This is a great hotel because it has great staff. Could not had better service from start to finish. Delicious breakfast and comfy bed. Lighting in room could have been better but would highly recommend.

The guest rooms were ok but need a refurb. The public rooms were freezing cold. Had to sit in my coat sonetimes. The food was appalling especially Boxing Day lunch when I invited my family. Probably the worst example was a main course bubble and speak ( ordered by 3 of my guests) which was just a pile of mashed potato with a strip of green leaf placed on top. I could go on

Booked for a couples night away. We arrived early, and they let us check in early which was fab and the guy booking us in was great. We went to our room, and we had a balcony which was fab. Room was a little dated and the cleanliness of the bathroom- let's say it could do with a scrub in the grouting and around taps ect.
The bed was a double but had 2 single beds pushed together but was very comfy.
We headed to the spa to use the pool ect.
The hydro pool was out of use, the hot tub we couldn't get the jets to work, but looking at them they needed a bloody good clean as were filthy.
Othr facilities were fab, sauna, steam room and pool were lovely and the changing rooms the shower was amazing I could of stayed in there for ages!
We opted not to eat at the restaurant and went out, however we had breakfast the next day only 2 staff on front of house and the one girl was running around trying to sort everyone out.
I was a little disappointed as you had to order breakfast instead of a buffet style, there was a lack of continental and the fruit wasn't fresh.
It wasn't the best breakfast, would I stay again no probably not.

Hotel was in a great setting and room was lovely. Bed very comfy. Sufficiently equipped. However, rooms were not soundproofed and we were kept awake until 2am with noise from the room above. Also, issue with shower overflowing so that bathroom floor was covered with water (no drain). Great breakfast and lovely to have use of the pool etc.

We booked a nights stay as we have recently booked our wedding at this hotel, we couldn't of asked for a better place to get married, rooms were excellent, spa was busy but it was valentine's weekend and the food was superb. Only small negatives was there did not appear to be any way into reception other than stairs which wasn’t ideal when carrying luggage etc but that may just be me not looking and also mould on the ceiling in the bathroom but other than that was a nice stay, room over looked the course and was quiet, would stay again. Overall we had a fantastic stay. The rooms were very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Our spa experience was amazing having had one of the best massage ever. The staff were also very efficient and friendly. We had Sunday lunch which was delicious. Service in the restaurant was a little slow, our only minor complaint. Would definitely recommend to others and will be returning.

Generally it was very good but a few things let it down and had i been scoring i would have struggled to give an overall 9. Poor evening service in the dining room. Just a bit sloppy and lack of attention to detail on order taking, arrival of starters 5-10mins apart (had to be chased) ,failing to communicate drinks order, not providing a steak knife until asked. Easily remedied but really for a nights stay of this price and with the recommendation i had been given I was expecting much better. Boiler issue meant lukewarm shower in the room but refund provided for that. Changing room area in the gym was really too small and dark and draughty. Jacuzzi was difficult to get going and was not really at a sufficient temperature. Room score 9 spa score 7 Restaurant score 5 and only rescued by the food itself Was still a nice time and was worth it but small things could have improved it and raised scores. Breakfast score 7.5 Was rather cold in reception area Cant complain about the cleanliness tho that was excellent and a very comfy bed and good nights sleep

We were here Saturday 26th and the power went out during early hours of the morning, we had to go home to shower and have breakfast. Initially I spoke to reception and they said because I'd already paid via expedia they couldn't give me any refund. I was so disappointed in the outcome with knowing if you book through an agent like yourselves we couldn't be helped for the first night. I would never choose to book via an agent like yourselves again I would book directly with the venue.

First off as you drive in, wow what a beautiful site. The hills, the views, the fresh air, absolutely beautiful and the parking is easy enough although a little odd with diagonal spaces!

To be picky, the water was warm, doesn't get hot! Also the towels need binning/recycling as they are very, very coarse and tired. That aside all good.

Booked 4 nights to stay with them in November. Perhaps the experience would be better in summer but the room was freezing. No central heating. The air conditioning set for 27C can't cope. Goes on and off every 3 min like a starting helicopter keeping me awake all night. The water in the shower is just moderately warm. Lasted only 3 nights and moved out.
The staff was disinterested and not attending. When checking out they were not even interested in why I am checking out early and whether everything was OK.
On the first day on arrival I asked at the reception that I am looking for local Mon-Fri accommodation for the next 4 months and whether they have any discounts or memberships programmes. I was promised that the manager will be in touch... still waiting.

Rip off checking in at 3pm and cant use spa till after 3 which i was tol we could ended up paying 20.00 extra to use it wnen we arrived early.Lovely bar man in the sports bar. Bit disapointed with the room 104 very dated and depressing and view was a massive bush .Would use spa facilities again but not stay the night .

Good service however looking a bit dated around the place and being honest cleanliness wasn’t great in 3 days there was 2 x 50 birthday tokens ( the sort that gets put in cards ) in the corridor, so it obviously wasn’t hoovered .

SHAMBOLIC HOTEL!!! I wouldn’t recommend tbis hotel to anyone unless they want to overpay for a disgusting, smoke smelling room, rude and unprofessional staff and the only positive is the view (if the weathers clear)

Oh and if you’re looking to use the spa then it’s not free even after spending £300 on two nights - it’s an additional £10pp for a 45min sessions PER DAY! Absolutely joke and hopefully this hotel is looked into and shut down soon or bought by a chain that can re-brand it and give customers the service they pay for.

Oh and if you’re looking to use the spa then it’s not free even after spending £300 on two nights - it’s an additional £10pp for a 45min sessions PER DAY! Absolutely joke and hopefully this hotel is looked into and shut down soon or bought by a chain that can re-brand it and give customers the service they pay for.

this hotel just doesn't live up to the pictures or reputation very tired and slightly rundown, in need of some TLC, Spa over crowed with no treatments alible and not as clean as it should be, a real disappointment. i must add that all staff were polite and helpful and we didn't complain at the time our stay as the issues were not things that were easily solved like Spa equipment not working, changing rooms not clean and generally seemed like a ship with out a captian

Hotel & spa was nice and very scenic but food was disappointing. Staff were friendly, which made the stay enjoyable. I would recommend but the cleanliness could be better. Twice we had to ask for new glasses and our balcony had cigarette butts (we are not smokers), so clearly this was missed by the cleaners.

The hotel is under going renovations at the moment, so it took a bit of a shine off it. The room was clean if a little cluttered with furniture and you could hear people in the room above ours, so perhaps its not the best insulated place in the world. The staff were friendly and the dinner was ok with an average breakfast.

The location and the views are nice, being able to sit outside the balcony is great, and the gym is very well equipped. Otherwise the rooms and the property are very outdated and not well maintained. It is not clean in particular. Breakfast is unhealthy and only option is a full english with a vegetarian (take away the sausage). Also not sure why the property charges extra £10 per person for 45 mins to get into the pool, It is nothing else but a pool and a simple hot tub. This is not a spa facility. There is no shower gel in showers, no hairdryer, no water to drink. The spa is the main selling point for the hotel and they charge you extra when it is less than half functional. Nothing feels like a 4 star hotel here. I would barely give 3 stars.

Hotel in a good location with stunning view and golf course. The bed was very comfortable and the aircon was good as well. Bedroom in good condition. Tasty food in the restaurant. The bathroom needs fixings and better cleanliness. On some parts of the bath, handles and shower head, there was a black mould. One of the sink taps was loose and it was spinning when tried to open, sink was clogged as the lift rod was broken. The toilet flush button didn't spring back when flushing. Because of covid rules room was not made up, the hotel sent an email about it and information, that the towels will be changed daily, but they were not. I have to ask at the reception so fresh towels were delivered, but the used ones were not taken back. These are little things, but the hotel is quite pricy, so you would not expect this kind of issue.

Hiring kids to serve food and look after the restaurant doesn't work there was no organisation certainly knot 4 star service the food was basic not to my taste. I hate coming to a place like this to think i could do better at home...

We arrived at this spa hotel to be told that we were unable to use the pool or spa facilities as it was only open to non- residents. After a discussion we were told that we could be permitted to use the facilities for 45 minutes per day. Our first evening in the restaurant was out last. Food was a poor quality- I needed a chainsaw to cut through my steak. Service was very poor. We waited over an hour for our meal and we asked for the desert menu and after 30 minutes wait we gave up and asked for the bill. We did mention the poor service and poor quality and in fairness we were given some money off the bill. We had spa treatments booked but unfortunately there was a fire in the spa so we never got to receive our treatments. We asked if we were able to walk in the hotel grounds but were told this was not allowed due to golfers. Over all a very disappointing g stay. This hotel is advertised as a spa hotel but pool is only available to non residents and the restaurant is poor with very limited choice. On the plus side the views are amazing. We ended up leaving the hotel 3 days early as we were so disappointed with the lack of facilities and poor restaurant. We were refunded by hotels.com.

Beautiful location and a beautiful golf course, unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to play but it was immaculate! The room was really clean and i think i can safely say, the comfiest bed ive ever slept in. Food was lovely in the restaurant with great service and a wonderful view. Overall a very enjoyable 2 night stay. Didn't cost an arm or leg either.

Overall I would say the stay was good value, comfortable and quiet. The place is maybe a little bit tired in some places but that is perhaps to be expected. In evening, my meal was very good quality, I had room service as I’d had a busy day. The breakfast was shocking to be absolutely honest. I had sausage, bacon and poached eggs. The sausage was very poor quality, very soft and tasted synthetic. The bacon seemed like it had been microwaved and the eggs were tasteless too. But as I said, my meal the night before was very good so cannot complain too much, better breakfast ingredients are needed though. I wouldn’t hesitate booking here again.
