Great stay at Hotel Riwo

Great hotel for our teen and 6year old. Entertainment was good and beds in the sky suites were so comfy. Maybe a few more activities for the teens during g the day would have been good, so they could meet other teens. Lovely time with family.

Buena atención en recepción y restaurante. Dos cositas que podrían mejorar: primero la cama se bamboleaba, se movía y sonaba al moverme; luego en la cena del sábado 26 de abril me comí unas rodajas de pulpo del buffet que estaban crudas, le avisé a la encargada y avisó a cocina y retiraron la bandeja, pero me causó malestar estomacal todo el domingo pero luego se pasó.

Great for families

Lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Apartments spacious, comfortable and clean. Huge beds! We had breakfast and dinner only. Large choice of cooked food, salads, breads, cakes and fruit. Lots of meat! Only disappointment was there was no protein for vegetarians, lots of veg, pasta, salad etc. I spoke with the chef and he said no one has ever mentioned it before and they will try and make something. The next day there was lentils and quinoa. Hopefully in the future they will always provide a vegetarian /vegan option. There was soya milk at breakfast.
There is yoga by the pool every morning and other games. Free food to snack on by the bar.
Mini disco was fun but quite late at 9.15pm, our 4 year old enjoyed it but he was exhausted by then.
Overall we had a great time, not far from the beach about 10 minutes from main entrance after you get the free shuttle bus. Good choice for families. It is the smallest hotel in the resort but we preferred it. (capacity of 600 rather than 1400). and during low season Benalmádena is quieter than other regions of Costa del Sol.

Holiday World Never Fails

Holiday World never fails to impress. Staff are brilliant, services are great and pools to die for. It's a very busy complex and a common problem is car parking which doesn't affect everyone of course, but being in driving distance we always struggle. Riwo is a great hotel but Polynesia would have slight advantage due to bigger variety of food on offer.

I love the big atrium in the middle of the hotel. It reminds me of the embassy suites in the US.
The room is an apartment. With a separate kitchen, separate bedroom, separate living room and bathroom. One of the nicest hotels I stayed at.
The only thing I did not like was the air conditioning is central to the entire hotel and it was not turned on because it's winter time. The evenings were cool, that was not a problem but the afternoons got warm. but I was staying there during the Corona virus scare and it may be the hotel is planning to shut down. There weren't very many guests.

The property was modern and clean and the room was fantastic. We went in January, there was a lot shut downinsise the hotel, for example the shops, the outside pool, fountains and water features drained and off, to name a few . If you sat by the pool to get back to the only open bar was a trek, up steps through kids play area past outside seating past snooker table.... to be served a coke in a plastic water cup which you could easily finish on journey back.
We went all inclusive but the choice was limited to the buffet restaurant and one bar. The food was pretty much the same every night which became boring. Being all inclusive with the bar and the food I would say not worth it. The staff were mostly friendly although service was sometimes slow. We had a packed breakfast for the last morning which was very poor, a bruised apple, orange, bread and a snack 8 days out of date !!

Its a complete rip off- i was surprised when i was asked to pay using any activity in hotel even swimming pool was charged 18 euros per person. kids play area was only during morning till 5 pm- time when you are away of hotel.
Hotel provide free shuttle bus between 10:00 to 18:00 to take you outside road-outside these hrs be prepared to walk 15 minutes up hill or take a taxi- not good with kids to walk when you are returning tired.
Buses from outside the hotel will take you to different locations but be prepared to change buses if you planing to go more distant. no way you can walk to any popular touristic spots from hotel. Beach in front of hotel take 15 minutes walk and is pathetic-don't bother to go.
Room was good size but they joined two single beds instead of double bed. beds were noisy and uncomfortable. rooms are not sound proof- we had lot of trouble to sleep as noises from lobby and upper floor and side rooms were immense. floors in room are marbled means if you move a chair will make horrible noises- should be carpeted. cleaning of the room was very nice.
Our sofabed was broken reported - fixed next day. If you ready to pay all extra money including taxi fare than go ahead otherwise choose hotels closer to marina in benalmadina or malaga town as there is not much to do in benalmadina as compared to malaga itself. you have to pay for wifi- luckily we had our UK data to use in Spain.

Great facilities and family friendly

After visiting Holiday Palace last year, the facilities and bonuses of being a repeat visitor made our holiday even better. The cleaning of the suites had certainly improved being daily and the only slight down side was that much of the outside entertainment enjoyed the previous year remained the same. Overall a fabulous holiday, perfect for children, a great location and I would definitely return.

I have mixed feelings about this stay. Let me just start by saying that though we got the best out of our holiday, we would not return to Holiday Palace. So, the location is in Benalmadena but closer to the Fuengirola side, away from all the \"action\". Our ride from the hotel (34 Euro for 5 people) took us through some really nice areas so we were excited until we realized that Holiday hotels are pretty secluded. No shops, restaurants, nothing really outside of the hotel unless you are ready to walk (or take the bus) about 30 minutes to Fuengirola. The hotel itself was fine, the staff was trying to be helpful but had their limitations. The rooms were clean, so were the common areas, however, playground was dangerous (uneven surfaces, we had to witness a kid fall on his face after tripping), the minigolf is a joke (torn, broken, uneven, etc.). The hotel pool was nice though it got pretty crowded by the afternoon which also reflected in the cleanliness of the water. If you pick this hotel, go there for the Beach Club not the beach itself as the hotel has no private beach, and the access you have to it takes you to a rocky beach area. There are much nicer beaches if you don't mind the hike towards Fuengirola. The hotel shuttle takes you up and down the hill between 10-18.00, the opening hours of the waterpark, if you come after that, you will have to walk up a steep hill. I could go on but there is no more space here. Beach club good for kids taller than 120 cms or up to 3 yrs.

Spacious with less facilities

We went as a family of four to stay at Holiday palace over the new year of 2017. The front of teh house was welcoming and clean. But there was only one receptionist attending to whole lots of things, this did not help most of the time as he or she had to deal with newcomers and other queries from the people staying in the hotel.
We had booked junior suite which was spacious and clean. There was a small kitchennette with basic facilities. The room was cleaned regularly and the beds were big enough with a nice courtyard but not much of a view in lost of the rooms.
The location is ideal if one hires a car as it is midway between Malaga and Marbella and most of the scenic places is an hour drive.
The restaurant food seems to be a good spread on day 1 but becomes very boring from day 2 onwards as there was not much variety or theme during rest of the stay. Also couple of families were vegetarians there was not much of a variety even on the new year eve party, which was a great disappointment. The restaurant staff are very hard working and tried accommodate our requests with their best abilities.
The facilities like swimming pool and tennis courts were of good standards but as we had booked half board we were charged to use even the pool. This was not clear when we booked the accommodation and I think the website should be explicit. We were charged even for water at the restaurant.
Overall the accommodtaion i spacious the location is ideal only if you have a hired car.

Photos tell a lie

Not great fare for vegetarians . We are a bunch of 4 Indian families that goes to a resort every year from UK and have experienced many such beach side resort s in Spain . This be one was good for facilities such as an indoor pool and access to beach . The negatives were very poor food ( we were 1/2 board ) and very little entertainment for the little ones . We forked out 250£ for 31st night and the party and the food was very poor value for money

Upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who went through all the details of our stay. First impression was the hotel looked amazing and clean. The weather wasn't great and I wasn't expecting to pay to use the indoor Poor which was open at ridiculous time of 11am-3pm only. £8 for a 30 min sauna session seemed ridiculous. We were expecting 4 twin beds as sold by e bookers only to be told this actually dosnt exist in the hotel. To the credit of the staff they put in an extra fold up bed in the living room so we ended up with 2 beds a sofa bed and this fold up bed for 4 adults with one child. The room isn't what you expect in a 4 star with everything pretty dirty and dated esp in the kitchen. It was pretty depressing to be in the hotel so we spent most of the day out in the rain. Hotel shop prices expensive even for a bottle of water but the breakfast buffet had a good offering. On the whole staff friendly and pleasant. Rooms need a thorough clean and updates and you shouldn't be paying for use of an indoor pool at a family holiday hotel.

Just returned from a 10 night break \n

We have just been for a family holiday after previously staying at the Polynesia and we were extremely let down the rooms are spacious well equipped and clean but that is where it ends. The hotel has a big function room for entertainment which it only used on a Friday and Saturday night all other nights the children were dancing with the entertainment staff at the bar not sure if this was a ploy to stop adults getting to the bar but definitely no bar to have a quiet drink. There was no entertainment we had to go to Polynesia to watch their entertainment and pay for all our drinks. The health spar was included but you had to buy a 3 euro hat and pay to use the sauna and steam room. The food was very bland and we had to wait for the Buffett to be refilled as not enough staff to cope. There was no choice of which bar to use as the manager decided if he would open the pool bar or not and you had to walk upstairs when you wanted a drink or food and because the pool bar was closed no music by the pool. I definitely will not be returning.

Overall I was happy with the hotel after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel was clean and the staff welcoming and very helpful both at reception/pool and restaurant. The pool area had lots of activatity for both adults and children. If you did want to visit the Aqua park then there is a free shutle bus that leaves the hotel every 10/15 mins which was fantastic. After reading some of the reviews regarding the food at lunch time and in the evening I can tell you that the was plenty of variety and the food tasted good (kids loved the desert section). The only negative comments I can give about this hotel is that you are out of the way of any shops so you would have to catch a Bus into town but if you want a relaxing holiday with the kids by the pool with no shops etc then this hotel is great. Would recommend this hotel and would go back

plenty off choice at meal times.staff were fantastic.the wife had her phone stolen at a bar in the marina.when we got back to the hotel we told the lady on the reception , she went that extra bit to help and sought things out for us when really she didn't have to..i think she should be awarded something .to be honest all the staff were great as well . .

This hotel was clean , comfortable and the food was of a good standard. The only real problem was the location. Outside the complex there is nothing {other than a beach} for miles. Also be aware of CLC World, timeshare sharks constantly hanging around - DON'T GO WITH THEM!

Disappointing holiday

The room floor hadn't been cleaned and was dirty.Hotel facilities were ok but was disappointed with buffet provided.The staff although friendly had not kept up records well and we ending paying twice for wifi services we were provided as the staff who took cash didn't give us a receipt and told it would go in the records wasn't there when we checked out and our records showed we hadn't payed for wi fi.!!The hotel is a bit far from the beech as we have to change buses to get to beach which would be difficult with a toddler and pram.Also the bus was full with no seats and had to stand carrying a toddler ,not fancy doing it again.

Make this place your last choice. Avoid if you can

This hotel boasts 4 stars and gets a 5 review, it is massively overrated. Reception staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. The beds are awful. If you require room service, they charge Euros 20 plus the cost of food. They just don't want to give a service. The outdoor pool is free but the indoor pool costs Euros 12, and there are charges for using the Gym and health club, for late checkout, and garage. Wi-fi is only available in the lobby area and costs Euros 5/day/device. We checked out after two nights and completed our holiday at the Nexus Hotel which was superb, true five star quality.

On my arrival i met the recepsionist and there were 2 in that one was with very bad attitude this is the minimum i can say and as i was waiting in the cue and she was treating peoples with their nationalities and may be some other reasons, when my turn came she didnt responded me properly and when i am talking to she is list bothered to look at me and gave me her backside, as i travel very often to diff places but i never met any of the person like her. and i also complaint about her to the manager of the hotel and everyone over there knows about this incident. even when afterwards i was talking to some other customer they to agrry with me for her bad attitude and behaviour and thats why her manager apologied to me and from next day she came on with a new attitude and was treating properly to me after all this things happnd and a big complaint on her.

Professional and Quality Hotel

Although we spent only one night at this hotel and checked out early the next morning, we still felt that this hotel had a lot to offer. The entrance to the whole Holiday World complex was very welcoming and well thought out, and gave the impression of a quality place. We arrived at night at the Holiday Palace, and were checked in very promptly and without effort. The room was very clean, and 4 star quality. However the layout of the hotel could have been better. The layout of the hotel had all the rooms on all floors face an indoor courtyard, which allowed for the noise of running children, and music from the bar to be heard from the 3rd and 4th floor at 12:00 in the morning. We therefore struggled to sleep.
The facilities like pool, gym, sauna, etc was very well kept it seems. We certainly would not mind coming to stay here another time for a longer period, provided we get a quieter room.

The hotel isn't too far away from a decent beach in Fuengerola although it is a short train ride from the Marina and beach in Benalmadena which is nice. Easy to get to as it is on the main road. First impressions of the complex were good and the hotel is fantastic for the price we paid. Our room was very pleasing and spacious with a balcony and a large bathroom. The one complain I would have is the noise of the air-con at night but that's to be expected. The swimming pool area is excellent for relaxing and also has a bar. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again

Booked with Expedia for the Holiday Palace, but this hotel had shut down for the off season and all guest got moved to the newer hotel across the street in the same complex - Holiday Polyanian. Like an upgrade - same benefits but more modern newly build building. Same resort complex.

End of season, so not as crowded which was nice, but only the sun heats the pools and so the water was a little cold at the end of October. But still a very nice sunny trip. Very enjoyable.

Only down fail was that Holiday World was at the top of a hill and the shuttle bus only ran the hours of the water park. Due to end of season limited hours... to catch day tours you had to venture down the hill on foot early am and not usually back from day tour till after the 6pm bus stoped travelling up the hill.

for the last 2 days of our stay

for the last 2 days of our stay we went all inclusive, the breakfasts were excellent but at the lunches & dinners the warm buffets let the hotels excellent serivce down considerably, I know the hotel is geared for families with children but even my kids got fed up of burgers & pizza, however the salads & deserts were very good so we did not go hungry.

very impressed with the hotel upon arrival, but soon realized that guest that were not all inclussive were nickled and dimes at every turn. services like the gym and spa cost money, while the mini golf course was unkept and reuired a deposit. I have never seen basic hotel imentities not included in the hotel cost.

This hotel did not offer internet in the rooms and also cost 10 euro a day. 90% of hotels i have stayed in offer this service free of charge, and with todays cyber world internet is a requirement for many.

For a resort that caters to children and families of many nations how can you not offer a DVD player for kids, or satelite tv that offers more language selection for movies and cartoons.

My kids found after the pool closed the night was extremely boring. After 6pm life guards are off duty and the pool is your responsability. If this is the case why does the pool close at 8pm? The sun does not go down until almost 10 in the summer so why are we closing the pools down so early? Again most hotels i have stayed in have pools open until 10pm.

Upon 1st look the hotels seems great, but once you get to see it for what it is my family was not impressed. We will definately not be returning to Holiday palace or any of the Holiday World facilities.

OUR ROOM WAS A SMALL SUITE, COMPLETE WITH FULL KITCHEN (WE ATE BREAKFAST ON OUR BEAUTIFUL TERRACE EACH DAY, AS WELL AS TWO DINNERS), VERY LARGE BATHROOM AND DECENT SIZED LIVING/DINING AREA AND BEDROOM. DECOR WAS PLAIN BUT COMFORTABLE. REGULAR BUS SERVICE TO ADJACENT TOWNS ALLOWED US TO AVOID CAR RENTAL, STILL GET AROUND AND ENJOY A QUIET HOLIDAY. MINIMAL OFFERINGS AT THE HOTEL GIFT/MARKET SHOP, BUT A MINI-MARKET 10 MINUTES AWAY BY FOOT HAD WONDERFUL BREADS AND NICE VARIETY OF SNACK ITEMS. THE HOTEL RESTAURANT WAS MEDIOCRE AT DINNER, BUT OFFERED A LARGE, MODESTLY PRICED BREAKFAST BUFFET. DON'T SIGN UP FOR FULL MEALS; GREAT RESTAURANTS CAN BE FOUND IN NEIGHBORING TOWNS.

We had an extemelly enjoyable experience at the Holiday Palace Hotel Benalmadena. We had ten persons in our party which included our three daughters and three of their friends from college.

We found the hotel to be much more than we expected. It was beautiful, and the rooms were large and clean.

The staff could not have been more friendly or accomadating. The only problem we had was the construction of another hotel next door which caused us to have to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the main street. However, the hotel provided a shuttle bus which took us around the construction when he went out.

The whole area around the hotel is upscale and very safe. The six young ladies in our group can attest to this because they went out every evening and had nothing but good experiences.

We had no problem getting around because several buses and trains ran up and down the coast on regular intervals. In addition, a taxi could be obtained with no problem.

It was a great time and everyone cried when we had to leave.

Great but lots of activities (noise!) in pool area

Great stay with lots of activities for kids. The staff for kids entertainment were really sweet and fun. Only negative was that there was constant activities in the pool area ie lots of loud speaking in microphones, there was barely 10 minutes of just music. I have kids myseld so am pretty used to noise but even I had to go to my room from time to time just to rest my ears from the microphones. It was kids competitions (all on loudspeakers), then bingo then water workout class etc back to back.

Grand établissement, propice aux familles, bien situé si vous disposez d'une voiture. Nous sommes restés 4 nuits dans une suite spacieuse, avec de grandes terrasses qui donnaient sur la mer. C'est toutefois un \"gros porteur\". Si vous souhaitez l'intimité de petits hotels historiques... ce n'est pas fait pour vous.

Buena experiencia, el trato del personal en general es agradable,las instalaciones son estupendas, fuimos con todo incluido por lo que fue todo muy completo, habitacion limpia y confortable.
Espero volver pronto porque la experiencia ha sido una maravilla tanto como para los más peque como para nosotros los adultos. Recomendable totalmente.

Hotel con unas instalaciones fabulosas, además pudimos usar incluido en el precio el \"Beach Club\", que es un parque acuático con multitud de zonas diferentes y piscinas.
Las actividades para niños y adultos son fantásticas, desde las 12 hasta las 23 tienen diferentes y constantemente.
Hicimos desayuno, comida y cena en el hotel y la comida está fenomenal, me sorprendió muy gratamente para ser un buffet de hotel.
Y lo mejor, el personal, todos ellos encantadores y atentísimos, nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Todos eran maravillosos pero Conchi y Sandro se merecen una mención especial.

Maravillosas vacaciones

Maravillosas vacaciones, tanto el complejo en general como el hotel en particular es fantástico, de hecho yo repetiré en cuanto pueda. El trato es inmejorable, los servicios son estupendos, lo único que yo cambiaría serían las camas, que son horribles para descansar y el horario de la piscina exterior, que cierra para mi gusto muy pronto para el calor y el sol que hace allí.

Ruoka oli karmivaa. Hotelli kaukana kaikesta ja hinnoitellut palvelunsa sen mukaisesti. Kuvat oli hienosti photoshopattu. Vesipuisto kaukana hotellista ja hotellilla oleva allas oli iso lasten allas. Ruokala oli huonompi kuin perus työpaikkaruokala ja sijaitsi pohjakerroksessa sisä tiloissa.

Stort, lyxigt, men inte så mysigt.

Stort fint rum, med bra altan! Hårda men rymliga sängar. Matsalen ljus och ”slamrig”.
All mat smakade likadant. Men rummet och servicen samt städning i toppklass!
