Do not stay at this hotel

This was an absolute DISASTER of a hotel. It is located miles outside of the city and even the taxis will not serve you there. We had to figure out public transport and couldn't even stay in town in the evening. The Hotel is literally a building site and I am not sure if they are putting it up or taking it down. They locked the gates at night and there was no one from 8pm until 7 the following morning if anything went wrong. The people were nice enough, but really terrible.

A pleasant stay

It's a pleasant stay. Good breakfast. Room looks new. The location is only good if you have a car. Parking is not a problem.

The only complaint is wifi/internet connection is very poor.

The property is quiet.
Hot water was not available when I arrived. Staff were notified and they reset or turned on the hot water then it was available. The bathrooms and showers are too small.

Major problem no heat in the room for two days out of our three day stay! We froze to death trying to sleep. Staff claimed the local ordinances disallow heat usage till mid October for Green reasons but a nearby restaurant we had dinner at had heat. It was a very cold, rainy winter weather stay and we were miserable. I guess on the third day they broke down and turned on the heat with everybody complaining! To be honest and fair the staff were very friendly and helpful but I won’t be back

Pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was.

I booked this last minute based on the reviews. I agree the hotel room is surprising nice, clean and spacious. It had everything we needed for our stay.
When we arrived, the outside lights were not working and it was dark so it seemed a little sketchy since it was my first time seeing the place. The staff was super friendly and explained why it was so dark outside. Once inside the room, I was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was really good too. I would stay here again.

Wasn’t aware of the construction work going on before our stay - the whole place looks partially built and deserted. Staff were lovely but the whole place looked run down and didn’t feel that safe. Miles away from the centre - make sure you have a car!

Great place to stay, quiet area. Nice little cafe on the corner. Bus drop off right in front of hotel. If you don’t have a car there’s not much to walk to. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only complaint is that we were supposed to get a balcony room & we got a little patio out back that was not very comfortable to sit on. Breakfast was perfect

Even though we used the Navi to get to the hotel, but the hotel was hidden and too dark around it . We had to ask someone yo find the hotel . Good place, but soI won’t say this is a bad place, I just don’t understand why there is no normal passage, one passage is only for the disabled, I just don’t understand who they don’t respect, enters through an uneven road, to the reception through a disability ramp, and lift to the rooms only through degrees ,they did for the disabled only until the reception????,

We happened by chance on this beautiful hotel booking only 15 minutes before we arrived due to other issues. The reception team were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is delightful situated in a lovely quiet area outside the town centre but with a direct bus route from a short walk outside the hotel. We stayed 2 nights and on our first night we were upgraded to a huge apartment. The hotel is very clean and we will definitely stay here again on a visit to Como. Highly recommend thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely, updated, large and spotless rooms, very friendly staff. Only downside were very slim twin beds and thinish walls which require earlpugs, for a light sleeper like myself.

Too far from downtown to be of any use. Cost 20e hi uluros cab from Centro to hotel. This hotel is not in the Centro and very misleading to advertise it as in Centro. It is 6 km from the Centro and a 20 euro cab ride,walking to the center would be impossible

Hotel Rosso Vino is located approximately 10 minutes by car from the center of Como. The hotel staff was friendly, professional and very courteous. We had to book a last minute stay due to our original booking not accepting late check-ins (which I didn’t find out until I contacted them to make arrangements - but that’s a story for another review...). Rosso Vino reached out to us immediately after confirming the booking to let us know that someone would be available to check us in, and upon our arrival we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who offered us a complimentary welcome glass of wine. Our room was beautiful and clean and our stay was very pleasant. The hotel offers free parking and all staff we came in contact with was just so nice! Props to the woman who was working at the reception desk on the evening of 9/5 who went above and beyond to help us order a pizza delivery on a rainy evening. Besides taking care of several customers checking in, she helped a few guests order delivery pizza and even paid for ours because the place was cash only and we didn’t have enough cash on us at the time. Thank you, Hotel Rosso Vino for a great stay! I definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Como area and have a car.

As a first time, cross-country traveller, Hotel RossoVino was the perfect place to stop after a long journey. Upon entry, we were welcomed with refreshments and friendly staff which were very accommodating to any of our needs whether it was with directions, touristic information and could switch between languages to make sure every customer felt satisfied. In addition to the free, secure parking, our rooms were very clean and well-prepped. If it wasn't for our tight, on-going schedule we would've stayed longer.

The hotel is small but comfortable, the breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The only downside was that the kettle didn’t work in the kitchenette in the room we were in; it did work in other plugs but that wasn’t great with small children running around. Still, a very nice place, easy parking and not far from the autostrade.

Great Value, I Recommend A Car

First let me compliment the staff. The staff members are terrific and knowledgeable and if you are lucky enough to meet Klaudia you will find out what I mean. She is the nicest young lady you could meet. She is the kind of person you want your daughter to emulate.

This is a nice clean quiet hotel that is off the beaten path. It is moderately priced and offers free parking. I would say that a car is a must, but the bus service seems to run throughout the city.

The hotel is secluded and there is construction very nearby, but it seems to have stopped temporarily. The rooms were nice sized, and all upstairs rooms have balconies. The first-floor rooms have access to patios but be wary of mosquitoes. The television only afforded Italian channels which was fine by us because the internet was surprisingly fast and allowed us to watch real news.

The room was decent sized, the water pressure was average and although the bathroom was oversized, the shower door opening was rather small. The beds were firm. I did not notice many eateries or convenience stores nearby so consider acquiring provisions before retiring for the day. There are no ice machines but if you ask the front desk staff for plastic cups, they will freeze water and make ice cubes for you. All in all, we had a real nice stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Friendly staff showed us how to catch local buses to the old town. We ate dinner in town in front of the cathedral and on the lake. The cable car and walk to the light house was the highlight. Very clean and friendly staff, good air conditioning for a hot night!

Nice rooms and friendly staff. The hotel is located at quite place so you can sleep without any noise coming from the outside.
The only small thing I wish they have is an elevator to the 2nd floor, because if you have a have baggage you would need to carry it on an narrow stairs yourself.

We had to pay 5 euro cash (with no receipt) for my partner to stay despite the price not increasing when we typed in two people for the booking, however was offered a glass of wine on arrival. The location wasn't great, a little hard to find and no view, however, bonus was the free car parking. Comfortable and clean however in future would pay extra to be closer to town and the action. It was advertised as apartment but really, all we received was that of a room that was the size of a hotel room. Two buildings on either side of the apartments are currently under construction.

Great Value For Money - Clean, tidy, modern

It's very unusual to find a hotel or motel in Italy that is as modern as this one. Most are older buildings that come with a range of older type building problems. This is a purpose built hotel/motel style of complex with clean modern fittings and even a fridge and jug in the room which is a real plus. Fully air conditioned and a range of room options and lawns outside along with heaps of parking - makes it very appealing. Not as close to town as many others, but close enough to a main road with ample bus access. Keep in mind that if you drive into town, parking can be expensive and hard to find (not to mention trying to understand the crazy Italian signage). They don't have an on-site restaurant so breakfast is not included but there's a handy bar where you can pick up coffee and a croissant before heading into town. The staff were friendly and helpful and I was most impressed overall with the entire experience. I stayed for 5 nights and give this hotel a 10 out of 10.
Two comments that might help - it's very hard to find if you don't quite know where you're going. You turn off the main street and within 50 metres you have to make a hairpin turn into what looks like a parking area then turn left up a shingle driveway where you'll find a couple of building under construction and no signage. Keep going into the construction zone because the two completed buildings are the hotel. Reception is in the first building. Other than that - outstanding value for money.

This hotel is a little outside the town and not easy to find. The hotel is very new so they don't have signs yet, look out for a paper sign stuck on a tree. It's a new build but there's no building work going on at the moment. The staff were extremely welcoming, explaining the area and recommending local restaurants (we tried one of their recommendation and it was very average - \"buffalo\" in the name of the restaurant - try a different one). They don't serve breakfast but there is a little cafe just down the road offering pastries and suchlike. The room was clean, modern, comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The area was very quiet and they offer free parking (one of the reasons for choosing this hotel in the first place). All in all a very decent hotel if you're just using the hotel as a base for exploring the area (they told us they were planning on having a pool later next year). The staff were great, very welcoming, friendly and welcoming. Will stay again next time we're in the area.

Rooms are beautiful and well equipped. Some parts of the hotel are under construction and the landscaping is not quite finished yet. Nice private location. The staff are very helpful. It is a fair distance from the Historical part of Como but there are good bus connections. It is a great value for the money and we would stay there again.

Good for new - and will get better!

Booked very easily at short notice on Hotels.com app. I was travelling by car back from Northern Italy to UK (nr Portsmouth).

NB This hotel was NEWLY OPENED (mid-May 2016). Approach and surroundings still “work in progress”.Everything INSIDE was decent and sparklingly clean. The main issue is local regulations have been slow to grant permissions for signage. Hopefully soon to be resolved.
Large parking areas both ground-level and underground. Immediate access is through remote-controlled gates and this needs better explanation and possibly *even more* automation/ clear notices to help new arrivals. Once you know the system, it’s fine!
The very enthusiastic and personable owner had my reservation details on his system although paperwork appears “interim”.
A lot of thought has been put into the design, including “green” energy-efficient lighting in the public areas. The room was above-average size, with a big bathroom area – all very clean and tidy. There was basic hot drinks-making kit (but there is NO FOOD on-site to ask for milk for my tea). The large bed was very comfortable.
Electric points were not as many as expected – and some incorporated into the lighting switch blocks. These were not too happy with my UK adapter, although perfectly good for Italian/ continental plugs.
There was no breakfast facilities but I was happy to leave early (keys left at unmanned reception) and find something on the road.
I’m happy to recommend this hotel for those in the area.

Local du PDJ un peu petit et peu chauffé.
Du vrai pain à la place du pain industriel pré coupé serait un plus.
Pour le personnel, la chambre et le personnel c’est top.
Avoir un parking est vraiment appréciable et l’arrêt de bus à proximité pour aller à Como est très pratique.

Das Personal vor Ort war sehr nett auch das Hotel ist in Ordnung.
Was aber der totale Horror ist, ist das Management des Hotels. Wir hatten irrtümlicherweise 2 Zimmer reserviert, benötigten aber nur 1 Zimmer. Als wir dies vor Ort klären wollten, sah es ganz gut aus. Ebenfalls auch Hotels.com hat uns versichert, dies sollte kein Problem sein. Dann der Schock, das Management verweigerte uns die Rückerstattung. Nach direkter mehrmaliger Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Hotel, dann nochmals der Schock: es war nicht der Fehler des Hotels, keine Rückerstattung. Fakt: obwohl es keine Benutzung des 2. Zimmers gab, keine Rückerstattung. Eine solche bodenlose Frechheit haben wir noch nie erlebt, was ist das für eine Handhabung eines Hotelsmanagents, null Kundenfreundlichkeit. So sollte man ein solches Problem nie lösen. Nie mehr werden wir diese Hotelkette berücksichtigen. Hier wurde einfaches alles falsch gemacht.

Für mich war es gut.
Frühstück war ein klassisches Hotel Frühstück,
Mit billiges ungesunden Zutaten. Haben aber für die eine Nacht auch nicht mehr erwartet.
Das Personal am Check in war super nett und professionell. Die zwei Baustellen Häuser zwischen den zwei Hotelhäusern geben kein schönes Bild für die Unterkunft ab.

Très bien dans l'ensemble. Dommage que nous avons besoin spécifié que nous avons une petite handicapée lors de la réservation et ils nous ont donné une chambre au 1er étage sans ascenseur. Monter et descendre la poussette, c'était sportif. À part cela, le reste a été très satisfaisant

Kamer was schoon, bed goed. Erg warm op de kamer en verwarming reageerde niet op thermostaat. Erg gehorige gebouw. Alle geliiden van de naastgelegen kamer duidelijk hoorbaar inclusief geblaf van hond. Op de gang liggen tegels en ieder geluidje dringt door tot op de kamer. Oordoppen absolute noodzaak voor enige nachtrust. Hotel ligt buiten het toeristiscbe deel van Como. Niet veelte doen in omgeving.

Neues, sehr sauberes Hotel. Die kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit macht das Hotel sehr attraktiv. Die Busverbindung ist vor der Tür. Ich werde definitiv das Hotel wieder in Anspruch nahmen und kann es jeden empfehlen.

Sjovt sted, lidt off- Broadwsy, umiddelbart ser indkørsel mm. ikke lovende ud, men der er ved at blive bygget til. Selve det lille hotel er fint, meget venlig modtagelse med et glas vin og smilende hjælpsomhed. Værelse fint med en stor altan som ekstra attraktion.
