Bed was comfy and supplied with towels and basic toiletries. Staff were really polite and helpful. As this place has a function room and when we stayed there was a 21st party (on Friday) and a christening party (on the Sunday) the music can be loud and you just have to learn to drown it out. The children from the christening party were running riot and were not under control by the parents. The owners knew this and constantly kept telling them to stop running around and using the building as a race track. The owners were really apologetic to us and offered us a free breakfast for our trouble. If you are expecting the Ritz this place isn't and breakfast is at an optional cost, but it will not break the bank as a small cooked breakfast is £4.50. We were visiting friends in Stourbridge and this was 1/2 hour away and was a direct route from the M5 and easy to get to Cadbury's World which we visited on the Sunday. Will more than likely stay again when we are visiting our friends.

Extremely disappointed with my stay. The room was clearly not cleaned before my arrival; there were stains on the carpet and dust everywhere. Worst of all was the overpowering smell of stale smoke and mildew that hit me the second I walked in. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

On first impression room was pleasant enough,but on closer inspection there were a number of things wrong with the room,firstly,no bin in room or bathroom,no hangers,the window wouldnt shut properly making the room very cold,there was no seat on the toilet and cobwebs in the bathroom.on my 2nd night i thought i would get some food at the bar i went down at 7pm knowing food was on till 8pm to be told the cook had gone home cos no one was eating ,the lady behind the bar did offer to go to the chippy but i had had that the night before i just wanted a snack

Bar staff welcoming. Given Room 26 up two flights of stairs, a struggle for me, if I’d known I would have booked ground floor. Room OK, nice towels, hot shower (hose split so water came out of hose and shower head) good toiletries, but no toilet paper. Brought up to my room straight away after I phoned down to Bar. Good to have kettle and complimentary drinks, but there was no teaspoon! Radiator was hanging from wall on one clip, unsafe. No WiFi as network and password given were not recognised. I rang down for password, but the details brought up were the same as the ones already in the room. Comfortable bed, clean linens, quiet room despite facing very main road. I was attending a function elsewhere, so I didn’t eat in, but the food menu looked good with reasonable prices. Also, no problem with access after hours. Plenty of onsite free parking. I would stay there again

Staff were helpful with getting around. Sainbury's and M&S is a 10 minute walk. Post office and chemist 5 minute walk. Across the road from the train station which a 20 minute trip to the main centre of Birmingham.

Traditional British breakfast was delish fast service, complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge.

I read the reviews before I booked. I'm struggling to understand some complaints, e.g., no tea/coffee, no TV remote, one bin, etc. I had no issue as it was simple to ask for the remote control (they may have reasons not to leave them in the room). There was tea/coffee in the room. I moved one bin to the room from the bathroom!

Firstly the rooms were only just about inhabitable the hot water was at best warm the toilet seat was only attached by one end so could fall off at any time. Foot prints in the shower tray.
Now to the noise our room was right next to the exit that was being used as a smoking area. The social club had 2 events going on that night so the noise outside our room was so loud with people shouting and swearing until 12:30am not to mention people trying our door twice I even had to go out and ask people to be quiet as we were trying to sleep. According to their own house rules it was supposed to be quiet after 10 pm and we didn't get any rest until well after 1am.
I have stayed in some rough places but this place takes the top spot.
DO NOT EVER stay at this place if you value any peace and rest. I'd rather sleep in my car.

Staff are always polite both on check in as well as the security guards on Friday.

Would have given 5 star but for a few minor points which should be picked up as part of a standard checklist:

No hangers on Rail
No stirrer / spoon to make tea or coffee.
Lacking a plastic bin.. there isn't one in bathroom or room bedroom.

Would stop again as I will know what to bring

It was a very basic, but clean room. Great, free parking with ease of access to car, good areas to smoke. The room was a good distance from the bar, else we would probably have heard some noise from the loud music and socialising youths. The only other issue was ours and other rooms' smoke alarms kept going off loud just as we went to bed then we overheard that someone was working on a fault - but it didnt last long. The remote for the TV was missing. Overall its what youd expect from a popular town pub inn at a reasonable cost. We eventually had a good quiet and comfy sleep and just went on our way the next morning.

Room was dirty and the furniture was torn and tatty (stool in the room), paint peeling off the wall. Extremely noisy corridor with other guest running up and down screaming and shouting and even fighting. Paper thin walls, you could literally hear the people talking in the rooms adjacent. Rooms right above the entrance where people go for a smoke, mostly drunken, very load and abusive language (not that it bothered me but the family rooms are also above this area). Very dirty throughout the whole place with a horrendous smell throughout. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we thought well if the rest of the place is that bad we just didn’t fancy it. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room with dirty cups and no spoons to stir with.

Overall extremely disappointed but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. Was extremely cheap at £42 for two adults for the night.

There were no pillow cases on the pillows. I solved this by putting the pillows under the sheet. No working batteries in the TV remote which I was hoping to use to combat the noise from the Bar/club. Walls are in terrible shape from previous guests abusing the property

We got stuck in traffic so arrived much later than expected, a staff member waited the extra 1 hour 30 minutes till we got here, i was travelling with a young child. I was so very grateful for that because it was very late at night. Sadly the bed was not the most comfortable and we couldn't connect to the wifi. But the fact that the staff member stayed to check us in, way outways any cons there were.

I enjoyed my stay at The Greenland's Inn, the room was very clean and the staff were so lovely. I didn't eat or drink at the bar because of how late I was working so I cannot comment on that. However there is a local area for shopping with places like Sainsburys and M&S, as well as local food spots too (which are really affordable). There can be some noise if there is a party going on but the night it was on when I stayed it was finished around 11pm so wasn't too inconvenient. I would definitely stay again!

The accommodation was adequate and commensurate at the price level. The room was very clean and all the necessary equipment catered for. Two negatives however, The promised Wifi facility never materialised. Secondly, the place is primarily an entertainment venue so the noise levels were too high, added to the railway line passing through the back made sleeping very difficult. it was not until 01.30am that one could sleep. Advice to anyone planning on staying here, perhaps best to avoid the weekend.

There is a big car park at the rear of the pub, the greenlands inn is its self spacious, the room was on the small side, but for what we paid we got a bargain. The room was clean and tidy, lovely towls laid out on the bed along with a small tube of shower gel and soap on both sets of towels and again in the bathroom. The staff were fantastic, and very helpful. It was an easy check in and out. If we are ever in the area again we would go back there. Thank you to all staff and customers for making us feel welcome🙂

An interesing stay,

The room was spacious. We could not get the tv or the internet to work, it was like we were too far away from the source. The people who checked us in left and the bar staff was all that was available after that. There was a gap where the two pieces of carpet met and I caught my foot and tripped, as did my husband later in night. The room was stuffy as we had to keep the window closed, being on the bottom floor. If we were not already awake the next morning and getting ready to start our day we would have been awoken by the clanking and clanging of the metal kegs being removed from the bar and more arriving. The hotel was a bit of a maze to find your room.

hotel room was too hot, our window opened to bins, they placed us in the room next to the fire exit in use for an 18th birthday party with rowdy guests stopping our children from sleeping despite knowing we were a family booking. I asked for another room immediately when checking in but none was available. Music was loud and guests were singing at the top of their voices in the corridor right outside our room. They were using the fire exit as their main entrance and exit. When I asked the manager for help at 10.30pm she then locked the fire door saying this might help, but we then had drunken guests banging against the door repeatedly confused as to why it was no longer opening. This totally ruined our weekend as none of us slept and my partner's back was sore from uncomfy beds. The manager wasn't on site when we checked out a day early, so I called that afternoon and she seemed understanding, asking us to request a refund via hotels.com however we have just been informed that they have actually rejected the refund saying they just don't offer refunds on non-cancellation bookings. This shocked us as we didn't simply choose to cancel ahead of time - it was so horrendous that we had to leave! I wouldn't want to damage a small business' reputation but we tried the proper channels just to be lied to and left out of pocket.

Did not sleep well at all the first evening due to incredibly loud function on site, doors from function room were propped open and unmanned, meaning we heard noise, shouting, swearing and running. Did not finish until 12.30. No one monitoring people using the fire doors right by our room which were also open and used as a cut through. Had been told event would be over by 11.30. Rude party goers.

There was a wedding party going on with no pre warning about this the loud speakers and music could be heard all through the venue, despite me being in a room far away I was kept up till midnight by the loud speakers. Had I been given warning I would’ve booked somewhere quieter !!

Disappointing...

This place is an old former social club. The large entertainment room looks like it was converted into very small basic accommodation rooms. We switched rooms because the first one was not clean. There was damage and paint peeling off the walls. We were not informed about the large party in the function room which is next to the accommodation. There is no sound proofing and it was very loud in our room in the evening. At 10pm a locksmith was drilling next door. There was a lot of people smoking and talking outside the bedroom window and fire exit doors.
This place is ideal for people who get drunk and need to sleep it off. It's not for people who have young children.
The staff at the bar were friendly and helpful. The location was great and it was the main reason why we booked this place. We will not be going back.
