The property had amazing views and great food selection and service. we did the all inclusive which was great. The tv wouldn’t stream the entire time after multiple maintenance visits. no chrome cast of apps like netflix, Prime… already on the tv. The rooms are clean but very dated. The bed barely fits in the master bedroom. They never answered the phone when we call the front desk the entire stay. lastly when we checked in the had us sit down at the remote desk they pushed penthouse upgrade. If the views and meals and staff weren’t so good I’d choose another place closer to Palma and on the beach

The staff was outstanding and went above and beyond for us on more than one occasion. The pool and building were very clean and well kept and the food at the restaurant was some of the best I had- outstanding selections and wait staff courteous, helpful, and knowledgable. Not to mention beautiful views and Walkable to town and beach. Would absolutely Stay here again.

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon, so we had high expectations.
The reception was friendly upon arrival, and the overall facilities were decent. The room was spacious, though slightly dated, and the terrace offered a nice view — though privacy was limited as neighboring rooms were clearly visible. Soundproofing was also not ideal. I also noticed several dark spots on one of the mirrors.

What disappointed me the most was the service. After the first cleaning, we returned to find a used towel left in the bathtub — and this was not an isolated incident. There was always something slightly unfinished about the housekeeping. On the first day, some amenities were already nearly empty, including the hair conditioner, even though we hadn’t used them. I expected them to be refilled after housekeeping, but they weren’t. When I called the front desk, I was told that I would have to wait until the next morning. Even after asking again the following day, amenities remained unfilled until we checked out. At some point, I simply gave up on asking. The room key frequently malfunctioned, requiring several trips to the front desk, and the room only had two very small trash bins, which felt quite inconvenient.

As it was our honeymoon, we had hoped for at least a touch of thoughtful service — not necessarily anything special, but at least the basics done right. Unfortunately, even those weren't properly taken care of. Considering the amount we paid, the service didn't meet our expectation.

I paid for all inclusive but did not get access to all inclusive. I could not eat or drink during the day because all inclusive was limited. They force you to buy food by the pool. There were issues with my shower and the toilet as well.

We booked this property based on glowing Expedia reviews, expecting a high-end experience. Unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas and is clearly in need of renovation.

At check-in, the reception staff seemed more focused on upselling room upgrades than welcoming guests. Despite booking through Expedia with VIP benefits, these weren’t mentioned at all—I had to ask near the end of our stay about the complimentary sparkling wine, which was eventually provided.

The rooms are not soundproof. You can hear footsteps echoing through the tiled corridors and even toilets flushing from the floors above.

Breakfast was average. The omelettes were the highlight, but the wait time was longer than expected and the overall selection felt uninspired.

This property may have once been premium, but it’s not living up to that reputation now. I’d recommend looking elsewhere until it’s had a proper refresh.

The location of this hotel makes it a 5 star hotel in my opinion. I understand that some other reviews say the hotel is bit older, but the location Is amazing. The staff are extremely friendly making you feel special right from check in to restaurant! Nothing too much trouble. The views are amazing from every room of Santa Ponsa bay. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented. also cooked to order with a theme each night such as seafood or Spanish. There is a dining terrace overlooking the bay and if you time it right you have a front row table every time!
We had a central Junior Suite on 3rd floor overlooking pool and the bay. It was very spacious with two single beds together which made a huge King size bed. Only criticism is bathroom needs attention. It is only separated from the bedroom by a wooden arch. There is huge jacuzzi bath which I can’t believe anybody uses and just takes up space. Also with the amount of counter space under the long mirror I feel there should be two basins. However the shower and toilet are in a separate room. Although the room is very spacious it is little tired and modernisation would be welcome. The pool and poolside is kept extremely clean and sunbeds checked every day. Not too much bed reserving so you can have breakfast and still get somewhere to sit by the pool. There is no beach as the hotel is built into the cliff side but there is a small jetty to jump in the sea. Overall the hotel is in a quiet residential neighbourhood with a few bars and shops a short walking distance and Santa Ponsa town 15-20 minutes walk. It’s the staff and views that make this hotel special.

The Iberostar Jardin del Sol provided us with an expansive sparkling view of the sea, a gorgeous well maintained pool, and spa amenities for a worry free, relaxing and glorious week! There were plenty of activities- we did yoga, cocktail making lessons, pool aerobics, and a perfume alchemy workshop. Best fun was diving into the sea from the cliff- what a blast. The staff was warm and responsive, and they made us feel so at home! I can't even find words to describe the variety of flavorful dishes in every single buffet, the professionalism of the staff, and the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoor patio setting. The rooms are not glamorous, but the junior sweet is roomy and housekeeping made it feel fresh each day. I wholeheartedly recommend this Iberostar resort.

Great location and staff but bedroom disappointing

No doubt this hotel has an amazing location: right on the sea, great for those who like swimming in a crystal clear warm sea with colourful fish and some coral. Loved the swimming and the pool area also very pleasant. But chaos and some arguments over sun-beds during the busy w-end I was there. They need more sun parasols too. Fantastic staff and a big 'gracias' to Maria, who cooks the delicious omlettes at breakfast, with such care and a big smile every morning! Pool area staff also great, and all other staff too. For me, the big disappointment was the bedroom, which is at the back of the 'suite', looking onto a wall. It's cramped and dark and very noisy as can hear traffic and other guests passing by. It is an exaggeration to call the standard rooms a 'suite'. Yes, they have a sea view, but the bathroom is also really cramped and very tight to get into the shower. Then lots of space wasted on a breakfast bar, but no facilities, not even a kettle. Just a small coffee maker with only a few coffee pods. No milk, and a poor mini-bar. No opportunity to make tea or other drinks. Mattress was like rubber. It's a pity as the location and rest of the hotel is great (also like the spa). I thought the room would be better given I like Iberostar very much. I would not return here, as i did not sleep very well, given noise and discomfort. Their sister hotel on the other side of Palma, Iberostar Playa del Palma is much more comfortable. I will go back to there in future.

Nearby Square had many bars and restaurants to visit. Local transit (TIB) stop was a quick 5 min walk away and transit was easy to use. The room upgrade was nice so you could use your room and enjoy private hot tub, shade and sun in comfort. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the penthouse suite. The room was missing a few small items such as snacks, and apparently a QR code linked directly to their room service menu. There also was some small food spilled on the balcony upstairs that hadn’t been cleaned up from the previous client. For the price we paid for the room, I wouldn’t have expected these issues, as minor as they were. Other than that, the views and service were superb, the spa is definitely worth a visit, and the teppanyaki experience was amazing. Would visit again, hopefully next time the minor issues are taken care of.

Overall it was a pleasant stay but a few things could have been improved on.
Our room smelt of blocked drain (third floor). Robin, a brand new member of staff, did not help me with my bags (two backpacks, full duty free bag and a wheel case) when I was clearly heavily pregnant and clearly struggling to juggle all of the bags. Surely helping a pregnant woman is just common curtesy and doesn’t need to be taught as part of customer service? No welcome drink which was promised and would have been appreciated being in the third trimester in the high heat. The view from the pool is beautiful, breakfast was tasty, good location to walk to bars super markets etc otherwise staff very friendly geberally

We booked a suite with a hot tub and terrace with sea view. The terrace was great but there were many ants coming through the patio door. We notified staff and they sent someone to clean it. But 2 days later we saw ants in the closet and they got on my clothes. I had to shake out my clothes. We notified guest services and she didn’t do anything other than have housekeeping come by and give us new towels. The hotel is very old and out dated. Other than that the view was beautiful. The restaurant buffet was ok we went once for breakfast and once for dinner. I would not pay for all inclusive here.

I chose to stay in the premium sea-view suite with terrace. The staff was nice and the place was clean. These two positive qualities do not make the stay a 4 star experience. The facility is very very outdated. The room does not feel welcoming. There are no rugs anywhere and you are walking on bare outdated tiles throughout. The fixtures and furniture are old. Im not sure why the front lobby is so nice and remodeled. This should have been invested in the guest rooms instead. Also, photos in expedia show the newer affiliate resort next door, including the pool photos. No where in the description does it mention the resort next door. Expedia, please look into this as it is false advertising/ marketing. Far from a 4 star. You will not get Mallorca vibes here.

This was our second visit to this hotel, last year we only had breakfast included but as the dining opportunities in the surrondings was limited we had dinner a few nights at the hotel. We where very impressed by the quality and the various themes on those nights which made us book dinner included this year. That was unfortunatly a mistake - this years dinning expirences was nothing like last years - quality was ok but not more. I have the expression that savings have been made which made our evenings less enjoyable in relation to last year. Given the poor other options we will find another place for next years holiday in Mallorca.

Usually a sea view is reserved for those wishing to spend more but this hotel has been designed so that everyone can enjoy the scenery. There is a some lack of privacy with the glass being the only separation between each terrace. The staff is great and everyone is helpful and kind. Overall enjoyable stay with my family. Most of the reviews you’ll read are pretty accurate but I’ll share some quick pros and cons i experienced..
Pros:
-The absolute best part of the hotel is location. Quiet and situated right on the bay, you get direct private access to the water and exceptional views right from your room and dining areas.
-Service everywhere at the hotel, from the restaurant to the ground floor bar was excellent. Everyone was kind, attentive, and did their best to make you feel welcomed.
-I had the half board option so i only had breakfast and dinner. Dinners were buffet style and there was a large section that served a chefs special which changed every day. This was always tasty and the best part of the buffet.

Cons:
-Adding onto dinner, i think its ridiculous that drinks (obvious exclusion of alcohol) is not included in the half board option. Even water has to be paid for which is a joke because they refill the bottles with the same free water that is dispensed in the machines they have set up on every floor for guests. Just an obvious example of a money grab by the hotel.
-Breakfast was absolutely underwhelming, i don’t see how people found anything delicious. The only decent options were the pastries and the omelette station, and even that was always made overcooked.
-Rooms can use a bit of an update but not a big deal.
-Only listing this for those who care about a gym in a hotel—Just an awful tiny space, broken equipment, few light weights, 1/10.

The breakfast inclusive package is convenient for a buffet service. The non Prestige area pool has the best pool size service , which at the prestige area is non existent. The property itself is quite nice, great view of the ocean and have direct access to the sea. the staffs are very friendly. Room is clean but a bit dated. The hotel was advertised as having three pools, however, if you don’t book the prestige room, you can only access one main pool for (poor people and can’t get access the other two.

The free room upgrade when available doesn’t work either for Expedia platinum member because they are clearly available for additional charge.
The hotel is in an area with full of English taverns and shops. Don’t expect any good local cuisine around.
We wanted to do the Japan restaurant on the premise the last night but wasn’t informed that that restaurant is reserved only and the cut off time is 5pm. Wish we were told about that when check in so we know and planned it accordingly.

Have never written a negative review but the hotel was packed and they were not ready (eg couldn’t get any seats at the pool, towels ran out, and we waited for over 90 minutes for food and drinks). Yikes. Hotel staff would not validate Gold member status either. Views were gorgeous though.

Wish I had read a review like mine before I booked.
Generally good. Well maintained and checks most of the boxes. But it falls short on what it should and could be.
The mostly good:
I came with my wife. Our goal was to relax and mix remote work. We were not looking to explore much of the area beyond the property. 4 night stay. Did all inclusive and stayed in the Star Prestige section, which gave access to an arguably nicer, quieter area, with a few perks. The food at the buffet was satisfactory with the occasional ‘mmm that’s good’. But it didn’t blow us away.
The not as good:
Rooms are in need of an upgrade. I believe we had a standard king bed room. Some fixtures and surfaces are tired. Bathrooms hungry for a layout change…should have 2 sinks, and the tub without screen option to common space is a miss.
All inclusive is not good value. The menus offer inclusions. However, the line they’ve drawn between what is and isn’t included (I’m speaking about food and drinks here) falls short of what it should be. You’ll pay half of the full price on more ‘premium’ options. But given the steep price already commanded, it feels like an unnecessary cash grab. Should I really have to pay for a margarita? Food menu at Star Prestige is also additional pay. Come on Iberostar, just do it right!
The gym needs work and expansion. Too small an area with mediocre equipment that squeaks. I get it, not a lot of these guests want to excercise. But when we do, make it easy and comfortable.

The hotel had a great location for us, quiet, short way to the beach and also not far to the busy part of Santa Ponca. The service was really great, whether at the reception or at the pool. Also the rooms are really well equipped.
The pool was clean and from the deck chairs we had a nice view of the bay.
All in all we were very satisfied and will come back :)

It’s nice but outdated. I didn’t enjoy my room because the walls are extremely thin and would hear my entire floor coming home between 12-2 am waking me up. Also most of the pools and dining options are limited to prestige stay members so keep that in mind because I didn’t realize at booking. The one pool and buffet available for regular members was just ok. The access to the sea is a bit dangerous to get down to in my opinion

Fabulous Hotel

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel, it is an excellent hotel with great views, the main reason this is such a great hotel is the staff who are all excellent.

Love the no kids policy. This place has everything you need and you never need to leave the hotel to have an amazing relaxing holiday. This is our second time at this hotel and it’s such a joy to look forward to every year.

I had an amazing time at Iberostar Jardín del Sol. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The staff gave me the best recommendations to explore in Mallorca. Juanlo was the best bartender and remembered my drink orders from day 1 so there was no need to ask. The food at the buffet was great - serving caviar and lobster one night. I would highly recommend purchasing the Star Prestige all inclusive package as you get better access to pools, liquor, and bars.

Prekrasan hotel s predivnim pogledom. Lijepo uređen okoliš, lijep vanjski bazen i unutarnji. Osoblje na top razini. Dodijeljene sve VIP značajke za vrijeme boravka. Recepcija organizirala doručak samo za nas u 6:30h, jer smo trebali stići na avion.

Pools for VIP members only

During my 10 day stay in Spain we decided to ended at the Iberostar. By looking at the pool pictures we decided it was going to be our relax time before heading back. Do not book this hotel if you think you will get in in those pools. The nicer pools that show up are only for their VIP members. If I had known this I would’ve stayed at a different place for a cheaper price.

I feel completely lied to. Online this hotel looks amazing and the VIP amenities are supposed to be awesome. In reality the hotel is terrible. There are no VIP services and not worth the money.

The property was very clean and staff were excellent. Only booked the breakfast board which was excellent. Lots of choice of fresh fruit and iberia meats.
If you are renting a car, parking can be a challenge as it is only available on the street.Otger than that its a beautiful hotel in Mallorca.

One of the nicest and most under-rated resorts we’ve stayed in! Beautiful view overlooking the mountains and cliffs off into the ocean, the friendliest stay and stunning pool. Rooms are all suite style and huge, we can’t wait to come back here!
