The lobby was nice enough but the 3rd floor smelled horribly of smoke. There were outlets dangling out of the wall, the floors were badly slanted and unlevel. The walls were filthy, everything had stains and there was not a single trashcan in the room. The window was also broken. I can't speak about breakfast because we left as soon as we could without even checking out what they had. I sent several messages to management with no reply. We would have stayed elsewhere if we could have found something available. If you have small children, please stay somewhere else.

I arrived after 3 and my room was not ready, not a big deal so they can make sure it’s clean. It wasn’t. There was a penny and all kinds of debris around the toilet, brown smears on the wall near the toilet paper, parts of the wall and shower were coming off onto the floor. They advertised they had a gym, which was why I booked it, and it’s completely gone. I have kindly requested a refund and have not heard anything back.

Upon walking into the hotel it looked clean. There were no chairs to sit at the desk. Not everyone wants to sit on the bed to watch television. There were no water bottles which are normally complementary. Only one bag of coffee for 2 adults. The bathroom lights didn’t work. There were boogers on the back of the door and the wall in the bathroom, and there was crap underneath the toilet lid. And also the bathroom door was filthy. And why they need those toilets that are only a foot off the ground is stupid. And no luggage rack.

Our room wasnt the cleanest. Wall next to bed was filthy, the carpet felt damp when going barefoot. The room also had an unpleasant smell. The bathtub was in need of repair and the hot water took several minutes to happen at the faucet. The pool was closed. The staff was very kind and polite. Parking was nice.

This Hotel is disgusting! The smell of Marijuana was overwhelming, when I asked to be moved to the bottom floor because that was the only place that did not smell like Marijuana I was told no, because we had a service dog and 3rd floor was the only floor that I could be on. There was others that had dogs on that floor and kids running up and down the hall with dogs on no leads. There was mold on the walls, and the floors I mopped myself due to it being sticky. No other hotels were available due to the races this weekend. No screen on the windows and a lot of traffic going in and out of the hotel.

The location of the hotel was fine, but it is very rundown. The shower did not have a shower curtain, the hand towels had hair on them, the bathroom door would not shut, and updates are much needed. The front desk was friendly, but the same front desk clerk was there when we got checked in at 6 PM and when I checked out at 6 AM along with when I went through the lobby at 8 PM and 11 PM. He looks very tired, but he was still friendly.

This property is beyond help. It doesn’t just need to be renovated, it needs to be gutted. The bathroom, furniture, everything is trashed. It’s not dirty, just so obviously worn out. There is an intense commercial cleaner smell that is overpowering. The sheets are itchy (detergent?), the AC smells moldy.

The only thing we liked about it was the space in the hotel room. We got a 2 bed with a pull out couch for my husband and I and our 2 older boys. Only the two beds were small and barely fit my husband and I. They came with two thin sheets. There were a total of 6 pillows and we needed 8 because we all sleep with 2. When we asked the person at the desk for extra pillows and blankets they hold us what we had was all we got. I guess they expect the person on the couch to share or bring their own. They were just as stingy with towels. We had to bring all of the dirty ones down to get more. The housekeeper was nice enough to give us the extra stuff we needed. But the 3 different people at the front desk refused each time we asked for something. Also, no one ever changed our trash or cleaned anything in our room during our 4 night stay. I've never stayed anywhere that didn't at least change the trash. We asked for new trash bags and received one giant black one instead of the small clear ones that were in the 2 small trash cans. We ended up using it for our dirty clothes. I mean, if they can't accommodate ANYTHING then why bother helping THEM at that point? So we just put our trash in shopping bags and used the empty trash cans for the rest. Also, the pool was closed down, which we didn't see until it was too late because it was in the fine print. Breakfast wasn't great. Same stuff daily and barely refilled. Soggy muffins and frozen eggs. At least they had a waffle maker. Won't go

“Unacceptable Conditions and Poor Service”

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to numerous issues. Communication with the front desk was challenging, as there was a significant language barrier that made it difficult for both parties to understand each other.

The condition of the room was unacceptable. I discovered large blood stains on the mattress when the sheet slipped off. It took some time to explain this to the front desk, and once understood, I was told there were no other available rooms. When I requested an additional fitted sheet to cover the stained mattress, the employee was unable to provide one. I also asked for extra towels, which were not provided.

In addition, the room had an ant infestation, which I reported during checkout. The freezer in the unit was unusable due to excessive ice buildup, and although I brought this to the front desk’s attention, no action was taken. There was also no hot water, forcing us to take cool showers throughout the stay.

The continental breakfast was subpar and not worth the visit. Overall, my experience was deeply unsatisfactory. I will not return to this property, nor will I recommend it to others.

The picture does not show the poor quality of the rooms, e.g. well-worn chairs, bedside table, etc... The bed lack a blanket. It was strictly a fitted sheet and flat sheet. There's a bed cover that I don't trust have been washed recently. We had booked 2 nights and left after the first night.

Absolutely gross accommodations. The floors are sinking. Several of the beds in our rooms didn’t even have blankets (only a sheet and a very thin coverlet. There was only HOT water (even the toilet had hot water servicing it). Pool was closed for repairs. It felt dirty, smelled moldy when showering, and my asthma went nuts. Never, ever again.

Do NOT stay here! I booked my accessible room and then proceeded to drive 800 miles. Arrived and was informed that being 100% VA disabled and having a service pet was not allowed in an accessible room on the first floor. They were fully booked on the third floor (where they let “pets” stay. Their policy states that service pets are allowed without restrictions/fees.
Do not book a room here!! He called a “supervisor” and the answer was still no! Currently 12:30am on Memorial Day weekend and writing this in my truck. My wife and I with the service animal in question are having to sleep in a parking lot. F@&k you Quality Inn!

My family stayed at this hotel, because we were attending a wedding in the area. Normally, we would have stayed with our friends' family, however, knowing how busy families can be at this time, we thought it better to stay in a hotel and have our own bathroom to get ready, etc.
I did see all of the really bad reviews for this place and wasn't sure, but it was pretty much what I expected. If you are wanting a 5-star hotel experience, you will be disappointed. It says on the website it is a 2-star hotel. I was looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay. I did call ahead about the pool as I saw many people saying it didn't work. When I called, they were honest and said \"the pool is toast\". I appreciated the honesty. Turns out we ended up with a lot of down time and it would have been nice to be able to swim in the pool, but I wasn't specifically looking for that.
The breakfast was \"continental\" and for what it was, it wasn't bad. They had the Belgian waffles and the batter was mixed correctly (I'm a cook, I know), so they were pretty good, there was yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and muffins. The coffee was decent (and I am picky about my coffee), they needed to have more creamer, available.
So, I would actually give this place 3.5 stars. It was clean with fridge nice size fridge and mini microwave.
The biggest reason I am not giving a 4 is that they are still advertising for the pool on the website and they need to say it is closed for repairs.

We love Hotels.com, but not this specific hotel!

The pool was closed. It was closed last year too when we came. Starting to think it's never really open. The room was filthy. Bathroom was not cleaned. The pipes screamed the whole time we took showers. A plastic bag hanging from the sprinkler on the ceiling. The carpets needed vacuumed and there was no hairdryer in the room as stated in the amenities list.

The stay was okay. Not the worst, but not great either. Stayed from a Friday through a Sunday.
Pros:
- close to Lee’s summit downtown, and Independence/KC
- easy parking
- clean lobby

Cons:
- uncomfortable bed (lumpy and sank in the center a few inches)
- only a sheet and gauzy cover on bed - had to special request a thin fleece cover.
- the room below us had a smoke alarm sounding from 10:30pm-11:45pm the second night
- guest courtesy was non-existent here (not the fault of the hotel, fault lies the clientele… from racing up and down the hall, yelling in the halls, slamming doors, and door-checking, it was not great at all.
- the breakfast could use some work; subpar at best.

My family and I stayed at this hotel last weekend. The rooms did not smell good at all. The drawers were not closing and when we showered there was a loud noise. We told the front desk (Tage) and he just said, sorry we will spray something for it to smell good. Tage did not consider switching us rooms until the cleaning ladies offered if we wanted another room. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay. We have stayed at other Quality Inn hotels in other states and our experience has never been terrible like this time.

This is the worst hotel I’ve been to in my life. The rooms are not up to date and not in at all shape for anyone to be in. The whole building is in the worst shape ever. The elevator looked as if it had been out of order for years. The floors are so badly warped they were so weak to walk on. No one should ever stay in this hotel and it should be shut down until all of the building is up to code and in great standing for people to inhabit. The prices are not even close to what is reasonable for those type of hotel rooms. It’s not worth $50 a night. Such a disgrace to the brand and franchise.

Terrible experience. Room was dirty, sheets had stains. Morning employees were rude and unhelpful, night employee barely spoke English. TV had very little channels available and would not go into HDMI mode. I know hotels put TVs into hotel mode, but this is the first time I've been unable to use an HDMI to watch my own shows on my own HDMI device. Indoor pool was closed, elevators didn't work so we had to carry heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Thought we found a great deal but pay for what you get I guess. Would highly highly suggest staying away from this hotel.

This place was horrible. I would never stay there. Shower curtain was covered in mold. The power outlets didn’t have faceplates on them and fell out of the wall when your charging cord is removed. The tv didn’t work and there was missing paint on the walls. The pillow had a red stain on it and another had mold on the back when flipped over. When asked for help or to change to a nicer room, we were told we could leave and be refunded because all of the rooms are similar.

It took 4 different tv remotes to get the tv to work. The shower made horrible loud sound. The rubber around the outside of the shower was loose and peeled back. The breakfast options was terrible. Police coming inside the lobby at night with their lights on & looking at the monitor, holding a small child, was worry some.
We were easily moved to another room when we had issues with the first room. We were checked in and out with ease.

This is a hard one because we have stayed here frequently and the staff is always friendly, polite and professional. The property needs some serious attention. We travel with our chihuahua and I don’t mind paying extra. I also understand the logic in all guests with pets are booked on the 3rd floor. But my GOD the smell of dog pee in the hall is so strong, your eyes burn. The room was fine, the hall needs the carpet ripped out and burned!
We were there last July, and there was a sign on the lobby ice machine that it was out of order-use the one on the 2nd floor. Cool. It’s still there.
We didn’t have hot water. Read that again. I went to dinner. Came back and wanted to shower and go to bed. No. Hot. Water. The man at the front desk was super nice, apologetic and put in a service ticket and told me he would call when it was fixed. He did. By that time I had already heated water in the microwave to take my makeup off and had gone to bed.
And lastly-you should really just retire the “breakfast”. Bread, bread and more (English muffins, bagels, waffle) bread. Get rid of all the carbs and concentrate on your coffee-that was awful!
The people are lovely-the hotel itself really needs maintenance.

I'm not sure how this hotel can still bear the name of the quality inn franchise. There were mismatched tiles in the bathroom in an attempt to make a repair. The carpet had not been vacuumed and there was a bag with some dirty socks left from the previous guest. The room did not match the photograph of the lobby. I felt like I was revisiting 1987 when I stepped into my room. I completely understand being frugal however this room was in disrepair and it looked cheap. I was disappointed and I actually expect better from this franchise as I have stayed in hotels bearing this name and they were lovely.

Both got up with backaches from the bed, had no hot water, & coffee was not good. Breakfast was just waffles & cereal, no eggs or sausage or bacon. We stayed at a different Quality Inn the night before which was excellent, so we were dissapointed in this one.

Bad experience

The room was filthy. The TV stand was broken so you had to watch the TV at an angle. I ordered a suite room, big enough for my family and ended up with a two double bed room with two chairs in it. It’s not anything like the description on the website. The beds are very hard. It was an overall unpleasant stay.

Will not stay here in the future. 2 complaints. 1.Room was clean but had issues. Primary issue was that the entire room was not level, but had a bowed depression in the center. I was floored, no pun intended, by the condition. It didn't feel safe and was not comfortable. Every time I sat in the desk chair I would roll to the center of the room! This third floor room should be a storage closet, if it is structurally sound.
2. Both guest ice machines were broken. And when asked if I could have a little ice from the breakfast kitchen I was told there wasn't any.

Misrepresented, dirty disaster!!

The pictures shown on the website did not in anyway look like the room we were given. The sofa had cigarette burns, shower floor was stained and dirty. The paint job literally looked like elementary children did it. The carpets had rips in them, and there were several patched holes in the wall. Our door had wide gaps where the deadbolt would not even engage. Our ice bucket had not been cleaned out and it had the last person tobacco in it, it is supposed to be a non smoking room! We paid way to much for a place were me and my daughter felt dirty and unsafe.
