They want to be a nice hotel and they’re trying but I don’t think management knows how. You only get 1 towel at a time and no hand towels or wash cloths. I ran out of toilet paper. There is no restaurant and the cafe is poor and in-inviting. Front desk staff during the day were helpful and friendly but evening and night staff of men were unhelpful and unfriendly.

Check in fine and good central location near to underground car park. However our room on a non-smoking floor was incredibly smoky. Clearly they don't take a penalty charge against clients who break the rules and they don't do a deep clean after somebody smokes in a non-smoking room. Horrible smell.
They changed us to a better room but didn't seem interested in the smelly room at all.
In the morning, the shower water was not very warm so we couldn't shower - poor really.
Otherwise it's a cheap and centrally located hotel - a bit old and tired though and not much management interest in giving us a non-smelly room with hot water. It's not much to ask really.
We would book somewhere else next time.

We liked our stay and definitely would recommend others as well. The hotel is very nice and the nightly rate was very affordable. The property is in the middle of the City and one can do shopping and eat every type of dish as lots of fast food and other restaurants closeby.

The hotel is good, the room is very nice and clean. It´s located close to Corniche Public Beach (10 Dnr taxi) or Abu Dhabi Mall (7 Dnr taxi), for example.
The bad part is amenities, as they don´t have itens like frigobar or ice/vending machine available. The breakfast (as in all hotels is too expensive 50 Dnr) then I prefer to have something out.
The reception staff are a bit slow, but nothing to complicate your stay.

Stayed here for 2 days, great location, helpful, friendly staff. Hotel decor a bit outdated and was undergoing refurbishment which we weren't aware of before we went but it didn't affect our stay really.

We stayed here for 8 nights 27/2/13 to 7/3/13, as I raced in the triathlon there. I was allowed to keep the bike in my room so it was safe. We had a standaed room on floor 20 with a great view over Capital Park. We used the mini bar to keep our juice/water cold with no objections from the hotel. We had a coffee table and chair - and ice bucket/glasses. The bucket was filled with a simple request at reception. The tea tray was refilled every day, the room cleaned daily and fresh towels/bedlinen whenever we wanted. The aircon was a treat as the weather was hotting up well during our stay. There was plenty of wardrobe space and shelves for all our 'bits'. All the staff were fantastic - very helpful and treated us like VIP's. When we needed a taxi, the consierge found one immediately and spoke to the driver if we had a problem telling him where we needed to go. There were many different restaurants within a 15min walk of here, and many many shops/markets. No swimming pool but it was a short taxi/bus to the family beach wich was excellent. We will be returning to Abu Dhabi in a couple of years and will definately be staying here.

This hotel is a terrible choice. There is so much construction around that its hard to sleep. Also, since you have to pay for the internet, which is expensive, you dont even get a fast connection plus you can only log in one device at a time. When i called down to get a luggage vart delivered no one came so after 20 mins of waiting i finally carried all my luggage down by myself. It wasnt until i got up to the desk that i was offered help

I would not see this as a destination, small functional hotel, but only 2 lifts to service 21 floors meant a lot of hanging around. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was OK but I only had it once. The massage parlor was excellent and very busy.

More like a cheesy motel
Flamingo was as disappointing as usual. I ended up staying in this hotel because I had picked Expedia 'mystery choice' at 40% discount. Had I known the hotel was Flamingo, I would have never made this choice. Anyhow, silver lining being I checked in at 10 pm and checked out the next morning at 08:00. Just looking for a decent place to sleep. Staff was below par, the room was average, the check out took forever, the bed was very uncomfortable, etc.

Read reviews prior to visit and wasnt quite sure what to expect, however our experience was very good. Arrived at Hotel around 2am and checked in with no problems. Rooms were set up as requested, was more like a suite than a room ! complimentry water available.
Breakfast in Hotel was more than enough to set us up for the day, great choice local and european.
Asked to extend room on last day as we where not flying out till 2am, no problem or hassle.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I was concerned about the other reviews on the internet, but booked anyway considering the low price and location. Very pleasantly surprised overall. The primary concern is the room - is it clean, comfortable and do I feel safe here? YES to all three. The bathroom was all in marble tile, and very clean. The bed was really comfortable and the room was large. The staff was very nice; when I needed a western power plug adapter they immediately sent one to my room. The only complaint I had was that the water temperature for my shower wasn't as hot as I would prefer, but no big deal.
The location of the hotel is decent - about 1-2 blocks from Corniche Road, an excellent stretch for a morning or evening jog along the water. You are about 8km from the western end of the Corniche (the Heritage Villa, the Marine Mall, sports complex) and can get there either by the lovely walk, by taking a 1AED bus ride, or via taxi. There are a number of good restaurants in the area, and I found a number of great Lebanese food restaurants there. I would definitely stay here again, considering the value for the room. I did have a fridge/minibar in my room as well. The hotel hosts 2 restaurants and a spa as well; I didn't eat at the restaurants because I didn't come to UAE to eat Italian food. The spa was out of my budget - with prices equivalent to something in the US.
