view from the room was amazing in the city centre
The location was based in the city centre easy to get too and loads of shopping and food places nearby
Only there isn’t any parking very close you would have to park 5-10 minutes walk away

Dirty diaper found in room/bathroom upon our arrival. Towels were changed daily and rooms are spacious which was nice. Neighboring guests woke us up daily screaming and playing music in the hallway all night long. Was not addressed by hotel staff until myself and several others called front desk more than once on the same night when noise was extremely loud from 4 am to 5:30 am when i was told the police were called.

Honestly the worst hotel I have ever been it, but that's probably why it is so cheap. It's at least 50 years old.
I have bed bug bites on my legs and hand. Disgusting.
I won 3820 Euros at the casino beside the hotel and I had left the cash inside the Hotel for few hours and it disappeared.
The worst hotel possible.

The location is right in the middle of everything which is a plus and a negative. The room was in need of repairs nothing worked. The AC was stuck on 21 half the plug sockets did not work the door appeared very week and I believe a good pull would open the door when it was locked.

Firstly the room was absolutely freezing! To the point we woke up shivering on the first night, had the heater on constant to try and warm up the room to no avail.
The TV remote didnt work so when i finally figured out the buttons on the side of the TV, nothing was tuned in.
The shower was disgusting and had hair in it which clearly hadnt been cleaned and the base of the shower was cracked and just looked awful. The hot water spat out of the taps and showers when it decided to work. We saw the same dirty stains on the stairs for days, clearly staff here have never heard of a mop! The surroundings are dirty and miserable, theres even a section you walk past to get to the bar that has about 100 empty water bottles just thrown behind a glass door, very unsightly.
The only positive was i asked for a sea view room and did get a sea view room and the reception area is nice. Unlike the receptionist who checked us in, very unhelpful, didnt even realise we had paid for breakfast, no helpful information passed across, didnt even know what time check out was! It ended up being so bad and cold in the room we looked at other hotels in the area to pay extra for.

Reading the reviews I wondered what I had booked but it was fine check in was quick room was clean it's on the sea front open water bar and bistro next door. The building was poor, no fire notices or regulations visible, poor up keep of walk ways, in the bar/restaurant areas, scrap window/door frame left out in walk way, plus broken wooden bench, mold in bathroom, cigarette buts not swept up. Basically overall looking tired and unkempt, pool steps very slippery, and being used by others from other hotels .

This is not a hotel it’s a hostal ! Yes it’s cheap but it’s also VERY VERY poor. There is damp, plaster calling off walls, we had a leaking toilet which flooded the bathroom with bad water, aircon was stuck on full, the pool doesn’t open until 10, our sea view room was of trees and the back of a building in significantly bad condition. The first room wasn’t even cleaned from the previous guests. The staff were helpful - we booked for 3 nights but only stayed for one. Breakfast room was old and not clean - food below average. The manager knows of all of the issues but doesn’t appear to care. Highly recommend you stay elsewhere - it’s not 3star and the manager and staff know this !

Dirty socks in the room from the people before, didn’t get any help with my suitcase, the breakfast didn’t have a variation of food. The AC was broken, the first night incredibly hot, the last two nights freezing cold and couldn’t be turned off. The stuff didn’t really care. The shower was broken too..

Mould on the walls in the room. Infested flies in the room. Lamp in room was falling off the wall. Leaving electrics exposed. We opened the curtain and there were wires hanging down exposed. Hotel cleaner with blondish hair was rude. We stayed for 15 minutes before checking out.

Awfull cleaning . The staff is not nice, never smile and don't even take their eyes of the computer when you walk in . Very old and dirty . Breakfast is not good and the tables are always sticky and dirty .
The music from the near-by night club is crazy loud until 4 am in the morning.

Lack of tea and coffee was not readily available in the room. Also no glasses provided. Wifi did not work consistently. Reception staff in the evenings who check me in was not very friendly and did not appear bothered about greeting new guests with any kind of smile or decent welcome. TV reception quality was very poor.

Breakfast was fine. Good location with lots of shops and restaurants close by. Access to buses is close by too.

The hotel had dead cockroaches on the floor. The staff at the restaurant gave us plastic forks. We booked half-board and they didn't know our food is included in the price and we asked for the paid menu 3 times each time before they brought it.
Noone ever cleans the rooms or the restaurants.
There was no milk in the coffee machine too.
I only liked the location and the pool.

Did the job!

Mould in room next to fan and rusty boiler that smelt funny when shower ran. Mould sorted ASAP by cleaners. Beds fine, bit rickety but we’re okay. Don’t book for families as it is right on the strip- great for us, not so great for people who like sleep or with small children. Pool is BEAUTIFUL and the restaurant is lovely, quality and cheap! Staff were a good laugh and helpful. Overall, a functional hotel that served the needs of a bridesmaid visiting Malta for a wedding.

Too loud...

Having the pool onsite is great, but the staff are not particularly friendly and even with the do not disturb sign on the door would daily try and open our room at 8.30/9am... too early for a holiday. The place is generally a bit worn and dated and could use a lick of paint but was fine for what we needed and as the cost was cheap it was fine. The main issue is that it is extremely loud and noisy. You can hear everyone and everything that is said in the room next door which is awful. If you're going to book here take ear plugs.

However hotel seems incomplete. Big mix up with the rooms at the start, apparantly due to flooding as there was a rare heavy rain storm. Rooms weren't too secure and finishing of the rooms wasn't great.

After previous bad reviews from other people I was a bit worried about this hotel, BUT everything was totally fine, the hotel itself is beautiful and massive, swimming pool is amazing (wasn't keen on salty water but as I found out later on even the water park had salty water), the room we had was pretty enough but there was no mini fridge so that's really the only down to it. It was pretty loud at night but who cares when you're on holiday! The price of the hotel with brekky was a bargain although it is not a 5star hotel but it is more than enough, unless you are planning to spend a whole week locked in room on wifi then don't bother lol. Loved it, definitely coming back!

Basic Hotel, near beach and nightlife...

Good for younger crowd, less than 50 yards from small beach and surrounded by bars and nightclubs. Good transport links, with most sightseeing tours and local bus services leaving from outside hotel. Easy to get to Silema (recommended) where 10 min ferry to Valletta leaves every 30 mins. Good bar with food and pool area.

Don't let the lobby fool you.

While the setting is appealing the rest of the property is not. Many parts are in a state of disrepair, the phone was inoperable and there was no wifi other than in the lobby. There were lots of banging doors during the night as well as indications of over partying by our neighbors.

Disappointing service at the Beach Garden Hotel

I'm afraid I didn't get, overall, a good service from this Hotel. The room was poorly illuminated and cold. The Air Con was not working but they fixed at my request. The wardrobe was not fit for purpose. There were no hangers and/or poles to hang clothes. I asked them and they sort of sorted later. The distribution of the premises was unusual. It had three different blocks. The wifi in the room was not properly working at times. It was not clear from the staff whether there was non-smoking policies in place in the rooms. There were but I'm afraid not properly enforced; same as extremely noisy surroundings from other rooms at times. 'm afraid younger guests were quite noisy very late at night. Hotel reception's staff needs to be more attentive to those issues to reassure all guests a pleasant stay and good night sleep.

We were disppointed when we stayed. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment - no pool, no wifi in the rooms, no room cleaning services, and slow water in the shower. On the contrary, we gave points on the breakfast they served and its location.

No room in the inn

We were delayed and when we arrived we found our room had been resold, we were then giving a room that had not been cleaned and we had to change the sheets ourselves. I haven't even got into the state of the hotel, everything needs replacing and they never seem to empty the bins. Also the pool that looks great in the pictures is nowhere close to that, its also closed from after 18:00 and before 10:00 so almost useless. There was also a nightclub opposite our window playing music until 3am. So i would avoid, you would be better off in a tent on the beach

Close to public beach always crowded no matter\n

Lobby has no a/c or TV .room TV does not work all the time very noisy location , no refrigerator in rooms regardless high temperature out side ,room phones don't work, dirty lobby with crowlling insects ! One of the reception clerk was very mean and cold upon our arrival ! Rooms have very limited furniture ,bathroom has no vanity cabinets , counter or shelves !!

Value for money!

Perfect location just next to the beach and in the middle of a cool restaurant area. Hotel is just super old, use the room to sleep nothing else. Looks like there have been no reparations the last 10 years. But if you can find a good price you don't find better location and the pool is nice.

the weird part of the hotel was, it was a cold night, but no blanket was provided.
Also, we were getting bites late at night....not sure if they were bed bugs???

Grubby room, bad experience!

Room allocated to me as a single occupant was massive with 4 beds!! It was grubby although bed and sheets were clean.Booked for 2 nights but left after 1 night as found 3 large cockroaches in bathroom in morning and no hot water. All in all,not a good experience.Breakfast was good!

Dom hottade inte min bokning när jag kom var otrevlig fick sotta o vänta på ett rum, sen betala tax 20 euoro
Ingen frukost kostade 10 epuro kontant varje dag frukosyen var inte värd det priset rum slitna mörka dusch hantag yrasigt fukt fläckar i tsket poolen var ok men inte som bilden emdast städpersonalen bar trevlig

Alles war einfach komplett ekelhaft. Ich könnte nichtmal etwas aufzählen, dass in Ordnung war. Angefangen am komplett unsympathischen, uninteressierten Rezeptionist, bis zum ekelhaften, stinkendem, extrem heruntergekommenen zimmer. Ich habe noch nie so ein wiederliches Hotelzimmer gesehen. Alles war vollkommen kaputt, voller Dreck, Haaren und teilweise Schimmel. Das Fenster, was man nicht schliessen konnte (wir waren im 1 Stock, wo jeder reinkommen könnte). Man fühlte sich so nicht wohl und nicht sicher, dass wir nach nicht mal einer Stunde ein neues Hotel gebucht haben. Einfach EKELHAFT

Vi var afsted i efterårsferien og fik desværre først læst anmeldelserne efter, vi havde bestilt. Hotellet har en rigtig god beliggenhed – midt i centrum og tæt på det hele. Desværre levede værelset ikke op til vores forventninger og slet ikke til det, vi havde bestilt. Gulvet var ødelagt, der var en mærkelig lugt, madrasserne var gule, og airconditionen fungerede slet ikke. Til gengæld fik vi gjort rent flere gange i løbet af ugen med rene håndklæder og nye skraldeposer, hvilket var tilfredsstillende. Alt i alt en meget blandet oplevelse.

Servicen från personalen var inte till mötesgående. Fanns oftast inte handukar klara när man kom tillbaka till hotellet på egtermiddagen. Inget kylskåp på rummet. Inget säkerhetsskåp. Dusckkabinen var det svartmögel i. Undermålig frukost. Det står att frukosten kostar 5 euro men dom tar 10 euro per person. Läget är bra
