I was nervous about staying here as I’d read (after booking) a couple of reviews (here & on Google) saying, “don’t stay here as a woman alone”, “this area is unsafe” etc. However, these reviews proved to be unfounded for me. Yes, the street isn’t particularly well-lit, yes, it is a quiet road with taxis at the end. However, I didn’t feel unsafe walking here in the dark at all. Most people on the road were customers of this hotel or the one next door.
Moving on to the actual hotel, I was really impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I arrived 2 hours early, intending to just drop my suitcase in reception. But the staff on reception informed me my room was ready and checked me in! I was really impressed by this.
The room was cosy, a great temperature and I appreciated both the blackout curtains and the shutters outside the window; making for a great nights’ sleep. I appreciated the Rituals products in the bathroom - made the stay feel more luxurious! Unlike other hotels I’ve visited in Germany, these pillows were a good firmness, and not too soft ooo.
The hotel is quiet and although I knew the rooms around me were occupied, I could not hear anyone unless they were on the corridor.
The hotel is very well-located and connected, within 5 minutes’ walk of Hbf, which made getting around the city very straightforward. I liked the character of the hotel, and the free water provided behind the bar is much appreciated.

One of our favorite stays on our germany trip. We stopped in early to drop off our bags before exploring christmas markets. It was only a short walk away from the train station. I'm a fan of cows and alpine areas. The decor was cute and fun. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated being able to open the windows for some cool night air. All you can eat breakfast was a great spread. they even had a munich special: weisswurst! so we didn't have to go out of our way to find some to try. laundromats located only a 5 min walk away. wifi signal was great. I was able to game overwatch on my Nintendo switch without interruptions.

This was a great place for us to stay. It's close to the station which was important to us. It has its own vibe which we enjoyed. We were able to use the downstairs area where breakfast is served later in the day just to sit for a coffee. It's a lovely space. And, yes, the breakfast is exceptional. The Sofitel and Meridien are close by, but I would rather stay here at the Cocoon even if I wasn't on a budget holiday!

Such a creative and fun hotel! Walkable to so many sites in the city! Rustam, the manager, was engaging and fun always with recommendations for where to check out next! The lobby bar and breakfast were great places to start and end the day! So much thought went into the aesthetic of this hotel, including the “gondola” decor in the elevator that looked like the real deal while you rode up and down. If you're going to Oktoberfest, the location can't be beat! The bar was also lively and a good place to unwind after a long day. The theme of the hotel is also very unique. My only criticism is that everything felt very cramped.

Location is in a bit of good area but there are other cacoons locations closer to the old town of Munich. Bed was very comfortable and layout was convenient.

The hotel is unique, safe, and in a great location. Fifteen minute walk to old town, three minute walk to the train station, and ten to fifteen minute walks to any number of great restaurants. Staff is beyond fun, funny, engaging, and helpful. A few key issues, but they know how to pour a drink and have a good time so all was well. Would stay here again.

This was such a lovely property. The staff is super nice and they went above and beyond to assist us. We loved that it is themed. So thoughtful in the design. The location was also good. We took Uber to most places since we had tours planned and it was raining, but we could've walked to restaurants if we had wanted to. The room was a bit small for 4 people, but it was perfect for our family.

The reviews for this hotel seem to be describing a different place to the one in which I stayed. The room I was given was so worn and scruffy, it looked worse than the nearby youth hostel. The next room along had a balcony, which stretched over my window so anyone there could look straight into my room, onto my bed (the room was so tiny, that’s all they could look at). There was a significant damp patch too. The reception staff were friendly so this is no complaint against them but they didn’t seem to know what damp was, even when they saw it. They did change my room straight away but whilst there was no damp in the second room, it was, again, nothing like the photos: worn, tired and scruffy, and distinctly un-alpine. Additionally, both reception staff didn’t just show me my room number but announced it to everyone in the foyer - twice. Again, the staff weren’t unfriendly but that’s a basic security error. If you are a solo traveller or particularly, a solo female traveller, I would recommend considering other hotels.

This property is in a great location right next to the Central station. It is 10-15 min walk from the main centre with all the sights and shops. The decor is fun, themed throughout the hotel and the bathroom cable car is great. The staff spoke many languages - all perfectly and were super helpful. The family room was spacious and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again.

We opted to stay in a larger room at this hotel since our trip was more than a couple nights and most of the rooms are smaller. We absolutely adored the room and the hotel itself. The details are so charming and the spaces (public and private) are very comfortable. Staff were usually readily available and were always helpful and pleasant.
Even if we had booked a smaller room, the common spaces at the hotel are lovely, welcoming, and comfortable. With plenty of seating indoors, games and books for adults and kids, and a charming beer garden, you can easily relax and enjoy time in the public spaces of this hotel.

Excellent stay! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a cute alpine/ski lodge motif, very well done. Great photo spaces! The rooms likewise were very nicely decorated. We had a large room that was very comfortable for a family of 4. Loft area separated the two queen beds and there were 2 full bathrooms. We were able to spread out and relax. We had the hotel breakfast - it was wonderful! Good variety of hot and cold items. Well worth the cost as we did not need lunch after eating there. Also, location was great, very close to train station, easy to get around town by metro or on foot. Lots of restaurant options. Totally recommend staying here. We will be back!

The room was basic and small. No coffee station, not able to heat water to make own drinks and the machine downstairs we need to buy coffee during reception hours. Not having 24 hr reception is inconvenient. Also single staff on reception in evening had to multi task as their role was also bar tender, cleaner and room services person. Breakfast was good. Love the decor, and the breakfast buffet was spectacular! Very clean room and comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only issue was that we could not cast movies onto the tv from our phone and there was no option for English tv channels, So if you’re an English-speaking visitor who likes to relax before bed with tv entertainment, that won’t be possible here. The staff said they used to have Comcast, but people stole the dongles (I don’t blame them for not replacing them!). Otherwise, it was a great stay!

The hotel itself is super cute, the junior suite perfect for a family very roomy clean & comfortable. Hotel staff weren’t super friendly but answered questions if we had them.The area around the hotel isn’t very nice, but it’s a short walk to town although if you are with kids at night the walk to and from town one the side (Bayerstraße) closest to station isn’t too bad but on the other side along schwanthalerstrabe is very ethnic, with strip clubs, adult shops - very unpleasant so not the best for kids.
