I stayed for a short time, this had everything I needed and was reasonably priced. Room was a clean, had a comfy bed, was quiet, and very friendly staff to greet me both when I checked in and out… with yummy coffee in the morning. It’s a basic stay, but everything you need. Would definitely recommend!

A beautiful property and location. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was there was a restaurant in the hotel, because we have been traveling all day and did not want to leave the property . When we got there, we found out the restaurant was closed for a private function. The check-in attendant didn’t seem to be too warm and friendly and nobody was anywhere at checkout this morning when we left at 745. A positive was the Chef was outside doing some barbecue for the guests who could not use the restaurant and he was very friendly and his food was delicious.

The hotel was beautiful. My room was very nice exactly what I needed. The decor was very inviting and the bathroom was amazingly beautiful as well as the lounge and grounds of the property. My only one wish was that there was coffee in the room. Although you just had to walk to the lobby to get coffee in the morning, you had to get up and get dressed first which would have been more convenient if coffee was already in the room.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, as I try to visit the Berkshires at least once a year. I absolutely love it and plan to stay here whenever I return.

The property is charming, with beautifully designed rooms and a cozy, inviting lobby. The rooms are stocked with Santal products, which is a nice touch. Upon check-in, guests are offered fresh water and tea, making you feel welcome right away.

The hotel also has its own restaurant and bar, both of which stay open fairly late. One thing I appreciate is that you can relax in the lobby for as long as you'd like without feeling rushed. The property is pet-friendly and conveniently located, making it a great base for exploring the area.

The staff are friendly, laid-back, and easygoing, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. During the warmer months, you can enjoy breakfast outside, which is a wonderful way to start the day.

Overall, this is one of my favorite places to stay in the Berkshires, and I highly recommend it.

This is an absolute gem of a stay - especially at the price we paid ($98 for one night). Huge bathroom, very well decorated, super stylish. Comfy bed, great AC unit. In room mini fridge (empty for guest use) -nice touch. Outdoor lounge is lovely.
We didn’t use the bar or restaurant- but it was all gorgeous. I wld highly recommend this hotel

The room was very nice, but a little small. The biggest issue we had is the room was VERY dark. One desk lamp had 2 lights, that one was fine. On the table between the beds there was a tiny lamp with a sort of orange colored very dim bulb. Quite useless. There was a floor lamp in the corner that would not turn on and I had to climb over one bed to even get to it. Really difficult to read, dress, do makeup, etc because the lighting was so bad.

Here’s what we liked: If we were just reviewing BERKSHIRES UNTOLD based on the staff, we’d be giving it a 5. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and gracious. When we asked for extra towels and requested a room change, they accommodated those requests immediately. After we switched rooms they checked to see if we were happier. This is exactly the kind of service you want in a hotel or inn.
Other good things - The bed was comfortable and there was enough counter space in the bathroom and at the desk area. We also liked that there was a breakfast seating area, bar and small indoor seating area plus outdoor seating with gas fire pits.

So, why are we giving the place a 3 overall? It really needed more attention to detail. The carpet in our original room was not in good shape and the fitted bed sheet had a small rip on my side. Some of the room furniture was dinged up and a sofa in the common seating area had some shredded fabric. One thing we didn’t like (that they couldn’t exactly help) was that we were there on a late spring wedding weekend, so there were buses idling in front of our room with loud talkers and smokers nearby. It felt like they were in our room along with the smoke and fumes.

The trend of turning motels into better motels is interesting. They’re less expensive and are sometimes more original. But you’re still in a motel. If you value soundproofing and consistently better quality, a mid range chain may be a better choice.

From the time we showed up and told that they had no reservation for us, when we paid in full for a king suite, until we left, this experience was frustrating and full of problems. All king suites were sold out, including the one we paid for! We were told we would receive a 50% credit back to our credit card and we have yet to see that.
The coffee was either unavailable/self serve or pretty bad. We experienced all of these.
The check in person was somewhat helpful but was limited as to what we/they could do to remedy the whole situation.
Communications from the upper management have gone unanswered
The room we were given instead was very small, no amenities as stated in our reservation, etc
I could go on with the sub par remedies, lack of communication and any follow through.
Ingress and egress from this hotel is extremely difficult and dangerous, coming from the main four lane highway with no lights.
The whole experience was Not pleasant at all on a trip that was a milestone for us.
We will not be returning

The converted motel has several appealing features — it was clean, the Le Labo products smelled wonderful, and the lobby bar is beautifully designed. Unfortunately, the level of service fell well below expectations.
Two days before our arrival, I received a survey asking whether we’d like any additional amenities, which initially gave me a very positive impression of the hotel’s attention to detail. However, upon check-in, not only was the requested amenity missing, but the room was also inadequately stocked: there was only one roll of toilet paper, a nearly empty tissue box with just three tissues remaining, and only two towels for three guests.
I requested additional towels, but they were never delivered. The following morning, I asked again and was met with a dismissive, somewhat snarky response that they would arrive later. By 4 p.m., we still had not received them, and when I followed up, I was told my name was “on a list,” though no one could say when the towels would actually be available.
Throughout the stay, the staff came across as indifferent rather than genuinely helpful, and service was often delivered with attitude rather than hospitality. While the hotel’s location is excellent and the property itself has charm, I left feeling unconvinced that the hotel currently has the staffing or linens needed to provide a truly top-tier guest experience.

Loved my stay here! The staff is friendly and helpful and the property is clean, comfortable and nicely appointed with a small bar and dining area. My room was spotless with an updated and spacious bathroom. The bed and linens were comfortable and there was a cozy reading chair as well. I loved the thoughtful decorative nods to the Berkshires and its history throughout. My only suggestion would be an adjustable desk chair as it was pretty low.

Berkshires Untold is an appropriate name for the hotel because the photo I was given when I booked the room was of a different place altogether. False advertising.
What we actually got was a room in a MOTEL. It had a filthy rug, a screaming loud AC, a dirty shower and it smelled of must. They couldn’t even sweep the welcome mats for their guests. Gross.

The images for the Inn didn’t show it was basically a motel. The rooms were loud because of traffic but more, because the heating unit made a terrible racket. You have to drag your luggage up several flights of stairs. The main host was a lovely woman! But the staffer who came to the room to adjust the heat unit was rude.

The rooms have eclectic decor and the downstairs restaurant is nice but just know it’s a motel and can be noisy.

Very nice as long as you know 1) it’s a roadside 2-story motel (the kind you drive your car in front of your door) facing a very busy 4-lanes of traffic road so lots of traffic noise and 2) getting onto property is a left or right turn from the above mentioned busy road with no turn lane. It’s a little nerve wracking especially because the hotel road and another business has an entrance right next to each other, you but can’t get across if you turn a meter too soon. And the “road” signage for Hotel Entrance is laughable (you can see it when you are right in front of it). Also HVAC in room is super loud - individual standing Black and Decker units for fan, heat, AC and even if yours is off in your room, you can hear the one above or next to your room if those are on. No amenities other than a nice lobby and some outdoor seating area. Limited on-site food options (days and times of service and menu) so look into it before expecting anything. Short drive to Lenox or Lee. Very friendly team, especially Hannah. Lobby smells lovely and nice Le Labo toiletries and in room mini fridge but no kettle or coffee maker. Keurig in lobby and free coffee starting at 7:15am in lobby.

This is a very nice, quasi-boutique hotel. The rooms are nicely furnished but small. It is not fancy but it is comfortable, clean, and perfectly fine…just not fancy. But I’m not a fancy person so I like this place and will stay again without hesitation.

The only reason for a 4-star rating is that, well, it is not a 5-star hotel…but nor is the price. I like it and I will be back.

This is a nice boutique hotel. We did not try the restaurantand the bar but we did enjoy the outdoor patio with fire pit.
The ground floor rooms open to the parking lot which we didn't see in the pictures when booking. The rooms are furnished tastefully and mattress was comfortable.

Check in was super easy and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The main entry/lobby area is very nice and modern with comfortable sitting areas and a bar. The rooms are small but clean and efficient. Was glad to have a fridge but a microwave would be nice for leftovers. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of storage. Rooms are individually heated/cooled and the baths are very nice/modern. Huge bonus that they allow cats and dogs! 😸🐕

It’s all about the looks. The money was spent on the lobby, which is over-the-top and jarringly unexpected in what turned out to be an old exterior hallway 2-story motel. The hotel rooms are small, with modern beds squeezed in tight against the outer walls, requiring you to crawl over beds to reach lights or AC units. Furnishings are minimal and modern, but the hotel would be well-served to spend more on upkeep and amenities and less on styling. A single 3/4 full roll of toilet paper, a Kleenex box with four tissues left in it, an armoire that looks cute—but won’t stay shut and has a door that swings open and slams into the wall repeatedly, a funky looking black and white tile bathroom floor, which is super stylish—but white tiles in front of the sink look stained and grubby. The minimum number of towels. Paid breakfast in the bar/lobby restaurant. Are we in Italy? Beds were comfy with good linens and the place is clean, but it feels like owners are “playing” hotel.

This “hotel” had so much potential, which honestly made the experience more disappointing. It’s described as a boutique hotel, but in reality it’s more of a refurbished motel with a separate building for the restaurant, lounge, and “front desk.” While the photos make it look charming and thoughtfully designed, in person it felt worn and had an overpowering scent that seemed intentionally pumped into the space.
Check-in and check-out were also odd—I only saw someone once, and no one was around when I left.
But the biggest issue was the cleanliness. The common areas were noticeably dirty, with unvacuumed rugs, rock salt scattered around, and a general buildup of debris. The back hallway leading to the rooms was even worse—you could feel grit under your feet, and there was potting soil spilled from a plant that clearly hadn’t been cleaned up.
The room itself was cuter and somewhat cleaner, though very dark (which made me wonder if that was intentional). The decor had a fun Moroccan-meets-Cuban vibe, which I appreciated. Still, small details—like watered-down hand soap—added to the overall sense of neglect.
Overall, I was really bummed. This was meant to be a special anniversary getaway, and while it wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, the website feels misleading and the lack of cleanliness overshadowed everything else. It also made me worry that there were other unhygenic things underfoot that just weren't visible.

Don't be dissuaded by the fact that this used to be an old hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed. The lobby is reminiscent of an Art Deco bar in Miami. Pony up to the bar for a crafted cocktail or morning cappuccino.

Berkshires Untold is just five minutes from the shops and restaurants in Lenox and a short distance to Great Barrington, Pittsfield, Lee and Stockbridge.

This was the perfect stay in The Berkshires! It is a well decorated, welcoming, clean accommodation that made me feel so sophisticated upon check-in.

The lounge area is beautful, and the fireplace is a nice touch. I spent time there at night working on my laptop enjoying the comfortable ambiance. Others also enjoyed the space visiting with each other outside of their rooms.

I will stay here again the next time I'm in town, as it's a wonderful value for the area and it's charming, clean, and comfortable.

this is a MOTEL. nothing indicates, in fact, photos are very misleading. Noisy if you are in front on busy highway. AND, allow pets...when asked for room in back, not facing noise, I almost gagged, ok, I did gag at the smell of furry animals that were guests in that room for sure! Fridge needed defrosting badly (so I did it). Bed lamps glued to table so can't raise up to read in bed! Ok, if you are prepared for a motel!

Berkshires Untold is an old roadside motel that has been very spiffed up. The rooms are small but clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated and updated. Our bed was comfy with high end linens and a nice updated bathroom. The major drawback to the room is the very noisy HVAC unit.

There's a super cozy, attractive lounge area and a charming little restaurant and bar. The menu is small but the food is quite good and having an onsite restaurant is convenient.

The price we paid for a very off season Saturday night was excellent, but the rates really jack up during the summer Tanglewood season, far beyond what one would expect for a small motel room. The staff is friendly and professional, and dogs are welcome for an $85 fee.

All in all, this is a very nice and sometimes very affordable Berkshires option.
