Fairly clean room in a modern hotel with excellent staff. Instructions for the room's air con would be helpful. Breakfast was OK although you had to make your own toast and cup of tea. I wouldn't pay the ₤25 asked of visitors. Plenty of places to get a good breakfast for half that.

Room clean spacious and good amenities. Access to fitness club was great apart from the only adult time was at 7 pm til 8 pm. Using the pool at other times was difficult as there was supposed to be lane swimming but this had kids swimming classes in and the main part of the pool had a family area but this took up most of the pool! Gym facilities were good and not too busy first thing in the morning. Staff were very helpful at reception and in the club. This is our second stay at the hotel and would stay there again.

What an amazing hotel. Everything very clean & modern. We only stayed for one night but would definitely use again. The staff were all lovely, smiling & very helpful with our onward journey. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very well presented & tasty, maybe slighty over priced. Cocktails were reasonable and well made. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay!

Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Shower was amazing. Outside area was nice. The breakfast had a wide variety of breakfast options, but allergen info was slightly unclear. The swimming pool was lovely, with a hot tub, sauna and steam room. Very quiet all round. Drinks prices are very high.

It’s a two floor hotel with no elevator. So I did not like that. They did not want us to carry our bags or herself to the room and instead we had to get a person to carry them up the stairs for us who we then had to tip. Otherwise, the place was beautiful. There is a wedding reception going on, we had dinner at the restaurant and it was wonderful. The room was excellent. Updated air-conditioning and heat system bathroom was wonderful with a walk-in shower with both a rain showerhead and a regular handle showerhead.

Overall an enjoyable stay

Arrival was slightly challenging in that they charged us £31 more than the booking platform quoted and even after sending evidence by email, they still didn’t fix it (we had to have another conversation about it at check out in order to get refunded). But all staff were very pleasant, especially in the bar/restaurant area. We were given drinks vouchers to celebrate our 10yr anniversary which was a kind gesture. Bed was very comfortable; shower was brilliant (though I do miss the days when hotels had baths); leisure facilities were clean and functional if a little small and at times, crowded (despite needing to book a slot to use them). Breakfast spread was plentiful, lots of options, but it would be worth someone looking at why there are so many flies in the coffee station area. There was a wedding on the Saturday so very loud music coming out of the function room into the bar area in the evening, but it’s a hotel in summer, what do you expect? Plus our room was situated far away so only an issue while dining/drinking. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Basically, I enjoyed my stay here, and I have been going to this hotel on and off, for about 20 years, when it was a Holiday Inn. This time, the Reception staff, as always, were amazing, very friendly and helpful. However, one of the restaurant staff reprimanded us, for sitting at a table for 4, when we were a party of 2, for breakfast one morning, which I thought a bit rude, when they had previously directed us to one 2 person table next to an infant, playing music and noisy games on a tablet, and another table in direct sunlight

Ban dress pillows from bedding!

Dress pillows should be banned from hotels. Otherwise a lovely stay with very nice and professional staff.
Dress pillows don't have washable pillows so having these resting against freshly changed pillows are disgusting. I dont want some elses fart muffler or supportng aid from a positon of the Karma Sutra from a one night stand on my bed. On a positve. The staff are lovely the bed was comfy. The shower is usable for anybody under 6ft. Definitely stay here again.

It was all very well organised with a very good breakfast selection.
The only thing at breakfast was, its now so very difficult to reach the cereals etc & then there's the big thick wooden spoons which are awkward to use & not even any where to put your bowls!! So not at all easy & I'm not short or infirm!! It definitely needs a risk assessment & with staff trying it out?

The comfiest bed we have ever slept in - from the matress to the pillows & quilt it was all so good we didn't want to out if it! Shower was lovely and aircon in the room was definitely a huge plus point. Friendly service and food was good at breakfast too. Room and bathroom was cleaned to a high standard. Didn't use the pool so not sure but sure it's lovely too

The stay would have been near perfect, however the room doors slam so hard they make you jump! You can actually feel them slamming, so they wake you if people are coming in late or leaving early. Other issue is if you chose to stay because they have a pool, as i did, you need to bring your own padlock for the lockers!! Who carrys their own padlock!?

It would be helpful if on the website it said what kind of bathroom you had with each room. I booked a twin (for myself and my Dad) and it had a bath. I'm disabled and can't climb over the side of the bath, the double and family rooms have a shower. This makes no sense to me, why not have a mix of both? I'm sure there are couples and families who would prefer a bath. Other than that everything was great.

Since this hotel changed from Holidays Inn to Voco. Rooms are much better. Beds are comfortable and clean.
However, customer service at Resturant remained same if not worst. Staff is lacking training or nobody told them that customer do not have to ask 4 times for bills and if you are busy you need to tell you will get someone. In this case she was not busy either others. Too busy chit chat running around and try to look busy.

There is a major refurbishment being carried out which, if we had known we would have delayed our booking. Our room was excellent as newly done but the restaurant etc had been moved to a small room. The jacuzzi was out of order in the spa which was disappointing. However the staff were helpful and pleasant.

We stop here frequently. We have room 102 that has been refurbished this stay.
The room is excellent and value for money one could not expect more.
Our personal request was dealt with immediately we requested a lighter weight duvet because the super king size is far too heavy.
A point to note the heating system is noisy compared with the previous stays here.

Friendly nice staff, dining area, reception etc very nice. Room good, bathroom a bit dated, all very clean though. Fridge is a nice touch to have in the room as well which I find handy. There are never enough milk sachets for tea/coffee etc so I buy a pint of milk to put in the fridge. Pool and sauna nice, but the whole spa area looks a little tired but all perfectly serviceable. Nice to have in a hotel.

My mother and I stayed in one of the twin rooms. We where greeted at reception by Gracie, who was delightful, allowing us to check in earlier than expected.
Later on the evening Josseb, was very helpful in explaining and downloading Uber onto my mobile, no task or request was ever to much trouble.
The dining, again all the staff are so happy and helpful, my mother was made to feel very comfortable and special.
Our twin room was gorgeous, fantastic bed, crisp white linen, a fridge and safe too. All very clean and comfortable. We will definitely recommended to all our friends and family, and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone. June.

When I booked the stay, I requested and paid for a room with a queen bed.
Unfortunately, we were given a room with a double bed. It may not seem to be much of a problem, however the extra width of a queen bed is the difference between a restless sleep and a comfortable sleep.

Because of the hard floors and surfaces it was very noisy in the dining room. Especially when the little children ran about screaming and enjoying the echo of the sound of their voices. My wife found it very disturbing as she has hearing aids which enhanced the sound and made the dining experience less enjoyable.

Fab staff at this lovely clean hotel. The room facilities could be more up to date, the mattress was very hard. But you can’t please everybody.

Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. But no butter and the bacon was only just cooked. Same with the sausages. Good eggs and bread.
