Family of 5 with 3 young children and we had an amazing time all week. We stayed at Ventus at Marina which was central to everything like the delicious breakfast buffet, the Mercado Dolores for lunch and within walking distance to the neighboring resort hotel Marina El Cid. Hotel Marina is where all the fun is. They had water slides, a jumping cliff, and pool events everyday at 1pm. We loved how we were able to enjoy from all 3 resorts without having to pay extra. These resorts are a mix of relaxation and fun entertainment. We enjoyed their daily evening shows. We loved that we had beach access. They did have sargassum but the hotel did their best to clean it up and we still had a beautiful view from our room balcony. Also, the staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. Can’t recommend this resort enough.

Absolutely amazing staff. I have to admit that reading reviews before going I was kind of hesitant to book. But we have it a try. It exceeded our expectations and then some. We hadn’t eaten a 3 bedroom suite that was over 2800 sq/ft and automatically came with platinum club perks. The butler service was a great feature and Omar and Gerson both did a great job and helped us out everywhere needed. Enrique was a waiter in the marina Alhambra buffet and so good and friendly. Angel at the marina lobby bar mixed the best drinks. Luis was a great server at the all ages infinity pool. Our kids loved all of the activities staff at the pools and doing crafts.
The staff absolutely worked so hard trying to keep the beach clear of saragassum but i don’t think it is possible in this area. Beach had nice sand but ocean was not swimmable or anything because of the massive amounts of saragassum.
Pools were all amazing. The slide at el marina is a little fast and rough but is still a lot of fun with some common sense. The cliff/rock jumping area was probably one of the best features that we have found at any pool at a resort for kids. Our kids (8 and 10) absolutely loved this feature and couldn’t get enough of it.

The facilities were very nice and the food was good. We were disappointed in just two things- the beach was not useable. It had brown water because of some barricades meant to control seaweed. Additionally, we had difficulty getting reservations for the actual restaurants unless we wanted to eat at 5pm or 930. Seemingly having a platinum status allows you to make reservations more easily. It would have been better if we had made resrevations the first day and then again the second because you can make two reservations at a time- which was not known to us until day 2. Thankfully the buffet served good food. The pools were beautiful. The staff were friendly and did a great job serving the drinks around the pool. We enjoyed being able to move through the properties and thought that the sister property across the street offered an entirely different vibe that was also enjoyable. Our room was the basic junior suite, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The murphy bed was also comfortable. The rooms were nice and so were the common facilities. The pickle ball courts felt brand new! We truly enjoyed our stay. Pro tip, make food reservations as soon as possible.

I specifically booked two rooms at the Ventus hotel, as a returning guest to El Cid was familiar with the layout and where all the restaurants, bars and pools were located. Although cheaper, I intentionally avoided the Ventus Ha hotel because it is across the street and farther from the main restaurants and pools.

Somehow, despite selecting the Ventus hotel, the rooms I booked ended up being for the Ventus Ha hotel. This makes no sense. Choosing one hotel and being assigned to another feels misleading at best. In fact, my receipt says Ventus, not Ventus Ha.

When I arrived, my transportation dropped me off at Ventus, and my receipt clearly stated Ventus. Despite that, I was told my reservation was for Ventus Ha.

The worst part of the experience was how it was handled. The manager at Ventus Ha was dismissive and placed all the blame on me. There was no empathy, no apology, and no effort to fix the situation. He didn’t offer any help at all, not even assistance with dinner reservations, which were already fully booked for several nights. Rather, he made it clear it was my fault.

After looking into it further, it seems like this may not be an isolated issue. Others have complained of booking at Ventus and being assigned to Ventus Ha. It raises serious concerns about overbooking and moving guests to a less desirable property, even when they booked something else.

This situation put a significant damper on our trip. Completely unacceptable for a resort at this price point.

The bed was so so - the quality of bedding was not good. It was hard to get dinner reservations even though most restaurants had empty tables. We had to do buffet food several nights. On a positive note, there was a lot to do & we loved all the various pool options. The ocean was not in great shape so swimming was not an option & it smelled bad from all the seaweed.

The manager at the Ventus front desk was rude and indifferent to our questions and concerns. She literally was laughing at us when I asked to have my daughter, whom was staying in a room by herself and had paid over 4 thousand dollars for that room, stay at least in the same building as me. They put her in a completely different building. Neither would honor our request for 2 double beds. She was rude and obnoxious. On top of that, we could not get a dinner reservation at any of the Restaraunts for the first 4 days that we were there. We had no choice but to eat at the buffet. We paid for an all inclusive stay, not to have to stand in line for an hour to eat in the buffet. On top of it all, our phones in our rooms did not work. I requested for someone to come fix it 8 times. Someone came once and said it was fixed, but it was not. I couldn’t call room to room. After requesting several more times and no one coming to try and fix it, I gave up. So we were without a phone the entire week. Horrible customer service. Very frustrating.

Its basically an oasis in the middle of a mangrove swamp. Town is close, water was better there. The reef is worth the swim.

In general, this resort was clean and staff are friendly. My family stayed in Ventus Ha and the facilities are newer and a lot calmer than the main resort. The only thing that I can suggest would be to have faster guest services. I was in line on the front desk to have my key card changed because it deactivated somehow and I waited for 30 minutes because there was only 1 person in the front desk around 6pm. Also, it took more that an hour for room service in the late afternoon.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We wanted a resort on the ocean but you had to make an effort to spend time at the parts of the resort where the ocean was visible. The beach in front of the resort was not great, and this general Puerto Morelos area is not great for folks who love spending time at the beach. It was nice being able to go between the 3 resorts, all with their own theme and restaurants. If we went back to this same resort in the future, we’d probably stay at Ventus Ha instead since being nearer the ocean wasn’t an actual plus. We also liked 2 restaurants at Ha best out of the entire group of resorts. They were accommodating to food allergies. Buffets were not the greatest but we found the items we liked best. Be sure to make dinner reservations asap. The pools were very clean and waiters consistently walked around taking drink orders. Staff stopped by the room daily to drop off bottled water, soda, beer, wine, and champs. The adults never ordered room service but it was available 24:7. Souvenir stores on the resort were reasonably priced. This was our first time to Mexico, and wish we would have known about the tip culture. It is extremely customary to tip during most interactions with staff, so next time we’ll plan on having a lot more smaller bills with us. It was a nice trip and service and accommodations were reasonable considering the reservation price point. We wish there was more entertainment into the late night that didn’t conflict with late dinners.

The food itself was mediocre. I wouldn’t suggest the Mexican restaurant, it was anything but that. The property was clean and well-kept.

Some things need improving here. It was impossible to get a restaurant dinner reservation and the buffets were jammed. The pools were cold and the hot tubs were dirty. Towel availability was not consistent. Room service was very slow (over an hour at times, never at others). The beach was unusable.

We stayed for a week if my family and it was pretty decent. The food was good, staff is nice, and the resort is well kept. The only downside is this resort does not have a beach that you would want to spend any time on, the water is kinda gross looking too, so that was a bit of a disappointment. However, there are a lot of pools, and they are well kept. All in all this is a family friendly resort for people who want to just sit by the pool and tan, have a drink, and get up periodically to get something to eat.

Overall, we had a great experience at Venus El Cid Resort & Spa! The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and there’s a lot to enjoy once you settle in.

That said, our arrival wasn’t as welcoming as we expected. We arrived late, and unfortunately, there was no proper greeting or guidance when we got to the hotel. The staff member who handed us the keys did say “welcome,” but it didn’t feel like the warm, hospitable arrival you usually look forward to at a resort.

Another thing to note is that the resort is quite large, which is great but it can also be confusing at first. Even with the map, it was a bit overwhelming and not very easy to follow. Thankfully, by around the fourth day, we finally got the hang of where everything was.

Overall, still a very enjoyable stay, just a few areas that could improve the first impression and navigation experience.!

The room was assigned right next to the staircase, and it was extremely noisy. People were chatting late into the night, some were drunk, and there were even people arguing loudly at the staircase at 2 a.m. I called security three times, but they took a long time to arrive.

I went to the front desk to complain and requested a room change. The staff then assigned me another room in a different building—but in the exact same location. Are you kidding me?

On top of that, I was told I had to check out at 12 p.m. and could only move into the new room at 3 p.m. There was absolutely no apology in their attitude—just complete indifference.

When I asked where the manager was and said this was unacceptable, he told me he was the manager. I also have video recordings of the argument that happened during the night.

Overall our stay was okay, nothing was terribly wrong with our stay but it was by no means an elevated experience. We opted for the platinum family suite with a swim-out room for our family. Upon arrival we checked in through the platinum lounge which was nice and quick, although we were informed our room was not ready even though it was after check in time and were advised just to come back in an hour. Nothing was explained at check in about where to eat or what to do and there was no information in the room so it was left to us to wander around trying to figure things out. There is no real additional perks for paying for platinum level so I would advise against that, service around around the pools was very slow and it was quicker just to get drinks yourself even if that meant standing in line for half an hour. There are no designated platinum areas around the pool so if you don’t go first thing in the morning to leave a towel or personal items you won’t get a spot. The lunch spot had a nice variety but there wasn’t anywhere to just get easy snacks to have around the pool, you had to go to a specific building and again wait in lineups. In the platinum lounge you could get better liquor but they had no mix so again you had to go get a glass of whatever liquor you wanted then go wait in the bar line to add any mixes or ice you needed. It’s been our second year here. The place is nice and quiet. You have buffet options but it’s hard to make a reservation to a restaurant. If you want a pristine beach, don’t go here! They are working hard to clean it but the seaweed can be overwhelming ( and smelly!) Pools are wonderful though ( I wish they were heated like last year). Staff is wonderful - friendly and courteous!

Our visit to Ventus Ha was 4 out of 5. The grounds have lush vegetation. I was shocked that I didn't get any mosquito bites with all the water features and I always get bitten.

Food- specialty restaurants were superb. Italian-get the swordfish! Margarita pizza, clam chowder were great too.A'kat-the chicken at lunch was our fave. That bread with green sauce! Ask for Elvis.French-quiche Lorraine, onion soup,pork loin & creme brule. Room service is 24hrs and it was top tier. Cheese quesadillas and cheesecake hit the spot.

Drinks- chahouk at waves bar was our fave. Margaritas were good. Specify a particular brand. El Jimador tequila, Barcelo solera rum were our choices. Dos equis on tap.

Pools - plenty of options but unfortunately they were cold. We spent our time in the largest hot tubs we've ever seen. Towel cards are a bummer. Rooftop pool had plenty of places to relax with a bar but no food.

Beach is nice to look at but not swimmable due to the seaweed and the large barriers. Kept seeing kids slide on the barriers because of algae.

Room - cleaned daily with thick duvet and blankets. Pillows were heavenly. Plenty of soap, lotion & bug repellent was a nice touch. Hated the room key is a card. Loved the chain for the door. Tip the mini bar attendant for extra beer.

Use of all 3 properties was a plus. Golf carts always willing to give you a ride. Please tip a dollar or 2.

Negative-buffets are very limited & not good. Beef wellington was cold. Breakfast was very lacking.

Food was good, although a couple times we found there were very little options.
The kids enjoyed the pool with the slide except the water was FREEZING! In fact, it was freezing in every pool except the one heated pool.
The beach was the big disappointment for us. The main beach photo on Expedia is completely misleading. There are these massive barriers all in the water to prevent beach erosion (from what we were told), but it literally means you can’t swim in the ocean. We know of a few people that actually walked off site to the front of another resort further away just to swim at a nice beach.
The staff were all friendly. Shows were good!
We weren’t able to get any dinner reservations, so for this reason and the awful beach, we would not be back.
Also a good portion of the resort is actually timeshare owners. So if you like a lively fun resort, this would not be the place.

Our stay at Ventus El Cid had several frustrations that made the experience disappointing overall.

For the first 5/7 nights we couldn’t get dinner reservations at all, and after that the only times available were around 9:00 PM, which is very late when traveling with kids. Even when using the buffet, there were long lines 45 min or more every evening.

We were placed in a room right next to construction, and the noise woke the kids multiple mornings. Room upgrades were available, but only for an additional $60 per night, which felt excessive given the circumstances.

The resort advertises 50% discounts on activities when booking through Expedia, but these discounts were not consistently honored — for example with spa massages $379USD. Laundry services were also very expensive; washing just 2 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters cost about $50.

Internet access was limited to 2 devices per room even we were 4 , and you must pay extra per device per day. The internet also cuts off immediately at checkout time, which felt unnecessary. Late checkout is charged, and even after paying for it, our door cards stopped working at noon and had to be reactivated.

Another surprise was that “all-inclusive” guests are not allowed in the executive member pools or certain areas, which wasn’t made clear beforehand.

Overall, the resort has potential, but the extra fees, and inconvenience around dining and room issues made the stay more stressful than relaxing.
Contacted Expedia.! NO HELP!

Absolutely amazing stay. The service was the best I’ve ever had, and the food was incredible. All three hotels were beautiful, with HA being more secluded and quiet, the rooftop infinity pool is incredible! While the beach isn’t ideal for swimming, the many pools more than make up for it. Tons of great restaurants on site.. be sure to make reservations early as they fill up fast.

Great variety of food options, great entertainment for adults and children, beautiful rooms and well kept properties. Would highly recommend. Travelled with four children (7-12 years old) and two seniors. We were a group of 8 occupying two rooms. We had a 15-20 minute wait for the dinner buffet one night of the seven we were there - perfectly acceptable as there is a lobby bar beside the entrance to the buffet.

Room and staff was excellent! We have stayed here many times but this is the first time the infinity pool was not heated. We usually use that pool all the time, this trip nobody was using it as it was too cold.

The hotel listened to my requests
Our butlers were fantastic and took care of everything
The amenities were beautiful
The food was fabulous

This is a great resort. Beautiful and well maintained. The food is really good. Especially the lunch buffet by the pool. Best we’ve had in Riviera Maya.

The overall resort was clean and easy to find your way around. Plenty of food options. Great to have access to the other resorts. Pools were way too cold. The beach wasn’t great but there were still activities. The staff were very nice.

Check in process crazy long…45 mins despite platinum status. Checkout not easy either. Odd

Impossible to get a reservation at a nl time (6-8) unless VIp or platinum. Even then is tough.

Staff were great. Rooms great. Looks great.

Everything was amazing. We booked VIP which gave us nothing, no upgrades. That was disappointing. Food was great. We were able to book a few restaurants. The Japanese one was our favorite. Some were late bookings. The infinity adult only pool was my favorite. Went on an excursion that the resort helped us book. It was fun.

The people who work there and the property are what makes this resort awesome. It is great that they have numerous golf carts to move you around the resort because it is fairly large, unfortunately, all of them seem to have been gas powered. The smell from exhaust and noise all throughout the day and evening from the carts were a bit much. It would be nice to see that the resort is trying to go over to electric carts.

This stay was very unwelcoming. When we first checked in we was given our room key but no directions to our room. Didn’t receive a tour or any information on the restaurants or events going on the resort for the days we were staying. Even the other tourist were rude & racist towards us with their little comments when they saw us “this is my first time seeing black people in the resort”
