Nice but disappointing

Stay was good but nowhere on hotels.com did it say that hotel was under renovation and pool anf gardens were closed as a result. The reason we chose this hotel was because it said pool open from April to September. Overall, hotel was very clean and a lovely location but the room was overpowered by airfreshener trying to mask the smell if the drains in the bathroom, even though bathroom was very clean..more of a drain problem.

The staff were so friendly thank you for all your help. Also, it was so convenient for my last night of being in barecelona to stay here as it was close to the airport. The beach was clean and the local area was residential. From a walking distance everything is obtainable. And this was a 20 minutes walk to either the beach or shopping centre.

The rooms at this hotel are not good. The hotel is dated, and the beds need replacing.

The location is decent. It is about a 5 min walk to the beach. Safe area.

The hotel does have a pool. If you have kids, this may be a good hotel for you.

The breakfast was decent.

Location is great and easily accesible to BCN Airport, but also close to the Beach Área in Castefells, where there are many Restaurants and Bars. There is a lot of activista on the Weekends.

The property is actually located in Castelldefels area. About 30 miles from Barcelona. The area is residential. It is quiet and clean. The commute to Barcelona was a major turn down for me. Either by bus or metro it takes a good hour. I would not recommended if you don’t know your way around.

Location isn’t terrible the beach is a 10 min walk and the train station is 20 min walk and 40 min train ride to Barcelona. Hotel room didn’t look too great but it wasn’t terrible. Wifi honestly was pretty bad didn’t work half the time. A/C didn’t work half the time had to talk to the front desk and it never seemed to be fixed. Staff was always friendly thought so that was great. I’d give it 2 stars out of 5.

Very terribe hotel, it's in a residential area with neighbors making lots noise during the night. The guests too were very noisy and we hardly slept through the night. The air condition also didn't work and we were forced to open the windows which made the noise worse.
The breakfast on the other end was terrible with little options to choose from, the omelette was stone cold, sausages very salty and no hot drink in sight. There was no staff to ask questions from. Worst hotel ever!

Solid value for money, fine hotel

Stayed for one short night. Check-in after midnight was possible, staff was very friendly! At first it seemed like the room had a double bed, but those were actually two single beds (which was better for us when we moved them apart). The mattresses were extremely soft and wobbled a lot with every movement. Bathroom smelled a bit musty and there was no toilet brush, but overall it was clean. Didn't see much of the hotel, but it looked nice.
We arrived by night bus from the airport, which took around 20 min. + a 10 min. walk. That was ok. In the morning the connection back to the airport was worse, as you have to change and we missed our connection bus due to a delay.

At least for a night the hotel was a good choice!

Was going very well until I wanted to sleep. The walls are very thin and could not sleep until they stopped moving furniture or whatever they were doing upstairs. This was at 11pm. I think I went to bed around 12.30 and was awoken again at 3am. Don’t expect a good nights sleep here. I heard drilling the following morning so think they were getting work done or the noise was from guests.

The staff however are nice but I’m sorry, would never go back there

The hotel was near the airport which I was looking for. When I went to the restaurant at 8.20pm there was not a soul to be seen. I had a bikini sandwich in the cafeteria which was not very nice at all. I could not get internet in my room, it would not connect at all. I mentioned this to the receptionist and, her reply was \"I have internet and it works fine\". Not the response I wanted. My room was supposed to be a room with a double bed only and I had what looked like 2 singles pushed together and another single bed in the room. It could have done with a mirror in the room by the table and a full length mirror would have been nice too.

Not the best place we've stayed. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, but the room smelled really terrible. I'm not sure that it was the room specifially or someone smoking something near our room. It didnt get unbearable until after 1am, so i didnt report it or ask to move. The staff may have helped had i asked. We only stayed the one night, so it wasnt worth the hassle. Clearly the staff had attempted to clean the room, but it still felt dirty. The double bed was actually two single beds next to each other. Not a huge deal except they moved and my husband and i usually sleep in the middle together. Hilarity did insue. The water was hot, and the AC worked well. There was a TV, but no cable, and only a couple of the radio stations came in.

While this hotel is in a very good location (only 10 mins from the beach) in the gorgeous spanish town of castadelfels it really was a serious let down. At checkin we were subjected to a 1 and a half hour wait as the previous guest in our reserved room had decided to take late checkout. Rather than explain this to us when we arrived, we were continually told that it would be another ten minutes. After several complaints and demands to speak to managment we were offered compensation and moved to a different room which was not the room we booked as we requested a double and then places in a twin. The hotel wifi is a joke, our devices could barely stayed connected and when they did the internet was often not available. This was as true in the lobby as it was in the room. The rooms doors are also badly designed and require a lot of force to open, even with a key card therefore you hear every other guest trying to get in their room as they try and bang their way in. The room itself was also poor. Only one chair on the balcony for a two bed room, no fridge and the bed was uncomfortable. The cleaning service was also lacking for a three star hotel. This hotel had the potential to be a great place to stay however due to poor service and thoughtless room setup we were thoroughly dissatisfied with our stay and do not recommend it.

The hotel was really nice with a beautiful view of the pool. The indoors decoration was excellent and the service was great. Everyone was really nice. It is 20 min by taxi from the airport. It is very far by bus (45 min) plus 20 min walk to the bus station. I came to the hotel at 10:30 and the restaurant was closed and I didn't feel like ordering pizza. I highly recommend this hotel but if you are coming from the airport come by taxi and have food first, the restaurant closes at 10 pm.

Great staff, room needs a bit of maintenance

Staff were wonderful, the pool was gorgeous and the food was tasty. On the downside, my toilet seat was broken (one of the bolts was missing, and it swung to the side and dumped me on the floor when I sat on it the first time) and my bed appeared to have been freshly made but between the sheets there was a pile of sand. In addition, my bathroom had no hot water, though this may have been due to the tour group of American high school students who arrived around the same time as me. Since I was only there one night, it didn’t seem worth asking to change rooms - I was careful on the toilet, and I slept atop the bed and took an extra sheet to cover me. (I meant to point these things out at checkout - the sand was probably a fluke that wouldn’t happen twice, but the toilet seat could injure someone - but was in a hurry and forgot.)

Overall my stay was fine, despite the room requiring a bit of maintenance. Victor at the front desk deserves a special mention for being so friendly and helpful. Dinner in the cafe was excellent (really good tortilla Española and pan con tomate) and the breakfast buffet was extensive and tasted good.

I may return to the hotel, but if I don’t, it’s most likely due to the location - the highway between the hotel and beach made it impossible to get to the beach, and it’s not ideal for someone travelling by train. Still, I’d recommend it to tour groups with coaches, or families with their own car. And the price was excellent!

Disappointing with the staff.

Already stayed more times in this hotel, but the last time was very bad. They gave to me the smallest room, with 1 double bed, when we requested 2 singles.

We talked with the woman which stay in the morning and told no problem to change come back at 15:00 pm. We returned at this time and had another lady which round and said \"Sorry the hotel is full and can't change\"

This was not true as the hotel was almost empty.

The breakfast is horrible, the food looks like is there for days.

In the very early morning, we listen doors closing and opening as have a lot of people of the far east which make noise ALL THE TIMES without any education with others people in the hotel sleeping.

The hotel was clean and the rooms are spacious with air con and a TV. The rooms are cleaned each day and the towels changed daily.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

But more work is needed on the variety of food available especially in the evening. Quantity and presentation are important when serving food .

The beach is approx 10-15 minutes walking, but it's lovely and very peaceful .

The hotel is about 10-15 drive from the airport which is excellent, but there are no local shops close to the hotel.

However and enjoyable stay. I would return again.

Pleasant hotel in great location for beach, water sports activities, airport and Barcelona. Restaurant served a good buffet breakfast and an adequate daily dinner menu was on offer, too (there was also a buffet lunch but we our every day). The swimming pool was good but the surrounds were somewhat untidy and the sun-loungers most uncomfortable. Just about \"3-star\" but definitely nearer a 2 than a 4.

Quiet stay west of Barcelona

Went for Grand Prix long weekend but looking to be based in a quiet backwater away from fans. Quiet clean modern hotel with its own restaurant, cafe and outdoor pool. the pool wasn't open when we stayed there was a collapsed wall. Self service breakfast till 10am some hot food 8 euros and is good it just needs some vegetables more than tomatoes. 3 course evening meal available for 12 euros main courser a bit basic again veggies are needed. Just get some fresh salad in.
Cafe open till 12 midnight quiet area couple of comfy chairs and an outside area. A reasonable spirit selection, a wine list and Estrella on draught. Though two large gin and tonics for nearly 20 euros was a bit steep compared to prices for wine and beer. Occasionally there was a bit of a wait to be served because reception staff man the cafe.
Each room appears to have a balcony and air conditioning. A built in wardrobe and lots of wood paneling. Our room was a little bit small and the bath had no plug.
The bed was comfortable think it was a double.
The bedrooms are on 3 floors there is a 3 person lift.
The corridors have automatic lights which did all work.
The reception staff speak several languages well at least English, Catalan and Spanish.

was everything you expect of a hotel but the swimming pool was not in use the whole time we were there this was very disappointing. the beach however is about a twenty minute walk from the hotel. the train station is a good half an hour walk and so are the shops and supermarket. from the train station you can get into central Barcelona. this takes approx. half an hour.

we ate in the hotel once for dinner and the food was very disappointing we found it better to order separate food to our room.

Too far from the train station, very noisy hotel, staff unhelpful and not welcoming, wouldn't advise people to stay here. If you want to see barcelona, spend the extra to stay in a hotel in the city rather than here. 20 minute walk to the station then half an hour train ride, means you can't come back for siestas! And trains don't run late into the night so didn't get chance for a night out. Good for the money but wouldn't stay again or tell anyone I know to stay that far out. Pay the extra and save on the time and train tickets.

Quiet location, convenient for bus/train and beach

A bad start with a power cut in the whole area.Arrived to dusky light, but waited in our room in total darkness with no lighting, not even a candle. No power until around 8.30pm. A long time to wait in darkness with no information.
Emergency light only lasted one hour but power cut lasted over 3, so corridors were also pitch black so we couldn't walk about.

No train or bus timetables provided so had to search out this for ourselves.
The food at breakfast was good but the pizza we had one mealtime was poor, so only take B & B.

Staff were very pleasant and room clean. think water on a combi system as no pressue for a bath and if one sink was being fillled couldn't turn on any othr tap.
Swimming pool area was relatively private and looked good too but too cold to use.
Overall clean, good breakfast, close to beach and transport links. Great for a city break or a beach holiday - best of both worlds.
T10 ticket can be purchased at train stations only, 10 journeys for less than 10 euros. Once bought can be used on buses trains and metros to/from and around Barcelona.

Hairs everywhere - on the bedding, in the tub, on the plate from cafe.
terrible bedding and mattress.
it's a 20 minute walk to the train station. and a 10 minute walk (over a bridge) to the beach. it's not convenient to either. hotel staff are clueless.

I was here for one night. The room looked nothing like the picture, it smelled damp. I had to take a taxi from the station as it was not the 10min walk they advertised it to, I sent my friend my location as I was sure the taxi driver was kidnapping me, the neighbourhood just looks rough and the hotel is old!!!

Well my own fault, was further away from the city than I anticipated and had trouble finding it ( as did multiple cab and bus drivers). Very quiet area but the staff more than made up for the other shortcomings. Ie: uncomfortable beds and less than immaculate conditions( I also had some unexpected visitors in the form of ants in my bed). My friends who I was waiting to meet in Barcelona were very late arriving and so the hotel staff allowed me to stay several hours after checkout to hang out and use the facilities including wifi which was a huge benefit rather than waiting in the city with all my luggage in tow!! Kudos!

Peaceful retreat from the Big City

The room was a good low. price, much lower than hotels in Barcelona, but the main problem is the distance. Its a 30 minute drive to Barcelona, so if you dont have a car, then it will be very inconvenient to reach. There is plenty of parking around the hotlel, which is amazing, since you cant park anywhere with ut paying a fortune in Barcelona. . I enjoyed the super deep bath tub, which most high tels dont have. You can enjoy a nice hot bath in a very clean tub. The guy at the desk was very nice and helpful. I would say this is a great value, and a peaceful retreat if you are exploring the area of Castelfidels, but not good if you're trying to go to the airport or to Barcelona via train or bus.

Overall we enjoyed our week in the hotel, friendly staff, quiet location, nice to walk along the pedestrian beach front, lots of joggers, cyclists, rollerbladers, happy smiling people. lots of café/resturants at reasonable prices, nicely maintained beach, about an hour to get into Barcelona (walking to station + Train)
we used the trains to get to the hotel, only a few euros each (2 trains) from the airport, but used a taxi back, 31 euros.

Be careful you may not have a room

Booked via hotels.com and arrived at after 9pm to be greeted by a lady in reception who informed me thatbthebhotel was full and I was being moved to the Ibis hotel. I was informed that they had paid for my hotel and would arrange a taxi for me !
The hotel looked nice , in the area I wanted to be in - the Ibis however pleasant wasn't where I wanted to be , cost less than the Canal , had single beds and wasn't what I wanted .
To say I was annoyed , frustrated and let down is an understatement

Good location near beach and good restaurants, hotel needs a revamp; staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms were cleaned every day.
No fridge in the room, everything else was acceptable.
Ideal for families as in quaiet location.

Four Day Stay

The room I stayed in with my two siblings had two twin beds and a pull out couch which was perfect for us. There is not very much sound proofing, so we could not sleep through loud talking in the halls or people shutting doors near our room. Overall, it was a good stay. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly.

One night stay.

Lovely stay to end our F1 weekend in Spain, spent time relaxing before flight home by the pool. hotel was close enough to the airport but not noisy at all just a 20 min drive away. Balcony could have benefited with having some furniture on it and footprints on ceiling caused interesting conversation. We would recommend this to anyone as super train and road links to Barcelona and surrounding areas.

Bad way to go out

My husband and I checked into this hotel on our last night in Barcelona so that we could be closer to the airport. It was during spring break and the area was nice but very dead. Upon checking in, the man at the front desk was rude and not helpful at all. We stood there for 10 minutes of silence while he went back and fourth seemingly changing our reservation. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend this property to anyone.

Great Hotel, Less than Great Location

The hotel service and the room were quite nice. Our room's AC hardly worked, but it was a minor discomfort in the spring. The room was clean and well prepared and the staff were very helpful. The location of the hotel is less than ideal. There were no shops or restaurants open near the hotel leaving us to walk a fair distance to buy a few basic supplies for our trip. Also, it was about a 20 minute walk to get to anything that we could do with our son. Over all, the hotel was wonderful, the location was not.

Wouldnt go back!

Reception area and hallways look lovely and clean. Our room was spacious but the beds were back aching. The two single beds where pull out ones and noisy.
The bathroom was mouldy and cracked tiles in the corner!
Manager was lovely and helpful. Reception not when i complained about two of the beds.
Our cards kept stop working so had keep going reception to get them activated again.
Didnt eat so dont know what food was like.
we just wanted bed for the nights but wasnt great night sleep.
There was no sound proof, could actually hear next door having a wee!
Also wi-fi was only down stairs not in the rooms !

Clean hotel close to beach and buses

About 50 mins by bus to Barcelona city centre, so not as close as we had expected, but 5 mins walk to the beach with some lovely bars and restaurants. Staff were helpful, and breakfast was lovely, continental and hot. Dinner was very reasonable, 12 euros for 3 courses plus a drink. Would come back.

Terrific value, great location for BCN access

We stayed here to make flying out the next day easier. I have nothing but positive things to say about value , location, and staff. Excellent for the budget and family traveler. I will stay here again and just recommended it to friends heading to Barca. One suggestion- swap out dirty shower liners or just dip the ends in bleach periodically to maintain color. Everything else was clean and fresh. Thank you.

Nice hotel, not far from the beach!

A lovely hotel. Although we specified that we wanted a double bed room, we received a room with a twin bed. The staff was ever so helpful and they managed to sort our issue after our first night. The first room's condition wasn't that good, the second one was much better and we had a lovely stay. The hotel is within walking distance from the beach and only 20 minutes driving to Barcelona. There is a also shopping centre within 5 minutes driving. Altogether a lovely experience, thank you.

tough to find but worth it

little tricky to find coming off highway did a couple of laps around the roundabouts. Bus picks up right outside for Barcelona, we walked to the train about a mile away 10 euros gets a couple there and back either way. Beach is a shorter walk and worth it. Staff very helpful, and communicate well

Functional, but location lets it down

The hotel itself is pleasant, with a decent pool, fairly comfortable rooms and helpful reception staff. It is fine if you are looking for a place to stay, which is of reasonable value and *fairly* near Barcelona and a beach. A functional place to store your belongings and get some sleep (although the walls are wafer thin!)

There are two things that let it down and cannot be captured in the ratings section - they are its location and the food, so I've detailed these below:

Location:
It is in a residential area, across a busy dual carriageway from the beach and with very few decent places to eat nearby. Barcelona is an hour away door to door, as the hotel is about a 25min walk from Castelldefels station, which is a 25min train ride to Barcelona Sants, which is then a metro journey to central Barcelona. I don't know why anyone would deliberately go just to Castelldefels for a holiday.

Food:
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EAT AT THE HOTEL. The food is catastrophically poor and the ordeal of eating in the restaurant is, I imagine, as close to being tortured for information as I am likely to experience.

To sum up, the hotel itself is quite nice, but I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic getaway or convenience of its location. If it were in a nicer place it would be much better, but for your own sake don't eat there.

Nice hotel. Close to local amenities.

Our 2nd stay at the hotel and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Lovely beach 10 mins walk away. Train station (with very regular service into Barcelona) and town centre with great bars and restaurants only 10 mins walk away.
