Hotel was stylish & spotlessly clean. Modern and neutral in aesthetic and had good amenities. Staff were all friendly & helpful.
Only very minor gripes was there was a noticeable hum in our room from some system, didn’t bother me but did my partner a bit.

This is a very comfortable hotel with a great outlook. The grounds open onto the beach. We've stayed before and the hotel didn't reach such a high standard this time. This was mainly to do with the food an drink in offer. Firstly the coffee machine is not great. The drinks it produces aren't hot enough. Also the milky coffee options are artificially creamy. It's just not a great coffee machine and there are no other options. Also the orange juice had a slightly fizzy quality one morning like it had fermented. The eggs are cooked to a reasonable standard but the omelette was a bit rubbery and the fried eggs slightly undercooked. We ate in the hotel one evening and the patatas bravas weren't as crispy as before - they were a bit soggy. The chicken dish sounded great but in reality it was just a lot of chicken on a plate. The cooking is just a little off.
We explored the local area a bit more this time and we don't recommend Castelldefels. It's very modern and not very attractive. The beach is the best bit and that gets less salubrious the further away from Gava you get.
We recommend this hotel as an airport stopover and possibly an out-of-town base to visit Barcelona.

Overall my family and I had a wonderful experience. We flew in from Mallorca and arrived at the hotel before 9am. The gentleman at the front desk (sorry forgot his name) was very helpful and allowed us to check in!! We stayed in room 216, very clean and spacious with a nice view of the pool. Staff was very polite and helpful, the pool was a nice size. The pool bar could use more options. The hotel is right across from the beach, you can take a nice walk along the boardwalk and reach some restaurants. We would stay here again.

When I walk in the room I found a women underwear in the room from previous customer. I was check in around 3pm, after I came back from dinner the room still HOT, contact the front desk they said they do not have any room to exchange for me, but I can open the window instead. Continue , I went to took shower, however there is no body wash and shampoo. And then, later on at night when I went to bathroom, there is a cockroach in the bathroom..

Really enjoyed my stay at this property. From the incredibly beautiful grounds, nice and clean interior, doacious rooms, access to the beach, yummy food and pleasant, remarkable, helpful staff. The only criticism I have is that loud slamming of the room doors - of course it is up to guests to be courteous and guide the door for a soft close; one could hear room doors slamming throughout the day.

Excellent on the beach hotel.

Just an excellent hotel with the beach (incredible beach) a minute away. Terrific, friendly and very helpful staff at front desk, in the restaurant and those who clean the rooms.
For those who want a restful vacation by the sea it would be extremely difficult to find a better place.
It is about a 45 euro taxi fare to downtown Barcelona, so maybe not for those who want to be in the heart of the city.
But for a relaxing holiday with great food it was superb.

The pool area was beautiful and you’re 50 feet from the Mediterranean. The hotel is extremely clean and nice, and the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel breakfast buffet is good value.
The biggest complaint is the hotel room’s coffee machine was clearly removed and I was unable to turn on the air conditioner. Thankfully, the outside temp was low enough that I could open the room at night to cool down the room.

Only 8 minutes away from the airport !

Really very pleased with this hotel it was perfect for our needs which was a goods nights sleep and a hearty breakfast and then we were out all day. It’s located in a quiet and posh neighbourhood. A big plus is the beach is at the doorstep of the hotel which was extremely enjoyable for a walk and also there are several fancy restaurants nearby, we went to Catalina Gavà Mar and I highly recommend it. Overall great service at this property from the friendly staff and a very neat and tasteful accommodation. Oh and one more thing there is free parking available right on the street.

No AC in room! Avoid

It is a lovely property with access to the beach. The staff are great and drinks were tasty. Definitely try the sangria. As an American on business travel we like to sleep in certain conditions and that is where this hotel lacks. I was traveling in March and the hotel had not turned on the AC yet to the hotel. Granted it was 65-75 during the day, my room stayed a warm 75-80 at night. If you are like me and like to sleep cool then this is not your hotel and avoid this place. I suffered two nights with a US based brand AC by Marriott just to have the same issues I would of had at a local branded hotel.

But room walls prefab doors with no self closer so banged constantly 30 doors in a row all banging one after the other on each of the two floors. Making the walls shake. Great outdoor poolside bar which the staff were too lazy to open even on the weekends when the hotel was full. NOT up to Marriott Std

Unfortunately the location of this property was very inconvenient for access into Barcelona. It was difficult to get a taxi, the cost was very high. I had hoped that there would be a shuttle bus given this is a Marriott owned hotel. The hotel was understaffed and the general areas around the restaurant and pool were left with old glasses etc. The staff at the front desk were very good and helpful but at peak times there was a long queue. The rooms were well cleaned but lacked basic facilities such as a kettle, iron and ironing board. There was a specific issue with the feather pillows which smelt horrendous but was quickly resolved, to the credit of the front desk. The bedding was very basic, with the bed made up without a duvet. Whilst there was a duvet in the cupboard it didn’t have a cover. Overall I chose this hotel because it was cheaper than those options closer to the city, however the taxis were so expensive that I ended up spending more overall than I would have. The evening food options were extremely limited and the main redeeming feature was the buffet breakfast which was actually very good and a highlight of each day.

There are some restaurants within walking distance & more just a taxi ride away. The hotel doesn’t sit directly on the beach, but it’s less than a minute’s walk away. We stayed during the off season, so some of the areas, like the pool bar and restaurant, seemed sparsely staffed. Overall, the staff was helpful & friendly, nice property, clean rooms, up to date decor, nice sized rooms. Reasonable rates & close to the airport!

Good hotel but not excellent. It had basic toiletries but no conditioner or room safe. The room is nice and spacious with a comfortable bed. The service is excellent...everyone was really nice. The food however is horrible. There is no flavor and lukewarm at best. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Definitely impressed with the AC Gava Mar. I arrived at 730 am on Thursday and they had a room ready for me. The hotel staff goes above and beyond. The outside grounds by the pool are immaculate. My room was clean and comfortable. The only things I didn't like, 1st hotel I've ever been to with no safe in the room, the food menu was limited and the wifi was slow.
