The room was clean. I wish the restaurant staff was a bit more informed, they didn't know if the food was halal or not. It took them twenty minutes to find out. The food is also awful, I wouldn't recommend having your lunch or dinner there, same goes for the room service. Comparatively, Thai food is a lot better than Western food. This was our first stay at this hotel, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It’s within walking distance of the train station, as well as many bars and restaurants. They even offered a tuk-tuk service to and from the station when needed. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the room included a mini fridge and a smart TV to play our music. The pool was nice, with great views of the city. I’d definitely come back!

They broke my Suitecase in the Storage, when I was one week in Koh Samui After I came back to the Hotel my suitecase was broken.
They told me that they wont pay for it and cant Tell if it was my fault ore the Hotel staff although I had pictures before I left where it was not broken and After I came when it was broken.
Terrible guest Service ! Breaking someones Luggage and then not taking the responsibillite unbelivable.

One of the best beds for a hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Premium quality, sheets were great everything super clean each day. Will definitely stay here again. In fact, coming next week and already booked. Full disclosure, location wise is not perfect. Not walkable to anything, but easy to get up with Motorcycle taxi or regular taxi and the quality of the hotel makes up for any minor inconvenience in location.

It's not really near the train station...

The hotel room, facilities and service were all very good. But its location is not great. There's nothing - cafe, restaurants, shops, etc. - nearby. Definitely not the train stations (subway and airport). I wanted to just walk to and from the stations. But it was too far for me. There is a hotel shuttle but you need to follow the schedule. Foot massage at the ground floor was very good...

Very clean, quite, well maintained hotel. Terrific staff, friendly, helpful, efficient. I thought it would be a easy walk from the Makkasan metro stop to the hotel given the short distance on the map (<500m). It is short, but the metro exit is the opposite direction from the hotel, so you double the distance walking out and then down to the street level. Also, there is no sidewalk on the road from the metro to the hotel. It's not the hotel's fault, but just a friendly notice to future guests who plan to walk from the metro to the hotel.

We liked the proximity to the Petchaberri MRT Station and Airport link. The Tuk-Tuk shuttle is nice because it takes you right to the MRT station. The only complaint we had was that the people at the reception desk did not make it clear to us that the money we were paying for the breakfast buffet was just for one day and not for the whole time we were there, so we ended up having to pay more for the buffet than was expected.

I loved this hotel so much! The room was very comfortable, and the staff was very attentive to all my needs. The breakfast had such a variety of food. The all day dining was nice after being out in hectic Bangkok city. The property was close to the train station, and they had an hourly schedule to take you to the train station. They also would pick you up at the train station. I felt they were sincerely concerned for my every need.

while it looks convenient on a map, this hotel's location is poor. You cannot walk from the train stations to the hotel as it is on a street with no sidewalk, heavy traffic, and there are no stores for a half mile in each direction. There is no access to the south side as well so you have to take the hotel tuk-tuk or a taxi to get to the train station. Hotel tuk-tuk runs every 30 minutes.

You can get to the airport train station with less of a walk but you will need to walk over train tracks in order to do so. Does that sound terrible with luggage? you bet it is.

This hotel is great, close to the train and they have a free tuk tuk to take you to the train every half hour. They also pick you up.
Not much as far as places to eat around unless you take the train to go somewhere. Breakfast is not included and they charge 380 baht per day per person if you want to eat there.

It was a pleasant stay except for the power outage on 3 November. The hotel might want to consider ramping up UPS or at least let the guests know that they’re still warm shower available in the room so guests don’t have to keep waiting for the power supply to come back.

Location of Hotel is close to Airport Rail, but then it's not easy to reach anywhere by foot as there is just nothing close to the property, not even an 7-11 nor family mart.
Hotel rooms looks new, but you can still spot some stains on the sofas (in the lobby and my room).
Breakfast is adequate :)

Great hotel, very close to central Bangkok where they offer a free shuttle bus service from the hotel and also very close with free shuttle to the makkasan rail where you can catch the airport express train which takes you directly to the BKK Airport.
Room service is a little expensive but the rooms are very comfortable and clean.

Hotel Mercure Makkasan!! What can I say? It’s my second stay at this facility. First time was with friends, and the second time as a solo traveler. It is right next to the train station that takes you to and from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. It is a short walk to the Pretchaburi Station on the metro line. It provides a shuttle service to the metro station, airport connection train line, and to mid-city. The hotel is clean, buffet breakfast choices numerous, the restaurant is economical, the in-house massage parlor excellent, et cetera, et cetera. I don’t see myself picking any other hotel when I’m in Bangkok. Did I mention that the staff are warm, helpful, and extremely respectful? You couldn’t go wrong with HOTEL MERCURE MAKKASAN. A big KUDOS to the management and staff of the wonderful establishment!!

Quiet and comfortable but not too great location

Chose this place because it was near the airport link rail station. While it is near, walking in the hot weather or when it is raining can be a problem. There is a complimentary shuttle but it is every half hour. The walk is less than 10mins and so, really depends on whether you want to the wait the half hour. The hotel itself is good, clean and everything you expect from a Mercure. Be prepared that there is not much shopping/food near the hotel.

I enjoyed the stay at Mercure Bangkok Makkasan. I stayed for 6 nights and gym every morning. The gym was fine except for some mosquitoes.
Room was good, clean and cosy. Mercure was out of the way, but the hotel tuk tuk was regularly and serves its purpose. Not a problem to get to the station, a 2 minutes ride from the hotel to Petchaburi station.
I shop at MKB and Pratunum Fashion Mall. The T shirts for gents were nice and I like the sport wear like Adidas, Nike and UA. However, I found out later that I could get cheaper at the night bazaar around Platunum. So for those who wants to make your money worth buy only at night market.
Klong Toei Wet market is interesting. It is huge and you can find many different vegetables, pork, sea food, fruits, dry stuff. Get prepared as the path is wet. For street food, you should visit Ruam Sab Market, it is huge and covered.
Yaowarat is one of my favourites for lunch and dinner, but Nana Market is a disappointment.
If you love live prawn, go to Neon Market and scoop your live prawns and BBQ them. Other than that the seafood at the many stalls may not be fresh and good. Not cheap though.

I gym, eat, shop and walk. I like the connectivity of the trains.

The hotel is beautiful and modern. The staff are very friendly and kind and very keen for you to rate them well on trip advisor. My only complaint is the lack of soundproofing which was made more apparent as I had very noisy neighbours. Without the noisy guests (which is in no way the fault of the hotel) I would rate this hotel highly.

Mercure Makkasan is an EXCELLENT hotel with SUPER EXCELLENT STAFFS ESPECIALLY MS STELLA at the front desk.

Also not to forget Ms Gunjan of Hotels.com for helping all the way through in booking Mercure Makkasan at the very last minute and at the same time enabling us to be able to check-out of Prince Palace Hotel Bangkok a so acclaimed 5-star nightmare hotel without any hassle

We checked-in late night to the excellent Mercure Makkasan since our earlier booked hotel the Prince Palace Hotel Bangkok a so acclaimed 5-star turned out to be a a 3-star nightmare with a stench smell, dusty, problem with electric etc.

Great overnight, connection flight stay

Handy for flight connections and clean! We needed somewhere to stay for an overnight stay only to then get to the airport early in the morning.
This hotel is just perfect, 3 mins from Massaman airport link station. The staff drove us for free to the station with the luggage even if it was very early in the morning.
The hotel is in very good condition. The rooms are small but very clean and cosy. Definitely good value for money. There is also a pool bar/restaurant open till late, very handy when you arrive in town late at night. If the purpose is an overnight stay for a flight connection this place is great!

The staff hospitality was excellent. The location is away from the main shopping area and 10 minutes walking distance from nearest MRT. However, shuttle service is available every half hour to Makkasan/ Petchburi MRT. Shuttle service to Central World is available every 2 hours. This should be made known to the guests as we didn’t know until our last day. The breakfast buffet can be much better. They served the same dishes, same breads and same type of fruits throughout the 5 days we spent there.

No complaints at all. Staff were helpful, swimming pool was amazing and the breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and tasted great! The hotel access isn't the best but they make up for it by having a shuttle service for the immediate area (metro and airport train stations) and will sort taxi services for you.
