I got there and there were random hairs around. It looked like housekeeping, not a previous guest. I also did not have face towels despite calling the front desk, notifying housekeeping and then calling the front desk again. It took two full days. The food wasn’t that amazing. It was rather bland to me. The staff was incredibly nice and sweet with every interaction, always smiled, greeted, and were very respectful. The hotel itself is a bit run down but has different areas that have been upgraded and are very nice. There was also an odd Shell on my floor - like original food. Other than that, decent hotel for a short stay. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it was not awful for a stop and go.

Hotel was booked due to a cancellation by another so was not first choice. Room and facilities were very good, very clean and room service was excellent. Breakfast and dinner choices were good but did not vary much by day. Only a few restaurants in the surrounding area and not so much to see. But The Abu Dhabi Mall is only 20 min walk away and the Corniche 15 min walk. The main praise is for the staff who were ever helpful and friendly and was a pleasure to interact with them.

Weeks prior to checking in, I attempted to call, message directly and through Expedia, requesting an early check in, none of my attempts to contact them was responded to. They didn’t even pick up the phone when I tried calling them. On arrival, they said that there was no possibility to check-in earlier. Would have been good to know this before I arrived.
Other than that, the staff were pleasant and polite.

When arrived no AC next to lobby. The bathroom had bad smell. The water pressure in the shower was week. The hot water was not hot. When you close the door of washroom loud sound cones due to roof panels loose. The hotel is next to mosque. The AC cannot be adjusted and very dry. The key card inside room is lose and will come out. (So definitely not 5 * hotel (max 3 *) +vs amazing staff and service from valet, good variety of breakfast, bed is nice and comfortable, near to lot of shops & grocery (1 min walk),

Badly treated at check-in

Arriving at 1300 hrs, I was told I was not allowed to check-in until 1400 hrs, so was left standing there to wait. A few minutes later another group arrived, and were called forward and invited to check-in.
I approached the desk and asked why these people were allowed to check-in, but I had been told to wait. No explanation was given for this discrimination, but the staff then let me check-in.

I had a brilliant stay at the Jannah Burj Al Sarab.

Room was very spacious, clean and modern and I had nice view on one of the upper floors. The king-size bed was so comfortable and there was a nice table to do work. The Wi-Fi was very reliable and quick. Bathroom was a decent size with a good shower.

All the staff were extremely helpful, professional, and friendly - checking in and out was quick.

The hotel has a swimming pool and gym on the top floor which offer a really great view. There was also a jacuzzi which was great to go in after a day out to re-charge.

Location is near a number of different bus routes as well as the Abu Dhabi Mall and the beautiful corniche which is well worth walking.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

The hotel needs an urgent refurbishment, carpet is overall stained, furniture is old and outdated. Curtains not fresh and the overall smell in the room is not nice. I had no warm water when is took a shower. Also the check-in was very troublesome. I needed to que in my car for over 20 minutes before I could enter the hotel and for them to take the keys of the car for obliged valet parking. I had a room on the 2nd floor and the noise from the straat and music from the hotel restaurant was very loud.

When we arrived in our room upon check in there were smb’s dirty underwear and socks. I am in shock that this is even possible in 5* hotel. I have to call reception twice so they could send smb to clean it up. There were no apologies, there was nothing from the hotel side to solve this incident. I am in shock, this is not acceptable in any hotel, especially in the hotel that claims to be a 5* hotel! They just didn’t care about this incident and didn’t make a follow up to make sure we are ok. No apology, no solution proposed. Worst service ever. I would never stay there again and would recommend everyone to avoid this property!

Terrible experience with what I would called a 3 star hotel.

Was charged 250 dollars for an extra bed that was in the worst condition ever.. the brought me an old broken mattress and when I complained, the brought me a second mattress stained with a huge circle in the middle… you could not imagine sleep on such a thing… they made me wait for hours to send a supervisor and the only solution they had was to use blankets as the bed…

paid 250 dollars to sleep on the floor. There was no responsibility or accountability from the hotel.

The breakfast was also very average and the premises are definitively not up to the stars the hotel proclaiming it has…

At most, is a 3 star hotel, very expensive for what you get!

Do not recommend it at all….

It was bad experience due to giving us different type of room than what we booked and not matching with the booking information. In addition the reason is they don’t have the type of booked room! Which should not happened and they did not fix that issue by giving upgrade! They provided down grade room!. The booked room is two bed and see view, the room provided was one bed and not a see view

I had no hot water, I had to shower with cold water.
I asked them to fix the issue but they took two hours, I had to call back again then finally I an engineer came and he sad he fix the problem.
I left with my children, when we were back to the hotel room at night I needed to have a shower, the water was cold again.
I called in the morning to the receptionist to send someone to fix it again, they took long again to send someone.
It was so annoying to have this kind of issue during a holiday plus the room was not as described, it should be 60 square meters but it was much smaller compared with the one we stayed in the same hote few days before.

The service is not that good. I waited for my luggage for almost 20 minutes. It’s not very professional. You can tell they really wait tips. This makes me uncomfortable. A 5 star shouldn’t like this. Also the treat guests as suspects and keep asked to questions all time. I won’t come back here.

A nice hotel but limited. Pool and facilities disappointing. Malaga Lounge very disappointing. Cocina restaurant was good but we preferred to venture into the other hotel bars and restaurants in the evening. Local area is downtown but nothing to get excited. Walk to Corniche at the Port end is easy. Staff were friendly even though inexperienced.

Charge me for a bucket of ICE.

I was shocked to learn that the hotel wanted to charge me AED$10 for a bucket of ice since the fridge was not cold at all. The lady said she told me over the phone but I couldn’t understand her due to her accent. Luckily, she was willing to take the ice away when I declined to pay (I was also heading out for dinner and the ice will melt away when I get back).

The hotel is located in a tourist area. You can find many cheap restaurants with high-quality foods and supermarkets near the hotel. The Abu Dhabi mall is 20 min walk from the hotel. There is a mosque 20 meters close to the hotel and you can have free unlimited drinking water from the mosque for 24h. The Price and quality of the hotel are very good in Abu Dhabi compared to other international hotels around the world!!!!

Good budget hotel

While no one will mistake Burj Al Sarab with the other hotel with a similar name, this hotel is a decent place to stay on a budget. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Amenities are decent, and the pool, jacuzzi and gym are quite pleasant. The location near the corniche, the port and Saadiyat Island are also pluses.

On a one week business trip, I found the hotel staff very professional and helpful.

For instance, the Front Office staff were able to resolve any queries or requests with great speed and to my needs. They also went an extra step further and gave me suggestions to make my experience in Abu Dhabi even more memorable. For instance, when I asked for suggestions on Indian restaurants, I was given recommendations for other cuisine as well.

The housekeeping staff were also incredibly responsive. Special mentions to Muzommil who absolutely addressed my requests with a most professional approach. I had a query about the TV remote control - he looked into the issue immediately, realised that it needed a technician and he called the technician. The technician arrived within 5 minutes while Muzommil observed to ensure a positive end result. Absolutely over and above his duties. Equally, I had a query about the room temperature and he came to the room and explained the operation of the AC system (not my strength) very clearly.

Overall, the experience of staying in this hotel was very enjoyable and well worth the value. The room itself was a decently large size, the overhead shower had wide coverage, the bathroom and bedroom were clean and as I say above, the service was exceptional.

The property lacks a business center and basic things like a sitting lounge. Be careful when you book as I booked through Expedia with breakfast and and a view. What I received was no view and no breakfast. I don’t know if that is the fault of the hotel or Expedia!!!! I will have to find out when I return to the states.
