The hotel needs to be a little bit more welcoming. The outside could definitely needs a good clean. The bathroom could have had glasses in there. The floors needs a good scrub as the grout looks dirty around the floor tiles. The light in the bedroom keeps flickering. Odd size cups in the bedroom. The breakfast was poor, only beans and hard boiled eggs as a hot choice. Only full fat milk also.

WiFi wasn’t working for entire stay. Staff member told me it had been down and would be fixed in 2 hours but wasn’t. Room was freezing, heating didn’t work. Staff brought me an electric heater but this struggled to warm the room. Sheets were coarse and uncomfortable. Room was extremely noisy. Made 2 noise complaints about a neighbouring room. Staff came and spoke to them but noise did not stop. Walls were paper thin. Got very poor sleep, and did not feel I got value for my money. Staff were very pleasant though so they are a credit to the hotel.

I strongly do not recommend staying at this hotel. It is nothing like the photos suggest, and the reality is a far cry from what’s promised. The photos on the website are outdated and show the hotel as it was before it was closed and later repurposed by the UK Home Office to house asylum seekers. It appears the property was recently bought, but no renovations have been made. The entire hotel feels worn down, dated, and in desperate need of major refurbishment.

The rooms and common areas are a far cry from the sleek, modern aesthetic promised in the images. There’s no sign of a bar or restaurant, despite both being advertised. Instead, you're left with a tired, almost abandoned feel, which makes it hard to believe any real investment has been made in maintaining the place.

Breakfast was another disappointment. It was extremely basic—just hard-boiled eggs and baked beans served hot, along with a small selection of cereals and pastries. Certainly not the fresh, varied spread one would expect at a hotel of any standard. Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired.

In short, I’d advise looking elsewhere for your stay. It’s clear this hotel has not kept up with its promises or its facilities, and it’s unlikely you’ll find the comfort or quality you’re hoping for here.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They were so accommodating for whatever we asked for.
Nice clean room, and a lovely comfy bed. Local to Kidderminster town centre, and also to Bewdley centre. an Ideal location for West Mids safari park too. All are within a 10 minute drive from hotel. I Would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in that area.

Not a very good night's sleep

The reception staff was welcoming when we arrived . The main problem I had was the Aircon when in use was very noisy and when turned off kept making a water like noise the whole night until roughly 0730am. Also when the Aircon was off the room was very cold and the duvet was extremely thin !

This was our wedding venue 33 years ago and we stayed this weekend to visit friends and family.
The hotel looks tired and dreary and unfortunately no ambience. The rooms were clean but in need of some TLC. I used a Tesco voucher and I’m not sure I’d be happy with the £92 price tag if I was paying.
No breakfast being served or evening meals as the hotel was too quiet to bring in chefs and waiting in staff. This we fully understood as we run our own pub and B and B, but it would have been good to know when booking from hotels.com.
We were welcomed warmly and with just one person running the hotel a great job was done. We hope this venue can power through the difficult times and return to its former popularity and glory. We wish you all the best

Arrived in room to find it smelly and smelling of smoke. I opened the window to vent and left it open and all was fine. However I later discovered why the room smelt. When we returned later the room stank again this was because we were above the smoking shelter which everyone used until 2,30 in the morning. Do not book a room at the front of the hotel and take earplugs if you do. The manager in the morning was sympathetic but I had paid the day before so he was blowing smoke you know where. Convenience great but beware if they have a function on

The staff did what they could to help but numbers seemed to be thin - it looks as though the hotel has struggled with the recent downturn. The furniture and bathroom fittings were all all very good - but there was no restaurant and no atmosphere, and the staff did their best in the circumstances.

The staff were pleasant and efficient, rooms were pretty basic and missing the little touches that have been found in other hotel stays elsewhere across the UK but for a one night stay didn't affect things too much.
In the family room the sofa bed was quite creaky and you could feel the springs & bars through the thin topper. Moved to the bed half way though the night squeezing in with the rest of the family which was much better.
The biggest shame was the attitude of some guests on our floor who at 1am loudly returned to their rooms speaking loudly without any concern for sleeping guests. Guests leaving early the next morning also couldn't respect the rest of those around them allowing the room doors to slam shut just before 7am. Not the hotels fault but a umfortunate all the same.

The worst hotel stay I've ever had. No food, or room service. Drink service only.. £3.50 each time. No help, service or anything. The hairdryer didnt work, the iron didnt work. Over all hygiene was dire, the room smelled damp. Beetles and spiders in the bathroom. No replenishment for the 5ml of shower gel between two when it was used on day one. Room cleaning consisted of removing the bin, didnt make the bed, or make any effort to make it look appealing. Key card for the door continually broken so standing in the hallway for 10 mins each time we tried to get into the room. The doors slammed all night long. No comfort what so ever, wouldn't recommend anybody to stay there, even the beetles gave up in the end

The only negative is the hotel doesn't have an elevator so carrying our large suitcases to the top floor was a bit of an annoyance, however we would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was a good size and appeared to have been recently renewed. The TV was a bit small and the window didn't open. The check in (I think by the night porter) was fine, but there was a lady on reception who I walked past 3 times when leaving or entering who didn't look up, smile, say hello or even acknowledge I was there, I know its only a small thing, but that's the type of thing that personally, I think makes a difference and shows that they care about you as a customer. Price was reasonable for the area and quality, they need to buy some better TVs and charge a couple of quid a night extra in my view

This is a listed building - with the potential to be lovely. However, the public areas were dull, lacking in style, and unwelcoming, and the ambiance was more like that of a waiting room. Bedroom was similarly lacking in charm, though very clean, with all that one might need for a short stay. Pillows were old, lumpy and flat and the room was cold (temperature could be modified by Reception - which I didn't know, until I was leaving). Very good breakfast. Staff very pleasant, although one of them made several errors on check-in, which was surprising, to say the least.On balance a disappointing choice - but perhaps spoiled by experience of wonderful, much cheaper hotels in the Pyrenees mountains

This was a little mini break for me and the wife to visit the Severn Valley Railway and surrounding areas, hotel is nice and friendly and clean, rooms are adequate, I had to ask for extra pillows as there where far to small for us, but that was only a minor thing. Got to hotel, no one on reception to greet me or check me in, waited nearly 10 mins for someone to come out to tell me my room however then took a call so again delayed the process of me checking in as the call seemed longer than the man on reception anticipated.

Once in my room it was clean and tidy however i did notice black tap in the backroom on the counter top which was slightly dirty in the bathroom.

Otherwise it was an alright stay for one night.

Room was fine, just a lot of noise around 1AM when a neighbouring room took a shower, sounded sooo loud, reckon the drainpipe was next to our wall as it seemed we might get flooded out! Then a constant dripping pinging noise for the rest of the night. Didn't sleep well but that due to reason for being there, a family funeral.
Breakfast was lovely, very well catered for. Maybe could have put some porridge sachets out?!
All in all a nice place to stay, loved the decor in the bar and restaurant! Thanks for looking after us!

Really enjoyed my evening meal in the restaurant however the hotel seems quite outdated and run down. I noticed a leak in the breakfast/restaurant area which was quite bad. The room itself was ok. The air heater/cooler was most annoying though. Even though I turned it off before I went to sleep it came on noisily and abruptly in the middle of the night, waking me up. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again if it wasn’t for the convenient location for my business in that area.

Overall a good stay!

This was our first time in the hotel. It is quite 'mainstream' for couples and business persons alike. Nothing to blow your socks off!
Parking was easy and plentiful on arrival and it was well signed. Reception welcome could have been warmer and more efficient to be honest. Also bar service in the early afternoon. My partner however used the bar late in the evening following our local 'gig' and said that the barman/night manager was really good....helpful and friendly.
Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Quiet room at the front even though on main road.
Breakfast welcome was good - our waitress pointed out where everything was which was helpful.
Range of offerings was pretty std. although I would have preferred choice of teas.
Cooked buffet was hot and area was clean. The restaurant looked as if it had recently been refurbished and was attractive. We thought the entrance could do with the same upgrade in line with the bar/restaurant area which was very contemporary.

Decent traditional hotel-clean and tidy

Quite a traditional hotel really. We found our room comfortable-no real bells and whistles but we were staying just one night. Only issue we had was a very noisy and disruptive wedding party where there were kids running around the upstairs passageways well after midnight and continually shouting and slamming the door to one of the rooms. Not really the hotels fault but annoying nonetheless.
WiFi is easy to access for those that want it.
Breakfast was included and very good. No complaints. Is on a busy road but has plenty of parking

A central location (handy for the centre of Kidderminster as well as local attractions), very friendly and helpful staff. However, the hotel is a little dated and in need of an update, not least to the soundproofing between rooms! The reception staff (Vivian and Pauline) were extremely helpful and a fast solution was found when we needed to change rooms & whilst not ideal, (family room to a twin) it was lovely and quiet!

Overall pretty good.

I have stayed there for a couple of weeks now, mon-fri on business. The hotel is ideally located for me, the rooms have everything I need, although to TV reception is a bit patchy. It is reasonably priced, friendly staff but can get very busy, so best to try and book well ahead if possible. The menu in the restaurant could do with a few more options, pretty good if you are only there one or two nights but after 2 weeks is limitted.

A very average hotel, with no lift and electricity to the sockets on the 3rd floor failed about 11pm and was not switched back on before we left in the morning. Breakfast was okay, but we were glad we did not have dinner there. Now know that power tripping out has been reported before, so they are risking a fire if they do not find out why.

Overall a good experience, only main criticism is that morning staff looking after the dinning area were grumpy if you sat in the wrong area, and clearing tables and spraying tables on same adjoining table while eating. I stayed two nights. Room is a little dirty. There is mould around the windows and the window sill a little dirty. The mirror in the bathroom was dirty and there was mould in the bathroom.
Having said the above. The bedding was clean, cups and spoons were clean, the TVs was a little small but it worked okay. Bed was comfy and the room was presented nicely . There was tea and coffee facilities but they were not replenished daily. I asked at reception for more. Food was very good especially breakfast. I would definitely stay again. All staff were most helpful and polite.

I didn't arrive until 10.00pm and awa at 8.30 so my requirements were basic. I would add that the pillows were a bit too firm and I couldn't really get comfy - possobly softer pillows might suit some folk.

Good value hotel.

Just an overnight stay without breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children visiting WMSP.
Arrived late and check in was simple and efficient with helpful staff. Family room was fine with good sized beds for all, left next morning after a good nights sleep.

week end stay at Kidderminster

Two rooms booked 27 fine as a double room but 31 had much noise until 3am on the first night. Thought my booking included breakfast but was told it did not. Then didn't check we wanted breakfast so was not listed in restaurant for either day. Had wedding party on Friday & Sat evenings and glad we were in a quiet room. Thank you.
