Excellent stay here. Kind, friendly, accommodating, helpful staff. Quick, easy check in/out. The Asian restaurant next to the lobby was just amazing. I had the teriyaki salmon & it was delicious. Would stay here again...highly recommended.

The hotel room was great. The AC worked good, and the beds were good. Some things in the room didn't work like the Tv's and the safe, but it got the job done. The hotel is in an interesting part of town, but it was safe, and parking was good in the evening.

Good value hotel

It was a 2-night stay for our son to attend an event in Abu Dhabi. The hotel was good value and provided the basic stuff well. The location was in the older part of the city, and would be good for those looking for a centrally located affordable hotel.

The hotel Manager was rude, not friendly A simple language misunderstansing and he did not allow us to check in. We had to take a taxi back to Dubai. Not a pleasent expirience. I hane not been refunded.

No private parking available in the hotel. They have a valet who was trying to find a public park for another car and I waited very long time. At the end they asked me to leave my car front of the property and took the key without giving me a ticket and I rejected.
I looked for a parking by myself very far away from the hotel for 1:30 hour.

This hotel was a great pick and completely blowed us off our feet. The rooms and floors are Awesome and away refreshed with deodorizer. We wanted to extend but sold out. Look forward to staying here on future trips to Abu Dhabi (especially with family).

Great value for money, but some technical problems

Positives:
Adequate location and many taxi drivers know the hotel's name.
Great interior design, very comfortable beds, nice thick soft carpets and overall well-equipped hotel room. Overall, the room looks very nice and it's incredibly spacious!
Exceptionally kind receptionists. They behave much nicer than in most hotels.

Negatives:
Receptionist said breakfast is only 35 AED, then it turned out it was 42 AED on location.
Oddly, the staff taking the money for breakfast ostentatiously acted like they were expecting a tip after paying(?). Even though, they didn't do ANYTHING besides just taking the money for it.
After all, you go pick the food for yourself and other staff were responsible for preparing it.
Internet breaks down frequently: it just stops working.
The window is very dirty and the curtains show strong signs of wear, remains of cigarettes stuck onto the window's bottom section. Mosquito net on the window
was burnt with a cigarette (probably by an earlier occupant of the room).
Lack of a stronger light source in the hotel room. Only 3 small lamps are found in the room. You have to run them all to have some low light.

The hotel is in a central area which is good. They need to update or refurbish the hotel and mainly change the beds , they are too soggy for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was disappointing , not too many choices of international food , it was mainly their local food. I would suggest they should add more options to their breakfast menu ( grilled potatoes, fish, etc.

The breakfast area was crowded in one of the days we had to share tables with strangers. Reception should also learn to be more welcoming and also tell you about the facilities they have in the hotel. I appreciated that I was checked in before time because we arrived early around 12pm, thanks

I loved their PIZZA it was delicious.

Centrally located with good service + a few quirks

Centrally located and popular with tour groups, the hotel has great service. If you need something, it's up to your room in a flash. Front desk is helpful. I stayed only one night, and that night I couldn't get the thermostat to get more than 20 degrees. It was freezing in the room. An engineer was sent up to fix this, but didn't work. Finally we just turned off the fan to get warm. The bathtub drain didn't open when we turned it so we had to use a fork to pry it open (see photo) so water could train. Though I was not given a room upgrade (as I had in other 3 hotels in the UAE) room was spacious and cheerful. Not a bad choice for a budget hotel.

booked king size bed and paid accordingly but when reched into the hotel the front desk manager said he dont have king side bed and offer for the single bed. how come advance booked and paid room can sell to other people? the room he provided me was terrible not as per the advertise. cofee machine/hot water machine doesnt . TV no signal,no any channel.just they put the Television in the room for show.morning check out time no one greet or ask if guest need a taxi.simply took the key and said thank you.no smile/no hospitality. the guy who seems like a front desk manager who was there while i was checking still was in the counter at the time of chek out but pointed me to go to the next lady in the corner. He didnot care to ask about the guest experience while he altered the room. who cares right? He may think its a one time business,so who cares?customer doesn't return? who cares.

City center hotel with easy access to shops and restaurants. Far from airport.
Requested an early check in at 6 AM , but denied. With in 30 minutes I was offered the room for an additional 200 Dhirams , which I refused. I got the room at 10:45 AM. Had problem with drain in the shower which was fixed within 30 minutes.
Buffet Breakfast is ok to satisfy the Chinese Tourist. Checked out a day earlier . Wise to pay refundable tariff than non refundable .

Central location, large rooms, great value hotel

Flight arrived early so walked around hotel area. Which was in busy crossroads, city centre, and canfind most thing close by. However walking wasn’t possible for 20 mins due to heat and the roadworks being done. Use a taxi for Abu Dhabi mall and any place which is notebook than 15mjns wall. We we’re able to get room around midday. Hotel seems like 3.5-4 star from lobby. However the service is what makes it really good to stay at, especially at the price we paid. We were asked regularly about our stay. Room was big and had the usual things available to use, iron was available and sent immediately. Response was always good and quick.
The beds were disappointing, they moved two beds together for us instead of a proper double bed.
Other then that the hotel was great value for money.

We arrived after midnight, no problem of check in , pretty quick. Check your booking cost is it included the new tourist tax for $15 UAE. The room is dated , generally cleaned, we have non smoking floor but not getting a king size bed but only a two single bed , it is ok . We only have one bath towel and it was quick to get the other towel after we call the house keeper. The Air con is freezing even at low speed, end up we turn it off as the fan was a big noisy. Room is not big but was comfortable. The safe is not working as there is no battery, we don’t ask for replacement. Bathroom facilities are adequate, for environment safe, they don’t supply toothpaste or tooth brush but you can ring for. They put a sign up for this supply. There needs some more maintenance work on toilet flushing switch. The buffet breakfast was good with varieties, The fried noodles was very tasty particularly good for Asian diet. Just one of the waitress was a big slack, not professionally in cleaning up the table, I hope the manager would notice a lot food scraping that she dropped on the floor and during she cleaned the table placemat . Other than that it was a good buffet breakfast in the time of Ramadan. The bell captain was nice and check us if any help. Overall stay is good value for the cost, we paid in the last minute payment.

I had a 3 days stay it was fine till the last night all sudden I started to smell cigarettes smoke in my room

Had to wait one and a half days for room key which was malfunctioning. Bellboys friendly and helpful. Reception staff unresponsive and ill informed on transport and tourism issues in the area. Breakfast dodgy.
Room was leaking water under sink and in toilet. Maintenance poor.
Rooms spacious but more can be done to improve stay.

We are world travellers. We are from Canada and have been living in the middle east for over a year, so we do not have unrealistic expectations in this part of the world. We purchased a weekend at the City Season's Al Hamra Abu Dhabi for the Formula One race weekend. We knew the prices were going to be a bit higher that normal but it was no where near value for the money spent. The hotel was dirty, check in took far too long and the room was not ready. The hotel advertised \"recently refurbished\" but our room slill had a 70's flare. That would have been fine if it was reasonably clean. There were giant stains on the carper and chairs, food on the wall, children's scribbles on the wall. The hotel used sented vapourizers on the 8th floor to cover up the overall odour which was a non smoking floor. We approached the management and changed three rooms that night as they would not refund our money. We were traveling as a family and ended up in two separate rooms. The reason we piced this hotel was because of the family suite. The manager Mustaffa was very apologetic and tried to remedy the situation to the best of his ability but he didn't have much to work with. Thank you for trying so hard Mustafa. This hotel is not as represented. It is in very poor repair.

Great location, service and price

We spent 6 nights here and the staff and hotel exceeded our expectations. Since we booked two rooms, the staff member handling our check-in upgraded us to a suite (without us asking!). The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The service was always fast, regardless of whether we called for room service, an extra bed, or extra towels. The hotel is located centrally, so we could take a casual walk to numerous restaurants whilst taking in the sights and sounds of Abu Dhabi. It is also in close proximity to the gold souk, and a 5 minute cab drive to various malls. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with all the frills, then this may not be for you. But if you are looking for an excellently run hotel with comfortable, clean beds and a great location for exploring Abu Dhabi, then the City Seasons Al Hamra is highly recommended. The hotel staff must be commended on their pleasant nature

Friendly service after a long trip was well received. I enjoyed the free upgrade. It is clean overall, though the bathroom finishing could be a lot better. location to supermarket, fast food outlets, banking facilities are very close. Try the shawarma place just past the petrol station to the left of the hotel. A lovely city with a different vibe compared to other cities in the UAE. Will definitely be back.

A fair hotel at a fair price

Having stayed at a Sofitel hotel (5 star) in Dubai for four nights prior to transferring to Abu Dhabi, this hotel did not meet 4 stars in my opinion. Our room was outdated and the mattress mediocre. The TV did not work and there was no fridge in our room. The room had obviously not been updated in quite some time and we may have been placed in that room as they appeared to be at capacity. The maintenance did come to fix the TV promptly and apologized. The front desk was constantly busy and appeared over worked. They did, however, do a good job when asked questions and did their best to help with recommendations. I probably would not stay here again as there are probably better deals for a couple touring the country.
