Yeah the bull ring and grand central was 5 minute walk from the hotel. Didn’t visit the bar as we don’t drink. The rooms were clean, comfy and quiet no noise from the outside at all. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Welcome from receptionist was great and friendly, we didn't use other facilities so can't comment on them, room was nice and adequate. The only things letting the whole stay down was unfortunately the bed, I felt like I was sleeping on a plank of wood, i did manage to get some sleep but was mostly awake. There was a continuous hum from outside (even with the windows shut) which unfortunately kept me awake aswell, im assuming these were from nearby buisnesses. The saving grace in the morning was the shower. Just think the beds need some updating, too firm and aggrivated my back.

This was a last minute booking on 8th January because of the awful weather and terrible road conditions. We were given a warm welcome and were very pleased with our twin room. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, tea/ coffee making facilities, couldn't fault it. We had a very tasty breakfast next morning, welcomed by Raja, who made sure we had everything we needed , a very sincere member of staff. Overall a very pleasant impromptu stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you once again. 😊

Arrived an hour early than 3pm check-in, asked if I could check in early and they confirmed that there would be a charge, I said ok, and they said no rooms were ready. They didn't check me in ready for 3pm, so I waited and at 3pm there was then a massive queue of people checking in. Not sensible.

Staff very friendly and helpful, main bar/reception area was nice, bar was reasonably priced. (We didn't have breakfast as part of our stay). We were able to park on site in the underground car park - which has maybe 15 spaces and is quite small to manoeuvre within. Bed was comfortable and linens/towels were clean. Room was on the small side but it had everything we needed and the shower had good water flow.
The downside to staying on a Friday night was that there were several music venues/nightclubs on the nearby street, and one had speakers outside (not sure why as it was heavily raining all evening/night and about 7 degrees C). Whilst not exceptionally loud it could be heard from our room until 2.30am so our sleep was not great. Not the hotels fault and they had placed us in a room as far from the source as possible.
Location was good, very close to the Bullring Centre and main New Street shopping and a short walk to the canal areas.

The room in the Ibis although clean and tidy was not particular big. Nor was there a lock on the bathroom door. The staff were very pleasant but there was no chef on the Sunday when were were hoping to get a lunchtime snack. The most annoying thing about the stay was that their welcome email said that the hotel car park cost £15 per day but if it was full you could use a partner car park at a discounted rate. On arrival I was told that the hotel car park was full and to park in the car park opposite. That car park showed a cost of £24 per day but when I asked at the hotel reception about the discounted rate I was told there was no discount. This meant that I had to sort out alternative parking which I had not anticipated. I feel that they should make it clearer that if their car park is not available the nearest car park costs a lot more.

Rooms are very small, open the door and you will fall onto the bed! Bathroom tidy, but the shower was clean, pressure good and lots of hot water.
We stayed on a Friday night and the night club close bar was playing a lot of base till at least 1am. Being ear plugs like I did!
Breakfast was ok, eggs cooked order which was a nice touch.

Staff at reception were very professional and welcoming. My room 342 (I think it was was awful) it smelt of death, the carpets were filthy, the desk was cracked, the bathroom windows were open with a constant buzzing noise, sounded like a fan but it wasn't a fan for my room it must have been below. Whilst the bed did have clean sheets I was dubious about whether the mattress and mattress topper were very clean. Should I ever attend another conference at this hotel I will not be staying here.

Overall, it’s ok for a few nights. The lobby is fine. The breakfast is hot and plentiful. It’s also a very reasonable price. The breakfast staff works hard. The room was ok. The bed frame in our room was broken tho. Housekeeping staff were nice. The 3rd floor carpeting is DISGUSTING. I mean it’s AWFUL! The staff were all kind except Claudia. She is rude, unwelcoming and shouldn’t be in customer service. Management should step in and do some serious work on the carpet and that one staff members attitude. She made me cry at one point. Other than that, it’s a decent place to stay.

It’s in a wonderful location for seeing the Ozzie Osbourne sites and the Christmas Market. It’s located a 3-5 min walk from the main train station and it’s in China town. All of that is wonderful. The front lobby is clean and overall nice. The staff were great until today. I was bothered 3x at breakfast about paying I had already paid the night before. It was finally found and they apologized. By that time, I was already upset. The breakfast is hot and plentiful. We were happy with the breakfast and the price. Our bed frame was broken and the 3rd floor carpets are HORRIBLY dirty. ag. b at

I arrived at midnight to check-in, there was an issue with them finding my booking even though I had all the appropriate confirmation etc. It took around 30 mins to sort, throughout which I was just sat in the lobby waiting and other costumers were being served before.
The room was very sad and tired, the carpet was rough, dirty and discoloured - there was dust coming out of a bed headboard? Just overall very meh and would not recommend.

The location was ideal for a concert at the Academy, and very close to the train station. It was a bit noisy as it’s in quite a lively area in the heart of China Town, but not enough to bother us.

Room was very basic and a bit dated, but was fine just to sleep in after going out for the night.

The staff were friendly and helped direct us to an alternative carpark as the hotel carpark was full when we arrived.

Great central location for Birmingham and easy to find even by car. Extremely limited parking at the hotel (less than 20 spaces). Room was small but functional. Some cobwebs on the ceiling so cleanliness not as expected. All staff were very polite and acknowledge me instantly, very pleasant. My room was on the second floor and at night you could hear the sound from a nearby club so for light sleepers, not ideal.

Clean rooms. No ironing facilities in the room. Will have to go and iron in a small windowless room at the end of the corridor which feels a bit stuffy. Close to lots of restaurants and within walking distance of good shopping. Okay hotel in general just jot sure of suitability for business travellers. Parking onsite but very limited and cramped and bigger cars will struggle. Good hotel if the car is small and only a night or two.

Good for the price but can be noisy

Be warned. The hotel is on top of a bar/club. If you visit at the weekend and are allocated a room at that side of the hotel, then you will be partying too until 3am! There is a warning on their direct site but not on any 3rd party site. Luckily (after being offered ear plugs) we were moved to a room on the other side of the building. This was far more peaceful, it was very affordable, clean, beds were comfy, big towels and friendly staff. This is a no frills hotel, located in the very central China Town area. Good for the very affordable price.

The hotel is very dated. The room we were in had the handle to the bathroom literally hanging on by a screw.

There was building work inside the hotel and also outside. Some loud banging started at about 7am and felt very near to our room outside.

I let the receptionist know about the noise, purely for their knowledge ahead of booking anyone else into the room. One of the girls on the desk was very kind and friendly, the other was less friendly.

It’s great to have a late bar though and breakfast was nice enough x

Normally a fantastic place to visit, however, there were works going on inside the hotel. As such, there was hammering, loud voices, and sanding throughout the day - I was woken up around 8-8.30 by the sound of sanding!

Unfortunately, I discovered a live fly wriggling around in my burger likely from the lettuce. I informed the staff who provided me with a replacement, a free drink, and a free dessert. Whilst an unpleasant experience, the staff were fantastic.

Normally a great place but the building works let this stay down. In future, prewarning would be best.

The only issue, and a minor one at that, is the key cards often fail and you need them to access the lifts too. This is only really an issue if you’re in a rush and there’s a queue at reception - but for this reason I’d say not great for other business travellers who don’t have time to waste.

We stayed for 2 nights. When we went to check in the staff member said they were new, didn’t know the area and 2 people checking out were unhappy as they had put there bag in for storing and had something stolen. The staff member didn’t put our bags in the secure area, just in the office. Didn’t feel good about this and not a great start to this stay. Couldn’t check in until 3pm. (We had just come from London and they let us check in a lot earlier). The elevators were so small and unnerving. The room was clean and large enough, but basic. The hotel could do with a renovation and freshen up. The hotel was in a central location. Cheap and cheerful. Buffet Breakfast was ok, but wouldn’t have it again. When we eventually could check in there was a different staff member who was brilliant and knew what he was doing. Check ou was another different staff member and she was really lovely and knew what she was doing.

Location is perfect for much needed retail therapy. Lots of restrictions nearby. Car park is tiny and hard to manoeuvre in. I did manage to scratch my car but a staff was there to direct me so I would not damage my car even more. I ended up not parking my car there cause it was full anyway. But the car park opposite is 24hrs with a fee.

The hotel is generally fine. Pretty standard for most Ibis hotels I've stayed in.

I telephoned a couple of times in the weeks running up to the booking, as I had a few questions and requests. I Everyone I spoke to was helpful and seemed knowledgeable.

Combined with the person I spoke to during check-in, I spoke with at least 3 separate members of staff.

Despite all the calls and in person chats (not to mention all the updates sent via Expedia), not a single person on staff thought to mention that noisy works were scheduled to take place during our stay that might disturb our rest.

I understand the need to make essential alterations and upgrades, but a simple heads-up would have been nice.

The room smelt like cigarette smoke when we entered. The beds are terrible. The ‘mattresses’ are just very thin pads. Not a comfortable nights sleep at all. The bathroom was tiny. I am a petite person but I feel like if you’re lager it would be hard to move around. I booked based on the good reviews on here so I just wanted to post my experience in case others were going to do the same. It was quite noisy also, night club music until early hours can be heard and then early bottle collection in the morning outside the hotel. It was very cheap so I guess we got what we paid for, but it was still disappointing.

Central hotel with no thrills, in the middle of Chinatown. 10min walk from Birmingham New Street. Round the corner from the bull ring & round the corner for coach pick up for Aston Villa events. Bar & restuarant was better than the room, which needs renovating so looking forward to these improvements once completed.

I reserved 3 rooms, after checking in late went to the room and noticed signs for construction in the elevator. We were on the forth floor apparently the heart of the construction, at 0830 the qork vrews started to drill, sand, bang and just be louds riggt outside our door. Ironically thwre is a sign when you get of the elevator ro please be quit. Apparently does not apply to them. Hoping to sleep in after a long day was not happening.
Staff apologized and acknowledge the problem and stated corporate would not let them post online there was active construction. And asked for us to please complain because this was an ongoing problem with corporate apparently, corporate does not care about their guests as much as the staff in the hotel it, but they are directed by corporate on what to do I was not overly pleased after complaining they refunded me the half of One room, i had the opportunity to stay at another ibis the next day, when I returned towards the airport but I chose not to i bet you to say this will be my first and only experience staying at an Ibis. I forgot to mention two out of the three air conditioners did not work.
If they are doing construction, they should not be renting the rooms directly outside. where they're working, this was unacceptable. But obviously they were aware!!!
