I’ve lost count how many times I’ve stayed it’s so good this hotel it was my wife’s second time staying here she and I agree the staff are great they went above and beyond for us they are so welcoming as soon as you arrive someone helps you with your bags which is exceptional even when we were changing rooms they were helpful they came and did everything for us they even gave me a birthday card which was a nice touch the rooms are brilliant huge beds cleans rooms and great shower power

A good modern hotel with friendly staff and a convenient location. However, the experience was let down by a significant additional fee added to my airport taxi fare. When I questioned the driver, he advised it was a hotel-imposed charge, despite a taxi rank being located nearby. Very disappointing.

My stay here was amazing, the room was clean and was well presented. The gym was very big and had everything that I needed, and spa area was very pleasant. I recently stayed at Lionel Hotel Istanbul and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a good location and offers decent service, but there were some issues that impacted my stay.

While the staff was accommodating, there were cleanliness concerns, including dirty shoe prints in the bathroom and a hair found between the bed sheet and blanket. Housekeeping seemed inconsistent and could improve attention to detail. Additionally, the bathroom ventilation fan in my first room wasn’t working, and the bed configuration in that room caused disturbances due to sliding beds.

On the positive side, the hotel did upgrade our room twice, and when we requested smaller pillows at 4 a.m., they responded. However, service was sometimes slow—for example, it took over two hours to receive drinking water after requesting it.

Overall, this hotel offers medium-quality service. If you come with moderate expectations, it can still be a comfortable stay. I would recommend it, but not if you’re expecting top-tier luxury or flawless service.

Best Hotel of My Trip – Exceptional Service!

This is hands down the best hotel I stayed at during my trip! The service was absolutely amazing—I’ve never experienced service like this in Turkey. The valet parking team and security staff were incredibly nice, respectful, and spoke English very well. The service felt like more than 5 stars, and they were extremely generous!

The room was very clean and spacious, making it totally worth the money. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from Taksim and Galata Port, but it wasn’t an issue for me since we had a car. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!

Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lionel hotel, it had parking and friendly staff. Despite a slight misunderstanding at check in all was resolved by the hotel manager Zara, even giving us a discounted upgrade and free breakfast for a day. It was comfortable and the hotel is fairly up to a good standard, better than many 5 star hotels in Istanbul we have stayed in.

The only improvement that could be made is the charges involved in bringing up certain things to the room which should be free at a 5 star hotel.

The spa facilities were great and the rooms were always cleaned to a good standard, thanks to the cleaning team! Would definitely recommend

Alot of headache and stress with regards to vip access and room upgrade. Felt antagonised for requesting room upgrade and being told different things. I was upgraded by guest relations eventually but only after numerous calls requests between hotel and Expedia and constant back and forth. Very exhausting and spoiled my holiday. This has never happened at any other hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the experience. First off, the check-in process was a nightmare. It took forever, and the staff seemed completely disorganized. Poor English as well.. By the time I finally got to my room, I was already frustrated.

But the worst was yet to come. The room itself was far from clean. The housekeepers clearly didn’t do their job properly—dust was visible on surfaces, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in days. To make matters worse, the room was full of mosquitoes, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep.

For the price they charge, I expected much better. Honestly, this place feels more like a 3-star hotel, and even that might be generous. It’s way too expensive for nothing special. I would definitely not recommend staying here.

Only minus is the area (lots of mechanic shops, and warehouses, etc.) There isn't much to do on foot. But with a car, you can get to everything you need to in less than 10-15 minutes.

The hotel is in a slightly industrial type area affording a good opportunity to see work and bustle in a non-tourist environment but still with many local restaurants to hand. Istanbul library is a short walk (we'll worth a visit for it's community spaces) and T4 metro/tram line station is also very close by. They serve a good breakfast and we all enjoyed swimming in the pool.

3/5 for a 4 night stay with family.

I would rate this hotel 3/5. Our first impression was not so great. The first night we arrived we were placed in a room that wreaked of smoke. I had insisted on having a smoke free room as I had 2 kids with me. When I notified the front desk reception, the gentleman said he understood my concern but did nothing about it. He even lied and said it was a smoke free room. I informed him it’s not smoke free as it smells very bad and my kids are coughing from inhaling the smoke smell. He said he didn’t have any available rooms and to spend the night and they will give us something in the morning. He sent a humidifier into our rooms, which made the smell even worse. Since we had no other accommodations we needed up staying the night.
In the morning, I reminded reception again and they ended up giving us a room by the afternoon. The new room they gave us clearly had no smoking signage everywhere (which means the last room wasn’t).
The hotel itself is very nice and clean. Breakfast included was very nice as well, lots of options. The area the hotel was in was very dingy. Our view from our window was overlooking a dumpster. Lots of car repair shops in the area. It was quite far from the city Center, but on our second day we figured out where to use the metro and it wasn’t so bad. Lots of walking.
If you’re there for business or a one night stay it’s fine- I don’t recommend for family who are there for sight seeing or vacation.

On Arrival I was greeted by the receptionist a gentleman named Koray & I must say he was extremely helpful he helped me with all of my questions and inquiries.
Koray was very helpful, knowledgable & extremely resourceful.
Koray assisted me with connecting to the Wi-Fi he explained the timings of all the facilities and there locations the restaurant the cigar the gym and the swimming pool.
Koray was extremely professional and very good at his job so thank you Koray.

At the cafe I met a lady called Damla,
Damla had great knowledge about the city and it’s navigation and public transport just like Koray.
Damla had exceptional customer service skills she was very professional,
Very helpful & very friendly these 2 members of staff went above and beyond I can’t thank them enough they made my stay extremely please take so thank you Koray & Damla.

Now about the hotel.

The lobby is to die for it is huge clean & exceptional 10/10
There is a split off the restaurant is all the way at the end of the lobby it has great staff great food and drink selections there is a variety for everyone and it’s very good food 10/10
On the other end of the lobby is the cafe a lady called Damla was running the cafe during my stay and it was exceptionally clean ,
Everything was laid out perfectly and neatly the coffee and juices were subliminal 10/10 well done Damla you can be very proud !!!
The sports facilities are brilliant there’s something for everyone 10/10 I will be back very soon!

The hotel service was 4/10 except the Manager Ekrem (if i remember the name correctly). He helped me to get a reliable taxi especially when I am a foreigner in the country but the hotel staff could have done a better job. There was no plug to charge my phone as my wall plug is from the States and wouldn’t fit in. Upon asking the hotel, they says they only sell it and cannot charge my phone. Later Ekrem, helped me to charge it to book taxi.

Great reason to stay out of the historic districts

Gym, pool, and sauna facilities are excellent. The gym in particular is deserving of high praise with lots of space and a massive variety of modern machines. Spacious rooms, only approx 30 TL taxi/Uber ride to Forum Istanbul mall. Airport shuttle service isn't cheap but it is well worth the reliability and convemience (comfortable Mercedes van, not shared). Hotel is less than 5 min away by foot to Tuna Caddesi, an avenue with many affordable amenities.

I love the Hotel it had spa swimming pool steam room so its quite good the Metro was not far you can walk it 15 min to get to metro. The thing I did not like is I asked them 3 times for iron board to be put in my room they took 3 days to get it and second at night I asked them for Scissors they said we cant give you scissors because they gave it for someone who had a weeding and in the hotel they only had 1 scissors and I told them when they finish from using the scissors to bring up to my room and they did not so in the morning I went and asked for it again and they still did not get the scissors from the people who was using it.

We stayed at this property and everything was going well till we were leaving , the bellboy did not place our camerabag in our vehicle and it was left behind . We called them on our way to the airport because we didnt have time to go back they sent with a cab which they made us pay and found that someone had stolen our very expensive earbuds from the bag! We are still fighting with them now about this and they are not being cooperative.

Shower is bad, sink keeps switching hot n cold back n forth it doesn’t stay on the same temperature even if u don’t touch it. On breakfast the water and juices machine is so terrible I kept waiting in line for a single cup of water for 5 minutes because the machine is slowly poring into the glass, and I told the staff to fix it but they just ignored me same with the shower and sink they completely ignored me. This hotel is so bad I will never think about getting back to it!

but unfortunately the location of the hotel, there is no restaurants or shops near the hotel, you need to get a taxi every time u want to buy food for example, i have 4 kid's and all the time they needed something to eat, we had just a breakfast in the hotel.

The hotel is okay for 5 stars hotel. However, the manger has no perceptive of managing the hotel or the quality of comfort the guests are looking for. There are many issue that need to be reformed. Cleanliness is important especially now with covid and omicron. The hotel stuff are friendly however when it comes to something bad they escape responsibility and tend to blame each other. The only individual who is working hard is Ekreme which is helpful and very friendly.

The hotel is new, clean and modern. The rooms are large and comfortable. The reception staff is very friendly. Breakfast is nothing special. The area in which the hotel is located is not nice at all and is far from the city center.
I believe that in the 21st century it is not normal to have separate saunas for women and separate ones for men. In the so-called spa of the hotel family can not be together. The spa staff is not friendly and they are rude. I had the feeling that I was in the Middle Ages.
