Didn’t have the breakfast. Receptionist was lovely but the hotel was in serious need to upgrading. Our mattress was broken, broken tile in the bathroom, shower head was old. The staff were really nice but some money needs to be spent on doing it up. The walls are also paper thin so it was quite hard to sleep even though I’m a heavy sleeper. The area around the hotel is also not the best but I know this is nothing to do with the hotel

Great little place to stay

Very convenient location with 3 Metro stops close by, a market next door and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel room was actually quite big and the bathroom pretty big too. An elevator was a definite bonus. We didn't get a chance to try the bar but it looked like it was plentiful. Free water, coffee and hot chocolate was a nice touch

Pleasant hotel, staff members are very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Only hiccup was the elevator being out of service and we were on the 5th floor!
The staff helped with our luggage which we greatly appreciated.
It was thankfully fixed the next day.

Clean room.The staff is very nice.
Don't expect a North American hotel. Small room. No fridge. Even though I had a \"do not disturb\" and \"eco\" cards on the door, one of the days my room was still tidied up. There was a weird ventilation noise every few minutes, like moving heavy furniture.
No soundproofing. You hear everyone up and down the stairs, flushing toilets, talking and coughing in the next room and banging the doors.People getting ready - you wake up with them because you hear everything.

Unfortunately, you can hear everything that's happening outside your room - lots of doors banging and people talking. The location is good as you can get everywhere easily but the street the hotel is on feels a little dodgy.

The best part about this property is the location. A 15 min walk from Gare Du Nord or a less than 5 min walk from 2 different metro line stations. And plenty of buses at thr doorstep.
Apart from that, the room was small and the bathroom as well. While everything was clean and had no issues, I was expecting a decently spaced room and bathroom but it was not to be. We had moat amenities but didn't have an iron and a board to press clothes.
The surrounding area of the hotel was not very clean and had some dimly lit areas. We didn't particularly feel unsafe at any point though.

Breakfast was decent. They had free water and some snacks and coffee available which was nice.

Overall a decent stay although I'm not sure I'd stay here again. But again, great location.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, very helpful when we checked in and out and very accommodating to the children in our family. There were lots of lovely small touches like the water bottles and tea/ coffees in the reception area. We had a family room which was a lovely big size, especially for Paris, and the bathroom was clean and very comfortable to use. The beds were comfortable and clean and we all slept well. There are plenty of bakeries and shops close by for food and snacks, and its only a fifteen minute walk to Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur etc. With the Chateau Rouge metro stop five mins from the hotel and the Gard du Nord only two stops away from Chateau Rouge it was a great base to explore Paris from as a family.

We arrived a few hours before check in and we were graciously accommodated and allowed to access our room early. The room was clean and bright and sound proof which was amazing as we were on a busy street. There was free coffee and tea in our rooms as well as at reception with complimentary still and sparkling water available and biscuits to enjoy all day everyday. The staff were super lovely and super helpful especially Louise who went above and beyond to assist. The location was not far from the metro which allowed for easy access to get around the city and to many tourist attractions. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay in Paris!

Good hotel near Gare Du Nord Paris

Needed a hotel near Gare Du Nord and this was perfect and well located tot he metro a few minutes away, reception stand very greenly and a lovely room nice bathroom with toilerties and tea and coffee in the room, Bed was comfortable and a good night sleep. the area of the hotel is in an upcoming part of Paris and some ok cafes and lots of people on the streets!!!

The Playce Hotel is quite underwhelming from the outside and the lobby is not as pictured in the advertisement on Hotels.com, however the room was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. We arrived before checkIn time and the staff made every effort to have a room ready as quickly as possible. It had many small conveniences, including a 24 hour free espresso machine, and a machine for free cold, room temperature, or carbonated water to refill water bottles. It is situated next door to a large grocery store where we purchased a variety of fresh pastries for breakfast each morning. We were welcome to eat these pastries at the bar tables while enjoying the free coffee. It is within walking distance from the Sacré Coeur Basilica in Montmartre and close to many restaurants. It is also less than two blocks from the nearest Metro station. We would definitely stay here again!

They have great environmental measures such as free water filters & glass bottles to avoid buying plastic ones, free coffee in the lobby.

Lovely staff and breakfast stay was comfortable. Everything worked inside the hotel. Only negative were the noises from the rooms. Does feel like those walls could do with a little more ‘padding’. Whilst the location is slap bang in the middle of Paris with lots of options to eat and drink, I was not phased by the locality but some may be put off. Rest assured if you are not alone it’s fine.

Perfect location for everything we wanted, although I can see why it would appear daunting for a family. Basic hotel but had everything we needed.
The wardrobe was useless really, as it was almost impossible to access. The room had been cleaned, prior our arrival, but one of the bins hadn’t been emptied and there were two dirty mugs left on the side too.
Overall, we’d definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean and close to two train stops so that was helpful. The staff was friendly enough. I didn’t pay for the breakfast that was overpriced IMO. I’d rather eat at cafe for the same price. There is also a supermarket and pharmacy next door. With that said, I personally wouldn’t stay here again. The air conditioner barely worked and the room wasn’t the most comfortable at night. The location was pretty seedy at night as there were many prostitutes in the area. While I felt safe, it’s not the environment that I’d like to be around after a day of sightseeing.

A good basic hotel - shown 4* but in reality a 2 or 3*. Clean and tidy and very friendly staff.
Location is ideal being only a 15 minute walk from Montmartre. The area is not the best with lots of street sellers and some beggars, but did not feel unsafe.
Metro only two minutes walk from the hotel.

The reception personnel were friendly and professional. The breakfast was pretty good for Paris. But the cleaning wasn't that great, specially now during the Corona virus situation. We spent two nights in the hotel and on the second day the room wasn't cleaned. We called gthe reception, and were told that the maid did't had time to clean our room. This is not an excuse. When we asked asked for fresh towels we were told to carry the used towels downstair for replacement. Not my idea of customer service. Another issue was the parking we were told that parking was 22€ when we parked we were charged 30€. Big difference.

The cleaners cleaned the rooms well. The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh. The room was also clean and tidy making the stay pleasant. The shower needed some TLC as there was black mould in the grout but it was still clean in general. You were able to hear people walking above and doors banging which did disturb our nights sleep. However, the staff were pleasant and helpful.

A basic hotel close to the Sacre Coeur

A basic 2 / 3 star hotel about a 15 minute walk from the Sacre Coeur. TBH the area in which the hotel is situated is not the best and quite scruffy and dirty but I did not feel unsafe.
The hotel is clean and tidy but places is showing signs of being in need of a a lick of paint or refurb.
My room though small was clean and tidy and perfect for my needs and breakfast was sufficient.

Highly recommended hotel in Paris.

We had a very pleasant staying at The Place Hotel. Convenient location, just 15 mins walk from EuroStar station. Easy access to all tourist attractions. A lot of family run French restaurant choices in the neighbourhood. Friendly atmosphere. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room size is ok and cleaned. The breakfast is alright. We would stay again if we visit Paris next time.

We loved the location. Very close to the gare nord. It’s a northern African neighbourhood and a bit poor but no concerns for safety at all. Hotel staff super lovely and helpful. When I brought it up to the front desk they said they would look at it and never did. So we didn’t have ac for 6 nights but was ok because it was cold in Paris so that helped .

A Basic hotel close to Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre.

A basic hotel within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre Paris however it has to be said that imo it is not situated in one of the nicer areas of Paris. A metro station is just a two minute walk up the road.
The room was small but sufficient for a single person and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean but I did notice that the were wall tiles in the bathroom particularly around the toilet that needed cleaning.

The incompetence of the manager on staff here was enough to make me stay away from this place in the future. He is rude to his staff and customers and has no place working in the hospitality industry.

This is definetely not a 4 star hotel, its like a 2/3 star with some trendy wallpaper to make it more pleasing to the eye. The location is not great and you can feel a little unsafe to be honest. The plaster was peeling away in our room, the lid on the bathroom bit had been broken off and left, the phone didn't work. On a positive note the bed was super comfortable and the staff were super friendly.

The hotel was in a great location, an easy walk to many great spots and breakfast cafés, and a 2 minute walk to the metro. Few colorful characters in the streets but nothing to be concerned about - typical of a big city. Very comfortable room and breakfast worthwhile. The place is nice and clean, the staff is polite, joyful, and always very helpful. It also has a bar/bistro by the lobby that is open during breakfast and reopens in the afternoon till night that is perfect if you want to lounge and have a few drinks after walking around town. The hotel is located in a busy neighborhood but we never have a problem with safety. It is also located walking distance in between two metro stations which is very convenient to get around Paris.
The hotel has no mini fridge but there is a market located next door where we can pick up juice and milk everyday and it is also located near several choices of places to eat if you wanted to grab a snack on your way back to the hotel. Overall I am satisfied with the service, the staf,f and the affordable price for this hotel.

The service was very good and the room was clean. However, the hotel is near the Chateau Rouge metro area in Paris that several people warned us about the safety. Personally we did not have any negative experience but we did feel the need to be on guard when returning late as we had been warned by several local residents about the area. Apart from the location, the Playce Hotel was a good place to stay at.

The Playce is very well run and put together. The room was great, and spacious (for european standards). The price was terrific for paris. There is one small downside- the Hotel itself is not in the best of neighborhoods. My wife was a little nervous walking through late at night, but there was nothing bad to mention.

Fun boutique hotel with friendly staff

Smooth check in process and front desk guys were excellent! Very friendly and informative. Breakfast had a good variety of options go on the earlier side as it tends to get crowded. It was great boutique hotel for us and we didn’t mind being a little further out from “downtown”. Paris is very big and during our stay the train out of downtown area shutdown at 11pm, so we were scrabbling to figure out a bus or walking plan to get back- once we figured it out no problem at all. Room was typical size for European room, plenty of bathroom space with spacious shower great A/C on the hot Paris days.

I booked this property at about 200 euros just to ensure that my first night in Paris is comfortable. However, the airconditioning in the room 505 was not working and the staff was not even willing to come up. He mentioned that the next staff would coe at 11:30 PM and would help me. A new staff did turn up at 11:30 but he also refused to come up as he said he was the only one at the reception. He said that the technician would come in the morning and would help me. I asked if I could cancel my booking an move elsewhere but he said no. Finally, I went to my room at 12 AM to sllep but it was suffocating and I could hardly sleep. One more thing, the sink of the room was blocked, I complained but to no avail. The management in the morning acknowledged the problemsm said the first staff was a temp and offered me a drink/reduced price for the next night. However, I asked for a refund which they did not agree to. I consider myself lucky that I had booked only for one night and moved to another hotel.

DON'T DO IT!!

I paid somewhere around $200 and this was the crappiest place ever!!! Bottom line, the hotel is not worth more than $80 a day. They should be ashamed to charge anymore. The area is horrible - someone was sleeping right outside the hotel. The areas was inconvenient and a bit menacing. The room was just bare bones. I hated staying there.

The best hotel service and staff I had the pleasure to stay in. I would like to pick up the hotel and take it with me on all my travels.
The location was central to all that I needed.
My only one negative is the visible amount of povety within the area and the local community often stare and are consistantly visible being idle amongst the streets.

Like a Motel 6

You get what you pay for. The outside area was not was expected. There were many homeless people right outside of the hotel. The mattress was wrapped in plastic so that made it uncomfortable. Sheets and towels were clean and room was clean. It’s a basic motel. I was fine since it was clean but next time I will pick something else. I’ve been to Paris several times and due to Spring break it was the only one available for a decent price. All of my other choices were sold out.
