We combined pool/beach and sightseeing vacation for a family including a 5 y.o. and that worked well for us. The pools and slides and entertainment were perfect for him. Can walk to the beach while stopping at numerous souvenir shops or restaurants on the way.
The buffet food was Ok but since we did not plan to be there all the day long, we did not do all inclusive. Local food was way better and tastier somewhere else. Noticed majority of the guests had the orange \"all-inclusive\" badges meaning they likely stayed on the property all the time? I would not do it unless you have kids under maybe 8 y.o. and not interested to see anything else on the island (which has lots of other exciting things to see and do!)
The room was generally comfy and very clean, but the kitchen stuff was very old. Cracked plastic on the kettle, rust on the fridge etc. I think this hotel could spend just a little bit to update fridge/stove/kettle/microwave in the rooms and that would go a long way.
Supermarket just a block away kitchen (even the old one :) ) made quick breakfasts very easy for us.
Tip for parking: enough free street parking just around the block near the supermarket. Had no safety concerns.
Long walk from the elevator to most of the rooms, with many corners making it difficult to move with your bags, just an FYI. Caution they wash the floor outside every morning and don't put any warnings! Out 5 y.o. fell the first morning, thanks god he was Ok.

Shows are amazing. Every evening they have entertainment , kids are amazed they want come back again. Buffet is small, not too much choice for an adults but for children is perfect, staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Firstly i had requsted a low down apartment due to my wifes ill health i was given top floor and the last apartment in the building, you have to walk two lenghts of the appartment blocks for nearest lift or continually walk up four flights of stairs the appartment was run down and no doors on the bedroom wardrobes, the cleaners ( if your lucky to see one ) 9 days i was here and saw the cleaner twice and had the towels changed 3 times, the appartment wasnt cleaned the whole time we were there i actually had to borrow next doors brush set to clean the apartment, food i dont know if im just being fussy but i usually eat it hot , unless your there bang on start of meals your food will be cold and not very good choices, breakfast same everyday as is lunch, then you have the staff and entertaintment i found all the staff great to get on with apart from the bar manager he is in the wrong job he is just plain nasty to adults and kids

Complete pain in the backside that the pool is only open 10-6 but closes for large spells of the day for the pirates to do their show. I know it's for entertainment but it's a nuicence when you are just trying to chill out and have a swim with your family

Final visit to Pirates Village - Wont ever go back
2nd visit here (last one in 2018) and hotel has gone downhill. Food-Mediocore and incredibly repetitive.. Artificial non-fresh juices, 1 option for yogurts every day \"bannana\" flavour. The chef on the eggs /grill area had the most hostile miserable face Ive ever seen. This is a kids/family hotel, but is unwelcoming. Management clearly non esistent, especially re housekeeping and the food/bar areas. We went all inclusive but I had to (self service) request cups at least 10 times during my stay as they had run out and nonody replenishing them. They were taken directly from the dishwasher so were warm to touch. Who puts a cold drink into a warm cup?? The slushy and soft drinks machines constantly covered in wasps so impossible for kids to use. There were daily fights for sunbeds/parasols. Theres maybe 15 parasols for the entire complex. Broken and chipped tiles in the kids pools so my children had cuts on 3 occasions. Our towels were only changed on request and our room only serviced once on day 4 of a 7 night stay. Unless you have very very low expectasions for your holiday, avoid this hotel at all costs. Management seemingly oblivious to the dreadful standards. If you check out at noon and need to stay in hotel until later in the day or afternoon, be aware that the water in the 'courtesy' shower is freezing cold. i.e take your shower in your room before you go. I told the receptionist and she just shrugged her shoulders and said thats the only shower they have post checkout.

Having stayed here about 15years prior I can say I still enjoyed my stay as much as the first. My only issue was the age of the kitchenette and it’s equipment. Whilst the room has had a makeover, the fridge, hob and cupboards had all seen better days!

Just got back from an amazing half term break. Fantastic, pirate themed hotel. We stayed all-inclusive and the food was excellent -lots of choice and really good quality. The staff really make the hotel particularly the entertainment team. Daily shows which thoroughly entertained us and our children. Would love to return.

We had one of the worst rooms, couldn’t see the stage from our room and we booked months in advance. The pools aren’t heated so swimming was minimal. Nothing to really do within walking distance of the hotel. Food was edible that’s about it.

Good little stay to start our holiday. Staff very friendly, really geared up to make the kids stay as enjoyable as possible. Most of hotel was dressed up for Halloween and looked really good, little bits like turning the water red. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a break for their kids, not sure if I could handle a week there tho but that’s just me!! One last tip the pastry shop just up from the hotel was amazing!!

The hotel is fantastic for families with small children. Rooms are clean and modern, good sized and comfy beds.

kids club & staff, entertainment/shows, swimming pools/slides, location all excellent but reception staff are rude with no customer service skills, they are not friendly, accommodating or helpful & very miserable! hotel very noisy & rowdy, dont go there if you want peace & quiet & want to relax but good for young kids! my 5 yr old loved the kids clubs & shows & my 10 yr old loved the swimming pools & slides & they both made lots of friends! location excellent & close to everything, big cheap supermarket close by with a rotisserie/deli with lovely roast chicken, paella etc. apartments dont have enough kitchen equipment/utensils for cooking your own food & you have to ask reception for extra items eg pans which take ages to come! apartments are small as well! dont go there if you want a ground floor apartment & you havent booked with jet2 holidays as they have been allocated all the ground floor apartments!

Great entertainment,shame about the lack of sunbed
The entertainment team are fantastic as are the pirate shows. My children loved the kids club & the pool with all the slides. The lifeguards were on the ball making sure the pools were safe. The rooms were modern, clean & comfortable. We had an awful room number 50, so noisy right next to the kitchen & bar area after numerous complaints they moved us to a much nicer room on the third floor but not until day 5. Not enough sun beds for everyone by 6.30am people were reserving sun lounger spaces with their towels & by 9.10 you were lucky to find a sunbed. The large majority are reserved & only used for small periods leaving the rest of the guests on the floor pondering why management let it continue. I couldn't recommend it for that alone & for when we talked to reception about being kept awake by kitchen staff whilst we were in room 50 he told us in so many words to go & talk to them ourselves because it was pointless him doing it!

One week stay, October 2015. Hotel looks great the pirate theme works really well. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the pirates are fantastic great costumes and took time to interact with the kids. Always happy to pose for photos etc. Shows were good ( some of the sound effects are loud and may scare some of the younger ones ) Kids clubs was very good our kids loved Jasmine and Marta ( hope I've spelled your names right ) Whilst the pools we're great they are too cold, two lifeguards we're always on duty.
The beach was close and there was plenty of local shops / supermarkets close by, good transport links by bus or taxi to visit other local attractions.
We went for the all inclusive package, the food was OK wine, beer certain spirits all included. Some cocktails were also free but these came out of a machine and are best avoided.

Great family hotel, All inclusive was above average pleasantly impressed, could do with more lifts only 2 for the whole of the hotel and one kept breaking down and could do with more toilets within the hotel, apart from that service was great, entertainment was good and the cleaners worked non-stop.

After seeing a kid nearly drownI feel must warn parents to keep an eye on their kids in the big pool ! It drops sharply too 2m. More could be done to make safe I feel. Even after the incident the lifeguards were not always on post either?

Great holiday at pirates village
Stayed with our 2 daughters 4 and 6 and they loved it the pool and the shows were fantastic all round great holiday would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Pirate's Village. The hotel was in a good location. We were self catering but found that basic items were missing from the room such as toaster and dustpan and brush (my kids are messy eaters). We dined out all evenings in the main resort and would recommend Fat Sam's and The block house.
The pools at the hotel were brilliant, well manned by a minimum of two lifeguards and well maintained. However the shenanigans of securing your sunbed at the pool was annoying.
The children's entertainers worked very hard and the majority of the entertainment was good and allowed participation by both kids and parents.
The biggest let down for us was the food at the snack bar. It took an eternity to arrive (despite the fact the majority of guests were fully inclusive) and was of very poor quality. Our pizza was not cooked and still had the plastic on it. The chips were soggy too. Wouldn't encourage me to pay for all inclusive. Needless to say we only used it twice. There is a fairly decent supermarket directly across the road and the main resort has both McDonald's and Burger King.

Fab holiday for younger children.
Great hotel for younger children maybe up to 8-10 yrs, fantastic pools and not far from the beach. Stayed self catering, there was a supermarket right opposite the hotel which was resonalably priced which was ideal. There wasn't a microwave in the room which I required but one was brought quickly with no fuss. Pool area does get very busy and full but there are plenty of beds.

stayed here self catering with 6 year old, had read previous reviews as I usually do when booking a holiday and took note but not to heart the criticisms. the food (we had one day at the hotel) was ok. not 1st class but you are not paying 1st class prices; you get what you pay for which is a great little complex with enough pools and entertainment to keep kids occupied and happy, nice staff, good facilities, short stroll to beach (great) and cafes and shops :) :)

The hotel was perfect for families with kids. There was a kids club every morning and afternoon and also a kids disco run most evenings along with other family entertainment such as a caberet act, magician, comedian etc. The pool area was great. There was a lifeguard there every day so felt comfortable giving the kids a bit more freedom than usual. There was a small toddlers play area although very rarely used during our stay as the weather was so hot. We only stayed on a room only basis so can't comment on the food. The room itself was basic but clean and the cleaners changed linen and towels every second day. That was all we needed though as we spent most of the time out at either the pool, water park, beach, restaurant, boat trip etc. That was probably the best holiday we've had as a family. Can't fault it.

Kinderpool sieht super aus, war aber eiskalt. Zimmer sind grundsätzlich nicht schlecht, jedoch sehr abgewohnt und leider hat der Gast vor uns im Zimmer geraucht und zwar nicht nur mal eine Zigarette. Die beiden Räume waren komplett vernebelt. Wir konnten leider erst am zweiten Tag in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. Gesamteindruck: außen hui - innen pfui. Schade.

Lo peor la limpieza de las habitaciones, en cuatro días no limpiaron la habitación, se limitaban a hacer la cama del dormitorio y ya está. Pero en general, la experiencia muy buena, mis hijos se han quedado con ganas de volver
