I arrived late night and left early morning so I can´t say much about the hotel other than the room was small but clean and warm and the hotel is close to Casteldefels beach and 10/15 minutes from the airport. Convenient for me and good value for money.

Check in was at another hotel no problem, late check in tried to shower wasn’t any hot water in the night or day time. Wasn’t terrible but wouldn’t book again. Staff is friendly and helpful but that’s only good thing.

Insane price for an awful experience

The check-in experience was appalling. After having already booked, I received notification that I must check in at a different location and then when I got to that location, I was given a key that did not work and after having hauled all my luggage from A to point B I then had to haul it all back again to tell them the key didn’t work for them to give me another key and haul my luggage back again. The threshold stripping was loose at the top of the stairs, causing a safety hazard and was coming out between the bedroom and the bathroom. The tiles were coming off the wall.

Check in was difficult because the address is sit 1. The check in was at sits 2 it is 10mins walk from one to the other. My mobility is not good the walk was difficult.
Crack in basin in room. Everything was old and shabby.
Asked for extra pillow not available.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. Very inconvenient check-in, we stay inotel 139 but have to check-in at main hotel 153 which is 5 min walking. Hotel 139 has no elevator then guests have to carry their luggages by stairs.The rooms are too small and no shampoo and shower gel

I arrived and there was no one at the reception. I had to get the key from another hotel up the road.
There was no hot water for tea or coffee available.
At night, it was very noisy and I could not sleep well. Also I got bitten by something on my leg in two places.
Overall it was very disappointing experience.

I came in late at night, single girl, at 11.30pm, I was told to go to hotel 153 to 'check in' when I questioned this, the desk check in clerk was unbelievably rude and insisted that he'd emailed me telling me to go to hotel 153, when I asserted that I had not received any such communication he told me I either went there or found other accomodation, at that time at night! .. its a horrible unsafe place, the management need to train staff on customer service, and get rid of staff who do not have innate public service skills,.. AVOID THIS HOTEL AND ITS PARTNERS LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Not Real Hotel

This is falsely advertised as a hotel. Real hotels have a staffed front desk. This one was affiliated with a hotel 2 blocks away where we picked up a key and had to walk back. The entry was dimly lit and it took awhile for us to find the key sensor. The lobby reeked of cigarettes. There was no elevator so we had to lug our bags up a staircase. The room was dismal and in need of repair. We slept little due to a poor bed and a low mechanical sound that drummed away all night.

Did not have a good experience with staff. I only stayed here because it was close to the airport and I just needed one night before I flew out the next day. Staff offered no early check-in despite the room being ready and had us just sit in the lobby lobby that is in an entirely different building than the one in our room was in. Check-in took an absurd amount of time for no reason. Not friendly staff

I am very disappointed in this hotel and Expedia for false advertising
This is not a hotel people it is a hostel!
I finally arrived after 7 hours or travelling and had to walk 2 blocks there and back with my luggage up and down stairs to check in as it’s in a different location than the actual hotel! That was not advertised and for hotel prices it was loud my AC didn’t work my TV didn’t work it was basically a dorm with separate bedrooms I was woken up at 1:30 by people arriving the location is very nice but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

The property doesn’t have any reception or staff, that is managed by hotel 153 which is a 2 min walk along the same road. You can use all the usual facilities at 153. It’s very near the beach, and bus stops for travelling

Didn’t like having to walk 3 blocks with luggage after checking in. Didn’t like that the WIFI didn’t work. Especially didn’t like that this hotel didn’t understand that a mistake had been made in the booking and REFUSED to refund monies to an elderly lady on a fixed income….charged her $506 for 1 nights stay in a tiny, but very clean room

I loved this place all around, though don't expect the room to be fancy, because it isn't. But it IS well maintained, properly equipped, and comfortable. The wifi did NOT work the entire time I was there (it would barely connect), and I was next to one of the access points on the second floor. The biggest complain I had was housekeeping staff banging doors every morning around 6 to 7 am... c'mon lady, can we extend quiet hours until at least 8 am? The bar/cafeteria area was also never staffed. Other than that, I really enjoyed the place. I would recommend it if you're looking for a cheap room in an accessible area with lots of amenities.

We only stayed for one night and due to the ferry from Italy to Barcelona breaking down we did not reach the hotel until midnight and left at 9 o clock the next morning but what we saw of it was very comfortable and would certainly stay there again for longer

Arrived 1am jet lag from US. It was a noisy street, but cozy little hotel was relaxing. Very small room and not great quality bedding, but it did the job for a 2 night stay. I spent most of m time in city of Barsolona so room wasn't a priority. If I was looking for a comfortable place to rest, I would give it a lower ratting. All in all you get what you pay for

I would not go back to this hotel. The rooms are tiny, beds very uncomfortable and they were 2 small single beds pushed together. Not fit for a couple. There was a horrible smell in the bathroom everyday. The lights were turned off in the hall which I found very dangerous when we were trying to find our room, especially with the stairs. I have to give huge credit to all the staff. We stayed nine days there and every member of staff were lovely and accommodating. The hotel has a little bar where you can sit out and have a drink which is one of the good features of the hotel, and it was a pleasure to sit down and watch the football on the TV. Overall a hotel with lovely and friendly staff but I would not return

Why is this hotel rated 1-star????

When I think of a 1-star hotel, I imagine having to sleep with one eye open, in fear for my safety. While the rooms are no-frill, the hotel is lovely. It is clean, with helpful staff, and the common areas are very inviting and comfortable. There is air conditioning, wifi and a flat screen tv in the room. There's a plethora of restaurants nearby, and the beach is only a couple of blocks away. The hotel is about 30mins from Barcelona. This was fine for me, as Barcelona was extremely busy and overwhelming. I was soooo happy to return to this quiet beach-side town after a long day in Barcelona. If you like the beach, quiet evenings, good food and cheap drinks - you'll enjoy your stay here!

The host and staff were so kind and helpful during our stay. They made sure we had everything we needed and allowed for us to leave our belongings prior to check in time while we toured the city. When considering how we hope to visit Barcelona again, we will definitely stay at Hotel 139 and not in the main part of Barcelona. We felt so safe and looked after during our stay. The bus stop is directly in front of the aim lobby and traveling around was so easy. The café at Hotel 139 was delicious and the drinks were amazing. I can not recommend a better place to visit when traveling to this region of Spain. Excellent service and value!!

This hotel is lovely if you want to experience Barcelona but don’t want to pay the high prices of hotels in central. Has a bus straight to the centre a few streets away and a bus stop on the way back right outside. There is plenty to do outside of the hotel, loads of bars and restaurants. The lady on reception was lovely and tells you exactly how to get to Barcelona and hands you a map of all the recommended places.

Great hotel run by friendly staff. The Kitchen is small, but the menu of the day is good quality and value for money.

Hotels in Barcelona can be super expensive when there are big events such as the Mobile World Congress. I selected Hotel 139 as it was some distance from Fira. Public transport links from the Hotel to Fira is good.

If I come back to Barcelona for any reason, Hotel 139 will be my first choice.

You get what you pay for...

Positive: Although the staff spoke very little English, they were really helpful and kind. Bed was comfy.

Negative: Room was a bit smelly, blinds took a big struggle to pull up, curtains were really dirty with strange marks on them, pubic hair was found on bedside table, tacky radiator screaming for a lick of paint, shower mouldy, I was itchy all night...Only slept 2 short hours...

We decided to move the next day.

So really, you get what you pay for. It is a one star hotel and maybe only my expectations were too high, I don't know...

The primary drawback was the extremely small size of the room which made it challenging to negotiate, as there was no place for luggage and the closet door hit the bed making it impossible to fully open. Also, no night table on one side so had to put thi gs o the flòor. One the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and great pillows. The bath was new and well appointed. People were nice and helpful. Easy walking distance to water and great beach for swimming.

Overall, the stay was pleasant and comfortable. We only stayed one night due to a one-day layover to catch an afternoon flight the next day. This turned out to be an excellent location both to the airport and beach. This is a residential area with quite a bit of tourism as well, and things seem to be pretty near the pedestrian restaurant strip and on the beach.

A small thing but worth noting- the check-out time listed online at Expedia is 12:30. We were packing up and about to leave our room when we were informed we needed to be out by noon. Perhaps this could be updated on Expedia or clearly communicated to hotel guests so that they aren't surprised.

Great for a beach or city visit

It is a great hotel for anyone wanting to either spend time on the beautiful beach or take a trip into the city. The train station is about a 20min walk from the hotel, and the beach is about 10-15min. There are several nice bars and restaurants along the strip near the beach.

Hotel 139 - budget traveller's dream

Hotel 139 doesn't pretend to be something it's not. I was surprised at its having a one star rating, as the location and service deserves much better. Because of a cheap deal, we were given what was probably the smallest room nearest to the common area, which meant the room wasn't very soundproof. Tiny bathroom, but we hadn't expected luxury for the ridiculous price we paid. So we ended up being extremely happy with Hotel 139. Airco worked perfectly, wi-fi worked on the whole, breakfast was fresh, coffee great, all three bar/desk staff absolutely fantastic, beds and towels changed daily. So no complaints. Dated decor in the room wasnt a problem as it was both clean and we only used the space to sleep. Location is brilliant. Cost €26 for taxi to the airport (sept 2016), beach 5m away with beach chairs (5€/day) and a wide range of restaurants catring to all tastes and budgets. 5m to bus stop taking you to Barcelona (bus 94 takes you there much more quickly than the 95), and 96 into Castelldefels town. All three drop you off on the hotel doorstep. Wonderful budget place to stay, totally recommended to people wanting relaxation, the opportunity to find their own way around, and friendly comfort at a low price.

I had a really nice stay at Hotel139. My room was very clean and was cleaned nicely each day. The staff were friendly and professional, and the hotel felt safe. I was having some trouble with my adapter as it did not fit into the wall socket, and the staff worked really hard to find an adapter that would match what I had to make it work! The hotel was well located near the beach and lots of restaurants were a short walk away.

Great comfy hotel

This is a clean great hotel. The hotel staff are so welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is no more than a five minute walk to the beach and there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Its in a great location. 40mins walk to the train station that takes you straight into the city. I cannot recommend hotel 139 enough and I hope to return here soon.

The Hotel did not make a good impression when they forgot about our booking. They did sort this out with another hotel in the chain but not a great start. The hotel is a long way from the first train station on the main line from the airport but less far from the 2nd station (it is also an easier route). Room was nice but small. Lack of breakfast included felt a bit cheap but it wasn't the end of the world. 139 is a nice hotel and within walking distance of the beach. We found train journeys into Barcelona were ok but late night trains back were more of a concern. Town has much going for it, it is relaxed and has a small but busy centre. The Hotel 139 has a nice patio area to eat or drink and serves a mean coffee. Service is helpful but the first impression wasn't good (booking issue). Overall a nice hotel.

Good find that is easy on the wallet.

Very well located hotel 2 blocks from the Mediterranean sea and near many restaurants and cafes. A basic hotel that is clean and convenient and easy on the wallet. Easy access to Barcelona via train.

Close to beach

From the airport you can take the city bus L99 and then transfer to L95. Drops you off right in front of hotel. About a 45-60 min ride.
Although Hotel 139 is a ways out of the city center, it was perfect for us to be in a quiet area after traveling already for two weeks. You can catch the bus into Barcelona city center for €2.15 Plus, from the hotel it is literally a 5 minute walk to the beach.
There are restaurants, pastry shops, and a little grocery store close by .
The staff at Hotel 139 were very friendly and helpful.
The wifi can be a little weak some days but still managed to get on.
It was a great stay and would stay again. Would recommend.

Lovely Staff + BEST Coffee ever!

The hotel is lovely, staff are very friendly. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which comes in from Barcelona as Castelldefels is a 30 minute train journey away from Main Barcelona. There is a train station 15-20 minute walk away from the hotel. Many places to eat a few blocks away. The room are very basic, but the free wifi is a great addition and the bar has the best coffee i've ever tasted for a very good price!! The breakfast buffet could have been better as there wasn't a massive buffet. But staff are extremely helpful and friendly!
