I only stayed 1 night at this hotel (unfortunately) in mid-october, but I would recommend it at 100%. I knew it was off downtown, but I have heard you can commute easily to see all the tourist spots downtown Barcelona. Honestly, I enjoyed a lot more being off and I appreciated so much being so close to the water and a very long boardwalk.

Some people would argue/critic that it is far away, but I would not. For me it was extremely convenient to also stay close to the airport, and there were no annoyances like in so many other places (like poorly behaved uneducated tourists, lots of noise, loud bars and clubs, etc). It was extremely clean, and the bed was super comfortable.
I tried the terrasse restaurant and everything I ate/drank was delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer to also enjoy the pool (it was crystal clear), but I had to leave.
Barcelona is a very expensive city, so be aware that the taxi from the airport to this spot will be between 24 and 30 Euros, single ride).
The are had numerous cafés, restaurants but I cannot say anything about nightlife. It was very quiet, since the room is very well isolated.
Thanks to the nice staff that made me have a very pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend and/or come back !!

My Wife and I spent 6 nights at this lovely hotel, the room was spotless, cleaned every day and towels changed too plus free water left in the fridge. Staff very helpful and friendly especially Erik on reception. Sea view rooms are amazing with free use of towels for pool and beach !! The only slightly disappointing thing was the lack of choice in the hotel restaurant but not a big isdue as numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Definitely not a 4 stars

Staff was kind but hard to believe they are trained in hospitality. Hotel looks fine in the photos, but as you get to interact with the details you will find poorly maintained furnishings and nasty stains everywhere–including towels and bedding. Aside from that, we didn’t feel safe and ended up leaving early.

The location is great. This hotel desperately needs remodeling. The room smelled like a sewage. I had to open the window so I could sleep but at 6 am some people woke me up screaming at the bus station which is right by the hotel. I ad to close the window so I can sleep. The blue lights on the hallway is like a drug lab. The view from the pool and hotel restaurant is great, but no way this stay was worth the money paid for the room.

Great stay, beach right in the back of hotel with nice broad walk to run. Lots of restaurants but no souvenir stores in the area.

Only bad thing is transportation into downtown Barcelona area. You must take multiple buses/trains which may run on different schedule posted. It’s easier to take bus L194 to metro Gothic neighborhood.

The hallways are Extremely dark w dim blue lighting, very odd!!
The shower placement in the middle of the room behind the bed was also very odd! Turning the shower on was also difficult, toiletries were limited.
Sink placement also odd.
Safe in a wheeled cart kinda defeats the purpose!

The view of the sea was spectacular. Unfortunately, we had to keep the drapes (hard to pull and broken) closed due to privacy ie when taking a shower etc

We only stayed one night before leaving for the airport the next day so we made do but definitely would not recommend staying here for any length of time.

Beautiful few days, minor room for improvement.

I loved my time at dONNA hotel. It was really beautiful by the sea. I would say that it felt a little bit like scruffy around the edges as though maybe it needs some minor renovations to bring it back to how it was when originally constructed (which I don't think was long ago), such as the carpet/tiles in the bedroom were peeling up in some areas. There was a lot of scuffed paint.

The beds/pillows were not very comfortable for such an up market hotel I would have expected better.

It was quite difficult to get the attention of the staff e.g. by the pool or in the restaurant, but when you did, they were really brilliant and very helpful. They

One word of warning...it says on hotels.com that all city view rooms have a balcony/patio, which isn't true. Only ground floor city view rooms have patio. So I told reception that I was expecting a patio/balcony, and she upgraded us to a poolside sea view room with privtlate patio, which was incredible, and I was very grateful. If I had not had this room, I think I would have felt like the hotel was quite expensive.

The breakfast was also a bit disappointing, the hot food was tepid. Not a great selection, bad coffee.

However when the breakfast buffet went away and lunch/dinner came out, the restaurant really shines. The restaurant menu is absolutely delicious! Great food. And a lovely busy atmosphere all day with hotel guests and outside guests flooding into the restaurant for lunch.

Overall a great stay, minor room for improvement.

Stunning view, but not a great stay

The hotel is nice and the view from the balcony was amazing.
However the room does need some maintenance - water leaking from the shower has damaged the wooden panels and the flooring. On the Friday and Saturday night there was private functions at the hotel Resturant that were very loud and kept us awake.

Lucation is great, we were on the 1st floor steps away from the pool and beach. The room is fine, but the shower offers ZERO privacy and there's no place to hang a towel so when you walk out, the floor gets wet. Also- no luggage rack nor sustainable practices. All staff were helpful except for 1 person & management was great when we brought it to their attention. Breakfast buffet is sub-par compared to other 4 & 5 star hotels. Location, comfy bed, and cleanliness were the best things about it.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. This was a beautiful property with great amenities. The view is amazing and the pool is perfect. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was friendly. They were able to get us in our room before checkin which is early already (2:00pm). They have a restaurant on site which is really good. I really think this is the best property in the area.

This hotel is unique. Everyone at the location was super helpful and friendly the sea room views are a must, and definitely enjoy the patio outside while having a drink or two. Located right on the beach which is a super plus! The hallways are dark but it’s not that bad. We had issues regarding hot water. Not sure if it’s the hotel or our room but it it was barely hot and that was really our only issues the entire time

Nice Stay After Canvelled Flight

We had a cancelled flight at the airport and had to scramble to find a hotel for the night. We’re very glad we chose this hotel. It was very nice and the staff was super accommodating. The manager working that afternoon was very helpful and checked us in fast. They have a great view of the sea and we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.

First, i will start with the pros. The staff were helpful, as soon as i arrived i knew i have chosen the wrong place to stay, it was in the middle of a quiet street and didn't look like anything was happening there. The lady told me to stay 1 night then cancel early so as not to lose money, i agreed. I immediately contacted expedia that i will not be staying at the location more than 1 night. The property is by the beach, you will have beach views, i also heard castedefels is not the best beach, so keep that in mind. It was raining and cold, so staying by the beach was useless to me.
CONS: Horrible location, not close to any sight seeing, looks like the people giving this property high reviews are either locals who went there to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city or they were paid to do so. Its a 30 mins Taxi ride to the city center, its 1 hour train/metro/bus ride to the city center. The room was not impressive at all other than the views. The bed was big but subpar, they have this weird shower behind the bed, was odd and dark. After showing the room feels and smells damp, they had no phone in the room so i couldn't call the receptionist. The floors were squeaky, i paid for balcony room, when i went outside briefly the floors were squeaky so i came back inside. Maybe its just American standards i am used to, the is motel 6 standard hotel. I do NOT recommend unless you just want to go somewhere quiet with nothing happening or just want to walk at the beach.

Great location and grounds. Lots of restaurants right on the mile long stretch of road there. The balcony was great, we booked a room overlooking beach in off season. The design of hotel was nice- modern boutique. We did not get a chance to partake in breakfast bc of early flight but the staff packed us breakfast picnic which was unexpected treat. The room could have been a little cleaner (right away I saw dark hair on the upholstered bed frame) and the walls and wall bases seemed beat up in areas but everything else was fine. We would have liked to hang on the terrace and order a glass of wine but found the restaurant prices a bit high for wine considering it's Spain! and great wine is abundant and often inexpensive but I guess to be expected in a resort town. We would stay here again though.

We had an ocean view suite. The room was ok; everything that should have been there was there, but there was evident water damage which was not yet repaired. The shower wall had a huge bubble-like damage along the ceiling and wall.
I also found the flooring to be odd. It’s my first experience in Europe, maybe this is standard elsewhere, but the flooring was some kind of outdoor beach-chair plastic/linoleum-like material. Very porous; not super comfortable to walk on barefoot. Also, this same material was across the whole room; toilet, shower, and bedroom area.
Other than that, the staff was super helpful and very nice. The food was very good as well. The hotel is very well situated in the city area and I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

I can't say much about the hotel. We arrived in Spain, picked up our rental car, and drove to the hotel. We were asked to wait about 1 hour until our room was ready, because we were a little early. We sat out on the patio near the pool, which was gorgeous over looking the ocean, waiting for our room. We went back out to gather our things and was robbed. The windows of our rental car were smashed and all our luggage was stolen. We were in Spain 2 hours and had a horrible experience! The hotel staff was very helpful to assist us to contact the police, however they do not come to you, you have to go to them. This happened in the middle of the day on a busy street with lots of people around. Be aware of your surroundings, do not put valuables in your luggage, and keep your luggage with you at all times. We heard this is common occurrence in Barcelona. Crime is very rampant. We were in Spain to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary and had always wanted to visit Spain and heard great things about Barcelona, however this trip was ruined and we had to return home the next day. What we saw of the hotel it was very nice and close to the beach.

Bed is comfortable. shower design is interesting large but no shelves and products are hard to use, need to add hair conditioner. would definitely recommend this property if you want great beach location west of city.

very quiet， great ocean front location，lots of restaurants nearby， easy drive to the airport. we stayed here the last 2 days of our trip， perfect for relaxing. great breakfast. large comfortable king bed which is unusal to find in europe. the room is minimalist， need more details to be comfortable. 1.wish can supply a sofa， desk set，2. shower area hasno place to put shampoo other than floor. 3. the hall way light color is kind of purple， not quite homey. could be a bit scarey. 4. there is no shoping nearby， tried to find a place to buy souvenir， no avail.

Definitely must have sea view room- city view rooms are restricted by slats making them a bit cell like. Unfortunately on flight path some days which makes it a tad noisy.

My wife and I searched for a long time to find a perfect hotel for the beach part of our Barcelona/Madrid vacation. We found it with the Donna Hotel Boutique. The hotel is modern, very clean and so new that Google satellite images still show a vacant lot where it was built. It is not far south of the aiport and easy to get to Barcelona via bus or taxi.
Our room was great with a king size bed facing the ocean. We also had a balcony with chairs to enjoy evening cocktail on.

The terrace restarant serverd great food with the meals designed by some famous chef. Breakfast buffet was large, varied and very tasty. The bar even made Mojitos from scratch.

Hotel staff was very friendly and provided great service. Front desk assisted us with taxi arrangements and our tourist questions. There are other restaurants within close walking distances.
The terrace and pool are on the beach side. The beach was easily accessed just past the terrace. You can't get closer than that. The pool was larger than the standard wading pools hotels have these days. It had a wide steps in the shallow section and a deep end over 6 ft deep.

The hallway has funky blue LED lighting making it interesting.

Only draw back that the hotel has no control over is the nearby airport flight landing approach path. In the afternoon and early evening there is a lot of noisy air traffic coming in over the ocean near the hotel. This is limited and the night time is quiet for sleeping. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel that is close to the beach and conveniently located near BCN airport for spending a night there between flights (if booking allows). The staff is somewhat disorganized but tries to be very accommodating and is friendly. The pool is beautiful and the beach below the hotel is walkable. Do note that the beach is not a part of the hotel and bookings for umbrellas and such must be made at the restaurant that is part of the beach, not the hotel.

Opt for a package that includes breakfast (if you’re a fan of good sized breakfasts) as it is delicious.

Pro tip: avoid the restaurant here. It is not competitively priced, though this is to be expected at a 4.5 Star hotel. The restaurant staff is very nice, but once again, disorganized. For example, we ordered a Surf’N’Turf Paella and received a vegetarian Paella. The staff then tried to remedy this in several ways: 1) this type of paella is a speciality and is always vegetarian in Barcelona, when this did not work as we visit the area about twice a year they then resorted to saying it is a hotel speciality, and ultimately they only charged us for one. The paella was pretty decent though (though it did miss the fish and meat).

Overall a good space to stay. I would stay there again for short trips to Barcelona. This is right next to the hotel Bel Air, which also looked decent (and is a good alternative).

Nice relaxing Hotel

We booked to stay for 5 nights, Hotel reception staff are very good, we arrived at 11.20 am local time and we were informed that our room was ready.
Lovely room, really comfortable bed - shower amazing.
Excellent choice at breakfast lovely fresh orange juice etc etc.
Outside area lovely and relaxing, pool water lovely and warm.
Hotel staff very good, friendly and polite

When we left Hotel, staff (sorry can't remember names ) came to say goodbye, can't remember the last time that has ever happened to us.. :-)

Der Strand und Pool waren direkt vor dem Hotel.
Das Frühstück war hervorragend!
Das Zimmer war gut, jedoch fehlten einpaar Haken zum Aufhängen von Kleidung und Handtüchern. Der Aufenthalt war dennoch sehr angenehm.

Wir waren super zufrieden und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Es wäre schön, wenn die Liegen und Stühle am Pool ausgetauscht würden, da diese schon durchgelegen sind und dadurch etwas unbequem und auch quietschen.

HÔTEL bon mais ne prend pas soin du détail.

Très bel emplacement avec une vue mer superbe et une literie de qualité. L’accès à la plage et la piscine sont des atouts, mais les équipements ne suivent pas : transats cassés ou inconfortables et surtout sans abri pour les plus modestes. De plus il y en a que 8 avec parasol, chambre peu soignée avec finitions abîmées, accueil inégal et parking payant non annoncé (20 €/jour). Petit-déjeuner bon mais peu varié. Globalement, le lieu est agréable, mais le rapport qualité/prix reste décevant
