Our first time visiting family in Stirchley. The room was available from 2.00pm, but we didn't get there until after our evening meal with family. The room was cold on arrival. It heated up quickly, but it was a very cold evening. Apart from that, we were very impressed and we would definitely return.

The room was clean, staff were extremely friendly, there is ample parking on site and the breakfast was good. The hotel itself could do with a revamp as it is a little dated, however if you are in Birmingham for 1 or 2 nights it is a good option and easy to get to the city centre.

It was really noisy in the courtyard in the early hours of the morning. People chatting and the concierge didn't ask them to be quiet. Very poor night's sleep.

I informed the hotel, but even though the website showed available rooms, they told me there were no rooms available and refused to change my room.

Good value stay and proximity to Bournville Station meant getting into the city for a gig was easy. Comfortable overall although mattresses could be improved. Reasonable breakfast, useful car park, clean room and bathroom. Overall, would stay again but some tweaks would improve good to great: receptionist should greet you even if on phone and if it's an extended call, maybe pause it, or suggest you sit, felt like an imposotion that we had turned up; more lighting required when returning to the rear extrance at night (maybe lights on the steps, in tubs etc); better signage from car park to reception; the rear beer garden could be beautified a bit.
However, we had space, it was good value, the old photos were a nice touch. Overall, recommended.

The room was very acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Sound proofing in room wasn't great, I could here TV in adjoining room and footsteps above. Hotel rooms didn't have soft closing doors so there was lots of slamming. Not the hotels fault, but I stayed during one of the hottest weeks of the year, so Aircon would have been nice.

The room was basic but clean, however I was disappointed, there wasn't a hair dryer and the room above the bathroom started to leak into the bathroom of the room I was staying in, which wasn't good as the bathroom floor was covered in water. I had to put some towels down and put the bin under the leak.
The staff were friendly enough however I think they could be more professional as they where using there phones whilst customers in the bar and restaurant.
I had steak on the evening which was very nice however the cooked breakfast the next morning wasn't great.

Two nights at this Inn. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a little bit tired, but clean and tidy. The food was good honest pub fare. Breakfast was buffet style but we asked for fresh and this was duly delivered. On the second night the Inn had a Pub Quiz - we as The Visitors - can next to last. Thank you for a good night.

Room was fine (apart from wonky toilet) but the breakfast was a disappointment. They put brunch menus in the room only to be told they don’t do brunch on a Sunday. The “continental” breakfast was clearly multipacks of stuff bought from the Morrisons opposite. The hot option was empty and we had to ask the guy on the bar, who was, in all fairness, brilliant, and he sorted it for us. Only had disposable sachets of sauce and no brown, yet there was mayo? Chef suddenly started playing loud music with the kitchen door open (like an anti-social level of noise). Poor guy on the bar was running around trying to do everything. Quality of the hot food was good, although the cappuccino I ordered was clearly instant from a machine so I resented paying extra. The teas and coffees were served in disposable cups, not sure why mugs weren’t an option. Picture of the wonky toilet - it had been screwed on that way??

We thought that the Bournbrook provided good value for money - friendly staff, clean bedroom and bathroom, with everything needed for a one night stay. We had a few issues with breakfast though - cold plates for the hot food, luke warm water for tea and there was vacuuming going on all the time we were eating.
