There are 3x B&B hotels in lake Como don't get caught out, city one near Giovanni station the others a bit further out at Carmalatta, good bus connections into centre 1;6,8 get off when you see lake. Carmeletta 7 mins walk to station direct to Milan

The room was fine with a lovely shower. The hotel is not far from the motorway and easy to access. We liked the secure underground parking and the breakfast. The small shop in the lobby sells drinks and snacks and microwave meals. Pinocchio bar down the road was good for beers and there are several restaurants within walking distance.

The property was good the front office staff was good but other guests were awful. Very loud obnoxious several times kids knocked on our doors . Apparently the staff was not able to control the parents with there kids. Which could have been a great stay turned out to be a disappointment.

Great two nights stay.

The location was in a great location to get to and from Lake Como and also Lugano (Switzerland via train and bus). It was also very easy to get to from Milano Cetrale.

The Hotel itself was better than expected given the rate and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

We asked for breakfast at an extra cost and again, wasn’t disappointed.

The only thing we didn’t like was the pillows but as that’s a very personal thing to get right, you can’t please everyone!

I’ll be looking out for B&B hotels in other locations.

Lo que no me gustó es que tanto el cuarto como el espacio del desayuno están muy poco iluminados. Le hacen falta ventanas a las instalaciones.

Algo que tampoco me gustó es que en todos los hoteles B&B en los que me he quedado (tres en la última semana), ninguno funciona para compartir la pantalla entre el celular y la televisión. A algunos les sirve el chrome cast, pero a otros no. Pero el screen mirroring nunca funciona. En particular, en este hotel, la tele está muy pequeña para la distancia que tiene con la cama. Además, la iluminación del cuarto es escasa. Tiene muchas lámparas pero todas están volteando hacia arriba o detrás de algún mueble (como el respaldo de la cama. Está bien iluminado en general, pero no es adecuado para trabajar o revisar papeles.

Tambien, aunque está muy cerca del tren, el transporte para la ciudad es escaso. Aunque eso en realidad es un tema del gobierno de la ciudad y no del hotel.

Lovely hotel outside Como but very close to Camerlata Station for easy access to Lake or Milan. Comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast. Staff very helpful and all speak English. Parking on site an added bonus.

There was a large group of kids and adults from a sports team staying when we were there and they were running down the halls and yelling and very noisy until late at night. We asked several times for them to be quiet, told hotel staff in the morning and expected some type of compensation for having to bear this while trying to relax and sleep. Hotel staff did not offer anything.

Not more than a two star hotel. Kinda like a hostel with your own room and bathroom. Only one elevator works. Foosball machine in front of elevator. Dirty elevator and hallways. Everything needs updating. Superior double was large enough. Very basic beds. Two electrical outlets in entire room including the bathroom. Tiny shower with plastic doors. On the plus side, there was free parking. Breakfast was ordinary and basic. If you need to save money that is the only reason to stay here.

Very convenient location in adorable Lake Como. 8 minute drive to the city center. Very easy to get to where we needed from here. They were very kind and held our bags in storage the day of our check out. The hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. Clean and spacious room.

Lovely break & wedding in lake como.

We stayed for 3 nights just after the May bank holiday, the hotel is very clean, only 15 min cab ride into lake como, reception staff very helpful, continental breakie has a good selection.

Only negative point would we that the sage in room is don’t work & this was also true for the other rooms the family had hired.

Parking is available hence I would strongly suggest hiring a car if you want to drive around, also parking costs are very responsible compared to Uk. 2/3€ for most of the day.

Getting a taxi after 11pm is a real challenge.

Enjoyable stay without a car

Location close to train station. Clean & very comfortable. It’s about an hour walk to the lake each way. There is a delicious pizzeria restaurant very close to eat at for lunch or dinner. The breakfast in the morning was amazing! So good and with eggs. There were 3 of us total & plenty of room in the triple room. Would recommend!

The front desk was courteous, the hotel has an indoor parking garage, there is a big and nice supermarket near by. Walking to Lake Como from the hotel is about 5KM. There are two bus routes that go to Lake Como.

This was really a negative experience. Traveling as a woman alone I got a room with just a big door opening to the groundfloor, nearby the smokers area of the hotel. People could look inside the room and I don t understand at all how this place is a hotel with „rooms“ like this. More than a kind of prison cell. Its also very noisy with the street in front of the hotel. So you habe to close anything - in the summertime. The room smelled also awful in terms of some kind of perfume. Askiing for a new room the staff was very unfriendly and not cooperative at all. There was no possibilty to change the room. It was such a bad night for me - its surreal I payed money for this „experience“. I immediatley cannceld the next stay and I think I never stay in B & B Hotels again.

Located in a quiet area, but on a main road where you can easily take the bus into the piazza/lake area. It’s walkable area, and also just a few blocks from a train station. The actual hotel room was nice, but there were some holes in the drywall throughout. But nonetheless, we had everything we needed for our short stay.
The staff was friendly and helpful with all of our questions.

I had a lovely stay. It was off tourist season, and the hotel was quiet. The room was large, had a large bathroom, and the shower was great. All staff were friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. It was clean and largely well kept. I had flown into Malpensa airport and rented a car. It was an easy drive to the hotel…just over half an hour. There was ample free parking at the hotel, including a secure under ground parking garage. From there it was easy to drive into Como. Also, the train to Milano stopped at a station only 5 minutes away from the hotel. It also travels into Como. Not expensive at all. My trip to Milano cost under €5 each way. (Beats England’s train prices by a landslide) Again, really easy to use and convenient! The only down side…and it’s just a small thing…as the hotel is in more of an industrial area, there isn’t much in the way of food and restaurants near the hotel. There is an American style place near by…but not what you really want if you’re North American traveling to Italy. Eat in Como or pick up a few things from the near by Aldi and Lidl as I did. (Just not the cheap wine…it will find its way down the drain pretty quick.) I did take advantage of the breakfast offer. €7 for a pretty basic continental offering, but actually, it was convenient and filling, and set the day off right. As there isn’t anything around, I’d suggest opting for the breakfast.

In all, this was a nice stay, and I highly recommend it. I’d book again!

I made a reservation date error online. I called Expedia 5 min. after the error to cancel the reservation. Expedia told me they had to contact the hotel. I intended on staying there in April not the next day in January. The hotel manager would not reschedule the reservation nor cancel the reservation. Expedia would not credit my card. I am disputing the charge on my credit card. The hotel would not even return my messages to them. I find this customer service terrible and Expedia should be ashamed of themselves for not doing more. Needless to say I will never use Expedia again.

While not in Como, this hotel is very reasonable and a 5 minute train ride from the harbor.
We also took a bus to hotel and that was convenient.
10 minutes easy walk from bus stop.
Interior room was very quiet.
Very comfortable mattress.
Great breakfast.
No windows in our room, but nifty skylight.
Warm, caring staff who answered all questions and really value compliments on their work for hotel patrons.
They take pleasure in helping guests and making you as comfortable as possible.

Great hotel, receptionist was lovely and very helpful. We have stayed in 12 hotels in the last 2 weeks on a road trip. We rate this as the best so far by a long way. Reception provided us with glasses and cork screw having purchased a cold bottle of Pinot Grigio from them for only 6 Euros! Ice machine was also available as was an excellent buffet breakfast for 7.50.
It was s 20 minute bus journey to centre of Como/lake.

Arrived at 1pm to be told check in was 2pm. I knew this so no big deal bt most places let u check in. When I started to use the auto check in I was told, don’t, if a room became available the young lady would tell us. Seemed crazy as check out is 12pm and there was no one around. Once in you could see the place was in decent condition, corridors were clean and smelt nice. Room is basic, no windows but decent air con, there was a vending machine and small shop section which wasn’t expensive. Not a lot close to the hotel but Como isn’t to far by car. Overall for the price we were happy.

This hotel is very good with great service and nice rooms. Unfortunately I banged my car driving out of the garage of the hotel, it cost me €1,560 to repair and really delayed my family’s vacation. We have a fairly standard 4 series BMW, but it was too low for the Hotel Garage Entrance and upon leaving I hit the bottom of my car on the gate bottom so hard that it pierced the Gear Box, so much that I couldn’t drive my car and it had to immediately be taken to be repaired.

Luckily the helpful receptionist/manager helped us to find a mechanic and they gave us a slight discount for the extra night we needed (€11) but ideally it would have been better if we could have been warned about the garage and told not to use it if we have a low car...
So if you have a low car, don’t use the garage!

Also when we arrived we were given a bedroom room with no windows. Luckily my wife is a Hotel Interior Designer and she refused to stay in such a room so they placed us in a room with a gorgeous view and a huge balcony after she politely asked to be changed.
The breakfast was good, the rooms were cleaned really well and it it hadn’t been for the €1,560 dent to our car it would have been great!
Nice hotel but avoid the car garage unless you are in a SUV or similar.
But 7/10!

Separators between own and other rooms not allowing enough privacy to enable curtains to be drawn. Easy access to bus and train for easy travel to centre and lake. Clean and well kept hotel. The bed was not the most comfortable. Otherwise facilities and staff were pleasant. Well situated in Como, close to restaurants, grocery store and laundromat.
Would recommend skipping the hotel’s breakfast and trying the Atlantic cafe inside the Camerlata supermarket which is a 5 min walk from the hotel (they make excellent coffee and croissants).

After reading previous reviews about where to stay for the F1 in monza Lake Como was a popular choice. This hotel was a 20 train journey to the lake area where l the shops bars and restaurants are. Lake Como is brautiful defintly worth a visit.
To get to the f1 from this hotel it took 2 trains and a bus ride. Then a 30 min walk. Taking the journey just over 2 hours.
The hotel was great no complaints just wrong location for us on this stay.

It is nice hotel for a night. But it is quite far from the city (+-40min walk).
Staff very friendly and helpful. Except the cleaner that came before 9am and asked when we are leaving, and kept complaining that when we want to leave is late for her. Check out time is 12.
Overall is a comfortable place for a stay.

Decent hotel, though not too close to the central old town (a quick bus trip in). Helpful staff, clean room, although my only point on this would be the laundering of towels seemed a bit off with a strong chemical smell. This budget hotel was marginally cheaper than my local (usual) hotel.
The difference is negligible, when comparing like for like. No windows / weird AC
I will go back to my trusted hotel and avoid this one, for sure.

We called the hotel during mid day the day before check-in, twice, none was picked up. After we checked in, staff is helpful in answering questions.

Room has sufficient space, very clean. However not enough wall socket for charging multiple electronic devices. No shelf in the room and bathroom to put things away in good order. These small things would cost minimum to install.

Hallway smells strong house cleaning product during the entire day, not pleasant.

Will recommend to friends.

We stayed here four nights well located just 500 yards from train station easy access to centre of Como...breakfast was good value and the room was spotless aircon fab and the bed was to die for massive and so comfortable we didn't want to get out. We payed under £300 which represented great value for money we will be back and would certainly recommend

Great Suburban Hotel

Lady at reception greeted us with a smile, was friendly and spoke english. Instead of a room key or card to open the door, a code is provided. This opens your room door and the main hotel door after 11.00pm, when reception is closed.
After 11.00pm, self checking facilities are at the main entry door.
Room 208 (internal void facing) is very quiet and relaxing, contains a comfortable king bed, self set fan and temp air conditioner, desk, in room safe, wardrobe, flat screen TV.
Wifi exceptionally fast. Registration required once.
Great comfortable hotel, large rooms.
Location / Nearby:
The hotel is about 3km from town and has both limited free off street and paid secure parking under the building for €8 per night.
Nearby is the bus stop 30m, train station 350m, supermarket 300m, pizza restaurant 300m, Weiner Haus restaurant 700m.
Trains to and from Como
Center leave every hour and take approx 10 min to arrive. Tickets are €1.40 for 2nd class each way.
Bus 6 is more regular with the cost starting at €2.50 or more, depending on the bus travel distance. This takes up to 15 mins travel time
Getting to / from hotel:
From Como center, bus 6 stops directly outside the hotel, or the train heading to Milan stops at Como Camerlata train station (2nd stop).

Out of town, poor parking & mouldy rooms.

Location is quite far out of town and directly on a main road, so the rooms are noisy all night from the traffic.
Our original room (108) was mouldy and stank of bleach. Unhelpful receptionist told us room couldn't be changed as we'd \"used\" it, ie; entered and then gone back to reception to complain about the mould. Manager was able to arrange the switch, but couldn't answer why we were given a mouldy room in the first place.
New room (118) also had a peculiar smell, but no mould at least!
Parking is a bit awkward to access if you are arriving from the city side, as it isn't well sign posted so easy to miss the turning, plus you are lucky if you find a space if you arrive in the evening.
Overall not a great place to stay, even for the budget price. Only upside is speedy WiFi.

Pleasant stay, helpful staff

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Since it was reached after 23:00, some support from a receptionist in remote was requested in order to gain access to the hotel. Everything worked fine with it. The morning after, minor issues (such as the safe that did not work properly) were quickly solved thanks to very helpful staff people. Since I was too busy for having a meal during the day, the formula \"pay 7,20€ and eat what you want for breakfast\" was very welcome, allowing me to have a very big breakfast that would have costed 5 times as much if taken in a cafeteria. All food was fresh and tasty. The room was wide and clean, with a large bathroom. Highly recommended.

This hotel was publicized on Hotels.com as being close to city center...it was NOT.
It was listed as having a pool...it did NOT. I was to have a city view...I did NOT.
I was to get free breakfast....we had to pay for an awful excuse for breakfast.

Budget, no frills atop-over hotel for 1 or 2 nts

Room had no tea or coffee making facilities, no kettle although there was a coffee machine downstairs in reception which was a supplementary charge. Only one plug in the room so if you are travelling and need to charge up your phone, tablet, camera or any other device not to mention a laptop then forget it, makes me wonder about the superfast Internet ?? Also no ironing board for those who wish to stay smartly dressed.

edge of town hotel

modern hotel on outskirts of city with a few eating places close by. on site parking, but a busy road. bus stop outside to city, although it is walkable. room had a shared balcony but we couldn't use it as the people in the other room did and they smoked out there. good breakfast but the breakfast area was quite small and cramped for the number of rooms.

Good hotel

Well presented and comfortable..a bit out of town but the buses are good. Better information on buses and a map (as well as some tix for sale at the hotel) would overcome the slight confusion of negotiating buses.

Clean and simple.

A clean and efficient place to stay, not fancy. The air conditioning and wifi were fantastic! Free parking was nice. All the light switches were confusing to the point that we just left the bathroom light on all night and closed the door because we couldn't figure out how to turn it on without turning on all the lights in the room!

Nice and clean.

The room had everything we needed. It was a bit noisy because we were near the elevator and we could hear a baby crying in the night. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Good for one night.

This hotel was very clean, the receptionist was friendly and very helpful. The room was a good size, and breakfast was good. The down side is there is the location, there is a pizza joint just down the road but to go further afield take a taxi it is not worth driving into town, not enough parking.

Efficient Hotel in the middle of nowhere

The hotel was clean and well maintained. We didn't love the way the lights worked where when when you turned off the master switch, none of the lights worked! The bathroom was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The neighborhood didn't have much going for it and there is literally 1 restaurant and 1 bar within walking distance. The staff were however very friendly and helpful.
