At Lonely Traveler Productions, we had a thoroughly positive stay at the Anya Nana Hotel. Kung especially enjoyed the calm, comfortable atmosphere—it was exactly what we needed after long days of filming.
We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which made the stay even more comfortable and added a nice touch to the experience. It turned out to be a great place to record the podcast from as well—quiet enough to work, yet still right in the heart of Bangkok.
The hotel proved to be a perfect spot to unwind, with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a relaxed vibe that makes switching off very easy. For anyone needing a convenient Bangkok base that still feels peaceful, this property delivers excellent value. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and definitely one we would consider again when we need a proper break between shoots.

Lonely Traveler Productions recently stayed at the Anya Nana Hotel in Bangkok, and we were genuinely impressed with the experience.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and professional. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful — exactly what you need after travelling into a busy city like Bangkok.
The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. Everything felt well maintained and thoughtfully arranged. The bed was excellent, the air conditioning worked perfectly (a must in Thailand), and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable — which is particularly important for us when we’re filming, editing, and uploading content.
Breakfast was another highlight. A good selection of both Thai and international options, fresh and well presented. It was a great way to start the day before heading out to explore the city or begin recording.
Location-wise, Anya Nana Hotel is well positioned for accessing central Bangkok. Transport links are convenient, and you’re close enough to the action while still having a comfortable base to return to at the end of the day.
Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay. For comfort, value, and service, Anya Nana Hotel delivered on all fronts. Lonely Traveler Productions left feeling satisfied and well looked after — and we would absolutely stay there again on our next Bangkok visit.

Location is the best, internet price/offer deal was best, breakfast was wonderful. A bit dirty linen as mostly indian clients did not attend to hygeinic living standards.
Two things can make it one of the best, privide iron on demand ir put a set in all rooms and also hathroom flipflops were missing and this made them dirty easily

BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL ...

IT WAS 1 OF THE WORST THAT I BOOKED... First of all we found out that there REAL NAME was not UNICO EXPRESS but ANYA HOTEL. I didn't know why if they try to avoid tax. When we made the check in they didn't find our bookings but after the receptionist asked inside they find it in A File.
But the worst that they can do... when we paid another 800thb for A Half-day (they have in there conditions). AT 6PM They switch out the electricity and tell us that we have to leave. I show here the visa recite that a few hours ago I paid extra for a half day but they insist that for them half day is 6hrs not 12 hrs. WHAT A SHAME. BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL.As also the street surroundings are not from thailand. They from Arabic countries etc

Don’t stay at the Unico Express

Poor service (either staff are not around or they ignore you because they are staring at their phones), room amenities: bathroom - there are no places to hang anything - no towel racks or hooks, and poor drainage, so you stand in 3 inches of water while showering; there is only one power outlet in the entire room (this was a double room) only two cheap hangers in closet. Breakfast is awful, cold coffee and outdoor sitting area is filthy. Favorite response to any questions is “no have”. Wifi set up doesn’t remember your devices so you have to relog in every 15 min.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

1. Door keys don't always work, so you need to go to front desk multiple times a day to get them to fix it.
2. Front desk staff called me a liar when I told them the key still wasn't working and made me prove it to them, and then they laughed when I was upset that they called me a liar.
3. Housekeeping will knock on your door and wake you up early in the morning to ask if you want your room cleaned. They do not wait till a reasonable time to expect that you would be awake.
4. When I complained about the 3 points above the best they offered was \"sorry\".
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
5. The hallways are tiled so they echo. When guests come through the hotel at 2am you can hear them very loudly. When housekeeping wheels their cart and uses loud rustling plastic bags in the hallways early in the morning every room on the floor can hear the noise and it will wake you up.
6. The hotel is in a dangerous area which is surrounded by Arabs.
7. You can smell urine when you walk outside the hotel, it is filthy.
8. The street the hotel is on is one-way and the traffic is terrible therefore good luck getting a taxi or a tuk tuk or anything to take you to the hotel because they have to go around the long way and they want to charge you double for it.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Staff was helpful but we heard some people complaining n about bed bugs. We didn’t have this issue.
Location ok but a bit far from khao san road and temples- we too the boat on the river behind the hotel and taxis.

We stayed in a private room for four nights and we were impressed with central location and room design even though hotel doesn’t look soecuL on the outside or in the lobby. However the music blasting outside from 9 on til 3 am was unbearable to say the least. We were switched to the room in the middle for the last two nights after fighting about it w the manager. Our room wasn’t cleaned though. After asking front desk numerous times about excursion to ang tong National Park we weren’t provided any info and ended up booking the trip outside.We were not happy with this hotel.

4 days without internet in the whole building, very young and unprofessional staff laughed at everyone's complaints about it, too busy chatting and looking at their phones. And no English language channels on the TV. You can get much better for the same price. Avoid.

Staying in a noisy , dirty, construction site.

This so called hotel is a absoulute rip off. A total misrepresentation of what is shown and told on there site. Ig is going throigh major renovation boulding work while guest are trying to have a relaxing holiday. The rooms are old, small, warn out and dirty. 40 years of travel and 100s lf hotels this ks the worst exsperiance lf my life. Shame kn the owners and managers for not informing guest of the construction site which ks this poor example lf a hotel before they happily take your money. I feel Hotel .com has part liability in this fiasco. My tust in Hotel.com ks very diminished. Totally Spoiled my trip to Bangkok.

Residue from the renovation not cleaned up

I was given a room which appeared to me as newly renovated which i think in the new wing (I was in this hotel May 2017 but didnt know there is such a wing, so i guess must be new). The room is spacious but the floor was not cleaned properly, especially the toilet flooring as there was still lots of dust, or white cement, apparently residue from the renovation which was not cleaned up. I had to use the sprayer to spray away the floor in order to keep my feet clean and free of dust. Apart from that, this hotel caters to my needs as it is near an international hospital which i need to visit.

Tradesmen repairs in Thailand are rarely up to 1st world standards: they have a temporary feel about them and appearance is less than attractive. This was evident in my room. Bug control in my room seemed to be lacking. Otherwise the cleaning staff were regular and thorough and everyone was very courteous. There was nowhere to sit to eat, write or use a laptop, no clock, no electric kettle and no power outlet in the bathroom. In all fairness some of this you can put down to \"you get what you pay for\".

Worst experience!

The exterior of the hotel is amazing, but when I checked in my room of (1000Baht) I was horrified. The bathroom, the lighting of the room is disappointing in extreme level.Then I thought that upgrading to an expensive room might be the other way , but it was still the same. The room was big, the bathroom was nice but the lightings were depressing and so dark. The lady who was the manager in the front desk was very helpful, the staffs are very nice but the interior of every single room needs to be changed, especially the lightings which are depressing and makes me think that I am in a hospital. I am never going to that hotel again. I am sorry.

Room was alittle dirty, pillow and bedsheet had some red stain which I thought was blood when I first saw it. No wi-fi available in room, only available in the hotel lobby. Wi-fi there was unstable (one min it was fast, another min it was slow)
Service was great though, staffs there are friendly and helpful .
Oh, only soap and shampoo are provided in the toilet, no toothbrush or toothpaste. No hangers provided too. Not sure if this is normal for a 3 star hotel.

Hotel staff were OK, but not the friendliest I've encountered in my 7 visits to Bangkok. Seemed to be in need of renovation as most of it seemed a bit old and dated. Only slept here so was suitable for sleeping but I don't think I would stay again as it wasn't the most welcoming of hotels I've stayed in and I was unhappy that the staff tried to charge me 400 baht for a taxi to the airport and telling me it wasn't possible to get a metered taxi. I then walked outside onto the sidewalk outside the hotel and immediately got a metered taxi so not sure why I was told it was not possible to get a metered taxi. Nothing major, but just thought they were trying to overcharge me.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Small room but good value for the money. Very convenient to Bumrungrad Hospital, restaurants (Arabic, Middle Eastern, Indian, Thai), easy access to SkyTrain stations. We were pleased with our stay and grateful to the staff for their patience and courtesy.

The hotel is under construction so lot of noise. I paid for extra night and arrived at 5.45 am and was refused check in after pleading they allowed. Then the room was not cleaned that day. After argument they said since I've checked in the morning they can't clean and change torn towels , after arguing and explaining ( all this happened with only 1 lady called Marisa ). That I'm paying for 2 nights and staying for 1 she agreed.

Hope to see much better next time.

Now a days rooms 50$ per rnight can enjoy free wifi almost in all the rooms.
Very odd to come fown to lobby to have wifi. Better to provide a mini bar.
Better to have a food list in the room with price.

OK this hotel is not for everyone.
I have lived in Thailand for 15 years so I know my way arond.
The staff all speak English and are super friendly.
This hotel is in the \"Arab/ African street /soi\" .
I was the only white guy there.
I had great breskfast conversations with people from countries that normally would not interact with me.
The food is good not great
I was upgraded to a superior room beacause I smailed and spoke Thai.

Hotel is located in the heart of city and major attractions are near to the hotel.

However dont expect WIFI signal to reach your room since wifi is limited only to lobby as per policy. Thats worse.

Food was good and charged reasonable, food is limited only to thai cuisine.. so dont expect much variety.

Staff is friendly and does answer you in all possible manner. Person called 'Fluk' is quite friendly n helpful..

The room we got was tiny and the bed had this terrible musty smell. The air-conditioning was broken and blew out very warm followed by very cold gusts of air. The walls were so thin that when the sound of that air-conditioning wasn't keeping us up, they sound of doors slamming was. We had a peek at the room in front of ours when it was open for cleaning and that looked a lot better.

Our flight was delayed and we arrived only at 4:00 am. Had to take a different room for one night but were transferred into a very nice and clean room the next day. Daily housekeeping kept everything very clean, floors, bedding, etc. and supplied toiletries and water daily. The staff was very obliging and helpful and gave us all kinds of sight seeing information. We used Public transit extensively, which can easily be reached. We also took the water taxi on the adjacent canal into downtown. There are many different restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We enjoyed the breakfast in the hotel, a variety of hot dishes, cereal, toast, etc., went out for dinner, but the hotel also serves lunches and dinners in the spacious and bright breakfast/dining room. Very good WiFi only worked in lobby and dining room. 3 elevators serve the 9 floors. The neighbourhood in one direction was better than in the other but we had no problem walking in the evenings. Can recommend.

I had to stay there from 9am to 9pm so had to book 2 days which is ok. I tried to explain the situation to the staff over the phone (about late check-in) but receptionist couldn't understand it. On the way to hotel I got attacked by more than one dogs near the hotel (these were street vendor's dogs). Room didn't even have basic items like hair dryer. Only one toilet roll. Wifi connection was very weak in the room. And the condition of the room was really bad. Things were held together by screws that were half sticking out. You can definitely get a better place to stay for the same price.

Bad Bad service.

Honestly this is one of the worse hotels in Bangkok. I have made the booking thru hotels for a superior room, while after checking in i noticed that the room is tiney but didnt approche the reception. After 5 days the house keeping staff asked my why dont i upgrade to a superior room instead of basic room since i have a baby with me.
I was shocked knowing that they have put me in a basic room instead of superior. I asked to speak with the manager and he said that time the room was not ready so we gave u basic, and i have not ask for the room to be changed and decided to keep me in the room.
word of advise, don't book in this hotel.

Worst, Poor, Cheating, very bad

hotels.com has cheated with me and even unico express also cheated, i booked a room through hotels.com by looking at the pictures for 10 days and there was mention one night free, when i reached hotel i got to know that the room wasnt the same what i booked for, when i request hotel staff they said talk to the booker not us, than i sent emails to hotels.com but didnt got any reply from them, they replied me after 2 months, it was a horrible trip through hotels.com, as i paid for the room and when i didnt like so hotel people refused to refund and said talk hotels.com and there is nobody responsible to reply and even take care of a customer's complain, i asked unico people i cant stay in this smalles and dirty room, even the blanket and pillow were so dirty, than they said u can upgrade a room and pay us more, they showed me the same room which i saw on booking with hotels.com and i paid 250 baht everyday more than i got a better room, total 2500 baht i paid them extra, and i didnt even got any free night, so it was so so bad experience with hotels.com and definately will not even think to visit the site hotels.com again

not even basic toileteries provided , too thin walkways on the floor , poor bed , poor linen , no soap , no shampoo , even basic amenities are lacking m very poor condition of the old badly architectured hotel , never will visit again , its in deserted place at the end of sukhumvit , aways the worst choice

Very Disappointing

The Hotel did its best to make my stay, ( & I'm sure others stay), as comfortable as they could. But, I believe the inconveniences, problems, lack of responsibilities, are started at \"The Top\"! Ownership lacks pride of exactly that, \"Ownership\". They, I'm sure, are losing returning clients due to inconvenience, cleanliness, & personal accountability.
One of the managers who tried EXTREMELY HARD, to do everything possible to make my stay tolerable, was, Paktira. She is a very sweet young lady, who understood what I, & the Hotel, was going through. She is a true blessing to The Unico Express!
This review is what my experience was like, & I believe I'm a tolerant person for the most part, but, I'm sorry, I strongly recommend another Hotel right now, until \"Ownership\", gets their Hotel into better shape! They attract customers through low room rates, but as the saying goes, \"You get what you pay for\"!

No good

I didn`t like my stay. Room was really dirty and hotel staff was unpolite. Free internet didn`t work and location was horrible! I booked four nights but I left after one night. Don`t go there, seriously!
